I've had my cars serviced there for 30 years. Recently I had the brakes done first the front and 6 months later the rear. shortly after I started having trouble, it felt as though the brakes had not been change and were worse than when I brought it back to have them check the brakes again. They said they could not find a single problem and told me I should consider taking it to the dealer. I did as they suggested, and Lexus found springs hanging off the front brakes and the rear pads badly burnt with the rotors from the shotty installation they had to be resurfaced. Hope their happy with the money they made off me over the 30 years I've. had my cars serviced there but I won't be back. Plenty of other places to go. Called about new tires (I know nothing about cars I just know I need tires) and was talked to like I was an inconvenience and stupid. Ended up canceling appointment. I got an appointment to have a leaky tire fixed the same afternoon that I called. The tire was repaired within 45 minutes after I arrived no problem. The manager advised me of my other tires status, etc. Easy and quick. read more

I went in to get my A/C fixed it was normal at first as I was waiting there an Asian lady came in. The front desk employee was being snotty and rude to tell her that they had no openings for the day. I think his name was Adam or Andy. Later he came to give me an update and then left. I had a few more questions and he says "were you not listening before" which I was, he just never mentioned the information I was asking before. He then continued to belittle me and talk as if I was unintelligent to answer the questions I had, similar to the Asian lady before. I paid for an inspection, for him to tell me they don't if there is a leak or not, and to use my A/C until dye shows where the leak is, and pay 400 dollars to fill up 100 percent even though they don't know where the leak is. That's a SCAM if I don't know what is. Unprofessional and rude. read more

Not to be trusted! Worst experience ever from totally incompetent manager and employees. A simple oil change turned into a complete nightmare and issue (fluid leak) is still unresolved after four trips back. Never had a leak since I bought the car. NEVER! Firestone charged me $53.00 for a dye test to see where oil was leaking from. Came back with a bill of $233.00 to change a gasket. I was told to come back in a month just to make sure everything is ok. I had to return the next day because my car was still leaking. I was presented with another estimate for $336.00 for another gasket/and or oil pan. I left Firestone immediately and I took my car to a reputable mechanic in the area. I felt like a total fool explaining Firestone's claims. The mechanic was rolling his eyes and grinning the entire time. This guy went above and beyond to help me and everything Firestone has charged me for thus far is now being challenged. I will be filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Fraud of Illinois. I work way to hard to be jerked around by a bunch of amateurs! read more

Looking to give a local business some work instead of taking my car to a National chain to have winter tires mounted and balanced, I gave these guys a shot today. The intent was to also have them take care of a much-needed alignment at the same time, and kill two birds with one Firestone, so to speak. I arrived a few minutes late to my appointment, though the place was already emptied out for the day. The only guys left in the place were one working behind the counter and one youngish filthy dirty kid in the shop. They promptly took care of me, and got my car inside and ready to work on, with specific instructions of what I wanted done. After a few minutes, I was notified that, "my car has 17" wheels and with the 17" lugs, they didn't have anything that would work." Confused and a bit dazed, I said, "what?" He repeated the odd statement about having 17" lugnuts and confused me even more. After a few blunt seconds, I realized that he meant 17 millimeter lugnuts, which every German car I have ever owned used. What I was being told was that they didn't have a 17mm socket to remove my lugnuts to get the wheels off of the car. The *experienced* techs went home and locked up their personal tools, leaving Skippy the new guy with no tools but the ones he had purchased himself. Which apparently only included a set of Fisher-Price plastic screwdrivers and hammers. At that point, I had fleeting thoughts of my THREE 1/2" drive 17mm sockets sitting in my socket drawer of my own toolbox. I was told, "he's young and hasn't bought all of his own tools yet." Wait, what? First, I have had a full set of 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive metric sockets since I was 14 and I don't work on cars for a living. Two, how did this kid get a job in a service shop without a set of tools that include simple metric sockets? Three, what kind of shop doesn't have basic metric sockets to use on cars that come in after the daytime techs go home? Four, all cars sold in the US since 1990 have used ALL METRIC fasteners... what the hell kind of automotive shop is this? I immediately went into panic mode in my head, trying to figure out how to get my car off of the lift and the keys back in my hand as soon as possible. I needed to get out of this tire dealer as fast as I could. There is absolutely NO WAY IN HELL I will ever let this service shop touch a single thing on my car ever. Like a restaurant without a dishwasher, a baker without ovens, a carpenter without a hammer, an electrician without wire cutters, a dentist without a toothbrush... this tire dealer and service center had no metric lugnut socket to remove the wheels from my car. I can't fathom how they perform any work on anyone's car at any point throughout the day. And if the only person in the shop that can work on my car has no tools, then I will find some other place that can handle the simple task of removing a wheel. Wow. Just. Wow. Do yourself a favor if you are looking for tires, and go about 50 feet north of this Firestone dealer to the Discount Tire location a stone's throw from the parking lot. If they did alignments, I would have used them again already, and as it will play itself out, I'll be there tomorrow morning having the tires mounted by people who know what they are doing. read more

Great service. Helped me remove a damaged tire and mounted a different tire for me. The place was clean and busy on this Friday night. It was so busy that the guy at the service counter told me there were no technicians available at the moment but that he could go do it himself if I gave him a few minutes. He did not look like he was a tech, but sure enough he took care of the job. I feel he just as easily could have told me "all the techs are busy, you are going to have to wait". With so many different options of shops to go to I really do think small gestures and attitude make or break a place. Avoid the Discount Tire next door at all costs and come to a shop that wants your business. read more

Store manager does good for customer loyalty. Car was a little messy after some tire work but he made things better.

The car interior, exterior, everywhere the technician touched, the floor mat was BLACK. Don't these places use paper on the mat. My floor mat needs replacing. Have not spoke to them yet but I will be insisting on reimbursement. The wheel is a disaster with grease which I can understand but THE INTERIOR. This is long overdue but this place deserves a review. It was Memorial Day and my car had a flat tire and not one place was open near my home. I finally found this place open on the holiday. They took my car in and fixed the problem immediately. I decided to get an alignment and all new tires which fixed the problem of my car shaking at high speed. I've been using Firestone for 20 years in different states and these guys did such a great job for me. I was in and out exactly on schedule and they did just what I needed, no more. The customer service could not be better. I worked with Mike Mahalas, and he was great. My complaint is pricing. It is basically offensive. I understand you have to make money somehow as a business, but literally raping your customers is not the way. Took in my Toyota Sequoia for a vibrating brake issue and squeaking belts ... $140 to re-surface rotors??? That's 1,000,000% profit, That should be $10-20 max per rotor. $174 to replace drive belts?? There are 2, they are $12 and $9 a piece for each, and it takes 10-20 minutes for a monkey to do it, that's a $70-80 max job any day of the week. Front calipers, quote says $157 each and $496 labor for the front axle. Calipers are $77 each on Rockauto, then $25 back after core return, so $52 each, $112 total for BOTH, with warranty. It's a 2 hour job at most. No idea where $496 came from, even if it does include brake bleeding and new fluid, that's still absolutely outrageous. No price matching, only an offer for the Firestone credit card and 10% off first purchase. I will never have service done here again. Alignments only from now on. Also, wheel alignments used to be $64, now they're $90 and the lifetime alignment used to be $164, now it's $199. Not sure what happened with Firestone but this sucks..... read more

Went into Firestone for tire sale. I purchased four new tires. At the recommendation of the service writer, I authorized a alignment. The tech could not loosen the sleeve on the right side wheel so he took a torch and a pipe wrench to it. Bend the hell out of it. Service writer told me I must pay for new sleeve and tie-rode ends for the alignment to be done. Repaired sleeve and tie-rods elsewhere. Took it to Tuffy two doors down for alignment and no issues at all. FIRESTONE, WD-40 or BLASTER lubricants work wonders! read more

Took my car in to have the check engine light diagnosed to the point of failure (because I am on the road and don't have diagnostic equipment), rather than just having a code "read/pulled" like what the auto parts stores do. First, they pulled my car into one of their bays and is just sat there for awhile before someone did anything with an OBDII scanner. Once they scanned it they came back and told me my oxygen sensor on bank 1 sensor 2 was getting no voltage (which is essentially what the "readers" at autozone were telling me. He immediately wanted to sell me a replacement sensor that would cost 250 dollars plus a fuel system cleaning in addition to the 115 dollar fee to get the check engine light scanned. At that point I told him no and asked to see if he ensured the sensor was plugged in into the harness and he had told me that it was, which right then and there I knew was a lie because you have to throw it on a lift to determine if the sensor was plugged in or not. Not once was my car put on a lift for them to actually look at the sensor itself. I also asked the tech/adviser what side bank 1 was on and he told me it was on the driver side, which again, it is not. Bank 1 is where cylinder one is at and in my case cylinder one is located on the passenger side thus making bank 1 on the passenger side. So in good faith I went to buy a replacement sensor at NAPA for 50 bucks and was going to replace it myself which is just a quick 10 minute job. When I went down to disconnect the sensor from its harness to remove it... I noticed the O2 sensor wasn't plugged in thus the reason for no voltage. These guys have no idea what they're doing and their diagnostic techniques are lack luster to say the least, they just want to sell you overpriced goods and services. If i chose to have the sensor replaced there, homeboy would have probably replaced the wrong one too! Service was performed late October 2013. read more

I just spent over $1000 on tires alignment and drive chain fluid changes. I have no complaints with product quality or service. Which is why I keep using this shop. read more
