Dishonesty in the guise of something else really bothers me. This shop has a very, very pleasant attitude, and I would give them more stars if they had been honest about the tires I got. The week before, I had been told that the tires were $48, including installation. I couldn't afford four at that price, so when I arrived the next week, I asked them to install just two. Now, these tires are rather rare, so there's a good chance that they'd been in inventory for a while and the company had little hope of getting them sold. When the service writer acted like he was taking pity on me, saying "you really need four tires on this car" as though I was putting my life in danger by not doing so, at first I interpreted his next words as a just very kind generosity. He said they'd give me four tires "for the price of two." The original total was $110. The new total? Almost $160. Why? Because they still had to charge me for installing them. (I forget to mention that the price of the two tires when I called on the day I actually bought them had changed from the $48, installation included, to $31, installation NOT included.) Now, do some math: $110 minus 62 (i.e. 31 + 31) equals what? Forty eight! And yes, folks, although they claimed that their special of buy 3 get 1 free could NOT be applied to these tires when I called them the previous week, that's exactly what they actually did. No taking pity on me and "giving" me free tires. Just a line of BS to pretend to be being generous when they were actually doing what they'd already been doing for everyone. Y'know, having actually put it all in words now, I've gotten mad enough all over again to drop the rating I'm giving them to a ONE star. Next time, JUST BE HONEST, Firestone! read more

Brought in my car because a piece of metal pierced the center of my tire. After they had my car for an hour, they told me the tire was beyond repair and wanted to sell me a new one. Instead I took the car to my dealership who determined the tire was repairable and did so promptly. read more

Kevin referred us to the amazing Gainesville Towing to have her car brought in and had a tire waiting and ready for her. They were able to replace her tire and get her on her way pretty quickly. To know that they were so nice and took such good care of her was a big relief to us. Its hard to find a good mechanic shop. Its even more rare when its from a national chain of automotive service centers. Especially one with an awesome location and great hours of operation. And that's exactly what you'll find at this Firestone. The staff is awesome. The service advisers and technicians are all very friendly and knowledgeable. I've been there several times and while they seem busy most of the time, they get the work done in a reasonable amount of time. The work they do is excellent and if you're interested, they're willing to show you exactly what's going on with your car inside the service bay. read more

I replaced all of the four tires for my Hyundai Sonata here. I was told that the job will be finished within 45 mins. so I decided to wait inside the lobby. However, the job took over 3 hours and a half. If the service representative gave me correct information, I would not have wasted my precious time there. I did not feel the representative were friendly at all either. They gave no apology even when I told them I had to wait a lot longer than they told me. Hey, I can understand that the job may take some time. However, they could have at least told me that the job may take longer than they expected while I was sitting in the lobby for the entire time. The price is very high even for no name brand tires. Lastly, they did not give my spare tire back without notice !! read more

I brought my 2008 Nissan Altima here at noon to have a inspection on the battery and the engine. At 4pm they called me and they said they were in good condition but a few other problems need to be fixed. So I followed their advice and they agreed that I pick it up in 7pm. Unfortunately, I was ten minutes late and the tragedy goes on. The moment I arrived there, the first words are complains. The guys told me they have called me so many times with no response, no matter how I explained to them I received no calls at all. I was so embarrassed that I almost showed my phone call record to them. Not until my friend, who is very kind said to him it's our fault did the guy stop complaining. But I swear they dialed the wrong number and we received nothing at all! And when I arrive home, some of my friends got to know about the condition of my car and they say half of the services were not necessary. I think it's OK because I made the decision but I just could not tolerate a guy with no politeness to his customer. You guys late, you guys not picking up the calls, you guys' fault, do not waste my time, sign the receipt and get out. That's it. The guy is so rude and thx for ruining my Friday night. read more

Three hours is way too long to change the oil. Always seem to wait a long time here. Also dissatisfied with recent tire purchase, they want to rebalance them but I don't have that kind of time. Finding another place to go, dealers are a rip off but at least they're faster. read more

Made an online appointment on Monday for today(Wednesday) about an hour before they close just for an oil change on my boyfriends truck. We called up there to confirm the appointment and the prices we had been told and the front desk clerk raised the prices and told us that making the appointment an hour before they close was inconvenient because if they get busy our appointment is voided. I was shocked by his answer. The customer service is horrible and slow. I've heard they are great techs but that gentleman working front counter on Monday did everything to talk us out of our appointment. For something that was going to be convenient for us since we live an hour away but work in Gainesville became a huge inconvenience. read more

This location gave me the run around after I brought my car to them to fix my breaks. Everything was fine when I brought it in on Tuesday, the price was good and they seemed knowledgeable, the technician who inspected the car wasn't trying to price gouge me or tell me that I had to replace things that didn't need replacing. The issue came when they were telling me when it would be done. I called the next day at 1pm to see if it would be done by the time I got out of work at 5. The guy told me yes it would. Then I got a call back from them and the guy who inspected my car apologized and told me that that guy shouldn't have told me that because they didn't realize how much other work they had to Finnish before mine. I was okay with that. But I asked him if it would be done by lunch time the next day (Thursday) he said definitely. Mind you My boyfriend had a very important doctors appointment that we could not reschedule or miss and the car is our only means of transport. Well I called today (Thursday) at 1:30 to see if it would be done. They told me that their parts guy kept coming back with the teeing parts which is why it was taking so long. Long story short the car that was supposed to be done the day before and then by noon today, wasn't done until 5:30 and my boyfriend had to take a taxi to his appointment. No discount, no nothing. I'm probably gonna find a different auto shop if I have to get my car fixed ever again. read more

I just had my brakes serviced and wanted to pass on how disappointed I am with the experience. When I picked up my truck, I noticed that there was grease on the leather driver seat, seat trim, steering wheel, gear shift, floor mat, floor board and interior and exterior door handles, as well as greasy hand marks on the door jamb, hood, fenders and even in the middle of the passenger door exterior. I addressed this with the manager, who had the technician come out to clean the mess. Unfortunately, all he used were dry paper towels that did nothing more than smear the grease around. Rather than waste more of my time trying to get it cleaned again by the mechanic, I gave up and spent 15 minutes doing it myself. I did address this with the manager (twice) and he did apologize, but that didn't get the problem fixed. I have used this location in the past for service with no problems so can't tell you how disappointing this experience was. It is sad that such a sloppy job has probably lost Firestone more than a few customers. If such little care was shown for keeping my truck clean, how much care was used to do my repairs? I went to firestone this past weekend for an oil change because they had a discount coupon out and I'm on a tight budget. There was quite a wait but I had called ahead and gotten an appointment. After my oil changed they offered to rotate my tires and check my brakes for free. I agreed thinking that was great service! WRONG!!! WRONG WRONG!!! I was told my breaks and rotors were nearly warn out and I needed them changes ASAP or risk dangerous driving!! They quoted me nearly $800 for the new breaks and rotors! Having multiple friends who are mechanics in my home state I quickly asked if that seemed reasonable and they ALL SAID NO NO NO! I left choosing not to have my breaks at that time and went to get a second opinion! My second opinion allowed my friend with mechanic experience to watch him check my brakes and they were fine!! I was told have plenty of time left to drive safely with my breaks and I was ripped off by Firestone. My mechanic said the service were at a max $500 and I didn't need them done for over 5,000 miles!! Firestone tried to scare me into purchasing $800 of unnecessary work! I will never go back and would recommend always getting a second opinion! If the price and urgency seem off than they probably are!! What a rip-off! read more
