AA (Asher is the mechanic) is the most honest and reliable auto shop I've ever been to. He shared with me his costs for the parts and where he marked up. He even helped me get a refund from another auto shop who overcharged me and didn't fix my check engine light. (Ended up getting back $200!!) Asher answers his calls 7 days a week. My A/C was not working and the owner (Asher) told me that I needed to replace the A/C condenser at a cost of $800. Shortly thereafter the A/C was not cooling again. I had my tire guy, who is also a mechanic, to look at it and he told me that the condenser was the original. I went back to AA and he gave me a song and dance routine telling me now that he only repaired the "clutches"? As it was fall, he told me he would address the issue in the spring, so I didn't push the issue. A short time later the A/C was not cooling again and as a result of loosing the coolant, my transmission went bad costing me $3,000 to replace it with a used tranny and a new condenser because "the A/C condenser and a dedicated transmission cooler are joined together, often with the transmission cooler being the top, thicker portion of the combined unit". In addition he did a brake job for my neighbor who found out that he installed the parts incorrectly. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY. read more

Ugh. Brought my wife's car here a couple of times. Changed a steering rack that was working fine and wouldn't show me the old part. Also changed the oil without asking. I've never had anyone change the oil in my cars ever and I've owned cars for 29 years. Brought my pick up in for new rear brake shoes because I didn't have time to do it myself. Took them all day because "they couldn't get the drums off". That would have been fine if my neighbor didn't see him driving it around with stuff in the back. So if you like paying for work that isn't necessary or stuff you didn't ask to have done and you don't mind if they use your vehicle to run errands without your permission than this is the place for you!! Otherwise stay as far away from here as possible. And as a side note, remember when gas prices were spiking 30 to 60 cents a gallon per day a few years back? The gas station here changed their prices 3 times a day that I saw which, aside from being unethical, is illegal in NJ. That's the mentality you're dealing with here. They only want your cash. And not for nothing, when a person brings in a pair of brake shoes and says put these on that truck, no diagnosis is required. Also, I've known my neighbor for 15 years. There is no reason for him to make up a story about seeing someone driving my truck around with stuff in it. And he has no skin in the game....not his truck, not his business. Just passing along what he saw just like I'm passing along their failure to show me removed parts after I asked to see them. I'm not interested in the garage's affiliation with the gas station. It was mentioned as a side note and that's all. Seems to me if there were 35 years of happy customers there would be more than just one review. Just sayin'.... I stand by my review. read more

Worst place ever. I wouldn't recommend this place if he was the last Mechanic on earth. Took my daughter car to his shop to fix the A/C he inspected it and charged me $100 for inspection. the diagnosis was that the compressor is broken, charged me a 1000 for fixing. two weeks later the A/C stopped working. took the car back and the new diagnosis is that condenser is broken and needs to be changed and since the condenser is attached to the radiator the radiator might need to be changed for a cost of about 800. to make things worst, i took the car for fixing less than a year ago to change the alternator. while we were in dis-accord about the A/C the alternator broke and needed to be changed which i had to take to another mechanic since i don't trust anything he touches. MY advice stir away from that place if you don't want to loose your car and money read more

This is the worst place ever you could go for car repair. Trust me I had my fair share of bad experience with repair shops but this one by far the worst. Simply trying to get car ready and up to par for inspection in the up coming months and after $700 of work not a single engine code was eliminated... why well because they did complete opposite of what I wanted from the start see I came for a full analysis of the car not an possiblity by elimination with deal and I can do that on my own but did I get the analysis not at all! My husband and I have used AA Auto repair on many occasions over the years. Not only is the owner HONEST and does excellent work, the shop is extremely professional and does it's work in a timely manner, but they are affordable and very fair. I am reading the reviews of a couple of people here and am completely shocked and suspicious of these reviews. Do not be fooled by them... I have sent many many friends and family members to Asher, and they all rave about his honesty, integrity and excellent work. His prices are fair, and has NEVER done work that was not needed. He even calls you to tell you the price before he does the work if he has to get you parts. So I am not sure where these reviewers are coming from, but if you are looking for an excellent, honest and professional to fix your vehicle, AA Auto is your best bet! Beware of these ridiculous reviews, as they are a false and defamatory review of one of the best garage/repair shops in the area... maybe they are competitors?? I brought my truck to AAA Auto in Freehold and was very pleasantly surprised. The service was technician was excellent explaining the problems with my brakes and he was able to fix them to perfection.
