I have road protection from another firestone. Went here to get a tire repaired. Called first and they insisted that I come in asap. Process would take 40 minutes. I asked if they would work on it right away or make an appointment. They insisted I come now. Drove in and then was asked to leave my car for a few hours because there were people ahead of me (??) Very bad communication. Still have a nail in my tire and now I have to make up the hour driving there and back from work with nothing to show for it. Frustrating. read more

My girlfriend needed tires on her car replaced, and also needed an oil change, so instead of her going to Honda or to Costco to purchase tires I made an appointment for her to go to Firestone in Fairview, NJ. That was a huge mistake on my part. When she arrived, 10 minutes before her appointment time, she met Emilio, the store manager. Emilio gave her a quote for "the only tires they had in stock" (not the tires that we found on the Firestone Fairview NJ website that said they had 10 of), and also gave her a quote for a $96 synthetic oil change. She did not want the expensive synthetic oil, but that was the option Emilio gave her. Later on, we found that Honda charges a bit less for the same service. She called me at work to let me know that going to Firestone of Fairview NJ was a complete waste of her time, and that she was going to the Honda dealership instead. read more

God.. so many things went wrong... For starters, 2 out of the three gentlemen I had to deal with were extremely hostile right out of the gate (even when making an appointment on the phone). Like, dude, I want to do business with you be a little friendlier and if that's not your thing then get another job... Whatever, maybe they had a rough day. Get ready for part II They said it was going to take two hours, It ended up taking the whole day (just to swipe tires..), they lost my keys and ended up calling me on the phone... "SIR, the key is not in there, you never gave is the key"... Um.. excuse me? After wasting time trying to explain them that I DID they found them "in the counter", I literally handed them the keys... but that's okay, mistakes happen.. Oh Wait, Part III I also requested to do probably the simplest thing a mechanic can do, swap a fuse. They "forgot", when pointing this out, the employee said it's not in the receipt, I'm like "It is in the receipt, check it". Then he changed his answer to "yeah yeah they probably tried to fix that but MAYBE THEY FOUND A PROBLEM IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PF THE CAR SO THEY ENDED UP NOT DOING IT" ... ... Went to an auto parts store and replaced myself, works like a charm ... Please stay away, you don't need to deal with these people. Stay away from Firestone Complete Auto Care on Boston Road like you would the PLAGUE. I went there a few weeks ago because I had a leak in my A/C. They recharged my a/c with Freon and a special dye that detects where the leak is coming from. I was told to come back in three days to give the dye a chance to run through the a/c system. When I went back, they said that I didn't have a leak. Two weeks later, the Freon had all leaked out again and my a/c was blowing hot air again. They said that the work was Guaranteed for one year. It was impossible for me to book another appointment because all the days/time slots were booked. I took my car to a mechanic that was recommended by a friend and they put the dye in again and found the leak in the condenser. The problem was staring FIRESTONE RIGHT IN THE FACE and they failed to find it. This is a Stark warning, STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE!!! You have been warned!!! read more

Showed up for my appointment and was told it would be an hour and a half until they could even look at my truck. Then 1:45 later they tell me what's up and they can order my brake pads I'll be done in an hour and half . It's been four hours now and the parts still aren't here. 4 plus hours for rear brake pads. I went here to get a new set of tires for my Cadillac SRX back in January and while in the shop, they called me telling me I needed to replace my outer tie rod on the driver side due to too much play and that fixing it was an extra $200. So I got it serviced and got my new tires. Just today I went to a different mechanic shop to get my cv axles and control arms replaced, come to find out that the outer tie rod of the driver side was never replaced and got scammed for $200. So I took my car to get an oil change. Now before you read this next part, please realize that I'm the son of a mechanic whose blue collar work ethic makes me the man I am today. That said, upon sizing up the IQ of the gentleman behind the counter, I felt compelled to repeat the following statement about seventeen times. "Please make sure you check the tire pressure and top it off as needed." I then requested they change my wiper blades, to which I got the response "aight yo but we running mad late so it's gonna be like a hour." That did not surprise me since there was a guy arguing with them about a half assed job they had done in aligning his tires. And convincing him that the job had been done correctly while he threatened to call the police unless given a refund, might have set them back a few cars or so. After being told that my wiper blades could not be changed since I'm of the sizes was out of stock, I paid for the oil change and headed home. The next day I checked my car only to discover that my tires all had 4 different psi readings and the fluids had not been topped off(as it should have been included in the service) In closing if you're thinking about having you car serviced here, do the following instead: 1. Take the trash out, but don't put it in a bin. Instead open your sunroof and empty contents of said trash bag. 2. Park your car in the park adjacent to Firestone tire. 3. Allow 2 to 3 days to pass so that raccoons and skunks have ample time to take up residence in your vehicle. 4. Get in your car on day 4 and select a spot on the cliff facing east on Blvd East then step on the gas, thus thrusting you and your vehicle into a catastrophic dive like you see in Hollywood movies. 5. If you survive, step out of your vehicle and examine the heap of steel that used to be your car, which by now should be engulfed in flames and know that your car is better off now than if you brought it to this Firestone location. read more

I get an email response wanting me to speak to someone there, called and was told I had to bring car in. Online price ranges from $295.-$380. Gave him make and model year. I would give zero stars for this place. PLEASE do NOT go here. Worst customer service. Went there with simplest of problems and wasted my day. I had a flat tire. The guy did not even care to give an ETA and rudely said that he will give a call when its complete. They took 3hrs just to tell me that i will need a new tire. When i went back to order the tire, they did not even care to tell me anything about the problem or any details about ordering new tire. They just gave my car keys back and told that i can go. I went to a local tire repair shop later and had my flat tire fixed in 20minutes for 20$! I cant understand why this place has less than 4 stars. These guys took my 1995 Mitsubishi vr4 Spyder, a highly technical car, and spent the time to diagnose and fix a wheel vibration that another (un-named shop) had created 5 years back. I had multiple other shops try to solve the problem in previous years. I was at the point of selling the car thinking there was un-resolved frame damage to it. When I picked up the car after they had it in the Firestone shop for a couple days of attentive care it was like new. They went into the deep details of what was wrong, some of which were actually very stupid mistakes made by the previous shop. This is not a churn and burn shop. Emilio the manager treated me and my car like I was a family member. I do not write a lot of reviews here but this shop definitely deserves a better review and rating than they have at the moment. The price for what they did was much less than it had expected and honestly I would've paid just about anything to have this priceless car brought back to life. These guys are amazing, I wish I had the name of the guy that did the work as he was just as awesome. I usually work on my cars myself because I do not trust shops. I waited 2 days for 2 tires. Saturday to Monday. When I dropped off the car on Monday, I received a call back about 2 hours later, stating that the tires will not be delivered. I walked back to Firestone from my home, after walking home from the appointment. I feel the service writer should have confirmed that the tires were being delivered on the day of my drop off. There was no one in line and I feel it would have been the right thing to do Unfortunately, it was a total waste of time and the repair never happened because I took the car back. We decided not to take our car here again. We inquired about getting new brakes. We told them the exact make, model, and year and asked for a price. They guy said they don't cut/resurface the rotors on foreign cars, so the price depends on the cost of new rotors. The guy claimed the rotors are "composite" even though we told them that they are STEEL not COMPOSITE. We asked if that is the policy for foreign cars, and he said not exactly policy. The rotors are obviously steel and THEY said several times that these are usually "composite" -- which is BS. We told the guy they are STEEL. The price for brakes would have been $185 front or rear -- for their "Standard Brake Service" which is just putting on new brake pads. The brakes that they were including for that price are from Advance Auto Parts. They wanted to charge more for Wagner, etc. I would not take my car here again, because we no longer trust them. Absolutely not. As for the comment from Corporate below, they don't seem to have a grip on what their customers are being told and we have no interest in discussing this with them. read more

I went in to get my front brakes/rotors checked because I heard a "whopping" sound in the front. They said the sound is happening because of brakes are rubbing against the rotors in the front. The sound was annoying so I got it fixed, signed and didn't care to look at the receipt. (my mistake) However, the sound wouldn't go away so I went in again to get it checked out but they pointed out how they replaced the rear brakes and I signed the papers on it. I couldn't believe my eyes. When the car was first getting inspected, told them that the sound is coming from the front and I got my rear brakes and rotors replaced last summer. But they just replaced my fresh brakes and rotors in the back. The owner kept saying that I signed the papers and that there is nothing he can do. As so many things were going through my mind, the owner took me to the back and showed that the issue is the tires and let me know how to read the tire's manufacturing year and week. They were a bit old, but why didn't they point out the front tires during the first inspection? Because of the two very different inspections, I was very confused. And when we got back to the counter, the owner told me that I have to replace all 4 tires. Weird. I replaced my rear tires when I got my new brakes and rotors last summer. So I asked him to go back to the back with me and see the manufacturing year and week. It said "50 19", which means 50th week of 2019. He told me that he is sorry and offered 50% discount on labor cost. As a West New York resident and a car owner, I am concerned on the professionalism of the mechanics (replacing new brakes and rotors because the "work order/paper-said-so") and of the honesty of the owner (telling me that all 4 tires need to replaced so casually - I could have ended up replacing yet another set of auto part). I have been reaching out to corporate, but all the managers have been unresponsive. And they make it as hard for your to make a formal complaint. I know someone from corporate may leave a comment here saying to please reach out to this number/email, but I know that doesn't help. I post this long review so that people won't make the same mistake as me of: 1. relying on only one auto shop for quote 2. completely trusting an auto shop because it looks "safe" because it's a franchise 3. tending to trust other people I hope fellow West New Yorkers or any other people who may be visiting this store would think again before visiting this place and please, please protect yourself and get to know your car better because it will save money for you in the end. Long story short - brought it in to do an alignment, as I had purchased the lifetime alignment a while back The last 3 times I took it in, they have refused to do the work - stating some 'issue' doesnt allow them align the car. Still, I have paid for a service which I expect to receive, and brought it back for another attempt to align. "We can not align your car, your wheel bearings need to be replaced". I allowed the sales manager to go through his routine to the tune of $400 or so dollars. Mind you, I, personally, had changed the wheel bearings (all of them) a week before. I asked for the car back and had it aligned elsewhere, without issues. Their lack of knowledge, at best, and predatory policies toward their customers, at worse, is sickening. read more

Spoke with a Gabriel who informed me that Firestone is unable to install "used tires" on wheels, despite the fact that they're Firestone tires and are being swapped to new wheels due to one of my rims cracking. I don't see the difference between this and changing tires for summer/winter which I've done about 10 times before. As a result, my business will be taken elsewhere now and in the future. I've literally never spoken to someone as inept as this guy and Firestone should be ashamed he's representing their name. Don't listen to people who post negative reviews about this location...my experience was very different from others, I needed a tire change and the representative Emilio was extremely helpful and offered me a wheel which was very good, they took me in right away and finished within 30 minutes and I was out of the door...the pricing of the wheel and the service was less than $250. Lack of customer service and too expensive for mediocre work / Hazleton PA location. Worse place to consider using for inspection or any other car service. It's a complete ripoff. 1 they charge too much and 2 the work is mediocre. I took my car for inspection in April, they pass my emission but failed me for safety because they said that my windshield's crack is no longer passable by PA's law. They wanted 600$ to change my windshield , so since it was covered by my insurance, I got it done for free with safelight. Long story short, They told me to bring the car back to get the safety inspection sticker once the windshield was fixed. Yesterday, I took my car back and some guy there , who said he's the manager said that I had to bring my car back at a later date , since the mechanic who did my initial inspection wasn't in, that's if I wanted not to pay another inspection in full. Or opt to pay another $80 and have someone else reinspect my car. They are a ripoff , their business suffers and they want to find ways to make money. Couple of years ago, they charged me $100 to fix my rear light signal. 6 months later it stopped working and had to take my car somewhere else to have it fixed. Not sure what they did for $100. Years prior I paid them significant $$$ to fix another problem , which recurred a year later , that they fixed 2nd time around since it was still under warranty. Had a really bad experience today at this place. I called early in day to book for a simple oil change appointment. They asked me to come for 3:00 PM and it'll take a total of 45 mins max. I reached at 3:00 they said we are backed up and it'll take a little longer but should be done by 4:30. I waited there only and at 4:30 they said you are next. Throughout this time I see my car standing outside in parking, they haven't even taken it inside garage. Around 5:00 I asked again and they said it'll take at least 45 more mins as they are backed up. I asked them for my keys and left with my car. I wasted 2+ hours of my day sitting there and now I have to plan for appointment in another place. I don't understand why these guys don't act honest and avoid a horrible experience for everyone. Terrible service, the employees are straight up lazy I took one of my cars for an alignment and I was told one of the bolts was rusty, and because of that they can't finish the alignment, like for real a rusty bolt is a big problem that is stopping them for doing their job, the "mechanic" can easy heat up or something similar the rusty bolt and remove it. read more

If there were "negative stars" I would use one. I have been to this Firestone off and on over many years (at least 10). On past occasions, the only real problem would be finding a parking spot in the lot in the morning - they were usually that busy. That was not the case today. I dropped the car off for a routine oil change, and to fix a slow tire leak. After about an hour, they called me and told me that I needed all new tires, a differential fluid replacement, an alignment and additional services that would have cost several hundred dollars all in all. I said "no" to all of it. I asked about the condition of the tires (specifically the remaining tire tread depth). I confirmed that the tire treads were all in required limits, and there was no other issue with the tires. That's not the worst of it. On asking about completing the tire repair, the service manager claimed that he would not patch any tire over five years old, as a matter of policy. That's right - they would as soon have someone drive off the lot with a leaky but otherwise ok tire, putting them at risk and forcing them to go elsewhere. On picking up the vehicle, I pointed out that I had the transmission fixed just recently, and the differential fluids were replaced then. Which begs the question - why did I need an expensive differential fluid replacement? This time, he claimed it was because they went off of mileage alone. On my way out, I pointed to the sign over the service center door. The main premise of the sign was a quote from the founder of Firestone, about "fundamental honesty." I think this place had it at one time, and I think their departure from it partially explains why the parking lot was so empty in the morning. Postscript: I took the vehicle to another local service station. As it turns out, there was not a leak in the tire - the rim was a bit dirty causing air to leak out, and it just needed to be cleaned off. read more

This place is a NIGHTMARE where Freddy Kruger himself won't even go! It's like taking your money and setting it on fire for no reason! First off, I've lived in the area for many many years, and I have NEVER heard anything good about this place. When I was in high school (1998-2001), I would hear horror stories about this place... like lug nuts not being tightened on tires, or get this... not even doing the rear brakes, but charging for them. I also heard that the people here will always try to sell you something that you don't need, like they'll FIND something wrong with your car and then try to convince you that you need it. Here's my story: I needed a simple plug in my tire. Since I'm somewhat "Mechanically Inclined," I took my tire off and found this tiny little hole. I didn't want to drive far, I didn't want to bother anybody, and so I decided to set the record straight. Who knows, maybe things have changed by now... WRONG!!! I pull up, and actually roll my tire to the front desk. I knew something was fishy, when the salesman is telling this female customer in front of me, which might I add was by herself, that she needed a new tire since they found 3 nails in hers! Not 1 or 2... 3!!! I was like, how on earth does someone get 3 nails in one tire? I guess bad luck that's how. I still wasn't judging them at this point, so she paid and went on her merry way. Anyhow, it was nearing closing time at this point, and I explained my problem. I said I need a patch, and I'll even wait. (That job usually take like 5 minutes) They said, that it's late and that they were finishing up a job. Could I pick up the tire the following morning? I said sure, I was then told they charge about $21 and some change for that simple patch (tire disposal, taxes, and their rip off fees). I guess they need to make money some how, who cares. This one mechanic comes out and starts to roll the tire into their little shop of horror, when he stops and asked the salesman in Spanish if this was a new tire... Not for nothing, you're the mechanic, and yes it was less than a week old. I must've caught a bad break in road and ran over a nail or something. Anyways, before the salesman could even answer him, I said "Yes it's new." With being Italian, I understand a little Spanish. The following day, I get the phone call that I need a new tire since they found 2 holes! Are you kidding me? I said don't do anything. I get down there to go pick up my tire and before I could say anything, he goes we'll take care of you. it'll be about $180 plus (the other charges)... it came out to $217!! I said, give me my tire back. I walked out, and gave the tire to my brother-in-law (the person I didn't want to bother), he works at a VW dealership and he said, "Someone definitely made the other hole. There's no way in hell that this tire had 2 holes in it." He patched it up, and the tire is still on my truck today. Do yourself a favor, don't waste your time.
