We have been Firestone loyal for over 20 years. Have had very good service from Firestone in Carrollwood area. I hate to write this review, but feel it needs to be shared. My daughter took her vehicle in for a nail in the tire, we ended up with four new tires. The car entered the garage without body damage and exited the garage with a significant dent, scratch, and paint removed on the driver side rear passenger area. The supervisor there stated they would take care of us and sent her to get an estimate on body repair. She went to two places, and the estimate was emailed. They assured us that they take care of their customers and they would take care of this. The manager came in a few days later and stated that it could not have happened in the garage because her car had white paint on it and that somebody must have hit it in the parking lot and therefore it is our responsibility. I have always thought once you give someone your keys at a service department, what happens to the car during that time is their responsibility. I have no idea what happened when the technician parked the car in the parking lot and drove it in and out of the garage. We filed a claim with Firestone and the claims department denied it stating that it must have been hit in the parking lot. Bottom line is we lost and we have to report it to our insurance company and pay the deductible. They did offer to pay the deductible, but we have not seen any follow up on that. The decision was made by two people who were not there during the incident and minimal consideration was given to the customer. So therefore the customer is wrong and Firestone is right and the burden is on us. My mother always said that this world is not fair and don't expect it to be, but it sure is hard sometimes. We hate to stop using the Carrollwood location but they really left us no choice. Trying to accept the injustice here and just move on. Thanks for reading. read more

I gave them another chance after my last bad experience. Big mistake. I brought my Accord in with a complaint of noise from the rear wheels,stating that I thought it was the wheel bearing(s) since they had done rear brakes only 15K miles ago. I asked them to look at the front brakes too, since they hadn't been replaced in many years. They said it was the brakes, which I authorized. They replaced them and insisted that all 4 rotors needed to be replaced. after the work was done (around $1000) they informed me that one of the rear wheel bearings was starting to go bad and I should bring it back for replacement. They quoted $600 for the job. I requested the old rotors and only one was bad. I took them home and miked them, the other three were well over the minimum thickness for turning. Despite the disability that I brought home from Iraq, I jacked up that wheel to check it out. The bearing was so bad that the entire wheel wobbled about an inch back and forth. I ordered a replacement bearing on Amazon for $50 and paid a guy from church $60 to replace it. It took about 1 hour. I will never go to Firestone again, and will never recommend them to anyone again. I have spent around $10,000 there over the years, but they'll never see another nickle from me and I seriously contemplated a small claims lawsuit. read more

Went in to see why my a/c hadn't been cold since last year. After over 1 hour, the salesman said "to begin with" I needed a new coolant reservoir since mine had a crack, and couldn't start diagnosis until it was replaced for $189. There was no such tank in town, and they DO NOT MAKE APPOINTMENTS [walk-in suckers only], so I drove home still undiagnosed, and replaced it myself for under $16. He also said I needed $1900+ for new tires, PLUS balance & alignment. SOMEHOW I think they make big bucks in commissions. All windows haven't been cleaned in years, and the TV only shows shades of blue --- NOTE: there is a Best Buy with cheap WORKING TVs sharing the same parking lot. If I could give 0 stars I would. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. My husband initially called to make an appointment for me to get my spark plugs changed and was quoted around $275 for a 6 cylinder car by the manager Jeff. I show up to my appointment the next week and was told 30 minutes after they started working on my car that the initial quote was wrong and it was now going to take more than 2 hours to complete the job and the price would go up to $750! I explained that was not what we were quoted initially, so the guy at the front desk (unsure of his name) called the manager right then and talked to him. After they got off the phone, the guy at the desk apologized and said we were way underquoted but they would honor the initial quote from the manager. Unfortunately, I did not have the extra time it would take for them to finish the car that day, so I made an appointment for a different day. The guy at the desk told me he would make notes in my account and even printed me out an updated estimate and wrote on it that they would honor Jeff's original quote. I went back in today for my appointment and asked to confirm the price before they started. I was told it would be $600 now (not the $275 that was originally quoted). I explained the situation to the 2 guys at the desk, one being the same one who had previously helped me. I was told that this was a $1,200 job and would take over 6 hours and there was not way they could get the price down below $600. They basically lied and denied they promised to honor the original quote. Needless to say I canceled my appointment and walked out. But I have never experienced such blatant rudeness and unprofessionalism. It was very clear that they were just trying to take advantage of me because I am a woman and was there alone. I was in last week for an oil change, tire rotation, vehicle inspection, and one worn tire replacement. I was given a quote for four tires that was obtuse but I agreed to review it and get back with them. I went to my car 4 hours later and one tire was at 11psi. I called and said I would be in after a doctor's appointment I had been waiting for for 4 months. When I walked in, the rude serviceperson said 'so, you have a nail in your tire?' Uh, I have no idea what's wrong with the tire, but after leaving here it deflated to 11psi. He said to me 'am I hearing that you think WE did something?' No, of course not! Must have been a NAIL I ran over!! Turns out 'they believe upon topping up my pressure the valve got stuck, and when I reinflated it, it got unstuck.' Weird interaction of literally blaming the customer, but I've been a lifelong Firestone customer and recent transplant to Gainesville, so I agreed to do the four tires and booked an appointment for the following Wed. at 8AM. I asked how long to allocate and he said 2 hours. I arrived promptly at 8AM and at 9:35 I asked if we were on track to get me out at 10, as I had another commitment and was told to allocate 2 hours. He (different service person) said 'the tires haven't arrived yet.' I said, so I booked this appointment a week ago and you don't have the required parts? He said they don't get them ahead of time because 'of so many no shows.' He said - after I sat there for one hour and 35 minutes - that the tires were still an hour out since they don't start deliveries until 9AM. So I asked why they booked an 8AM appointment for me if they don't get the materials until the customer is already there, and you can't get the parts until EARLIEST sometime after 9AM. He said he would give me '$70 off one tire and $70 off the alignment.' They put my tires back on, I booked for the following day at 8AM after being there for exactly 2 hours. They did the work this AM and he said 'I took $70 off one tire and $50 off the alignment.' So again he didn't even do what he said he would do. Everything about these three experiences at Firestone on Archer Rd. was slippery, deceitful, customer blaming and outright weird. Why book a tire appointment for 8AM if you can't get the tires until sometime after 9AM at the EARLIEST? Why not communicate with me as I sat for one hour and 35 minutes, three feet away? Why book an 8AM appointment AT ALL when parts are needed that you don't prepare for ahead of time? I now have tire warranties and prepaid alignments and will be taking my business to another Firestone, and pull it completely if this is how they're managed now. read more

BEWARE! I visited 014141 Firestone Complete Auto Care 3744 SW ARCHER RD, GAINESVILLE, FL on May 23.2024. I dropped my car off at 12 pm for a 12pm oil change appointment. I returned at 1:30pm and the car had not brought in for service yet. I complained to the Service Rep and he said that they were busy, the fact that I had an appointment did not matter, and that the time that my car's oil change would be completed was uncertain. I canceled the service. He did not apologize nor offer and other assistance. I will not take my cars to this Firestone location or others in the future. I went to this Firestone location for an oil change, and later to have a tire puncture repaired. In both cases, they did a reasonable job, and my vehicle was returned clean, with all interior settings -- seat position, mirrors, steering wheel, etc. -- as I'd left them. This review is only neutral, because the attitude of the guys who deal with customers isn't great. The first time that I brought my vehicle in for an oil change, they didn't have the correct oil filter in stock, so that was a completely wasted trip. Part availability could have been confirmed over the phone, without waiting for me to drive out there. After the tire puncture was repaired, no one called to let me know my vehicle was ready. The guy at the desk knew my phone number. I'd given it to him twice, in person. If I had to choose, I'd pick workmanship over customer service, but it would be nice if I didn't have to choose one or the other. read more

This place is amazing. Upon walking in I was greeted and told someone would be with me in a moment as all attendants were busy with customers. That was very nice of them. When my turn came the attendant that worked with me was very knowledgeable. He gave me a quote offered some suggestions and got me started right away. He also was nice enough to tell me that the wait would be around 2 hours. I appreciate that as I'm not a fan of someone telling me things will be done in a few minutes then hours later still waiting. SO I was very impressed with him telling me it would be a several hour waits. While I waited I went and ran some errands at places within walking distance. When I returned 2 hours later my car was almost done. I was able to pay and be done. The best part is the attendant went over everything they checked and let me know what needed to be done to my car to make it safe. Best service ever. My son took his Ford Cmax here to get his battery replaced. When he picked it up the car would not start and they had to jump it. The tech assured him that it would be fine. After he got home the car would not start. He had to climb into the hatch from the inside of the car and found that there was a paper towel between the connection and the post. Also nothing was put back together I called the store and all Thomas the advisor kept saying was that it was my sons fault that he took the car. NO APOLOGIES of any kind. Went there today, had a front end alignment done on my 06 HHR, all I can say is WOW!!!! Service advisor Brian was fantastic. Very friendly well spoken A++++, really impressed me a lot. They were busy and he took time to explain everything to me. they did front end alignment like literally as soon as i got there no appt. and explained car needs a lower control arm, gave me work order explained everything, did not try to up sell me. I went in to get a simple oil change and it was the worst experience I've ever had at an automotive place. From the moment I walked in till I left was terrible. Right off the bat they were not friendly. Almost as if I was bothering them. I asked if I could get an oil change and they said I would be next and it would take about an hour and half. I went and walked around for an hour and a half and came back to my vehicle still sitting in the same spot. I go in and mention it and they say we'll pull it in now. The entire time while sitting in the cramp waiting room I could hear one of the employees saying F%*k you, numerous times. My car is finished and I pay $73.00 for a simple oil change. I Get out to my car and there is grease all over the door handle and door frame. I start my car and my dash says refill washer fluid. I go back inside and they tell me to pull it around back. He fills my washer fluid, and I asked if they checked the air filter and he said "I don't know" He said it requires a tool to remove the cover and I just said forget it! He said,"we thought you were in a hurry so we just did it quick". So you charge me full price but don't check everything? I get home and I'm upset. So I call and talk to the manager. He apologizes and says I can bring it in so they can check everything properly. Shouldn't you have done that in the first place? Do not waste your money at this place. The auto service and the customer service is the worst I've ever experienced!!! 0 stars. I paid $73. For someone to drain my old oil and put in oil and a filter. Never again read more

My wife and I were shopping at a local store across from the Firestone on Archer Road. It was late in the day, about 530 pm, and after shopping when we attempted to start up our Honda CRV, but the car refused to start and just about every error imaginable was displayed on the console. I was initially flummoxed and thought it was another wiring harness problem (we had already had 2 from rodent damage). However, I consulted my phone and found that these error messages related to a dying battery. We called a local battery distributor, but they did not have a way to get a battery to us. It looked like we were going to have to get a Uber ride to our house about 15 miles away and get another vehicle to come and jump the Honda. Then I noticed the Firestone across the street. Walked there in the rain. The guys there were very professional and courteous. Chad, John and Joe (I hope I didn't butcher that.) found the correct battery and John actually walked across the street with me with a portable starter, confirmed the battery problem, and jump-started the CRV. Above and beyond! And they were also in process of closing down operations for the day. Joe swapped out the battery efficiently and away we went. Totally satisfied. They kept the garage open about 15 minutes after normal closing time, another big plus. They were always professional with a good attitude. I will be returning for new tires soon. I was returning from Cape Coral with my dog to Atlanta. My car started making a strange noise so I pulled into a reststop and saw that the plastic/cardboard plate that covers the underside of the car was just hanging. It was hot and we had a long way to go home. Luckily I pulled into Firestone on Archer Road and from there things looked up. With just a small wait, the car was diagnosed and repaired and I was on my way. I can't say how much I appreciate everyone's help...competence and friendliness. This place is terrible. My daughter and I had just driven 12 hours from MD. I stopped in at this location because I had a flat tire. Still had 2 hours to drive to Tampa and I wanted my tire looked at before I finished the drive. One of the employees came out and said they were closing in 20 minutes and would ask the other employees if they could look at my tire before they closed. He came right back and said no one would look at my tire. Not being from this area and still having 2 hours to drive on the highway and it was going to be getting dark soon and it was just my daughter and myself I was afraid to drive the other 2 hours on a bad tire. I told the man that hoping someone could at least look at my tire but no one would help me. We were still sitting there in the parking lot when the shop closed and everyone left knowing we were stranded. read more

I'm giving three stars because in the past I haven't had any issues. My most recent visit also seemed fine until the next day. When I went in, the front end rep was Brian. Cool enough guy and comprehensive in his explanations. Went in for an oil change and to get some corrosion off my battery that I couldn't get to because I don't have all my tools at present. Leave it there and it's done shortly before close. Explains that there are no other major issues just some routine stuff to do in the next few months. Cool. Next day go to leave work and car won't start. Lift the hood and the corrosion I very specifically asked them to get is still there. To make matters worse they clearly sprayed the battery protection spray on and around it as evidenced by the red on the corrosion in the attached photo. I'm no genius of mechanics but if I saw that corrosion--even if I didn't have the front end rep explain to me the issue/cust request--I'd make sure to get rid of it. Don't do a partial job and charge full price. If the mechanics have time to socialize in the shop then they have a few minutes to remove the connectors on a battery and clean them. Will update based on my follow up visit in the next few days. read more

This firestone is pretty small compare to the ones I am accustomed to going too. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable they did a full inspection of my mo'mo (my rx350 Lexus) and she is in great shape, just needed her normal synthetic oil change. They also add the Firestone coupon even when you forget to mention it to them because they want there customers to be happy the wait is pretty lengthy so come prepared. The good thing is this location has several shops behind the store that you can go shop while you wait so yayyyy me lol. I ordered two tires from the Tire Rack, and had them shipped to this "Preferred Installer." That part worked fine. The preferred installer concept includes a guaranteed install price of $ 47.29, but when I asked their price, it had suddenly gone up to $ 74+, and it took a call to the Tire Rack to get them to honor the contract price. BTW, the desk guy, Ryan said that the increased price was their standard price, and that they did not have a deal with Tire Rack. Next they tried to tell me that I should put in new valve stems, and that would be extra. They did not have any in stock for my Audi A6, and when they called the dealer they were told those wheels had special valve stems which did not need to b3 changed at each tire change. It also took over 2 hours to change just two tires. The only thing they didn't do was to try to talk me into an alignment package! I would avoid these guys! (The installation did appear to be well done, however. It's just that they tried to exact more for the service than was fair or agreed upon. Caveat emptor, as in all dealings with service people.) read more

I left the place and that barring fixed absolutely nothing. I asked them to drive the car to diagnose the sound and to check the breaks because I believed this was the problem. They told me my breaks were fine, which they are not!! They are still making sound and now I'm driving on bad breaks!! This place sucks and they have no clue what they are doing. I had a flat tire and when the tow truck dropped off my vehicle they ripped off the bumper. Firestone was extremely helpful with this stressful experience that had absolutely nothing to do with them. Once I had time to figure everything out on my end (which took awhile) they were still willing to fit me in towards the end of the day even though their parking lot was full of cars. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and more than willing to go out of their way to help me with no hesitation. I do all my work here and it all gets done in a timely manner. I've always been treated decently and fairly here; waits are reasonably short and staff are very courteous. I do notice some of the usual upselling--after all, I have to trust the technician when they say my air filter needs replacing and that will cost an extra $25. AVOID this Firestone location. They are incompetent and lack integrity. My PREGNANT finance and I drove to Atlanta from Miami over the 4 day christmas weekend. We left on a Friday and returned on the following Monday. On the way north my car started making a noise followed by the engine smoking. I pulled off of the freeway at the next exit. The car NEVER over heated. The dial on the dash indicated a good temperature the entire time. I waited at a gas station for 10 minutes for the smoking to subside and then drove 15 minutes to a shop in Gainesville. They thought I was probably leaking coolant and told me told me to go to this firestone because they had the proper tools to do a pressure test. I got there at 6:40pm. They closed at 7pm. The man that helped me told me I would have to leave my car over night because they closed shortly but assured me they would look at it first thing in the morning when they opened at 7am. I booked a hotel. I called them shortly after 8am the next morning. I was told they were still diagnosing it. No call. We walked to the shop at 9am. They scrambled to give me an update. The car passed the pressure test and a block test. I was told I needed a new thermostat. The work in total would cost $369. Against my better judgment I gave them the okay to do the work. I was doubtful that was the proper fix since the car NEVER overheated. I told them at least twice the car never overheated according to the dial inside the car. I think they were reaching for a solution since they could find nothing wrong with the car. But they know better then me, and its better to be safe then sorry. I was told the work would take 2-3 hours. We walk back to the Hotel. Check out was Noon. We check out. My pregnant finance and I walk back to the shop with our luggage. They had NOT even started the work. The hood was still closed. Unacceptable. They had the car for almost 6 hours and did nothing. We took the car back out of frustration and drove the rest of the way to Atlanta. As soon as we started driving we noticed the AC was not working. We arrived after dark and only had one day to explore Atlanta. We drove back to Miami on the Monday. I took the car to my regular mechanic in Fort Lauderdale. There was no coolant leak and no need for a new thermostat. The AC compressor had cracked causing the noise and smoke I saw.
