Steve's auto care has always treated me soooooo good. I have an older can and have had several things need repaired on it and they have always been honest and good to me. As a female that knows nothing about cars it really scares me that I'll be taken advantage of when, taking my car in to be worked on. I have never felt taken advantage at Steve's auto care. One time I had a belt put on and it started to rip a while later, so I brought my car back to Steve's and they fixed it. Put a new belt on it and didn't charge me to do so. Just recently I had problems with my car not starting so I brought it back to Steve's and they had to call a locksmith. To have a new key made (and a few other things but my girl brain doesn't remember what they're called). They just charge me what the locksmith charge them and no diagnostic fee. They have a quick turn around time also of course it depends on when they can get the parts and what the issue is but I've always had my car back with in a few days as well. I am so grateful to Steve's auto care. They will have a forever Customer with me. read more

I have an old car (2003 highlander) but it only has 130K miles on it. Took it in and asked them to look over EVERYTHING and fix what needed to be done. Almost $10k later (and after being in the shop for A MONTH), I get my car back only to find out 1 of my 4 windows did not roll down at all (this was something that we explicitly asked them to fix the first time they had it). Darren told me it would cost $300 something for the part they needed. I told him they needed to cover the cost since they failed to test ALL of the windows after repairing the first time, so they did. Great. Picked it up after the second time and started noticing noises and things I had never heard before when I stepped on my brakes. No leaking, no overheating, no signs of anything other than the noises I was hearing (that I NEVER heard before this). Brought it back a THIRD time and Darren calls me and says my radiator blew and said it happened while I had my car. Ummm.... WHAT?! Come to find out another $2K worth of work needs to be done on the car. I find it VERY odd that additional issues kept popping up right after I would get my car back, especially after they allegedly checked and repaired everything that needed to be repaired the FIRST time they had my car for a month. I removed my car from the shop and will never bring it back again. My grandparents had the exact same issues with their Honda - they'd bring it in and then more problems would arise (same shop). I find it very coincidental that these types of things seem to happen repeatedly with this shop as I've never experienced this with any shop I've taken vehicles to before. Very disappointed and feel like something very crooked is going on there. DON'T BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! read more

FILLED WITH CROOKS!!! BEWARE!! Car was taken back 3 times, each time they worked on it, we got it back with more issues, or work that was incomplete! conclusion- went to get repairs done, had to get it towed out before they caused more damage! STAY AWAY!!! read more

Did a brake job and suspension work for me. Several days later while driving, the caliper fell off leaving me stranded. They forgot to tighten the bolt. I also caught them trying to charge me 300% over the retail price for parts. read more

I am not a fan of sites that allow people to anonymously criticize a business without having the guts to say something to the business owners face, which is why I feel it important to speak out when I am very pleased with the work done by Steve and his crew at Steve's Auto Repair in Star. When you bring in a used vehicle for repair, you sometimes open a can of worms, as had happened to me in this case. Steve and his team worked very hard, kept me informed throughout the entire process, completed the repairs in a timely manner, and even worked with an extended warranty company on my behalf. Without going into great detail I will just say, I have found a local garage I can trust to bring my vehicles to, get an honest opinion, and good work done at a fair price. After all, isn't that all we are really looking for in an auto repair shop? I have found mine! read more

I am utterly disappointed and disgusted. I was told a certain price by darin and when i walked in to pay i got charged more. These mechanics think girls are dumb but im not its funny how i already knew they were gonna rip me off but i was stuck doing it only because i needed my car asap. I paid and walked out. We took our vehicle to get repaired, and they had the car almost a week, and then we got a call from the shop owner, saying they still hadn't fixed the car. We pressed to get answers and the story always changed. We will never deal with them again. Liars ands Loosers! read more

I called AAA road service today to help with a dead battery. Just had back surgery so couldn't run down to my local automotive service. AAA sent a young man from Steve's who arrived right on time & had a great attitude from the git-go. He did his system diagnostic in short order & determined that I don't really need a new battery just a 'trickle charge' overnight. He then described the few things that could have drained my 3 yr old battery prematurely. After not starting it for 2 weeks it was really my bad but he told us of another position contributing factor: I keep my 2015 Honda CRV fob in a bowl just inside the garage door. So for those two weeks, my security system kept locating the fob using battery all the while. So I ordered a 'trickle charger' on Amazon and moved my fob to a bowl in our bedroom - case solved. I wish I could remember his name but this is the guy who forgot to fire his car up for two long weeks. I'm sure that he or his boss might recognize who he is but, at the least, Steve gets some well-deserved kudos. read more

worst auto repair shop ever. took my car in to get looked at to see if i can drive it to cali and back, nothing was leaking before i took it in. only problems were with my rpm and it would go up to about 5 when i would first start after being stopped. I had even checked all of my fluids a few days before going in and they were completely normal. Steve gave me a list of what should be done to my car and the total was about 800$. i did not let him do any repairs because i felt that a lot of it wasnt necessary and he just wanted to make a quick buck. Very next day, my coolant is completely gone and there is fluid seeping from my car and there are puddles on my drive way. unacceptable. if you are a girl that knows nothing about cars, this man will take advantage of that 100%. read more

Taking your car into the shop can be like walking into a dentist - painful and expensive! This recently happened to me when I took my car into Steve's Auto Care in Star. I thought I had an exhaust problem that might run $500 tops. It turned out to be a transmission problem (and a few other things) that ended up being around $3,900.00 - that's the OUCH and the Expensive part. I picked up my car after about 3 weeks or so in the shop - excited to have wheels again. My wife and I were very disappointed to find out the car acted worse than when we took it in. We returned the car to Steve - expecting to get a run-around. But no, instead, we received the utmost in professionalism and courtesy. Steve not only fixed the car better than before, but he also fixed a problem that was going to cost us down the road - and he did so for free! Steve, is a very honest and conscientious businessman.
