I had a completely destroyed tire and limped my car to this shop. I have a high performance car and this shop claims catering to performance in its name -- sounded great at first. I truly believe they falsely told me they only had an expensive run-flat tire to fit my car. This tire wreaked havoc on my car's suspension due to my other tires not being run-flat. I tried various things to improve the miserable driving (tire balance, alignment). In the end I had to buy another tire. The guy at the shop that I normally use and trust highly said having the one run-flat was absolutely screwing things up. Beach City Performance caused me to go thru a miserable saga that ended up costing me a ridiculous amount of money to sort out the mess it created. If the run-flat was truly the only tire they had that would fit any shop with a customer's best interest would've said 'you don't want this bcuz it will wreak havoc. Instead Beach City sold me this expensive tire to take advantage of me in a moment of need. Pathetic and disgusting. BEWARE OF THIS SHOP!!! read more

Anyway, a totally flat tire on Monday am, and of course, I had an important presentation in LA at 11am - and it was already 9:30am. Mike and his guys are awesome! You can definitely rely and trust them to give you the following: excellent customer service, good prices, reliable time waits and service. I have been coming to Mike for many maintenance and services for my Toyota Prius (2013). I'm most pleased with the service they give. They also offer couches to watch tv and wait, water and fruit and cookies. My car never has any issues after coming to Beach City Performance. The guys who work here are all professional and kind and hardworking. I came recently for my 65,000 miles and had to also get new front brake pads and rotors(???) Marcus saved the day yet again this past Monday Wanted to take a minute to give credit where credit is due. Shout out to my dear friends with Beach City Performance in Corona Del Mar. I've been taking my old girl to get serviced by Marcus (the owner) and his incredible staff since I bought her nearly 10 years ago (she's a 2004). And while they specialize in foreign, exotic, fancy AF cars they absolutely have always not only made time to Help me but go above and beyond exceeding all my expectations every single visit (which in owning an older jeep is embarrassingly often ) He has officially replaced and worked on every part of her... recently the radiator, transmission and engine. I've also taking her for her routine check ups (oil changes, tires etc) . All are done with the upmost honesty, efficiency and always in RAPID speed I won't lie every-time she breaks down, I brace myself for the worst, but Marcus and the family make the impact feel way more tolerable. As a woman who knows virtually NOTHING about cars, I rely on their unwavering honesty to guide me towards making the best decisions to ensure I get the most out of my money and extend her quality of life I am incredibly grateful and forever indebt for all they have and continue to do for me!! So, my Jeep's coolant pipe broke and my car smoked up. Luckily, I had AAA. When the tow truck guy showed up, I had options to tow it to any repair shop or any AAA recommended places. I asked the guy who he would recommend as I know from experience that not every repair shop is good and fair. Being that I'm new to CA, I don't have a trusted mechanic. He recommended this place and I'm sooo glad he did. It's not exactly close to where I live in Anaheim but, it was close to where I broke down. Their prices are sooo fair and service was quick!! LOST A CUSTOMER FOR BAD SERVICE & HIGH PRICES I've come into this shop a few times for service on my Nissan Sentra and the service had been good. They would take care of my car that day. Pricing is reasonable for the location (Corona Del Mar). My review is not about the service they provide in terms of the work that they do. The guys working on my car always do an excellent job. They are quick, friendly and don't give a creeper vibe (this is really important for female customers). My review is about CUSTOMER SERVICE. Specifically where it is LACKING. I brought my car in this past friday (Jan 2) due to low tire pressure. The guys immediately checked out my tire and let me know that there was a nail on the side of my tire and no way to patch it up. The tire needed to be replaced. Marcus (the owner) was quick in finding a tire for my car and had it ordered within 5 minutes. He then told me that the tires will be here on Monday and to come anytime after 8:30am. In the mean time, they replaced it with my spare. Here is where their Customer Service needs work: When I showed up Monday (Jan 5) at 12:45pm, the tire wasn't there. And they told me to come back tomorrow. I get that its the Monday after New Years & shipping can be an issue. Its how they dealt with the situation that was very disappointing. 1. Why didn't they call me with an update? My number should be in their system. When I've taken my car to the dealership or shops like Midas and Laguna Motor Wërks - they call me with all sorts of updates. 2. Tires are what they are known for. When a delivery doesn't come in on time they should have a system set in place to call the customer. 3. They could have offered some sort of discount for their mistake and my time wasted. Here is the ironic part. My friend called in and spoke with Marcus that morning to let him know I was coming in. Marcus told him not to worry and that they will take care of me. I called Marcus' cell which I got from my friend and left a voicemail of what happened and how this was all disappointing. In return I got the following text: "I guess you came to get the tire today but I didn't have your number so I couldn't call you ... Our supplier was closed the 1st to 4th so I couldn't get her tire till tomorrow .. Let me know if you still want it if not not problem I'll cancel it Marcus @ beach city performance " I ended up canceling my order and going to: American Tire Depot - Costa Mesa (949) 650-9040 2229 Harbor Blvd Costa Mesa CA 92627. TIRES ARE 20% CHEAPER HERE!!!! When I got to that shop, I found out my rim was still at Beach City Performance. They didn't put it in my trunk when they replaced the spare. Yikes! I had to go back twice. My time and efforts were wasted not once, but twice. Here are some customer service tips: 1. When you have a dissatisfied customer, call them. You have the opportunity to make things better. Let them know that their business does matter to you. Keeps you from losing out on repeat customers and referrals. 2. Don't make excuses that you didn't have my number. Look me up in your system. or better yet get it from my friend you talked to that very morning. Make time to go the extra mile. This alone will get your customers to keep coming back. 3. Leave parts (like rims) in the trunk of your customer's car. 4. Create a system when setting up appointments that include: Customer information, Job Details, Part Order Details. I believe there are some online software systems you can look into (Salesforce.com can customize one for your business). 5. Make it a point to offer people water when they are waiting in the lounge. Sadly, this has never happened during my visits. This would add to a welcoming environment. 6. If you are charging what you are, make your customers feel like its worth it! I hope Marcus and Beach City Performance can quickly revamp their Customer Service Efforts. It will only make their "Performance" that much better! read more

Marcus the owner is a great guy and always takes care of what's needed and nothing more. Will recommend what's best not what's most profitable for him. Since I track and autocross my car I go through rubber quicker than Ron Jeremy would had Prop 60 passed. Because of this I usually wind up replacing tires right after finding a big chunk missing or the sidewall coming out. However, this car is also my daily driver so I need a local shop with extremely quick turnaround for extreme performance tires. Beach City Performance is that shop. They've been able to get me any tire I want within 24 hours, and then install it while I go get lunch. Marcus is knowledgeable and courteous, as is the rest of his team, and the prices at Beach City are competitive with anyone else out there. The only reason I'm giving Beach City a less than perfect rating (and I'd give 4.5 stars if I could) is because my wheels are always extremely dirty when I get the car back. I would happily give them more time to work on the car if having clean wheels was the outcome. read more

Hi, I contacted Daniel regarding tires for my Toyota 4Runner and he was super helpful and friendly with answering any of my questions to which tires I should get for my new vehicle. He was not too pushy or anything when it came to the tires he had for sale at his shop. When I finally decided to go with the BF Goodrich KO2, he gave me a killer packaged deal. I really liked the way Marcus ran his shop. Although Daniel was not there the day I came to have everything installed, mounted, and balanced, Marcus (the owner) was super friendly with me since I did come a bit close to the closing time. One of my tires was losing air, so I called and then brought my car to Beach City Performance when they told me to come right in. I have learned in life to hope for the best, but expect the worst. Thus, I was expecting to wait for hours to learn that I needed a new tire and be hundreds out of pocket. I drove in, one of the fellows immediately removed my flat tire, found the nail, patched the hole and I was driving away in less than 15 minutes, at a cost of $25. This place is THE BEST! read more
