Wow. Took our son;s car in (2008 Camry) to have it checked out and get it safe. We were helping him out to make sure it was safe, and explained we wanted to do what was necessary to get it safe, but minimize the costs. They came back with a $4,000 estimate! That is more than the car is worth. Now, there is a fair amount of work to be done: wheel bearing, two tires, front brakes (pads and rotors), flush brake fluid, oil change, alignment. But nothing too crazy. They also gave us a lot of disclaimers (well, if the ABS sensor breaks when we to the rotors, it will be a couple hundred more, might need to replace the master cylinder ...). I looked up some of the costs of the repairs on line and they were 25% to 100% more than what they should have been. We said 'Thanks but no thanks'. We took it down to the Firestone on Delaware in downtown Indy and for the same work they charged $1,500. And not disclaimers about ABS sensors, etc. Monty was super professional, charged reasonable rates. They got the car in quickly, made the repairs, and there were no extra charges. I can't say enough about the Firestone downtown. I will never go back to the one in Carmel. They left me with the feeling that they were used to people in Carmel just whipping out Daddy's credit card and paying whatever they say. I'm only giving two stars because they place was clean and the people were pleasant, but the charges are outrageous. read more

I went in to get a stud replaced and watch them work on the car for maybe 10 minutes as it is one of the most simple things to do. They had me waiting 1 hour and managed to charge me for 1.2 hours of labor. I spent 213.24 to get my stud replaced, because I don't have a working jack at home to do it myself. This is the most outrageous pricing model I have ever seen, and I hope nobody goes in there ever again. read more

DO NOT GO HERE: I took my car in there this Sunday to get my suspension, looked at and new tires put on I paid for a complete inspection to be done. They called and said that I needed a new control arm on the passenger side and new tie rods. They quoted me $1188 to get this done and new tires installed. Sunday night I got my car back and there was an awful noise Metal grinding on metal when you turn. And my tire felt extremely bumpy when driving on the front side. So I bring the car back on Monday for them to correct the issue they told me that the axle had shaved off into my transmission and it was missed during the inspection by the store manager. They replaced the control arm and the ball joint on the driver. Call me to come pick up my car and sent me on my way. When I got my car back, it felt the same. I panicked due to have three small children. They insured me that this was due to new tires and the car was fine. Tuesday I'm freaking out bc my car was not safe to drive. I am calling around to see who can inspect red my vehicle. Noblesville Firestone for me in And out. Come to find out Carmel installed my tire rods on the wrong side and left bolts loose on my control arms. y be chile was not safe to drive. It could have killed me and children. This was either malicious intent or complete incompetence by the STORE manager herself. I have all documents as well as a voice recording. My next step is to contact a lawyer if this is not resolved with Carmel location. If you have car trouble please go to the Noblesville location. They will make sure everything is done right Today the store manager calls me after u requested the area manager to call me telling me that my axle shaved off into my transmission after I picked up. And they did nothing wrong. The whole time I have pictures and two inspections on my car showing they installed my tire rods wrong and left loose bolts that could have killed us!!! She was digging for answers asking who inspected my car. I refused to answer Until the area manager calls me. I have all the documentation as well showing they LEFT loose bolts. Almost messed up my transmission. The store manager even admitted to test driving my car and sent me on my way with a messed up car that was not safe to drive. I was almost not given the complete inspection I paid for documentation. If you read my papers she did not notate anything in the account and it was stated the axle was missed during complete inspection. read more

My husband took his car in today for a replacement tire after getting a flat. He had an 11am appointment and was told the car would be done in an hour to an hour and a half. He called around 3pm to find out status and the car hadn't been looked at yet. The car finally got evaluated at about 4:15 and they recommended replacement of all 4 tires since he has AWD. We agreed to replacement and the car was done around 5:15. Upon later review of the receipt, we were charged an extra nearly $120 for a Road Hazard Warranty that we did not consent to and did not want. ***Edited to add we called and they say that we could come by and get the warranty refunded. They advised the warranty is automatic so you have to know about it and ask for it to be removed, otherwise you get charged*** read more

Had to get two new tires because I ruined some while driving. Took my car in on a Saturday and waited three hours just to have it two tires changed, I am a mechanic myself and could've done this in 30 minutes but had to have them do it within the warranty. Then they gave me a sheet which I don't have at the moment, but everything was in the green yet my steering wheel was off. Not the first time I've had an alignment done by them were it did not feel right, so I took it to my work and did an alignment myself and yet my alignment is way off. This is a main reason why you do not go to fire stone except if you're just getting tires, let alone if you want to spend three hours out of your weekend. read more

I took my vehicle in for an alignment. I opted for the one time alignment as I may be selling this vehicle in the near future. I had the report from the dealership with the current alignment reading. Staff was very friendly and efficient. However, when I got the report after the alignment was done (in 15min), they only centered the toe and I wound up having to take my vehicle back to the dealership for them to do the alignment. They also offered additional services that were done two weeks ago at the dealership. For this location, I may recommend sticking to oil changes, or knowing exactly what your vehicle needs read more

If I could give 0 stars to this location I would. I dropped my car off at 10:30am and didn't hear from them all day. I called at 4pm to check if my car had received an inspection. They stated a technician is looking at it now and would have an update in 20 minutes. A hour goes by without hearing anything about my car. I call again at 6pm and they still had no update on my car. My tire pressure light came on but I didn't want to drive it to the dealership (which also happens to be closed on Sundays). Luckily, I found out Firestone can check your tire pressure for free. The friendly employee took care of me right away, and while some of the tires were a tad low due to the colder fall weather, he assured he nothing was out of the ordinary. Had a great experience at Firestone. Everyone was super nice and friendly. I got a wheel alignment and only took about an hour for drop off. They even called in the middle to tell me I was like a week away from needing an oil change and asked if I wanted to get it done while they were already working on my care, which I thought was awesome. Even got a couple of discounts applied to my service to save money. The only reason they're getting four stars is that I original setup an appointment online and it was canceled 4 times without explanation so I had to finally call in to get an appointment. Once I got a hold of one of the workers their phone is a little wonky and j could barely hear the worker when she was talking. She had said my appointments weren't getting approved due to a sale they had goin on but I never received an email or phone saying that. However they quickly got me scheduled for the day I wanted and had great service! So the only thing I wish they would improve is just call the customer if an appointment is not able to be a scheduled or email. But all in all would go back 100% read more

We had to take our car in to get our brakes fixed. It was a Sunday and this was one of the few places open nearby. We dropped the car off around 11am (which we made and appointment for) and they said they couldn't get to it right away so they would do an inspection and give us a call back. Once they called back to give us a quote, they told us what was wrong by with the brakes and we told them to go ahead and fix it. They then mentioned that we needed new coolant so we said go ahead and fix that as well. They asked if we wanted them to rotate our tires and we explicitly said "no thanks, we don't want any additional services at this time other than the coolant". We had to pick up the vehicle after hours which was a hassle in itself. We had to leave our card information at the desk because they told us we couldn't prepay until they were finished with the service. When we picked up the car later that day, the bill was in the front seat and they totally scammed us. They charged us obnoxious fees. We were charged $200 for wiper blades and fluid and $100 for replacing the air filter (even though we stated we didn't want these things replaced at this time). We went in the next day and they reimbursed us the service fees for these but wouldn't reimburse for the actually product. I am happy with my brakes, but I won't be taking my vehicle here again because I can't trust them to not charge me for extra services when I explicitly said I didn't want them. read more

Thrilled with my experience at Carmel's Firestone Complete Auto Care this evening. Had a flat tire on the way home from work. I arrived at Firestone at about 5:45. They got me in and out within an hour! David did everything he could to make sure I had the most economical solution. He was very transparent about what did and did not need to be done. And when it was discovered that my headlight was out as they were delivering the car back to me, he even personally changed it (and it is a pain-in-the-neck, hard-to-reach one!)! Great service and super friendly! Came in 2 weeks in a row for tire repair unfortunately and they were quick and efficient getting me in and out. Plan to drop off your vehicle if at all possible. Dropped my vehicle at about 8am was able to pick up at about 3pm. You can walk down the drive to Panera if you want to wait. About $20 to patch a tire, had to replace a tire for about $200. read more

Worst customer service ever. Don't waste your time with this place, it is a joke. While my truck was in their service bay getting a tire patched, one of their employees gave me a quote on a set of 4 new tires. I scheduled an appointment for 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon. When I arrived, they refused to install the tires on my truck because they claim it was too heavy. The tires currently on my vehicle were installed in this very same facility four years ago. They also informed me to waste more of my time and bring it back another day first thing in the morning so they could have it for a full eight hour day to TRY to change four tires. Try to change the tires? Literally told me it would be an ALL DAY JOB to change four tires. Seriously? Apparently, their mechanics can't figure out how to change four tires on a pick up truck. What a shame. Even if he jacked up one corner at a time it should still be done within an hour. I'm sure there are other places with trained technicians who are happy to put tires on my truck. read more

Went in for a oil change and asked to check the breaks since the break light was on. Received a phone call later explaining that I had to replace ALL rotors and breaks immediately along with finding a leak in my break hose. I was then quoted $927.00. I asked to just perform an oil change. When I went to pay $27.00 for the oil change the gentleman then included I needed a new battery all of a sudden (battery was 1 year old). I went and got another opinion at another shop in Castleton which had been rated 5 stars on Yelp. Come to find out I was in no danger with my breaks and rotors, also while finding no break hose leak and my battery was in perfect condition. I was suggested that I would begin thinking about replacing rotors and breaks while I still had time. I told them since they were honest to go ahead and replace them on a different date later that week. I was quoted $600 for EVERYTHING including break fluid that was low (which was why my break light was on). I do not recommend Firestone because I believe they give auto shops a bad name trying to make an extra buck. Hope this helps someone. read more

I stopped in the Carmel Firestone to get a set of new Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires mounted on some steel rims for my car before winter. The service was friendly and quick; the clerk quoted me everything they would do prior to starting the mounting, which ended up being less than anticipated and was under the quoted price. I felt the cost was very reasonable to mount and balance four new tires on four new rims, plus install my pre-purchased TPMS units. I dropped them off on a Saturday afternoon and picked them up first thing Sunday. No scratches on the black rims, either! Next I had them quote me on a new set of all seasons; the price per tire was much higher than I expected and I thought they might be able to give me a break on the mountings. I didn't negotiate, but I will probably price out what Tire Rack can do (with added shipping), I'm betting it will be a better route. I will probably take any tire purchases here for mounting; they did a great job and had my tires to me within half a day. Being open on Sunday is also a fantastic convenience. Now for some pleasurable winter travels... yeah right. read more

During our oil change that I reviewed a month ago, at the end of the change, they told us that we had a "serious" oil leak and they needed to do a "dye test" for 80 bucks to see where the leak was. That just didn't sound right to me, so I told them I didn't want it done. 4 weeks and 2k miles later, we've used exactly 1/2 quart of oil. So much for a "serious" leak. read more

This place is great and has friendly service. I've had multiple vehicles into Firestone both my own and my wife's vehicle for a variety of reasons from a basic oil change, tires, alignment, and brakes to break downs. While I've been to primarily two locations I have been to this location in Carmel the most as it's close enough to my work that I can drop my car off and have a nice walk the rest of the way to the office. As I stated I usually drop off my vehicle and ask them to have it finished by just after lunch so I can be sure to have it long before rush hour. They always have it ready before the time I requested. Not every time, but on occasion they call me and give me an update about other types of maintenance that should/could be done or that according to mileage is getting close and is just an option. They have never performed work without okaying the cost and time with me first. Sometimes I say, "Go Ahead" and other times I say, "Let's Wait." My brother in-law is an excellent car guy so he's educated me on what should be done and what should wait until next time. On one occasion my car wouldn't start at work so I had it towed here. Turns out it was just that I still had the factory battery in it. Factory model car batteries are lucky to make it two years let alone the four years I had it. Firestone replaced the battery and the car was fine. So overall, I trust this shop and return several times a year. Also, it's worth your time to get a Firestone credit card. You get a discount on all services when you use it and if you spend over $250 like when you have four new tires put on your vehicle then you get zero interest for six months and that is a free loan! read more

I left my wife's van over the weekend with the agreement that it would be done by 930 on the following Monday, at which time I'd have tires and oil change done on my vehicle as well. Stopped in at 12 on Monday and nothing was done. You would think that for a customer buying EIGHT new tires and two oil changes they would want to keep up their end of an agreement. Apparently not. Today, I had to replace my girlfriend's tire on the highway. Right after dealing with that stressful event, I had to figure out how to get her car ready for her to go to work. Unfortunately this is a common theme with Firestone Carmel. After my car displayed a check engine light and began to barely run, I had my car towed to the shop. I was told that only one person was able to do diagnostic work. This was on a Friday and the Technician was off until Monday. On Monday morning I received a call stating that in order to determine the extent of my problem they would have to replace the computer. They couldn't get proper readings since it was bad. The estimate for this was $2500!!! Now this is just to get the car in working order before diagnostics. I called my dad for advise. He said this was B.S. and said I should have it towed to Indy Tire where he has had a long relationship with Brett and his team. I accepted his recommendation. Now Firestone wanted $200 for telling me about the computer replacement. I refused to pay anything. After analysis by Indy Tire was determined that the alternator needed to be replaced. Total $500 out the door. Car runs perfect. I believe that either the staff at Firestone are inept or they are just crooks. Maybe both! read more

Their estimate was for four brand new tires because the one tire couldn't be fixed and they STRONGLY recommended replacing all 4 tires because I drive an AWD vehicle I called the dealer to ask about that recommendation. My wipers stopped working. Went to Auto Zone in Carmel. They said maybe try Firestone or Jiffy Lube just up the road. They're going to charge a lot for diagnosis. No kidding $100 for just that. A part was needed and I was told I that if they did the service half of the exorbitant diagnosis fee would be waved. So I was presented another bill for well over $200. He also originally quoted me $100 for a complete diagnostic, but then tried to up sell that all well, adding in additional checks that would cost about $200 without even having looked at my car.
