Avoid at All Costs! I wanted to buy tires, so I got a coupon from www.firestonecompleteautocare.com for Firestone FR710 which was valid for "Buy 1 tire get 2nd at 50% off". So I printed the coupon and also called them verifying that they would honour the coupon printed off the web. Spoke to a girl named Stephannie and she told me that if its on the Firestone website then they would honor it. I live about 7 miles away from this store and that why I called before driving there. After reaching the store and asking for tires, they said that they don't accept the coupons. When I told them that I spoke to Stephannie, I was told that she told me that will look into it but did not promise anything. I told them to go to the website and check about the coupon themselves. They reluctantly checked it and said that they would honor it and gave me a quote for Tire plus Installation (which was $37.5 per tire). When I said that I don't want to install at their store, they balked and told me that they would only give me discount if I did the Install at their store. I left their store after telling them that should not mislead people. This store had very hostile environment. I felt like I was committing a crime by asking for discount. Complete rip off. I drove my car here and I was told that it need to be towed unless I get it fixed and spend $2400. After few hours manager called me and told me not to put a bad review and he will refund some money. When I tried to get some money back , I was told to come next day. I was suppose to get $100 rebate from third party vendor. When I called them I was told you are not eligible. Stay away from the place. read more

I absolutely love this Firestone. It can be time consuming, but the guys there always make you feel like you are home and amongst family. The manager Pat is the best. He makes sure he explains everything that needs to be done to your car and what has to be done now and what can be done later. They may be a bit expensive but the staff there is very honest. They took the time to explain everything to me and even showed me the broken parts of my car. I was driving with my two small children around 6pm and my car alerted me that my tire was losing air. I ended up making it to Firestone before the tire went totally flat and they were able to service my car immediately. Customer service couldn't have been better! I sat in the sitting area with my baby and toddler and they came over to me with updates when they could've easily made me go up to the desk. Long story short, they ended up patching the tire (I have tire insurance with my dealer) so even though this may not have been the biggest job they get 5 stars for customer service. read more

This place is by far the worst experience I have ever had. First, I would like to say these mechanics do not know how to lift a vehicle. While I took my car to get serviced for a simple oil change and tire rotation. I noticed I had two adjacent dents on each side of my car. Immediately, I called the facility, and an employee said the manager would not be in the next day. When the manager Pat called me he wanted to know what happened, and requested for me to come in because he claimed "I don't think my lifts could have done this because they are rubber". The same day I went to the facility and he made me wait for about ten minutes. When he talked to me he was more concerned about putting my car on the lift than even seeing the damaged. I told him "wouldn't you rather see the damage first." When I showed him the two adjacent dents under my panel he just shrugged his shoulders. He took my car back on the exact lift that damaged my car, and took pictures without my consent. He didn't explain anything to me what he was doing with these photos. However, the next thing he did was tell me, he was not responsible for the damage, and I know how it is because I work in retail. However, it was very clear the dents matched up perfectly to the lifts that were not rubber and were metal! I was so upset because I know for a fact this place damaged my car. I then called the claims department at firestone, and they were very polite and reached back to me. But, they said this facility claimed they are not responsible for my damaged and I have to wait for the area manager Jon for the final say. I am extremely disappointed and upset this place treated me this way. They damaged my car and are not even taking full responsibility for what happened! I do not recommended this shop at all to anyone for the risk of them lifting your car the wrong way and damaging your vehicle!!! I have never been this upset and treated this poorly for service I paid for! Do not go to this place! Rude and cheats. In the name of checking tire pressure, they replaced 2 wheel nuts on my front wheel. When I approached them about it, they were in complete denial mode, trying to make me look stupid as if I did not know the difference between checking tire pressure and tire rotation. I recently had a negative experience with Firestone Complete Auto Care. I've been going to this same spot for the last 3 years to get my car repaired. Never had an issue, they were always very honest. Usually work with Dave. Great guy. The employee that was working with me was a new face to me, I forget his name, maybe it was Fernando? And to be honest had that not trust worthy look that you don't want to see walking into a repair shop. Black slacks, black turtle neck, gold chain gold bracelet. Anyway, I took my car in because my brakes weren't feeling right. Upon inspection he calls and tells me I need new pads, new calibers, and one other thing, I forget what it was. This was putting me $800 dollars in the hole. I said OK, do it, I need to have safety above all else when driving. As I waited for the repair to be done it dawned on me, I was just here about 2 months ago with the same complaint and they said nothing appeared to be wrong, my brakes just needed to be cleaned. So when I went to pick my car up from the $800 dollar repair I mentioned this and asked why nothing was caught then, after all I could've saved money if even one of these problems was mentioned earlier. He did not make eye contact with me, as he told me, the guy probably noticed the brakes needed to be cleaned and stopped there. So, yes he basically said they did not do a thorough job last time. He then proceeded to ask if I wanted to sign up for a membership card for a discount, no empathy, no apology, no efforts to improve my experience (um, no I don't want a membership card, I won't be back after this) . They are rude, i had confirmed online appointment at Saturday 5 pm, on reaching there , the rep said he can't do it, online appointments are not always "perfect".. What the hack ... Then a second rep jumped in and he explained that i can leave the car until close and i "choose" to wait if i want, with the promise of try.. They can't confirm if it will be done, and top of that he says I should appreciate as he is doing this "much" for me... All that is for oil change... Utter rude staff.. Wud never go there... I have only had positive experiences here. The manager, Pat, always gives you the straight truth and doesn't try to nickel and dime you. The staff is personable and I've even been brought into the service bay so they can explain what is going on and point out the various repairs needed. I own a jeep with over 200,000 miles and its longevity is due in part to this Firestone and their work. read more

The absolute WORST experience at Firestone on Parsonage Road, Edison NJ!!!! If I can give less than 1 star I would! PAT COYLE the Managing Partner is a complete SCUMBAG and lacks customer service skills! My friend needed an oil change and her AC wasn't properly cooling (it was 95+ degrees out) Her car was over heating (which was caused because the car was improperly circulating coolant) He said he had to do a diagnostic evaluation that would cost more money to find out what's wrong with the car (why it's over heating). When my friend questioned him regarding the diagnostic evaluation and fee he made a snarky comment and said, "you're really concerned over the extra money for the diagnostic" (in a sarcastic tone). When she came back to my car and said it didn't sit well with her the conversation she had with him regarding her repairs, I decided to go into Firestone and speak with him myself. When I questioned him regarding the need of the diagnostic evaluation he got defensive, sarcastic and snippy with me. Not once did he speak to me or my friend in a kind manner. He kept talking down to us as if we were stupid. At one point he suggested my friend get a tow truck to take it to a mechanic since the car is overheating..... which I thought was ridiculous. He said he can't work on the car without a diagnostic because he stated it would be a "liability." Since my husband is knowledgeable with vehicle repairs I knew PAT COYLE was giving my friend the run around and she would end up with a large bill following his unnecessary suggested diagnostic. Once he started getting sarcastic and snippy with me, I returned it by getting loud with him. After he and I went back and fourth and he continued to be disrespectful, I demanded my friends car keys back. He then said I was unladylike because I called him an A**hole and D**k, which was rightfully so after he continued to have a disrespectful tone with me. He also said I should have my husband come in since I claimed my husband was knowledgeable in car repairs...... I doubt he would really want my husband visiting him after I tell him how disrespectful he was!!! END RESULT: I told my friend to go to Valvoline on Parsonage Road just down the street from Firestone, which is what we did. They flushed the coolant line & did the oil change and it was FIXED in less than 20 minutes!!!! The car is no longer over heating!! I find it amazing how I was able to accomplish what needed to be done in less than 20 minutes with Valvoline, yet PAT with his so called knowledge about cars COULD'NT..... so who is the idiot now??!!!! I would recommend VALVOLINE any day over Firestone! They were knowledgeable, respectful and got my friends car fixed right away! I definitely would suggest PAT COYLE from Firestone get a refresher course on proper customer service. No, the customer is not always right BUT you should treat ALL customers with RESPECT! In this case PAT COYLE was WRONG and might I add ...... he's a sleezeball with a sarcastic mouth who just wants to tack on unnecessary charges $$$......... This place provides super quality of service. My car has been under storage for about 9 months in outdoor situation. I consulted Firestone over the phone about the possibility that the car might not get running over the New Jersey's no mercy weather. Tom reassured that he would have it checked ASAP. The car was delivered to Firestone after jumped. Again, Tom said he would check all major systems since I needed the car to travel more than 500 miles away soon. You know what, In just a few hours later, I got my car with all systems and safety checked, and also tire rotation with the words saying that it has been running well. The next day, I used the car to travel to midwest area in a very smooth way without any component failure for actual 550 miles. They have done a great job. I needed my breaks changed a couple months back and so I called Firestone for some pricing. They gave me a price of $175 for breaks and rotors. I thought it was too good to be true so I asked them to repeat it. They said $175. I brought my car in very happy and excited at the price. I confirmed when I got there that the price would be $175. I go to pick up my car and I find out that it is $350. I speak to the rep, the manager etc. No luck. So I call another location--the guy tells me $175 on the phone. I put him on speaker and ask him to repeat it. He does. The manager still refuses. I call the corporate office. They tell me they can do it for $250. Ridiculous!! I will never go back to another firestone again! Very upset! read more

I'm pretty irritated. I went to this location for a new battery, brake pads etc. I spent more than $800 for everything. Afterwards I noticed my automatic power windows was not working. I figured there was probably a switch or button that was accidentally pushed. Since I'm an ER physician, it took me until now to go back. I could've looked it up myself but I figured since I work close to this location and since the problem happened after they installed a new battery, I'd go back to them. The idiot at the desk tells me that the battery and my windows hAve nothing to do with each other. He says he has to take my window panels apart and do a "window diagnostic" on my car that will take a few hours. I left and did a google search. Apparently in my car this is a problem that many other ppl have had when they change the battery and all you have to do to fix it is reset the automatic power windows which takes 30 sec. I mean I know as a mechanic you don't need very much education but at least know about your one field of expertise. read more
