I sent my sister to valvoline for an oil change and they tried scamming her on a new battery. she brought it to this Firestone to get a second opinion and the 3 mechanics here helped her test the battery, found it was completely fine, and looked over the whole car for her at no cost. after reassuring her that she was safe to drive they all refused any type of payment. Made appts for 2 cars for wheel alignments. One car had lifetime service and other car is one time pay. They made appt for 8:00 am for both cars. The first car went in at 8:15 ( this is the car we pay for the alignment). It was done in like 20 mins. Second car (the one that has lifetime alignment) went in at 9:30. WTH. Husband asked the front desk guy and he said there's was a car with urgent need. WTH. This isn't urgent care. When car was finally up on the lift, it took them only 10 mins to get it done. They would rather take the first car in that was paying and the one that has lifetime alignment in like 1hr and 30mins later. My advice is, don't pay for lifetime alignment cause you'll be waiting there for like what seems to be a lifetime. Don't waste your money here. Take your car somewhere else. Customer service. Mike the assistant manager or the person who just takes your information down does not listen to customers. I believe he is burnt out of this job. I have been going to this Firestone for 5 years and every time I get Mike I always have a problem with my car after it is fixed and he puts the blame back on me. The technician just tells him what happened and he tells me. No investigation, just pay to fix the problem. So I bought my car in for a simple oil change and the broke the oil pan screw. They told me it needs a new pan and it would be over $400.00. I explained that it was not broke when I brought it in. He just said they brake and that is the cost. read more

I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. They were done in under 20 minutes.. and that was including waiting for my car to get driven into the garage. I made mention of the quick turnaround twice..: the last time I gave him some deep eye contact lol. Brought my car in for a same day oil change (very accommodating for scheduling) however when I picked it up, I was charged $100 for an oil change. When I questioned the cost I was told "well the cost of oil is more expensive now" which didn't sit right with me at all. upon further investigation I saw they did a premium oil change instead of a standard oil change which is what I wanted thinking a young gal wouldn't catch on Estimates first people read more

Very unhappy with my visit. Was verbally quoted a price very casually of a few hundred dollars and was charged a great deal more. Yes there was a quote in my spam folder. I would think if your going to charge someone a couple thousand dollars you would sit and review the pricing with the customer and be sure they under stand....its called customer service. Called to make an appointment for an oil change. Was sent email confirming my appointment at 1 pm. I get there 1 pm for my scheduled appointment and was initially told I do not have an appointment. They said they were too busy and the call center should have have made this appointment. They tried to send me away but then agreed take me but Telling me my car wouldn't be ready until 7pm. I wanted my alignment checked since I paid for the lifetime alignment and my tires rotated since I recently purchased tires from this location. They told me they don't offer free tire rotation but I clearly shows online that they do. They get to my vehicle and complete the oil change, look at my tires and say it didn't really need a rotation. I get my recommendation of service needs and I am told my tires need to be rotate. I have been going to Firestone for years and this was by far the worst experience. should not be blamed for them being short staffed. It is not my fault that I called and made an appointment and then was made to feel like Inconvenience. If there was no appointments available they should never have confirmed my appointment. Then to try to charge me for something that your website and past visits show is a perk for purchasing the tires there. This is not good customer service. read more

We were traveling from out of town when our Jeep's battery light came on. It was the Saturday of a holiday weekend. We pulled into the Firestone in Freehold, NJ and had an amazing experience. The staff was incredibly accommodating. They had us in and out of there in 1.5 hours with a new alternator. They gave our 2 small boys snacks and put on PBS kids for them. They offered up some suggestions on places we could walk to around the area to kill time. Great customer service and quick/reliable service on our vehicle! read more

Awful experience. Just had 4 tires replaced and was told the alignment was off after the new tires we're out in the car. They therefore recommended that an alignment be done with the new tires. I agreed to let them do it. Now the car veers left when driven straight. When I brought the car back I was told that the subframe would have to be detached & reattached to the car so that the car would be able to drive like it did before they got their hands on it. I no longer have any confidence in these guys...and you shouldn't either!!! read more

Horrible! My son's car broke down an hour away. Firestone was open and said they would check the battery and the alternator. They expensively replaced the battery and said they checked the alternator and that it was fine. My son took the car back to school and broke down an hour away again. Firestone said they were not liable and that the car was fine when they released it back to us! Lots of money towing a car off the Turnpike and another tow, 2 times, to a mechanic to fix the alternator. Would never use this place again. read more

My friend and I were on the highway, and we got a flat tire. After AAA patched us up with a doughnut, the guys at this Firestone sold and put on the new tire for us in about 15 minutes, even though it was close to closing time. On 1/27/2017 I called and made an oil change appointment for my 2007 Lexus RX 350. I am the original owner. It never leaked oil. The next morning I saw oil stains on my paver driveway. I told them the problem and was told to bring it back, Kris, the manager,after putting it on the lift, that it was a faulty oil filter and changed it. I'm in my 70's and never heard this lame excuse before. He promised to get a product and would come and clean the stains off my pavers, he even shook my and when he said this. I called again on 2/02 IKris said he forgot about the stain even though I emailed him photos of them. I said it was still leaking. I brought it back to told them broke something and would replace it. He also said it was a 2 hour job and would provide me with a ride home. He used my car. He called again on the 2/3. He told me to return the next day. I did. The 2 hour job took over 3 hours. When he brought back my car he inspected my pavers. I asked where is the cleaner you told me you had? Oh, I didn't buy it yet. I told him it will cost $500.0 to replace the stained 23 pacers. I told him I'm taking him to small claims court. He is a liar and a fool. One oil change took 5 hours. I told him to get off my property. He thinks he was doing the right thing. Train-wreck of an establishment. Although the manager Jim is very nice and accommodating, the mechanics here seem to be much less than competent. My car has been sent back to me several times after repairs with other problems that were not there to begin with before bringing it in, causing much more inconvenience than is worth the money. They recently replaced a broken fuel pump (which was outrageously expensive) and returned my car with the fuel gauge broken. On another occasion, My car had cracked sway bars on the front and rear end, but they only repaired one side. Most recently, my car was returned with 2 missing lug-nuts and 2 loose lug-nuts from one tire. My tire was held on by 1 lug-nut for 2 weeks and was very close to falling off while I was driving. When I called to inform them of this, they said that it could not have been their fault. I find this to be unlikely, as I noticed a strange noise (caused by the loose tire) as soon as I picked up my car from their shop. I did not bring it back to them to fix because I absolutely no longer trust any of their mechanics with my vehicle. While my mother was there recently to pick up my car, there were 2 mechanics aggressively and loudly arguing with each other in front of all the customers. These mechanics need to be properly trained, and spend more time doing their job correctly than wasting time fighting. Do yourself a favor and go to a local family-owned mechanic. They take much better care of your car at much better prices. Firestone is ridiculously overpriced, and they quite simply do not give a damn about you or your car, just your money. read more

I brought in my 2014 Subaru Forester for an oil change. It is not hard to figure out that it needs full synthetic oil. After arriving 15 minutes early to my 3 pm appointment, I was told that even though I had put down that I was waiting, it was going to take over an hour. That irritated be to start off. But I brushed it off and went a couple stores down to grab lunch. I get the call that my car is done around 4:20 pm... I go to pick it up, they ring me up, I pay. As I walked to my car and read my invoice, I noticed that they put standard oil in my vehicle. That is a HUGE no no. That could potentially be catastrophic to my vehicle. I went back inside to tell them that they put the wrong oil in, and they went ahead and changed it out. They kept repeating that they didnt know how this happened, etc. I'm sorry, but if you have any idea about cars and are a certified mechanic, a light bulb should have gone off when their work order said standard and not synthetic for a SUBARU. But apparently their workers are too incompetent to realize that. They told me they wouldnt charge me for the synthetic like they were doing me a favor. They basically ruined my entire day and wasted my time. AND potentially harmed my vehicle had I not noticed. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. read more

I've been here about 5 times in the past 2 years and every time I drive away happy! I have a fairly complex car (Subaru STI) and alignments matter ALOT. If its done wrong ill notice right away. I have the lifetime alignment and its already paid for itself a couple times over. Never have I had a bad alignment here. They're friendly and courteous. They also don't treat you any differently because I'm a "Lifetimer". They have a Military discount which I find respectful. Will keep coming back as long as they stay this good. A+ read more

Recently bought tires with road hazard here at Firestone and picked up a wedge-shaped piece of metal this morning on the way to work. Unfortunately the tire was ruined but since it was so new (under 5000 mi) they replaced it for free just had to pay for a few minor shop items and the new road hazard warranty. Some other minor issues cropped up which the service reps promptly took care of for me. In and out quick...overall great service. read more

THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF!! Went there for a front headlight bulb. They said it would be an hour so I waited. then after an hour I saw the guy finally walk over and In 30 seconds put the bulb in and charged me $69.99 for bulb and 1 hour labor. Never again!! Few weeks later the other front headlight bulb went out and I went to a regular oil change place I got the oil changed and asked him to change the other front bulb and he charged me $7.00 read more

Ok: so my car takes a rather specific tire. Dealership wanted close to $500 for said tire and couldn't promise they could even find it in time for a trip. Decided to call these guys. As luck would have it, Nick answered phone. He was able to source unicorn of tire, and in fact it was on sale! I really feel they went the extra mile to help me, and let's be honest, it's one tire. Would have been 1 star except they did get my tires done same day. Bought tires online and had them shipped to this location. Received a call stating my tie rods were broken and couldn't do an alignment. They told me $300! The part is $15 on Amazon and I can do that myself. I told them put my tires on and I'll look later. I just looked under the truck. Nothing is broken. Nothing is leaking. Nothing is wrong. So what I believe is they didn't want the $34 profit on the tires I had them install. $80 for an alignment and $300 for something that was never broken. This is why I never take my car to a place like this. I had no choice my normal mechanic was renovating his shop. Buyer beware. Get a second opinion or look for yourself. read more

Let me start by saying that i think i've written maybe 2 reviews in my whole life, but i feel people are always so quick to complain and NEVER want to compliment, so here goes: I took my ford f150 to the FIRESTONE in FREEHOLD, with a problem that by the time i was done here would be soo massive that i now have to think about my options to fix it. That being said, the staff here, including the main person i dealt with Mr Jim Knaap, were by far the MOST HONEST, PATIENT, HELPFUL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, and just overall personable people i have EVER DEALT WITH when it comes to the automotive industry. The mechanics fixed one problem for me and when they realized it was much worse than everyone originally thought, they took the time to explain the problem and walked me over and showed it to me so i had a firm understanding of what the issue was, but then went a step further to explain in detail what all of my options were to correct the situation in lay mans terms so i had a full understanding and then went above and beyond to console me when i got upset once understanding the gravity of the situation. They treated me like a friend, and not some over dramatic girl who they did not have time for when the tears started to flow. i am soo very impressed with the EXTREME AMOUNT OF PROFESSIONALISM and EMPATHY that ALL of the mechanics and Mr Knaap showed to my husband and i, so much so that it would be MY PLEASURE TO RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICES TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE I KNOW. i will most certainly be taking my truck back there for the work that has to be done. Knowing it is an EXTREMELY SERIOUS, TIME CONSUMING, AND EXPENSIVE job, i have ALL THE CONFIDENCE IN THE WORLD that by taking it back to the Firestone in Freehold, it will not only be done in a timely fashion, it will be done in the MOST COST EFFICIENT and THOROUGH WAY POSSIBLE, with every detail paid attention to by the most HONEST and PROFESSIONAL PEOPLE i have EVER had THE PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH. Had my vehicle checked up on at this firestone prior to leaving for vacation due to a front end wobble and wanting the tires aligned, and after four hours, I was given a clean bill of health for my car after i was told that "everything was checked out". It turns out that after a month of driving, my right front tire was worn down to nothin and I had a broken tie rod. Further, it turns out that my tires were never rotated as I previous marked them prior to going into firestone. Called corporate office and they did nothing for me as i still had to pay $200 when i took it back to them. Avoid at all costs. Went here in May for an oil change only because my regular mechanic was closed. Waited an exceptionally long time. Eventually the man (I didn't know his name) comes out informing me I need new tires. Fair enough, it was our only vehicle at the time and it was logical. And, my lucky day! They had a special on tires today! When I come back, I am informed that it needs a wheel alignment, tune up, etc. and they tried to sell us darn near everything in the shop. My husband just got a job after extended unemployment so we are not in a place to drop money like that. We did agree to come back for the wheel alignment as we were told not doing so would void the tire warranty. Today (7/1/17) we return for the wheel alignment which we are told would be $79. We are then told we need new brakes. Again it's my lucky day! They are running a special on brakes! Should be between $270 and $300. The front brakes were done less than a year ago by my regular mechanic, whom I've been going to forever, and I trust completely. I'm told the rear brakes definitely need replacing and the front are discoloured due to "hard braking". My husband and I are the only drivers and do not drive rough. We tell them do the rear brakes and we will have our mechanic check the front. When we go back several hours later to get the car, it's still up on the lift. (They did attempt to phone while we were at the movies). They said that the calipers were rusted through and needed replacement - it's a difference of $20. The brakes were completely taken apart at this point so we agreed. My husband went to pay and almost fainted - the bill was in excess of $800! Over double what we were expecting even with the $20 difference. This put us in a serious financial bind. The worst part is this - the car drives worse than before. It shakes upon driving which it never did before and the steering wheel feels off. I am so upset thinking how much I may have to pay my mechanic to fix this mess. We each rely on our cars to get us to work and can't go without them for the time it may now take. Lesson learned painfully and hard. I will never, ever go to these rip off artists again. We've taken our cars to Firestone for routine service (tires, brakes, etc.) and have always been pleased with the service but want to single them out for recent extraordinary service. This past Saturday NJ was hit with torrential rains that rapidly flooded roads. Our daughter was home for the Thanksgiving weekend and had to drive through several flooded roads to get home that night. One spot was particularly bad as the water came up to the doors on her car. Several other cars did not make it through the flooded roadway. After driving through several flooded roads she heard some unusual noises from the car. Sunday morning the noises were gone but she had a 3 1/2 drive back to Virginia. We wanted to make sure the car was ok and called Firestone asking if they could check it out. We spoke with Mike (Service Manager) who was most understanding and said they'd look at her car. Mike and the crew at Firestone thoroughly checked out her vehicle and determined everything was ok. He was most sympathetic to our daughter having a long drive ahead and our seeking reassurance her car was roadworthy before she left. He generously did not charge us for their time examining her car. We were extremely pleased with the service performed by Firestone and the genuine concern for her safety exhibited by Mike and his team. read more
