Firestone should be proud to have an employee Jeremy on its team. He went above and beyond to help me order the correct parts for my car and assisted me during the process. My appointment went smoothly due to Alexander resolving the issue during the installation. First time at Firestone... definitely will not be the last for future car issues. Kudos to the team! read more

Went in for a simple 4-tire swap that was expected to be 1.5hrs. Almost 3 hours later I received my car back with a punctured rear tire and badly scratched rims. I returned twice for an explination for the loss in tire pressure and the scratched wheel. No accountability, no apology, no courtesy. They didn't even offer evidence (pictures, notes, anything) that the damage was pre-existing (which it wasn't) . Although I was charged for the tire swap, I was not offered any discount or support on the replacement of the punctured tire. Just an upsell on a replacement. I listened to the staff upcharge, and upsell everyone that walked in for 3 hours. Calling everyone who walks in "boss" isn't customer service. Avoid at all costs. read more

Employee came inside from the garage to check where I parked, I told him at the lot in between Firestone and Dunkin' Donuts (it was the closest open parking unless I was to block their garage driveway, right adjacent to their building). He rolled his eyes and was visibly annoyed, and whispered something to another employee openly in front of all the customers waiting. Sorry? Lol With an appointment the oil change / tire rotation took 1 hr 45 min. The front desk people were very nice though. read more

Paid $110- for Engine Diagnostics they missed a leaking fuel line, which I discovered the next day when the engine had a rough idle and I opened the hood to see what was going on. Fuel was dripping from the fuel line near the hot intake manifold. It could easily have generated a serious fire while driving on the freeway or surface street. They also missed a short circuit in the electrical system even though it was visibly sparking, not far from the fuel line. If you care about your safety, think twice before bringing your car here. read more

This is a warning. All the bad reviews are genuine. I took my Jeep to this location, and they did a lousy job. My jeep needs a balancing and alignment on the front wheels. The quote was 169 dollars. I received a call saying that two log nuts were terrible and needed replacement. I say ok. I got a call about 30 minutes later. The mechanic told me they were having problems removing one lug nut. They need to use fire to remove it. I say ok. A couple of hours later, I got a call again, telling They need to use a unique tool to remove the lug nut. That some cosmetic damage might happen. I asked if I could still use the wheel, and the mechanic said it should be no problem and just cosmetic. The next day, I picked up the Jeep, and there was more than cosmetic damage. The Mechanic carved part of the rim to get the lug nut out. To make the story short, I was losing air in my tire. I had to take the Jeep to a small shop in an emergency. The guy where I took my Jeep removed the tire and told me, "Your tire is done. When he took the tier out, they bent the side of the rim. The mechanic tried to get the rim out and cracked it, and then they put the weight used to balance the tire on top of the broken rim. I called customer service and was told to email them what happened and a picture, which I did. A couple of weeks later, I received an email saying that after their investigation, they concluded that it didn't happen at their shop. They will pay me $80.00 if I sign a form and have a witness; they are not responsible for those damages. Please do the right thing, Firestone. I ended up paying $ 480.00 for a lousy job. read more

Tire pressure was low. They checked my pressure and added air immediately- no charge. Great customer service!

I have had the same tire replaced. Twice. Now they'd have only lasted 6 months and because I didn't take out the extended warranty and pay more money. I'm out of luck and have to buy a new tire. The customer service there is terrible. They don't even want to try to help. I would never never never Go back to a firestone read more

Went in for an issue with my air conditioning, was told there were a series of issues costing over $2,000. The day I got my car back the check engine light came on, ended up having to pay even more for a different "issue." Air conditioning stopped working again less than a week after. A different mechanic found a simple issue with the AC and couldn't believe Firestone didn't catch it. Wasted thousands here and was ignored every time I reached out to management. I live pretty close to here and this would be my preferred place to get work done on my car. I have a Firestone credit card and I can rarely get service at this location. When you call the team members are so incredibly short and rude that you don't want to bring them the business. By the way, I find it interesting that Firestone says to reach out to customer service if you did not have a great experience. I contacted them and the rep literally started talking on the phone to some random person about what she wanted to order for lunch. I guess that's pretty par for the course whether it's an in store experience or the corporate office. Thankfully Auto Repair for less has had my back, gives great warranties and is located really close. 4414 N Kedzie. Check them out, you won't regret it. read more

Every time I have gone here, except for an oil change I've had to bring my car back at least one time for them to finish the job. Sometimes up to 4x. It's the only tire place walkable from my house so I can drop it off, so I've kept going back for about 8 years for different issues, but I think maybe I'm done with them. They send you home after doing brakes, calipers, alignment, tires (I've had them work on all) without driving the car after repairs. Eventually they get it right but it's just incredible how they are like today for the "2nd appointment" for my alignment- "oh, yeah, we had to put a bolt in". Did you know you had to and didn't or did you discover that when you looked at it again today? I talked with their corporate after having my multiple issues and they were ZERO help. It's been through at least two managers since I started going and change hasn't helped one bit. I'd say it's worth driving a bit further. I guess it depends how much time you have to be losing your car for a day and going back needlessly u til they figure out how to do a complete job? read more

So I make an appointment today on their website and in my confirmation email I screen shoted and added to my review it clearly states that if the time slot becomes unavailable they will call me to let me know. Hours pass by, I get no call or email so I show up to my appointment. I pull up in my car to one of the open garage doors and stay put for a while waiting for literally direction as to what to do next from one of the 7 or 8 guys on the floor. I get looked at but no direction is given...honestly fair enough. What's annoying to me is that when I walk in there are two kids at the service desk playing around with the computer, being loud and dropping stuff. Perhaps if they had, say...A REAL EMPLOYEE at the service desk I could have gotten that confirmation email or call about my appointment. This is NO way to do business. It's Saturday, a lot of people have the weekends off and this is a great time to make some money Firestone. That would start with running your business/appointments appropriately. Finally one of the guys who saw me in my car waiting comes up and tells me i should have received an email that told me to call to see if MY APPOINTMENT was valid or not. This is hilarious. I'm making an appointment to call and see if my appointment is valid? Wtf. Also the email says nothing about calling them they should have called or emailed me is what it clearly states. I left and went half a block down to the jiffy lube (with a 4.5 star rating on Yelp) where as soon as someone saw me they went up to my car to change my oil. It cost me a few bucks more than Firestone would have but based on all these reviews about how they nickel and dime you I guess I got lucky. At the very least get the fkn kids out of the service desk. Run this place like a business not a playground. Not going back I have also attached my confirmation to my appointment....dear Firestone-please explain this to me. read more

Had my car here twice within 3 days, Alex is pleasant enough, but then I AGAIN had to take it back, IMMEDIATELY though it was supposedly finished, because it was telling me a tire needed air "right now!" and the tire WAS going low. The guy who I guess did the look-over came back to claim the "little tube thing where you put the air in" just needed to be tightened. Excuse me? You JUST had my car and I JUST bought FOUR NEW TIRES and paid almost a THOUSAND DOLLARS for you to tell me someone left something CRUCIAL undone?! And I'm not stupid, i know that little tube is called a VALVE STEM! I know it's hot and muggy out but where's the quality control?! read more

This place is woefully understaffed, not very professional, and will try and nickel and dime you till you're blue in the face. Other than that, it's fine..... They said they'd have my car done (4 new tires and alignment) in two hours. I showed up after two hours and my car was on the lift and no one attending to it. Ultimately, they did it in 4 hours and I CANCELLED the alignment. I will not ever go back here. It's dirty too. The trash hasn't been taken out in at least 3 days. Forget about this place! read more

Terrible experience I called because my check engine light was on they told me to bring it in and they would do a diagnostic test and let me know what was going on. They got back to me with an estimate taht was insanely high so I said I would be back to pick up my car due to wanting to get a second opionion I went to pick up my car and was told I owed 120 for the diagnostic at no point when i called or dropped off my car was I told there would be a charge for the diagnostic test. I was told I could not get my car unless I paid or spoke to the manger but the manger would not be in until the next day. Luckily i had my car keys so I was able to actually get my car. I did look at the e-mail estimate they gave me for service and where the signature was supposed to be it was blotted out - i am unsure if this was supposed to make it looked like I signed something or agreed to the cost of the diagonstic test but i never agreed to a cost or signed anything. read more

This doesn't deserve any stars. But you have to put something. Recently took my car here to have my stolen (fuck thieves!) catalytic converter replaced. I feel like I was robbed twice over this part! Scam artists. I went in for an alignment (I have the lifetime package), and they said I needed to replace both control arms because I had worn bushings and the torque of the engine was throwing it out of alignment (they said they aligned it, took it for a drive, and noticed it was back out of alignment). They said it would cost me $700 to replace. I got it checked at another mechanic who said my bushings were fine, control arms fine, but that I had a leaking rear strut that needed to be replaced and he would do it for $150 (I trust this mechanic, and I also knew I needed to replace that strut because the dealership told me the same thing about 6 months ago). So not only did Firestone try to upsell me, they missed an important issue that actually needed fixing. To further check, I have a GPS tracker on my car. I double checked what Firestone did to my car when I dropped it off. They just moved the car back and forth for 10 mins and never drove it off the lot to check the alignment. Their excuse sounds plausible, but conveniently makes it impossible to verify unless you get a second opinion (or GPS). Long story short, they did nothing to my car and wanted me to pay $700. Avoid them like the plague. read more

Made an appt at 4 for an alignment and they changed it to 2 without texting me, it was an email, luckily I caught it. I showed up and they had my car on the rack for around the amount of service time it would take. Horrible customer service. Charged me an outrageous price for a brake job that I had to take because I needed it done that day. Just realize that if there is a chance to give you less than what you pay, they will. I paid for a new a/c compressor and not only did they NOT give me a new unit, they gave me a used and partially working unit that still did not cool right. There's only two places of of all the Firestone locations I would visit, this being the other one. Today I had some issues with my car driving gear and making noises. I set up a time to come in, the service waiting had a bunch of people there. So I opted to leave it there until they were finished working on it. It's really hard to find a good, trustworthy mechanic shop and I've only known 4 of them in Chicago lol. But I'm glad I came here on a whim. Jessie and John both straight forward with me. They offered better assistance and customer support than my Toyota dealer lately. They provided the best and most affordable solution to fix the sensor problem. While Toyota told me they couldn't even look at my vehicle today. Not to mention the labor is outrageous at the other place! But They are reasonable here and time efficient. read more

They wanted to charge $1300, was able to get it done much cheaper. Reason it was so expensive is that they way overcharge on parts. They get parts from Autozone but then mark them up 250%. Maybe if they were using OEM parts would cost that much but not from Autozone. 2nd they wanted to repair both sides when only one side was damaged. Seems like they just want to make as much money as possible. read more

Great location and fit me in same day without an appointment. Friendly and knowledgeable staff

My wife took my son's car in to get tires, oil changed and state inspection. They told her the car needed control arms to pass inspection. My wife was given a price and she agreed to move forward with the repairs. After the repairs were completed they told her it needed alignment and that would be an additional 122.00. My issue is they should have quoted the alignment with the repairs the first time they told her. She paid for the repairs and got in the car to leave and the low tire light was on. She had tech come look at it and he said sensor was bad and it would be 90.00 for parts and 100.00 for labor. I feel the we're trying to take advantage of her because she was a woman. Before they replaced the tires the light wasn't on. The recipient said they changed valves steam and some kind of repair kit. They need fix the light and refund the alignment cost. I used to take my Ford Escort Wagon here back in the day and when I recently had an power steering emergency with my current car, the employees at this Firestone were polite, helpful, and repaired it quickly. The time estimates given were accurate and they even came in under time and kept me posted as I watched MSNBC on their nice TV and took care of some work.
