This place is the absolute best. I have stayed with them through two cars and now live 30 minutes away but still haul my vehicles out to them because it's worth it. Andy is super trustworthy and able to break down exactly what's going on with a car for people like me who do not know anything about cars. They consistently go out of their way for customers and are honest about what you do and do not need to do for your car. Some examples of them being stellar: - I've been told that my car "doesn't need that yet" many times. - I've gotten great advice about whether I should do an expensive repair to my Nissan when I was deciding whether to repair or trade in for another vehicle. - I've been told honestly when a "dealer recommendation" is BS marketing. - Most recently Andy looked at my car and found that the issue was something that needed BMW-specific expertise. He not only referred me to another shop that he trusts, he drove the car there himself with my permission and refused payment for the work they did troubleshooting (which deserves payment!) This is a business that knows that earning die-hard customers like me has a higher ROI than squeezing an extra dollar out of someone because they don't know you're charging them for something they don't need. I called on a Saturday morning, told them my brake issues. They said, bring it it. "We will look at it, no problem". When I arrived the staff was very friendly, gave me a sense of professionalism. The looked at my truck, and quickly assessed it needed new pads, rotors, and brake lines to the front. They explained what each part did, and why they needed to be replaced. I was amazed on how fast they were able to get me in and out. My brakes work great and I am very very satisfied with the job they did. I would highly recommend them and will also return for future repairs. I should mention that they also did brakes on my wife's 2014 Sonata awhile back and they also did a great job that time. read more

Dont bother making an appt here. Made an appointment for an oil change, showed up for my appointment on time and was told it would be a couple of hours. I made an appointment because I had other places to be during the day, I didn't have time to wait around. If my appointment needed to be pushed out, that's fine, but give me a courtesy call as to not waste my time. Don't bother accepting appointments if you are not going to be prepared to service them at the time of the appointment. read more

I brought my 2010 GLK 350 4matic in to get the exhaust system replaced for $1,425.00. I gave them all day to work on it (starting at 11:30 am). They budgeted for two hours. I got a call in less than one hour that my car was done. They rushed the job and for what? There were no other cars even there that day. After the job, I test drove the car. There was a new engine noise that was never there before in the 11 years I've owned the car. It is a knocking noise. I have 7 different recordings of this noise that they caused on my phone. This noise is 100% a product of the work they did. So, I immediately brought it back to Andy. "Can you please get rid of this noise that was not there before?" He took no blame for the noise and rushed me out of there within one minute. The business had no cars in there and he couldn't pull it in and diagnose the problem he caused? I emailed him later that night. He will not do a thing and blames it on the oil change - which I got two months ago by Mercedes Northbrook. Don't even bother with any other Midas locations nearby. Even if this location on Ogden is a little farther away, it is MUCH more worth it. And the reason I say this is because of MANAGEMENT and CUSTOMER SERVICE. The owner, Andy is unbelievably excellent at his job and how to work with customers. I went in for a brake job and it was supposed to be $500 but because of some issues out of either of our control it took longer than expected and he took nearly $300 off the cost due to the inconvenience. No other location I have ever been at would do something so kind. He is fantastic at explaining car issues to a level the average customer can understand and is SO polite. He is a leading example of how customer service should be and he deserves some serious recognition. I was running errands and was 2 blocks away from Midas. Pulled in and asked if the could check my car for the grinding noise and asked for an overall check up for a future vacation. Dropped it off around 9:30 am and they drove me home. I needed front and back brakes and 4 rotors. It was all done at 1:30 pm and they picked me up so I could pay them. They did a great job and were quick and courteous. I would highly recommend them. read more

This is a great Midas location! Andy is very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. I booked an appointment for an oil change a week out (they are very busy!). They said about an hour and he had me on my way in 35 minutes. He was honest and told me what to keep an eye out for in the future. Andy was very honest - we will be back for all tbing car related (brakes, tires, etc). Just call ahead since they are very busy! Refreshing to have an honest car shop in the area. read more

UPDATE: I would like to update my review to let everyone know how this business handled this situation in a professional and timely manner. After my recent visit on 03/25/2021 with issues about my taillight being broken off/cracked etc. I left a voicemail and was immediately contacted back on a Sunday 03/28 from the manager of the Midas in Westmont, Andy. Andy listened and was very understanding and empathetic to my situation, apologetic, and promptly said that he would get a replacement taillight sent in to the shop by Wednesday 03/31/21 to get it taken care of properly. Andy sure enough called me Wednesday morning 03/31 to let me know I could come in any time to get the replacement installed. Andy promptly addressed my complaint and got my car fixed the correct way in less than a week! My issues were taken care of by Andy immediately, professionally, and efficiently to properly and attentively satisfy my issues with the services I received or lack there of...Even though this should have never happened in the first place (and should have been taken care of properly the first time), Andy made it possible where I was actually able to leave there feeling good, satisfied, supported, and serviced like I have been every other time I have came in for service that was done by Andy!! This is my second time giving Midas a chance, and I was disappointed. I asked to have my oil change and to also check my brake fluid because it was low . I told him(Andy) that I planned on taking it some where else for whatever is wrong with my breaks but would like then checked out. He was snippy with me as soon as I told him I wasn't going to have the work done there, he cut me off while speaking, and honestly was rude. I saw many others come in and because they were planning on getting work done he was kind, welcoming, and available for questions. Yet with me it definitely wasn't the case and I got oil change there. At the end of it all he reprimanded me and told me all the things I should have done or did wrong, I said okay, I paid and left. I will no longer be using Midas. I just got my car checked by another company who told me there wasn't a leak, no rusting, nothing, and they actually went in to see if there was a problem. This is the second time Midas has done this, first was when there was something shaking in the front of my car Midas said it would be 1000+ fix and I went to my normal guy and it was 125, now falsely saying there is something wrong with my breaks and I take it to my normal guy and he says nothing. I've taken my automobiles to this specific Midas for about 20 years. The manager, Andy, is terrific. My daughter takes her car to this location, even though she lives 35 miles away in Chicago. Andy has proven to me that he cares about my business. I have had repairs that I thought were going to be extremely costly, only to find out that it was a small part and the fee was under $30.00. That's an honest mechanic. I do make a point of taking the cars in when Andy is present. No slight to his staff, but I am assured that if Andy is involved, the car is repaired properly and the work is performed as it should be. I highly recommend this Midas location. read more

I've been here twice, and I think they're a great place. I was worried I was going to have to replace the shocks on my car, or it was the compressor, because I have air suspension. I couldn't afford an expensive car repair right now, I'd have to put it off. The car looked really low in the back, after driving through the alleys of Westmont yesterday, and tons of pot holes. I called, they took it in right away, and the mechanic Nick, discovered it wasn't the compressor, or the pump, but a valve or connector. The repair was minor, $61.50. I did notice this as a frequent reported problem for the SAAB 9-7X. When I read that someone else was quoted by a dealership $1500 to replace the entire system, I worried. That's what I was thinking I was going to be looking at, so what I spent, was a huge relief. read more

I was prompted to write this review today after I had some totally unexpected car trouble today and Andy really helped me out by connecting me with a tow truck company and staying AN HOUR after closing time on a Saturday to get my car safely into his shop. He never complained and he didn't seem the least bit annoyed. I apologized and he insisted it was a no problem at all. Andy is super courteous and will tell it you like it is. He doesn't push any repairs or try to upsell. We always appreciate his honesty and straight-forward approach. If it's something that needs immediate attention or repair, he is great about explaining the repair and what your options are. On the flip-side, he also lets you know about other things that will eventually need to be addressed or should be addressed, but may not need to repaired immediately so repairs become more affordable and manageable if you are on a budget and need to plan for them. I first started bringing my car to Westmont Midas because I was pricing out some repairs and I wanted to get some second opinions and I found that Westmont Midas gave the most accurate repair assessments and was very competitively priced. We've had other friends come to the same conclusions on their own and now after many of years of excellent service, we wouldn't consider bringing our cars anywhere else. I took my car here to get an oil change, which was very reasonably priced. No complaint there. However, when I went to pick up my car at the end of the day, my car was sitting in the lot facing the street and the headlight was broken. It most definitely was not broken when I dropped it off. I brought it to their attention, and even though it clearly happened on their watch and was a result of their inattention, I was stuck footing half the $450 bill (it's a VW Beetle). I will never, ever go there again, and I urge everyone else to steer clear. read more
