Thirty minutes later I was pulled into the bay. There I sat for another 30 minutes while the techs moved back and forth. The same gentleman who greeted me was the person who finally came to help. He was extremely friendly and informative. I do my own vehicle maintenance, and it was nice not to be pushed into services I didn't need. He was honest about the life left in the coolant and air filter. My only complaint would be the 80 minutes it took to get an oil change with no line.

The mechanic said it needed the blower motor, the resistor and the actuator replaced. They replaced the blower motor and resistor with subpar parts, and gave me the car with the ac, blowing "cool". They charged me a little over $1,000! The mechanic said he was going to consult with the dealership on how to repair the ac and never called me back. I ended up taking my car to my mechanic, who told me the ac not kicking in to the highest setting is related to the resistor, and replaced the blower motor AND resistor again...the ac now is working. I placed a complaint with Firestone and got a call from the store "manager" saying all they can do is offer me a credit for a free tire. I told him that would not work because I am never going to Firestone ever again! He said he would consult with the regional manager and would contact me. That was almost two months ago and no one has contacted me. Don't waste your time with Firestone!

When we left we got about a mile down the street and the car died, would not start. Goodrich sent a mechanic who jumped me a couple times to drive a little further but never got more than half a mile. He said the was going to the shop to get a batteray and replace the old one as that could be the problem. Needless to say it started up and we finished driving back to the shop. They charged me $274.00 for the new battery. 2 days later I brought it in to my dealer asking them to check my transmission as the car was still acting strange. They called me today to tell me the transmission was fine and a new alternator is what I needed. The one in the car was about dead, the new battery was keeping it alive. He said that was why it was acting funny because the dying alternator did not have enough power to run the care correctly. So my trip for an oil chg etc cost me $92.00, and the battery $274.00 at Goodyear. Had they checked the battery and alternator like say they do they would have found the problem. They always say the check everything...they said they reset the mileage for oil change on dash after I asked and they did not. How can I believe they do everything I brought the car in for? The cost an the dealer is anothe $327.00 for alternator & labor plus $247.00 for diagnostic fee. Looks like I am out $875.00. Maybe I did not need a new battery, it was their word.... I had stopped going to Goodyear in Kenner on 32nd St for a while and decided to go back a few months ago....but after this episode I WILL NEVER GO BACK! I will go to Firestone, they are closer to my house. So please people, make sure the diagnosis is correct on your vehicle from Goodyear if you go there for serivce...and ask all the questions you want to . The Mgr Ron has always worked with me the past years but now I am not sure it was not a ploy.
