I made an…read moreappointment for Saturday (8/1) at 10:00 AM expecting my vehicle would at least be looked at that day. Around 3:00 PM on Saturday, I called for an update and was told there wasn't even a diagnostic technician working that day, so my car wouldn't be checked until Monday because they were closed on Sunday. It would have been nice to know that before I dropped my car off. Monday came and I never received a call. I called them myself at 12pm and was told they only had one diagnostic technician and were extremely backed up. I was also given several other excuses, including that their manager had an emergency on Friday and things were disorganized. Later that afternoon, around 3:00 PM, I called again and was assured they would have a full crew on Tuesday and that my car would definitely be checked. They also explained that diagnostics are only performed from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, with repairs taking up the rest of the day. Tuesday came and, once again, I received no update. I had to call again, only to be told that my car most likely wouldn't be looked at until Thursday. After expressing how frustrated I was with the repeated delays and lack of communication, they said they would prioritize my vehicle and have it completed on Wednesday. When Wednesday arrived, I called around 12:00 PM for yet another update. That's when they casually told me, "Oh, actually we were able to do it yesterday," and that they didn't find anything wrong with the vehicle. No one had bothered to call me to let me know the diagnosis had already been completed. My biggest issue wasn't even the diagnostic result, it was the complete lack of communication and the constant excuses. I had to call every single time to get an update, and each conversation came with a different explanation and a different promise that wasn't kept. If your shop is backed up, just be upfront with customers instead of repeatedly giving timelines that aren't accurate. This experience was frustrating and disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend this shop based on the customer service alone.

Shortly after the service, I noticed a loud whining noise coming from the rear end. When I brought it back, they claimed they did nothing wrong, but offered to replace the axle bearings and seals for free. When I picked up my car, they told me it wasn't safe to drive on the freeway--this was shocking considering the car had always been well-maintained and in great shape. I then took my Mustang to Central Automotive for a second opinion. Their inspection found internal scarring where the axle seals sit, plus significant metal fragments on the internal magnet. In the end, the entire rear end had to be rebuilt--an extremely expensive repair that should never have been necessary after a simple fluid change. Central Automotive did a fantastic job fixing it, but I will never return to Point S/Easthill Tire. What should have been routine maintenance turned into a costly and stressful ordeal.

Yesterday they put a new set of all-weather high tractions on my SUV. I called to verify they weren't fully booked, and Tony said, "we just added two new bays solely for new tire purchases. Come in any time, yes, we can get you out by end of day." My car had mismatched tires sizes and one rim a different diameter, all due to emergency repairs in the last year. Yesterday they gave me credit for one odd new tire, standardized all the tires and rims, and mounted a new tire as the spare. Tony remembered me from the phone call and pulled up my account, verified the history on my SUV, then recommended the best tire options for my type of driving. His service and attention was thorough and immediate. He answered questions I didn't even know to ask. Actual work time on the vehicle was 45 minutes, and it included full service on the spare tire, as well as the four tires I purchased. The installation included new stem grommets and full attachment to the dashboard diagnostic system for low air pressure monitoring. Today I'm driving over Snoqualmie and Blewett, satisfied that I'm safe from tire trouble in the snow! That satisfaction is worth the extra time it took from my day yesterday. Buying on Schwab's credit gives me peace of mind, knowing I can always afford emergency work and purchases on the road, even if I'm in another store; my account is linked to all Les Schwabs. If I forget a payment, Angela in accounting calls me with plenty of advance warning. They've also performed full brake service on all my vehicles, even the Mercedes proprietary pads and disks, which they buy from Mercedes. Are their prices the lowest? I don't know. I go for the service. It's not worth my time to shop prices. Even 5-Stars is under-rating Les Schwab!

While my car was at the shop, one of the employees came out and told me they had broken one of my lug studs. He initially said it would cost $90 to fix. When I asked why I was being charged for something that happened while the car was in their care, I was told it was likely because a previous mechanic had overtightened it. That explanation did not make sense to me because I had personally torqued the lug nuts to 80 ft-lbs with a torque wrench before bringing the car in. The vehicle had also been parked in my garage for several months and was in proper condition when I brought it to the shop. A few minutes later, the manager came out and said the repair would actually cost around $400 because additional work would be needed. That sudden change from $90 to $400 was very frustrating and made the situation even worse. This is also not my first issue with this location. In the past, I brought my truck in to replace a TPMS sensor on the left rear wheel, but the sensor was replaced on the right rear wheel instead. Overall, I was disappointed with the service, communication, and accountability. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this shop.
