I've been to this Firestone in the past and I've always had a great experience :) But yesterday I went in very worried inquiring about replacing my breaks and some other issues my car had and Gary was beyond helpful!! Took my car in right away and very patiently explained to me what my options where, I have zero knowledge about cars so I truly appreciated meeting someone as kind and helpful as him. Also even though it was raining and it was past closing time, he stayed and made sure my car was safe and all fixed up. CARELESS. I had a set of tires delivered here from tirerack. I had also bought new rims to have the tires installed on. They did a good job with the new rims and tires. However when I got home and looked at my old rims 2 of them were scratched up to the point where I can't even sell them any longer. I'm probably out about $300-400. Then when I called to tell them what happened, and here is the reason for the 1 star review, he said he was sorry and they tried to be careful. Despite the fact that they are supposed to be the experts, that was it. No offer to make it right, nothing. Just sorry. Well sorry doesn't take the scratches off my rims! Never again. read more

Took all day to find out they didn't even put my brakes on correctly then they closed and I was unable to return to have them fixed elsewhere which apparently ends the warranty but I had no choice i tried to talk to the manager the following day and he completely dismissed me rudely talk to me offer no help or resolution I've never seen such a bad customer service when they damaged my vehicle I would recommend this place to only people that I hate. SCAM - I went in for an inspection because my check light signal was on. I was told it was $99 for an inspection. I said I've gotten scanned for free before. He agreed that scans are free but pushed the $99 inspection. I asked if I could do the scan to which he said he didn't have a scan to work with my car. I have a 2007 Mercedes, nothing out of ordinary. Don't go there if your a woman--- THEY WILL TRY TO RIP YOU OFF! Lost all possible business for life. read more

They will forget to put the cap on your oil tank so that oil shoots all over your engine, give you an attitude when you really need an apology and then quote you $500.00 for brakes that you do not need. Went to this location off of 17th Street in Costa Mesa and was quoted $500.00 by Jason for brakes. I went to my Toyota dealer to get a second opinion and they said I did not need new brakes. I let Firestone change my oil and they left the cap off so oil was all over my engine. They did not apologize and lied and said we may have a leak. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out to put the cap on! The manager told us to bring it back for a clean up. I did and they failed to clean it . read more

These guys are the worst Firestone I have ever been to by far. I bought tires on March 23, 2013, only to be told (at another location because of the tire warranty) today while I am getting new axels on my car, they were not installed or balanced correctly. When they installed the tires initially, they "felt funny" so I called to ask what it could be and they acted like I was bothering them, but said to come by Monday morning. Of course it was inconvenient, because I work in Downtown LA, but I also drive 35 miles each way, so I wanted the tires to be safe. Sure enough, they had not checked the pressure on a simple tire install, plus the guy was a complete asshole. NEVER AGAIN and you should beware of these guys. It is no accident that some of these reviews are 5 years old, but they are all the same, BAD. so clearly they don't care. As a girl, I tend to feel hustled when I go into have repairs on my car and feel over sold on certain things. I do not have that feeling here at this shop. This review is for service done a few months ago. I have a lifetime alignment deal for my car and came in for a routine alignment and tire rotation. Sam, the manager at the front desk, greeted me and quoted an estimated time of 2hrs. Service was completed just under the 2hr mark. Sam explained that my car has a leak and suggested I put in a dye for $50 and come back another time to have it checked. He also explained how I needed new shocks and struts. The estimate was well over $1,000. Make sure to get a second opinion before agreeing to have work done on your car. Took my car over to Big O Tires in Tustin who were able to determine the leak came from the power steering pump and that my shocks and struts were fine. read more

I went in to get my AC system checked, which is not a very long procedure, for the record. I got there at five thirty, they close at six. I waited in line for twenty minutes before anyone spoke to me. After that, at five fifty, I told the girl at the front desk what I needed, she looked at me, sighed and said "can't you just come back tomorrow, we close in ten minutes!" Had appointment for 6:30 for my daughters car because I work till 6 and when I got there at 6:15 they told me 8-9 pm they have a sign that says tires installed 59 min or less. It's 6:45 car still in parking space not looking good. Been going to Firestone dealer in long beach for 20 years but changed jobs!! My loss I'm stuck here! If tires didn't have metal showing I would leave and go somewhere else. Don't come here!!!!!!!! Last time I came here they broke the nut on oil pan. Fixed it 2 hr later and offered free oil change. Horrendous brake job - almost killed me. this place has the worst technicians in the entire great STATE of California!!! The guy Aaron should be FIRED. His team performed my brake job wrong and when I drove back at the end of the day, I was left to Uber home because they literally put the wrong brakes on my vehicle. Pros: Was able to drop off and pick up in about an hour. They were not very busy (maybe for a reasons..). Pricing was competitive. Cons: Went in for a simple tire rotation and they put my tires PSI well over 47. My car is recommend to be between 30-37 at most. This set my tire warning light off while driving on the freeway. Had to pull over to check out my tires. Very inconvenient being it was 1 am. Called them the next day and they confirmed they added air, with no explanation for the amount they put it. Something so simple and easy yet they somehow dropped the ball. read more

I've dropped more money here, over the years, than I'd like to admit. Is this place as cheap as a local hole in the wall garage? No. Are they as bad as a dealer? Definitely not. Unless you have a friend or family member working at a shop, it's a crap shoot getting your car worked on. I hate taking my car to the dealership, not just because of the price, but because they will recommend any service that could possibly be done on your car. I think Firestone is a good middle ground between dealer rip off and hole in the wall. The hole in wall's might be cheaper, but they don't tend to be as sophisticated, either. I love their lifetime alignment and tire balance. Every time I bring my car in for an oil change (done religiously at 3k) I get my tires rebalanced and the car aligned. Keeps me running smooth, quiet and economical on the freeways. I've had my car for 8 years, so I'd say I get my money's worth out of the lifetime service. They do a pretty thorough inspection of your car with the oil change. They've been pretty good about spotting potential issues before they become a disaster. Every time you visit, they give you an online survey to save $10 off your next visit. I roll this forward every visit and save a nice $10 on each oil change. They aren't the fastest oil change, but I think that's more because I can only bring in my car on busy weekends. One time, I needed them to replace my MAF sensor. They called to let me know it would be a delay, because the part they got was a manufacturer defect. Most other shops would have just thrown it in. I have a great set of tires I've had for a few years. Despite anything you can say about the Firestone tires, mine have treated me much better than my more expensive Goodyears ever did. All in all, I can recommend this shop to anyone. They do quality work and I've never had an issue with the work done. Keep in mind, they do get very busy on the weekends and your oil change might take a couple hours. I drop my car off and pick it up later. read more

2012 Toyota Corolla S. I am so upset that I was clearly being taken advantage of on my last two visits. I may not know much about cars which is why I put my trust into professionals to do routine maintenance on my vehicle. I went to get my tires rotated last week and was informed my brake light was out. They said it would be $16 to fix-mind blown, NO WAY-I ordered a bulb for $5 on amazon and replaced it my damn self. Went back for my scheduled oil change $43 after taxes which was not bad considering the mileage on my vehicle. the following week and they said they would do a routine full body inspection for an addition $10, no thanks-I have never had to pay extra for this service and an addition fee to fill the coolant-which should be included with an oil change in my opinion.. They ended up inspecting the entire vehicle anyway and when I was due to pay they showed me my cabin filter (which was filthy and due for replacement) but when I was told it would be $57 I just about dropped dead. I bought my own filter $8 on amazon and replaced it my damn self in less than 5 minutes. I was also told that I was due for new tires even though I just bought 4 brand new tires less than a year ago at this location for $500 total. He said it would be $200 for two new tires-My tires clearly still have enough traction to last another year at the minimum and I was never told about this when I got my tires rotated the week prior. He then mentioned that I needed to replace my spark plugs which were changed less than a month ago elsewhere. I was also told my cap was damaged and he told me I would need to purchase a new part for that-the only place I've gotten my oil change is at this location- prior to that my boyfriend did my oil changes and found it less expensive to get it done at a shop and he said it was fine when he did my oil change previously. While replacing my cabin filter I realized they had incorrectly put my glove box back to the way it was and never put the cap back onto the cabin filter which I found clanking behind the glove box. I may not know much about cars but I know enough to where I am being completely ripped off and taken advantage of. I have completely lost faith in the mechanics/salesmen at this location and would not recommend this location. read more

Such a rip off! $92.10 for an oil change?!! Are you kidding me? I drive a VW Passat, not a Porsche or BMW. Even with synthetic oil, it shouldn't have been more than $50. In fact I called a VW dealership & asked them the price for an oil change on my car & they said $48.99 + tax. That's from a dealership!! I will never take my car to Firestone for any reason ever again. If I get a flat tire in front of their store I'll push it down the street to Big O rather than take it to Firestone. read more

Just went in with a 2-yr old Bridgestone tire that had somehow cracked across the tread, so it went flat. Freddy the general manager set me up with a serious (70%) credit toward a new tire, even though it probably should have been less than that because the tire had more edge wear on it and I hadn't kept it inflated properly. He also took good care of me on the related labor. When he calls you "Boss," it isn't just a cute nickname they call their customers, it reflects an attitude throughout the store that the customer is in charge and the employees are there to serve you. My wife and I have been taking our vehicles to this location for years, and have been through many managers and service staff -- but no matter how the faces change, the customer-focused attitude remains. First off, I have an older truck. He is the love of my life. I'm a bit of a truck lover for almost 3 decades (omg I'm old) I've been dealing with Firestone for almost 3 years now for good reason. They are always willing to check your tires and most of the time they are available to check the essentials. I recently visited and to my delight I had the pleasure of having Aaron as my Service Adviser. I needed a tire and brake check. I had my truck serviced extensively the day prior and he noticed it all. No tricks. Just good honest CARE... were the caps enough? Again, I felt cared for. I've owned several BMW's and Ford Trucks and never met a Service Adviser who gave it to me straight like Aaron did. Sure they could sugar coat everything but at the end of the day if I have to come back I'm no better off than when I started. Not here though, I got everything I needed. Quotes, full thorough checkup of Mr. Big (my truck), and my favorite ... Aaron somehow has a way of making me smile and laugh. Go to Firestone for service. Period. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE , I came in randomly to get my alignment done ( which I recommend every to get the life time alignment) and no longer than 5 mins later they were taking my car in. Talk about service these guys actually work unlike most places that I have been to were you got to wait a hour for you car to be worked on with an appointment , god forbid you don't have an appointment you will be waiting for hours just for them to look at the car and than a couple of hours for them to preform the service. I have been using Firestone on 17th street for about 7 years. Mind you, I use them primarily for purchasing tires and installing them, but, I did use them a couple of times when I had problems with the starter and then my battery in my old car. Not only do they have consistently lower prices, they have always done great work on my cars and have been professional and friendly. Do I get out of there in under an hour? No. But, regardless of promises and promotions, I always expect car work to take time. Luckily, I live within walking distance and it isn't a huge deal for me. One experience sticks out in my mind. It was 4:00 on a Saturday, and it was pouring rain. I had just left the yoga place just next door with my two toddlers and found I had a flat tire. I gingerly drove the car to Firestone and they jumped into action. Never mind that they were closing soon. Not only did they get a new tire for my car that evening, one of the employees (I can't remember his name) drove myself and my two girls home so I could feed them dinner and get them dried off (at that time, I lived a bit farther from the store). I appreciated that so very much. Another positive experience was when I was trying to drive my older car to the store and I stalled out in the intersection of Tustin and 17th. I barely made it into the parking lot on that corner. Needless to say, I was shaken and upset by the time I walked into the store. Firestone towed my car from the corner to the store quickly and at no charge. Granted, it wasn't that far, but I still appreciated the gesture. I have never had problems with work they have done. I was in there this morning and desperately needed two new tires. They did not have what I need in stock, so they price matched a more expensive tire in order to meet my time constraints. Tried to charge me $650+ for repairs that I did not need. I was having a break pad rattle issue and they told me that the calipers were broken and needed $650 to replace all rear calipers and rotors and pads... I felt something was off so I took to another mechanic who has 4.5 stars on Yelp and they saw that the wrong pads were on there, and simply switched to the correct pads, no more rattle and only around $100. So save yourself from being ripped off by these folks and shop elsewhere. read more
