I've reviewed this company several times over the past 16 years & like to update when they preform more than simple maintenance on my auto. I drive a 2005 Sedan Deville Cadillac & keep it in excellent condition thanks to Geilding auto Service which has had complete & exclusive care of my automobile for several reasons. One must make an appointment, this assures you that at that time on that day your auto is being inspected & the problem detected as quickly as possible. Once the problem is detected, parts are ordered for the repair. They understand we all need our car & their mission is to get it back to you as soon as possible & working perfectly. They are quick, efficient & the only time I've ever called to say it still didn't feel right they found they had received a bad part..remember my car is 20 yrs old...they notified me & there was no charge at all, including several hours of labor. HONESTY!!! I have no idea if their prices are better or worse than others since I haven't been to another repair shop in many years having spent years & years taking it to the dealership or another shop where it took days to repair and would often be back in the shop within 2-3 weeks. Took my vehicle in for an oil change and tire rotation. Steve and his team of experts recommended that I cross my front tires to the rear since they noticed slight feathering on the outside of the front tires. They said it would help smooth out the tread and prolong the life of my tires. There was also an issue around 2000 RPMs that caused my vehicle to shake. I thought it was my transmission starting to fail. After performing diagnostics on my vehicle they had found that one of my coils was bad and they were able to replace it that same day. I highly recommend these guys! We drove 10 hours to visit New Orleans recently, and of course our "check engine" light came on. The Chevy dealership had a 3-day waitlist to even diagnose the problem (nope!) but I called Geiling and spoke to Steve, who was super helpful and said to come on by to diagnose our problem. If it had been a serious issue we would have had to wait on an appointment for repair, but fortunately it was an easy fix. Steve and Garrett tried to refuse payment! I slipped them $25 anyway, just for their time and willingness to help a dumb out-of-towner, but the kindness and professionalism of this shop sure makes me wish I still lived in NOLA. You have to make an appointment like going to the doctor. Basically you car is going to the doctor. These guys can cure car cancer so I am told. Recommended by a Lakeview business for repair to my BMW. Called for an appointment and fortunately, they had time the following day. Very convenient location for those of us in Lakeview and Metairie. Arrived and warmly greeted by very professional staff. Confirmed work to be done and promised car would be done by late afternoon. For me, this was not a problem as I knew the service would require some time, so I had arranged for a ride home. Their call came that afternoon a little sooner than I expected, which was fine with me. The cost of the service was about 30% less that the dealer. Steve and the rest of the crew at Geiling are very nice and professional. I like to do my own automotive work because I just don't trust others to do it properly. There have been times in the past when I used to go to those quick oil change shops and wonder if they are really putting in exactly what I ordered. That's when I started doing my own oil changes, brakes, etc. A few days ago I wanted to replace some parts on my truck. I tried to do it myself but I couldn't pull open the panel on my own and complete the work so I had to call a shop to do it. I searched for automotive shops online and found Geiling. I called them up and told them my situation. The lady that talked to me on the phone was a sweetheart and chatted with me as if we have known each other for years. So I set up an appointment for the next day. When I went there the next day Steve introduced himself to me and asked me what exactly I needed done. Steve gave the job to his guys and they did the job in a snap. I asked Steve how much I owe him and he told me don't worry about it. I wish every business was run like Geiling. It's really strange to feel this way about an auto repair shop, but I really, really like Geiling. My family has been going there for over twenty years, and we stick with them because they're honest, fast and reasonable. I make the drive from Uptown, because I know that by going to Geiling, I'll be getting great service. When Geiling works on my car, it is fixed properly. Every time. They are very reasonably priced, and the AAA discount and oil change loyalty cards make them even more reasonable. Their customer service is really good. I've received mixed experiences with this shop. The customer service is wonderful and I would give it five stars. However, I've reduced their stars by how many times I've taken my car to them and then had to take it to another shop to have it fixed because they were unable to (or were going to charge me 3 times what someone down the road would). As much as I would like to say my experience was due to the fact I drive a foreign car, I can't. I had the same issues when I drove a Chevrolet. In contrast to the previous review. Very highly recommend Geiling Auto Service for their exceptional customer service - I have finally found my 'go to' repair shop for the first time in my fairly long life time. I had my alternator replaced by them in Feb of 2018 and in November - just before a planned Thanksgiving weekend road trip - the battery started acting up again. Used my other car for the trip but impending unexpected cost of repairs was nagging me throughout. Came back and had the vehicle towed to Geiling and spoke to Steve who looked up his records and informed me the alternator was still under warranty. That made me feel much better. They finished finished the job promptly the next day but what blew me away was that they said there was no charge at all. I was expecting to pay for the labor and time and it bothered me a little that it would be due to a part that failed while under warranty. Completely blown away when Steve said there was no charge at all. To me, that indicates honest, integrity, pride in their trade and a willingness to stand by their work. It inspires confidence for me as a customer to always use their services and to recommend them highly to my friend's and neighbors - which I did right away. I've brought my old car for service to Geiling's numerous times in the last 10 years. They're not perfect, but who is. A couple of times they didn't diagnosis the problem the first time, but they worked on it diligently when I brought it back. Usually the work is performed well, timely, and at a fair price. The most recent visit resulted from a breakdown near the end of the work week. My car was towed to the shop. I had called them before being towed in, and Steve said they were busy and still agreed to accept my car. So I knew they had other customers ahead of me, and they finished the repair on Monday. My immediate need was replacement of the radiator on my 2001 Subaru. While in their facility, I asked them to also perform the free all-systems inspection offered by my AAA membership - and alert me about any other issues that could cause future problems. They found several and maintained constant contact with me regarding approval and status. While unable to fix the leaking problem with my moon-roof (a known issue with Subaru Legacy vehicles), they provided a referral to a dependable body shop. All work was guaranteed, by both Geiling and AAA - for which they're a certified facility. I was given a AAA discount and the total repair bill was reasonable.
