I had a great experience here. I called at 3 pm and the guy helped me set up an appointment for the next day at 1:30 pm. He price matched a quote I got from another auto shop and was speedy and kind on the phone. I got the tires changed with no issues and they finished it in a timely manner. The next day my tire pressure gauge went off and I called and they took me right in and checked the tires for me. Looks like a sensor problem I'll have to come back and get fixed soon, but that isn't their fault. read more

Terrible service. Do not ever go here. Dropped my car off at 4:15 for a plug to be put in my tire that had a nail in it and was going flat. They let it sit in the parking lot for 2.5 hours and 30 minutes before closing said they weren't going to be able to get to it until tomorrow. It is now completely flat in the parking lot. Had to have my husband come and fix it himself in their parking lot as they turned off the lights 15 minutes before they supposedly close at 7 pm. For something that takes 10 minutes to do- plug a tire. Wow. I am speechless. If I could give 0 stars I would. Here's a pic of my car for your entertainment. I repeat, go elsewhere. The professional thing to do would have been to tell me when I walked in that I should go down the street somewhere else if they weren't going to fit me in today.....just absolutely ridiculous. read more

I noticed the check engine appear on my daughter's vehicle. It was late in the afternoon but Christina Hayes, the manager, said to bring it by. She had someone run a diagnostic test and figured out that I needed motor oil. Instead of just assuming I wanted an oil change, she offered to just top it off. She also gave me a discount on the oil change and the diagnostic test. She was prompt, courteous, professional and empathetic. She quickly addressed my concern and did her best to help me... financially and sincerely. She also told me to bring it by in the next 2 weeks for her to check the oil level. And if the check engine light returns, to bring it back since there would be no additional charge to diagnose the problem again. Now THAT is what you call customer service! read more

I had an appointment at 9:00 and arrived at the store at 8:30. I told the front desk receptionist (VJ) that I was early for my appointment, who told me that she would get my vehicle in ASAP. Twenty-five minute later, another customer came for her 9 appointment. Ironically, her vehicle got pulled in 20 min before mine. When I mentioned this to her, another guy (Anthony) came over and said that because I came in early I forfeited my 9 o'clock appointment and now it became a walk-in. What a ridiculous reason! Is he doing this to drive away their long-term customers? This Anthony guy is a terrible employee and should be fired by the owner. That said, I liked other people working there, particularly the technicians. They have beed doing a great job on my cars. But, please please avoid this Anthony guy and potentially VJ (an innocent-looking young girl, not fair). read more

No one enjoys getting their car serviced, but just like going to the dentist...it's a part of life. I've been to several Firestones around Birmingham and other parts of AL, but this one has provided me consistently with the best service. Every time I come into the store, someone immediately greets me kindly and courteously, even if they're busy. They're frequently busy, so there is oftentimes a bit of a wait; however, I always feel like they value their customers' time and do the best they can to get me in and out within a reasonable time. Generally, I've never waited longer than an hour and a half for a routine oil change and tire rotation--even when they're full. And if the wait time is ever longer, it's more forgivable because they're so consistently great. As someone who doesn't know crap about cars, I also genuinely appreciate everyone's willingness to explain things to me in remedial terms that I can understand. The pricing is fair and always consistent, which is a true testament of trustworthiness in the auto servicing industry. Of course up-selling is required, but I never feel like they're lying to me about what my car needs just to make a sale. I don't ever leave feeling like I've just been pressured into buying something unnecessary. For example, my car definitely needs new back tires. The salesperson mentions that the tread is low and they could replace them for me today if I'd like. If my answer is "no, not today", the salesperson makes a gentle suggestion to start budgeting for those back tires for my next visit, as I'll likely need them replaced by then. I cannot express how much I appreciate not being pressured to buy something from this dealer immediately--this makes me highly inclined to actually purchase the item (like tires) from them in the future, as they've gained my trust as a customer. TL;DR: I go to this Firestone for all my car care needs. The staff is friendly, kind, and trustworthy. I refuse to take my car anywhere else. read more

Be very careful using this Firestone location. I stopped using them after over 10 years being a loyal customer (of this Hoover-Hwy 31) store, after I began experience some significant and dangerous issues. One issue was a dangerous tire blowout (I-459) my son experienced a day after picking up his car from them for tire rotation, balance and alignment. Another issue happened when I noticed a suspicious nail stuck into the side wall of back tire of my daughter's car. That nail wasn't there when I dropped car off...I always do (and I recommend) doing a walk around your car when dropping it off for service (and take a few pics-while parked at store). The 3rd issue and last straw came when my battery died, whack was literally the very next day after picking up my care from Firestone, during which they'd "supposedly" checked battery (via report provided at checkout) and said it was fine...I doubt they actually checked battery. If you're a customer of this location, please very careful. read more

It's hard to find a decent auto care place you can actually trust, and I've found that at Firestone. I've taken two vehicles here for routine things (tires, brakes, oil, etc.) For tires they will give you three quotes with three price ranges, which is helpful on your budget. They will also recommend other service items, but are not high pressure on trying to force you to do it. That alone keeps me wanting to come back. As someone else mentioned in a review said they suggested "budgeting" for an upcoming repair rather than forcing it down my throat when I was in the store. The wait time can sometimes be a few hours, but they are great about calling to update the status of your vehicle and allow you to drop it off if you don't have an appointment. read more

I am STILL trying to get my money back from a mischarge. My credit card was charged over 30 days ago for 81 bucks and it only shows as 71 in their system. You know that's not a lot of money, but it is MY money, and all the time it has taken to try and get it back and every time I ask I have to wait for someone to call and I can't even get his full name. Can't somebody really just give me the ten bucks back? You know what after all this trouble and time wasted maybe half the service charge would make more sense. It's something that should be so simple. If their system cant figure out where my ten bucks is or they don't care what else don't they care about? Read several good reviews about this particular Firestone which is why I made an apt and drove 25min to come here. 12pm apt on a Saturday, was told it would be an hour to an hour and a half. Waited around until 1:50 and went in to check to see how much longer, only to find out they hadn't even started on my car, but of course it was next in line. I made an apt specifically to get in and out and continue with my plans for the weekend. I couldn't wait another hour so I had no choice but to take my car, untouched, and go. What a waste of 3 hours of my Saturday. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed I didn't just take my car down the road from home and call it a day. read more

I came by here to have my tires looked at to see if they needed replacing. The service manager and I looked at all the tires and he admitted that I did not need tires at the moment even though they had 46K on them. He did suggest that I get a rotation which we did and the price was minimal and done quickly. He quoted me two different new tires so I could budget when they are needed. read more

I had a front brake service on my Honda accord, and I was told that the brake caliber need to be changed together with the pad. I spend over 600 dollars. After the change, I noticed something is not right - I have to step on my brake much deeper to stop to car. I went back and told the manager the problem, they inspected it and said no problem. I am very disappointed knowing something is not right. A few month later, I went to Tameron Honda dealer to check it out. I was told that caliber was not right, it is for the 6-cylinder accord but not for the 4-cylinder. The caliber is slightly larger causing me to have to step much deeper to stop the car. I went back to the Firestone and They deny completely and insisted nothing wrong. Never trust the manager in this shop, never go there ever!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
