I've reviewed this company several times over the past 16 years & like to update when they preform more than simple maintenance on my auto. I drive a 2005 Sedan Deville Cadillac & keep it in excellent condition thanks to Geilding auto Service which has had complete & exclusive care of my automobile for several reasons. One must make an appointment, this assures you that at that time on that day your auto is being inspected & the problem detected as quickly as possible. Once the problem is detected, parts are ordered for the repair. They understand we all need our car & their mission is to get it back to you as soon as possible & working perfectly. They are quick, efficient & the only time I've ever called to say it still didn't feel right they found they had received a bad part..remember my car is 20 yrs old...they notified me & there was no charge at all, including several hours of labor. HONESTY!!! I have no idea if their prices are better or worse than others since I haven't been to another repair shop in many years having spent years & years taking it to the dealership or another shop where it took days to repair and would often be back in the shop within 2-3 weeks. They are tops!! read more

Took my vehicle in for an oil change and tire rotation. Steve and his team of experts recommended that I cross my front tires to the rear since they noticed slight feathering on the outside of the front tires. They said it would help smooth out the tread and prolong the life of my tires. There was also an issue around 2000 RPMs that caused my vehicle to shake. I thought it was my transmission starting to fail. After performing diagnostics on my vehicle they had found that one of my coils was bad and they were able to replace it that same day. I am currently enjoying a smooth ride. Thank you Geiling Automotive for being awesome. read more

I highly recommend these guys! We drove 10 hours to visit New Orleans recently, and of course our "check engine" light came on. The Chevy dealership had a 3-day waitlist to even diagnose the problem (nope!) but I called Geiling and spoke to Steve, who was super helpful and said to come on by to diagnose our problem. If it had been a serious issue we would have had to wait on an appointment for repair, but fortunately it was an easy fix. Steve and Garrett tried to refuse payment! I slipped them $25 anyway, just for their time and willingness to help a dumb out-of-towner, but the kindness and professionalism of this shop sure makes me wish I still lived in NOLA. I'd bring all my vehicles to them and not even fool with the dealership service department. Honest, knowledgeable, and super nice shop!! A billion stars! read more

You have to make an appointment like going to the doctor. Basically you car is going to the doctor. These guys can cure car cancer so I am told. I will find out soon when I pick my car up when it's finished. If they fix my old truck the must be miracle workers. I have had my Impala front end aligned and balanced it it was a super job. 80 mph nice and smooth read more

Quality work and fair prices from an honest family! I appreciate these guys more than they know.

Steve and the rest of the crew at Geiling are very nice and professional. I like to do my own automotive work because I just don't trust others to do it properly. There have been times in the past when I used to go to those quick oil change shops and wonder if they are really putting in exactly what I ordered. That's when I started doing my own oil changes, brakes, etc. A few days ago I wanted to replace some parts on my truck. I tried to do it myself but I couldn't pull open the panel on my own and complete the work so I had to call a shop to do it. I searched for automotive shops online and found Geiling. I called them up and told them my situation. The lady that talked to me on the phone was a sweetheart and chatted with me as if we have known each other for years. So I set up an appointment for the next day. When I went there the next day Steve introduced himself to me and asked me what exactly I needed done. Steve gave the job to his guys and they did the job in a snap. I asked Steve how much I owe him and he told me don't worry about it. I wish every business was run like Geiling. They will get my business from now on if I ever need more than one pair of hands to get something done. read more

Recommended by a Lakeview business for repair to my BMW. Called for an appointment and fortunately, they had time the following day. Very convenient location for those of us in Lakeview and Metairie. Arrived and warmly greeted by very professional staff. Confirmed work to be done and promised car would be done by late afternoon. For me, this was not a problem as I knew the service would require some time, so I had arranged for a ride home. Their call came that afternoon a little sooner than I expected, which was fine with me. The cost of the service was about 30% less that the dealer. This will be my car's service home going forward. read more

Great service. Very knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend this business for any car repair needs.

This was my first time using Geiling's. They were VERY PROFESSIONAL and VERY HONEST! Excellent communication! They were honest up front about when they were going to be able to look at my car. They kept me updated about the status and had my car repaired and ready the very next day. This seems to be rare these days but this company will exceed expectations. They have earned a customer! read more

It's really strange to feel this way about an auto repair shop, but I really, really like Geiling. My family has been going there for over twenty years, and we stick with them because they're honest, fast and reasonable. I make the drive from Uptown, because I know that by going to Geiling, I'll be getting great service. When Geiling works on my car, it is fixed properly. Every time. They are very reasonably priced, and the AAA discount and oil change loyalty cards make them even more reasonable. Their customer service is really good. Steve is friendly, and he has the ability to explain what his shop is doing in terms that I can understand. It's weird to give an auto repair shop five stars, but they really are that good. read more

I've received mixed experiences with this shop. The customer service is wonderful and I would give it five stars. However, I've reduced their stars by how many times I've taken my car to them and then had to take it to another shop to have it fixed because they were unable to (or were going to charge me 3 times what someone down the road would). As much as I would like to say my experience was due to the fact I drive a foreign car, I can't. I had the same issues when I drove a Chevrolet. In contrast to the previous review. I have NEVER had it fixed correctly the first time. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more

Steve, Lorraine, and the crew are great. I have been using them for about a year since I friend recommended them. If you want trustworthy people who actually tell you the truth and don't try to scare you into unnecessary services, THIS is the place to go. I appreciate that they actually listen to any concerns and give solid recommendations for the care of my car. When my car is being serviced I usually wait there, I like that they actually remember their customers and ask about how you have been. Even when they are working on other tasks, Steve and Lorraine will chat with those of us waiting. Finding trustworthy mechanics can be so difficult, but look no further! I recommend them to everyone. read more

Man, talk about getting it done the first time and impressive service! Took my 2006 Jeep Wrangler there for break issue, did a great job with that and informed me my pistons weren't firing correctly. The did an excellent job, warranty their work, and fast turn around. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Very highly recommend Geiling Auto Service for their exceptional customer service - I have finally found my 'go to' repair shop for the first time in my fairly long life time. I had my alternator replaced by them in Feb of 2018 and in November - just before a planned Thanksgiving weekend road trip - the battery started acting up again. Used my other car for the trip but impending unexpected cost of repairs was nagging me throughout. Came back and had the vehicle towed to Geiling and spoke to Steve who looked up his records and informed me the alternator was still under warranty. That made me feel much better. They finished finished the job promptly the next day but what blew me away was that they said there was no charge at all. I was expecting to pay for the labor and time and it bothered me a little that it would be due to a part that failed while under warranty. Completely blown away when Steve said there was no charge at all. To me, that indicates honest, integrity, pride in their trade and a willingness to stand by their work. It inspires confidence for me as a customer to always use their services and to recommend them highly to my friend's and neighbors - which I did right away. I mean, who is not looking for a great repair shop ? Mr Steve, you have my thanks, my confidence and my loyalty as a customer - I live only a stone's throw from your garage. read more

I've brought my old car for service to Geiling's numerous times in the last 10 years. They're not perfect, but who is. A couple of times they didn't diagnosis the problem the first time, but they worked on it diligently when I brought it back. Usually the work is performed well, timely, and at a fair price. The most recent visit resulted from a breakdown near the end of the work week. My car was towed to the shop. I had called them before being towed in, and Steve said they were busy and still agreed to accept my car. So I knew they had other customers ahead of me, and they finished the repair on Monday. I couldn't ask for better service. read more

Was charged for a tire rotation that wasn't done (marked my front driver's tire). When I told them the tires were in the same place they apologized & 2 days later did the rotation while I waited. Am afraid they've lost my trust now. read more

Rene helped me out with an emergency alternator replacement - dealer was charging more than twice as much, but they accommodated the fact that I was out of town and got it done quickly and inexpensively - couldn't be happier with the service I received from Geiling, and my car has been running great now for the rest of my trip across the country. Would definitely recommend to anyone in New Orleans looking for work done on their car. read more

Been to Geiling twice and both times were stellar experiences. They are FAST and GOOD and while they may not be the cheapest, you are going to get what you pay for. if you don't need it, they'll tell you. I'll be back. hopefully not real soon, but I'll be back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Steve and the guys here have always done right by me and my family. Turn around time is almost always same day. I can drop off my car after business hours and call and leave a message and they take care of the rest. Always completely satisfied with work done and if not they make it right without any hassle. They are the least stressful mechanic I have EVER used. read more

Excellent service, honest folks. I never felt pressured like I was being upcharged for unnecessary services. Lorraine called me multiple times with updates and an estimated completion time; Steve (owner) personally met with me to discuss the services I wanted and said if some weren't necessary, he wouldn't do them. Their prices weren't really much cheaper than the dealership, but I felt Geiling's family-run business really earned MY business. read more

They did my brakes on my Audi. At first, I wasn't satisfied- I left the car overnight and they corrected whatever the problem was and I feel they did a good job. Price wise , I feel they were better than the dealer and they also used all audi parts. They have worked on a number of my vehicles and always do a good , timely job. I would recommend them. wallace read more

Prompt, professional, affordable service. My immediate need was replacement of the radiator on my 2001 Subaru. While in their facility, I asked them to also perform the free all-systems inspection offered by my AAA membership - and alert me about any other issues that could cause future problems. They found several and maintained constant contact with me regarding approval and status. While unable to fix the leaking problem with my moon-roof (a known issue with Subaru Legacy vehicles), they provided a referral to a dependable body shop. All work was guaranteed, by both Geiling and AAA - for which they're a certified facility. I was given a AAA discount and the total repair bill was reasonable. They will be my trusted go-to facility in the New Orleans metro area. read more

I've gone to Geiling for several years. I found them because of their high BBB rating. They do good work. However, they over charge and recommend repairs that are not needed. There are better shops in the area read more

Horrible. They were rude, overpriced, and didn't fix anything even though my vehicle was with them for well over two weeks. I eventually had to go to a different shop. Avoid this place unless you want to be patronized and scammed out of hundreds and even thousands of dollars. read more
