I came here yesterday for an oil change. Beforehand, I called to confirm that this location accepted the $29.99 oil change offer listed online, and I was told yes. After my service was finished, I was suddenly told my total was $62. When I showed the coupon on my phone, I was told they don't take it, even though the website shows this location does. I spoke with Shane, who said he was trained to tell customers they don't honor the coupon here. That's simply not true, I've used the exact same coupon at this location before. He told me to return during the week and speak with the manager, Rocky. When I came back today, Rocky told me they've "switched to a new package" for oil changes and that I received more than a standard oil change, he claimed my service included a tire rotation, alignment, and vehicle inspection. I never requested a rotation, and I already have a lifetime alignment package, and they gave me no paperwork showing that an alignment was even performed. On top of that, I was billed $22 for a vehicle inspection I never asked for. To fact-check, I called another Firestone location and they confirmed they still accept the $29.99 coupon with no problem. So Rocky's statement that "none of the Firestones accept it" was false. As a woman, I'm unfortunately familiar with car shops trying to upsell or take advantage, but this experience was particularly disappointing. Firestone is my new favorite place! My car stalled out on the thruway, so I brought it to Firestone, and they were so helpful. Kyle was so honest and realistic with me, and Matthew went above and beyond to help me! My car wouldn't start, and he helped me get it started so I could get home and not have to call a tow. He used his own vehicle to help get my car started and followed me home to make sure my car didn't stall on me again. (Which it did, lol). He helped me when it did stall again. I have gone here before and thought they did a good and fast job, so that was appreciated. However, when I got my headlight changed last week I had a question about my transmission, as my car was not driving normally. There were two men there, and the first one asked when was the last time I had my transmission serviced. Before I could respond that I wasn't sure because the car had been given to me by a family member a few months before, the second man turned to the first like I wasn't standing there and said "omg, you're supposed to get your transmission serviced?!" in a valley girl voice. I'm the first to admit I don't know much about cars but I felt really insulted and didn't think it was professional or necessary. In the end, I guess they take care of cars but if you want kind, respectful customer service, this isn't the place to go (especially if you're a woman). read more

They are really trying to sale you repairs you don't need and don't do their jobs properly on top of that... By far the worst mechanic I went to in all my time owning a car. And I strongly suspect them to push repairs I didn't need on me because I'm a woman and not native English speaker. Ladies, AVOID! Bad luck for them my grandpa was a mechanic and even though I don't know the technical words in English I have a basic understanding of a car... Went in just to get an oil change and a tire swap and got out with a quote of over $1100: they told me I absolutely needed to change both my rear calipers, brake pads and rotors. I didn't really like the sound of that and went for a second opinion. Surely enough, the calipers didn't need to be changed, just cleaned/oiled. The repairs ended up costing me less than half of what I was initially quoted. Go check out Troy's Best Body Shop for reliable and trustworthy service. Also they messed up my bill and charged me for tire disposal when I didn't need to dispose of my tires. I saw it only because I happened to look at the detail of the bill on the way home and had to turn back to get a refund. On top of all that, they broke a stud and DIDN'T TELL ME! I saw it as a foot note on the bill and when I went in to complain and ask them to repair it, they didn't take responsability, telling me it wasn't their fault because my studs were rusty, and that they wouldn't change it because it would be changed more easily when I'll have my calipers changed anyway. Finally, cherry on the cake, when I went to another car shop to get the work done on my brakes, I learned they had cross-threaded ALL my studs and they ALL needed to be changed, not just the broken one. I had a terrible experience after having patronized this location for a good few years. They did a simple oil change for me last November and just a few weeks later, I noticed puddles of oil on my driveway. Upon bringing it in to have them take a look, the mechanic who worked on it realized he had inserted the plug incorrectly and replaced it (on his own time) for no charge. Here's where the shady part begins: the paperwork I received had not a single detail about the work that was done. Fast forward a month or so later, more leakage from my oil pan. Upon bringing it back a second time (with the detail-less job description in-hand), the staff member looked it up on their system and responded, "Well the only one here who would have details about the job is the mechanic who made the mistake...and he's in Texas now." The manager, of course, was not present and my oil pan was shot. Therefore, I couldn't leave without them replacing it. I was charged full price for the work and parts and was never contacted by any manager. A second incident occurred in the waiting area. A senior citizen was having her inspection done and a staff member approached her claiming she needed a "special wiper blade" for her Hyundai, and that "special blade" will run her $57. Thankfully, another woman was present, confronted the staff member, got on her phone and contacted AutoZone who had the exact wiper needed......for $12. The staff member, stumbling over his words, apologized, repeatedly blamed the "computer system" and how the "computer system" hadn't made that mistake before. Dishonesty is one of the primary values of this establishment. Please beware. read more

These guys are a total rip off. They tried to steal the tires off my new car (18,000 miles on it) when I wanted to replace them with Firestone all seasons. I planned to use the ties only in winter, and the existing tires in the summer. Someone employed there stole them, and they tried to tell me some worn out tires were mine (thus selling me new ones and stealing the old ones). A complaint to their main office yielded nothing; Eric the so called manager a loser. If you have any sense, do not waste your money here. These guys are low class thieves. read more

This is my regular car place as well. I travel a lot and they've actually corrected a job that a location in Syracuse did for me at no charge. They are happy to put on tires/rims from TireRack.com for a good price. There are usually coupons on their website which help because they are kinda pricey. I would definitely recommend them, and I've used them myself probably a dozen times since I moved to the area 3 years ago. I also have their credit card which helps for more expensive repairs. read more

I had to change my appointment to leaving my car there, to having to wait for my tires to get done. The workers were flexible in this and my car was done in 45 minutes. The mechanics were quick and very nice. One problem I did have was when I was driving after having my tires done, it sounded like something metal was falling off my car. First and foremost, this place deserves a rating of negative 100 not only because of their terrible customer service, but because they told me to fix something which did not have to be fixed. I took their advice and ended up coming back with the same problem I went in with the last time. Expect this time I had paid for the new parts and labor so it did not make sense to me as to why I would have the same issue. Turns out I only had to replace one small part, which would of a cost a fraction of the price. I did not get a refund on the extra parts and labor I had to spend- I was very disappointed because like most people I'm struggling to make ends meet- and I did not need to incur the extra costs. Overall, I do not recommend this place- bring your car to a place that has integrity and is not worried about their bottom line to the point where they have to tell you to fix things that are not wrong with your car. read more

This place is without question the worst chain auto repair shop I have ever encountered. We went there for an oil change and an inspection. We left here with clunking from the rear. We returned within 2 hours and were told our rear brakes and drums needed to be replaced. This was really odd because we had no sound or anything when we went there. Nothing! We thought it was odd but we had the repairs done for $600!!! nevertheless. This time we left and got on the thruway relieved that nothing was supposedly wrong. 5 minutes later, the van was wobbling all over the place. It was scary! It was out of control. So we immediately return to Firestone and are told we need to leave it again for the night! So we got a rental and waited for their call again. This time they claimed both front axles and seals were destroyed and needed to be replaced in addition to a ball joint for a total of $1170!! Wth! This place is out of control! When I got agitated the one handed manager (Dave) could only say, "well if you go to the doctor for a bad shoulder and then leave with a bad knee, it's not the dr's fault"! What is that???!! I've never been to any dr for one problem and leave with another! Have you!? Well anyways, we told them off and slowly drove to a friends garage. His mechanic said that someone had pounded one of the axles with what appeared to be a ball hammer! Obviously vandalized. Something else that I can't recall right now was also odd and out of place. Not recommended to visit this place. I had a bad experience with firestone. My car wasn't fixed even after visiting here more than twice. I had to tow the vehicle to this same place in just two hours of driving and checking out from here, then they came up saying there is a problem with leakage. Why didn't they check this a day before I dropped off here? When car was shut off first time they replaced alternators and with in an hour my car was shut off and I could notice smoke. Then they had to fix by adding coolant. After two days again the car wasn't starting this time I changed this place. read more

Worst experience ever!!! Two thumbs down. And it only got a star because I couldn't post otherwise. I had to wait an additional 2 to 3 hours when the car had already spent the whole day there. They are rude, inconsiderate and very over priced. They told me my car would be ready at 4 and I didn't get out until 6pm.
