I needed tires, so I looked around on who was open and who had my size tires in stock. Firestone had them and told me they would take care of me. I drove down and they did all 4 tires in about 50 minutes, not bad at all I said. When I got home I noticed my back tire looked flat. I checked the tire pressure and not just the back tire but all 4 tire were way low on pressure. That is a little something they forgot. read more

This team was great to work with. I was on the road with a U-Haul trailer when my alternator went out. They were able to get me in that same morning, over a holiday weekend. They let me leave the U-Haul in the lot while they were completing the repairs and let me keep my dog with me inside. Overall, they were fast, super polite and helpful! As full-time RV'ers, our truck needs to be in top shape to pull our travel trailer. We had our brakes checked in Las Vegas and were told they replaced brake pads. When we were out of Nevada we noticed a little something wrong...by the time we were in Idaho, we were really concerned. We came to this Firestone in Boise only to learn it was a poor and sloppy job. Tim, Service Mgr. was very pleasant and helpful. He showed us the issues and even refunded the labor we paid in LV! He then removed and replaced pads with what we should have had to begin with ... something more substantial for towing. I always buy my tires from Firestone. They have good prices and I love their Nationwide Road Hazard warranty program. Free lifetime alignment, tire balancing and rotation are really nice to have especially when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, I had a nail in one of my tires and had to bring it in for evaluation. Being new to Idaho we searched for a Firestone location and found this one and thought we'd give them a try. And are we glad we did. I called and discussed my problem with Kevin, the Service Manager. He was so nice nice, respectful and reassuring. We also needed the repair as soon as possible and even though he was very busy he somehow worked us into his schedule. We really appreciated that great customer service. The nail location was borderline, right near the sidewall. Store Manager Ernst and Kevin thought it best to change it rather than take a chance. My wife and I really appreciated that they were so safety conscience. Can't be too careful when it comes to tire safety. David, the tech, was very also very nice and respectful. He was also great. The most important thing we can say about Ernst and his Team is that we TRUST them. So if we have any problems with our cars in the future we now know where to bring them. Took 2 weeks to get an appointment. After tire install TPMS light came on. When I contacted the manager they offered to schedule another appointment- 2 weeks again. Got into another shop same say and had the issue resolved. Went to do a brake job and found that Firestone had kept our security socket for removing the lug nuts. Called dozens of times from 9 am to 1pm and no one would answer the phone. Drove an hour to their location and asked for the manager. He gave me back the socket and said " we were wondering who that belonged to". When I told him his phone was not working he replied " No, it's working. I'm just not answering it. " He seemed 100% unconcerned about any of these issues. Don't waste your time with this shop. read more

Always used Firestone for tires- nationwide road hazard is important when you move like we do. Just arrived in Boise last week and got a flat at 5:18 PM. Called and spoke with Mike the manager, he said he would wait on us. We pulled in at 5:57 (they close at 6:00). Sam the senior technician met me in the lot and drove the car in while I walked into the lobby. After evaluating the tire the firestone crew explained what my options were, topped our fluids, checked the battery and a number of other items. We would up getting a new tire (under warranty) installed and ready to go for ~$38.00. And we were in the car and on the road by 6:16. 19 minutes from the time we arrived. I dropped off truck over an hour before the appointment. I've been waiting 6 hours for the at this point. An oil change should not take this long. The punk kid on the counter was not pleasant from the moment we walked in and he got worse with smart answers as the day went. I missed other appointments for the day but they didn't care. No adult on duty . Not professional at all. VERY TERRIBLE SERVICE. Don't ever come here if you value your vehicle time and safety of your life. read more

We arrived at 5:10 pm on a Sunday with an emergency. We were driving on the freeway when our vehicle began to vibrate badly. They are supposedly open until 6pm but told us they couldn't help us. I understand we were there a little late, but don't say you're open until 6 if you close just after 5. We had a child in the car, almost 200 miles left to drive and we were basically out of luck. Firestone: I just wanted to let you know how much I DID NOT APPRECIATE THE TREATMENT YOU GAVE TO MY DAUGHTER. When she came in to have the problem diagnosed she DID NOT NEED the "she's just a woman treatment. What she needed was the truth, something you were not about to give. That diagnostic fee you charged her was robbery. The estimate of $1,100 for a new fuel pump was absolutely criminal. She went elsewhere for the fuel pump and the replacement didn't fix her problem. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT SHE NEEDED ANEW BATTERY! Once replaced the problem left. Oh yea, the correct diagnosis was done by a retired lawyer friend who also did the repair. If you have any integrity at all you will refund the fee you charged as well as make it right with my daughter regarding the bogus repair job she had to pay for elsewhere. Completely awful!!!! I made an appointment to get both my cars sets of brand new tires a month in advance. I was assured the tires I needed would be shipped to the store in time and I paid an extra $70 to assure the shipment. I showed up with my cars, and the set for one car had not even shipped yet!!! Trying not to be too upset, I left my other car and went on my way. They assured me it wouldn't be longer than 1.5 hours and they would call me when it was ready. After hearing nothing, I called 2.5 hours later, and was informed they hadn't even started on my car yet!!! So much for reserving an appointment time! I started bringing my car here last year based on my best friend's recommendation. They have completely revamped their customer service and auto care, and I've really noticed a difference. Today I brought my car in for an oil change appointment. Because they were running behind, I was given today's oil change and my next one for free. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Went to Firestone by mistake on a Sunday when nothing else was open. Had a slow leak in my tire, dropped It off & when I came to pick It up they said I had a nail in my tire and assured me they patched it. As soon as I got in my car still in the Firestone parking lot the same tires low pressure was on, I went back in and the receptionist told me It needed to be driven to reboot the system. I'm a student so my car sits in a covered parking garage most the time. Fast forward three weeks, I have driven my car maybe three times and the pressure of the tire has still been low and doing the same thing It was doing before I paid for It to be "fixed." I took my car back to Firestone and left It overnight. It took them two days to call me and say I had two more nails in my tire. How is It possible to get two nails in your tire when you park in a parking garage and have driven your car three times???? They went on to tell me my car & tires that were less than a year old all needed to be replaced. This is how they try ripping off a college student who they think is clueless about tires. I got my parents involved and when they called and tried to speak to the person who actually looked at my tires and not the receptionist she said "they don't talk on the phone" I took my car somewhere else!!!! read more

My experience from the moment I spoke with Tim to make an appointment (for 5:30pm today) until I left the store exceeded my expectations. I went in for a simple oil change & I needed a part for my car, my car was not safe to drive home. Tim called the parts store & was informed the driver went home for the day so one of the Firestone mechanic's drove to the part store during rush hour traffic & brought the part back. Needless to say, it was way past closing time, & they were determined to ensure my car was safe to drive. My car runs great & I feel safe. I recently visited Firestone, because I had a slow leak in my tire. My husband was out of town for a month and I have 2 disabled kids. The technician located the hole in my tire, but unfortunately could not be repaired because it was outside the tread area. My option was to put the spare on or purchase a new tire. I did not have a spare and had $2 in my account. The store manager authorized a new tire for my car at no charge. Tim was amazing. I never imagined this and it was an extreme blessing! My first experience with these guys was a new set of tires. Drove off and found out a month later that they had been improperly installed when they started pulling. I stopped by my local Les Schwab and they fixed the issue for free. Later that year, I decided to give these guys another shot and they installed a new timing belt in my car. I picked it up when it was complete and the car started without any problems. Good start...or so I thought. I got about 3 miles down the road before my battery light came on. Brought the car back and found out that the alternator coincidentally just went out. Refusing to even consider that they had some part in the alternator dying after they had to mess around with it to replace the timing belt, they charged me full price for the new alternator and labor. I swore to myself I'd never use them again.... 1.8 years later, my battery blows up on me. I do some basic troubleshooting and discover that my basically new alternator is not regulating the voltage correctly, which is what killed my battery. VERY annoyed, I take it back to this Firestone branch since the part was still covered by the warranty, hoping to see these guys can redeem themselves. When I contacted them, they kept joking about how I was lucky that the part was just barely covered by the warranty...as if I was somehow special that their lemon part died before I had to buy a new one. When I brought the car in I told them exactly what was wrong, how I troubleshot it, and how they could quickly verify the problem before replacing the alternator. I was very respectful and gracious when providing this information and didn't let my frustration show at any point, hoping that they might give me some sort of break on the labor costs (as opposed to charging me twice for the same work in less than 2 years). Not only did they charge me full price for replacing something with 2 bolts and a belt ($130), but they also tacked on a $25 "electrical troubleshooting" fee. Scheduled an appointment to have my Ford Explorer worked on about two weeks in advance. Once I arrived at the scheduled time I was told to wait and a tech would come talk to me soon. Three other walk-ins were processed and after about forty five minutes of hearing nothing I again approached the desk and inquired about my appointment to which I was given the answer: "Oh i thought you were already told about the parts issue." The desk wouldnt clarify and fifteen minutes later a Tech finally came out and informed me they hadn't received the parts they ordered. So after an hour of waiting I was told to "come back tomorrow". Not sure why they couldn't have called me to reschedule but nonetheless I begrudgingly came back the next day and was informed they couldn't squeeze me in until sometime that afternoon (this was at nine am) Once they finally got my vehicle into the shop they did do the installation relatively quickly which is why I am begrudgingly giving them 2 stars but their organization was a disaster. This shop was honest with me about the repairs to my son's truck. I was 900 miles from home. They could have easily scared me into $1000 worth of suspension work. Instead Kevin did a free inspection on the entire suspension. It does need work, but they were nice enough to tell me the truck would be fine, and they could even do an alignment if I wanted. The shop in Denver said they wouldn't align the truck unless I did all the repairs. Thank you Firestone. read more
