We live nearby and have been using Firestone Tire in Hinsdale for all of our tire needs for 20 years. Out of town guests had a flat tire on Monday (day after Easter) and told them to go to Firestone Hinsdale when they told us other places quoted them 3-4 days to fix. Firestone Hinsdale said they could have the tire fixed by the following day/Tuesday if we paid an extra fee to have the rim personally delivered to Firestone, which we did. Tuesday rolls around and we were told the tire and rim would now not be ready until Wednesday but assured us Wednesday morning it would be ready. At 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, we had hear nothing so called and were told the rim was "10 minutes away and the tire would be ready within an hour after the rim arrived". TWO HOURS later we still had not received a call that the tire was ready. So we called and were told the rim took longer than expedited to arrive and they have no control over what information they were given so that was their third party contractors fault. He then went on to say they were very busy now, there were several customers ahead of us but they could make sure the tire would be ready some time today. When he was kindly (I was in no way being rude) reminded of the numerous different time frames we were given, he became quite irritated with me, and at no time was an apology ever given regarding the delays but quite the opposite. Excuse after excuse was given that he cannot be responsible for problems caused by their third party contractors (but yet never called us to let us know the part was delayed despite the additional fees we paid to expedite it), that we are not his only customers, and they "cannot just stop work on the other customers who have appointments" in order to fix the tire. I explained we were not expecting special treatment and that our appointment was actually two days prior. We were expecting the work to be done when originally quoted and even then when an additional day was added on we were not upset at all. We are reasonable people. But by day three and timelines quoted continued to repeatedly not be met, no communication from Firestone unless we called them, no apologies for the repeated missed timelines, and then acting as if we were in the wrong for expecting communication and transparency of timelines, is when I decided our business clearly will be much more appreciated elsewhere from now on. read more

Called in to check if they would take a coupon. They agreed. Called in before appointment and was told the mechanic needed to leave. I rescheduled cause at least I saved the trip. Came for second appointment and was told the mechanic took off the day. Came in next day and they agreed to extend the deal since this was another reschedule. They provided the alignment printout and Andy was excellent to deal with. FS may be the only place that does lifetime alignments. Could use it as a free way to have the car looked at since it's already on the lift. Midas stopped years ago. read more

My car got a flat tire on our way out of town for vacation a few weeks ago and we were in dire need of repair. Firestone could see us immediately and found a huge nail in our tire. For no cost, our service manager patched and repaired our tire and we were back on the road within the hour. So grateful and appreciate the quick service! Would definitely recommend. read more

I never received any service since their employee damaged my truck and this has not been fixed yet. This happened on 9/12 the employee pulled my truck into the bay and for some reason had to back out and destroyed my driver's side mirror and the molding by the window was damaged. This is now 9/27 still no call from claims and the store manager just tells me he escalated it. I am driving with no mirror and illegal. They broke my mirror what is the issue in fixing it - this is a no-brainer. As a girl who drives a lot but doesn't know much about cars, I stopped by because my boyfriend and I were in town for a project and.. my change oil light had been flashing for a bit.. Chris greeted us and was friendly and professional. He was very transparent about time and gave us an estimate on how much it was going to cost before they started on my car. I was impressed by their attention to detail, as they found a couple of other issues that needed to be addressed. I appreciated that they didn't pressure me into getting the additional work done right away. Bought $700+ worth of tires in 9/18. Go to have the rotated: Of course my car is out of alignment and camber wear has destroyed two tires. Of course that's supposed to cost me $350. Of course they didn't use enough tire sealant on the rim and I have a flat. I will need an Appointment to have a new tire repaired. They are car doctors... You know what was not forgotten; the call to let me know they were open for service during this virus mess. Guess who took care of business; Firestone in Downers Grove. They charged my friend $600 for a new oil pan because, they told her, it had a stripped bolt. First, an oversized oil pan repair bolt is a standard repair and costs about $10 retail. Second, the bolt was snug and not leaking when she drove it to them, how loose could it have been. $600 for an oil change. Or, if you like, $600 for a stripped bolt. Yeah. Let that digest. A $10 oversized bolt would have been the best repair, but they never offered it as an option to her. It's just wrong. read more

The guy at the counter was extremely rude to me. I called the day before and said what time I could be there to fix a small leak in my tire. I asked if I needed an appointment. And he said no and took my info. I came in the next day and was told it would be 30 to 45 min. I had to wait an hour and a half until close to closing, only to be told they couldn't fix it, it was a liability. He was completely rude when I asked how my tire was and why it was taking so long. A couple came in after me and he took care of them first. I asked why and he said they had an appointment. I had tried to make an appointment the day before. They were so inconsiderate, making me wait an hour and a half for nothing, when when they could have quickly seen they couldn't have fixed it. They don't care about their customers and were just goofing off in the back making me wait. I will never go back to this Firestone. read more

Terrible experience! I was helping a friend who asked me to take her car to this location. The man she spoke to said he could fit her in (to have her brakes checked) between 5:15 and 5:30. Apparently that was a lie because the other guy likes to "make overdrawn promises." I asked the tech what he was going to do about it since they clearly don't communicate and he said I don't know what you want me to do with only one guy other than myself in the shop. I said well for starters he could make an exception and keep the appointment. These guys don't know what the hell they're doing. Maybe they should learn how to not over book appointments so that they aren't in over their heads?! Just an idea. Lesson learned...don't get your car worked on where the techs don't know how to schedule appts. read more

Made an appt online earlier this morning for a late afternoon appt. I received a confirmation email. Took my car in at the scheduled time to find out by Steve at the front desk that they don't have it in their system. I told him I received a confirmation email with a confirmation number and he said he didn't confirm the appt back with me since he had no openings. Went with a flat tire. They said that it could not be fixed. I believed them. Bought a new tire from them. Took the "unfixable tire" to another place, it was fixable. Plus one of my other tires had a bubble that was dangerous but not mentioned. Congratulations you got a tire sale but not a repeat customer. Will never come back. read more

I got my car fixed here for awhile. Their prices were decent and they had credit, which was helpful. HOWEVER...in 2011 I had my timing belt replaced by them, only to have it FALL off and leave me stranded miles away from home a little over a year later. They said it was out of warranty, but they replaced it "for free" since I just missed the year mark. This would have made me happy, but here I am two years later, getting the timing belt totally replaced AGAIN. So basically from 2011 to 2014, that's 3 timing belts. Ummm....a timing belt is supposed to last for ten years or so. It's something you replace once, maybe twice in your car's lifetime. Apparently the timing belt I have on there is old and worn. So, what happened? Did Firestone put on an old, used timing belt and tell me they replaced it? Did they glue my old one back together and hope for the best? Not only was it dangerous to be driving around with an f-ed up timing belt, it has been inconvenient. I have so far spent $1600 in timing belts because of Firestone's poor job. I will NOT be going back there, needless to say. read more

This team is very helpful I have been taking my car here for just over a year now and have been impressed by Firestone's professionalism and willingness to assist me as needed. They have explained issues to me clearly and given me options based on my situation. Bought new tires from them at a competitive price and now can just pop in to have them check tire pressure, etc. I just called because I received new license plates in the mail and I can't get one of the bolts out.....asked if they might be able to help me and Ramone immediately said, "Bring it in. We'll take care of it." Point being: they can help with the BIG issues and are willing to help with the small as well. So far, very pleased. read more

But if its not such a long wait, you have Dunkin Donuts right next door and Shell Gas Station and Deli across the street! Our experience at Firestone was absolutely wonderful. We came in needing help getting our wiper fluid to work, as we had been driving for three hours and having to stop nearly every 20 minutes to clean off the windshield in order to see. A service member, Sam, inspected the car for free, got our car in and the wiper fluid working, as well as an oil change and new windshield wipers, all in less than an hour. He also only charged us $20 total because of our previous frustration with the car. Sam and the rest of the Firestone employees were friendly and incredibly helpful, and we are so so thankful for their kindness and help. read more

In the frigid temperatures near Chicago, my tires were low so I stopped at a gas station to try and fill them but the air hose was frozen. Next, I went to Firestone in Hinsdale and was helped by a young man as their outside hose was frozen but he pulled the inside one out to fill up my tires. I'm not a person that complains, but I have to say I'm very frustrated and disappointed by Firestone's service at this location in Hinsdale. This is the third time, I've taken my car here, the first time my experience was great I got a great deal on an oil change and Lifetime alignment for my car. Second time, made my appt for one of the first car there and I got a call at 3pm, stating they were not going to be able to align my car cause one the the cars they were aligning got stuck. The third time was today and made my appt at noon for oil change and alignment and barely got a call one hour before I was due to pick up, stating they didn't have time for my car and I needed to pick it up!!! Seriously, who runs this joint!!!! Firestone is a big company and should definitely look into this ongoing problem. read more

I have been going to this Firestone for the past 3 years. Not only do they provide great service, but they actually try and find ways to save you money. Most centers are only interested in selling repairs and services that you most likely do not need. Firestone offers good deals and reliable maintenance. The staff is friendly and helpful and they always make me feel comfortable. My only real comment is the wait can be fairly long during their peak hours, but the fact they get so much business shows they are a quality service center. read more

I have worked with Pat and Brian the store manager on multiple occasions, both are very knowledgeable in their craft. Corporation-owned Firestone employees DO NOT work on commission which is GREAT because they DO NOT try to sell you stuff you don't need. They give you a report card for your car with recommendations, if there are any, and have never gotten pushy. Other reviews say they may take a long time during peak hours, which is true, but keep in mind this is very small location, most other Firestones I have seen are much bigger with more employees so plan accordingly. I prefer to go out of my way to deal with this store because of the service I have gotten from them for years (and their prices are fair and in line). Because of this Firestone location, if I ever have a problem anywhere in the USA, I will find my closest Firestone to get an HONEST evaluation of my vehicle. Honest service! My Toyota Sienna Van was repaired quickly and correctly for a FRACTION of the cost that the Toyota Dealer wanted. Toyota wanted $2900 to fix power steering and rack and pinion steering. Your Service Advisor Brian evaluated the car, determined with patience and some liquid wrench, they would not need to replace anywhere near the same parts. He took the time to get a new poweri steering pump installed, inspected and adjusted the rack and pinion, at a cost of only $390. The van works perfectly! Brian only performs the work that is needed, and is very informative, and helpful. I will take all my vehicles to firestone! read more
