We have tried this place several times and the service on the bar side is not so good. Blonde server could care less that we are there, never asks if our food was good or right, slow at refilling beers and cocktails. We usually order the same pizza but it is never consistent. Sometimes it's great and other times it's greasy and toppings don't stay in the crust, sometimes the crust is cracker thin and perfect and other times it's soggy. Hopefully they will get their stuff together. read more

I was very surprised by Fireside Grill and Bar, I think the location has always made me wonder how good can the food be if its connected to a hockey rink, maybe my expectations were low, but the food was really good, we ordered Thai lettuce wraps for an app and they were delicious, they did use romaine lettuce which made it a little difficult to "wrap" but our plate was gone in 5 minutes. We stuck with the normal grill food from there. My wife got a patty melt, my son got a burger, and I had a Rueben. All of our sandwiches were delicious and tasty. The decor is very sports bar with a northern cabin feel, but very comfortable. There is a bar side and a restaurant side, on the bar side you can watch players on the hockey rink. I would definitely try the Fireside again. read more

Nice little find here in a Rosemount strip mall. First, for a strip mall bar, it actually has a decent vibe to it. But what really makes it for many is the huge windows connecting to the adjacent hockey rink. Great way to spend an hour while the kids are at practice. Truth be told, didn't try the food. read more

Last night was our first time there. The food was good, but the service, well, it kinda sucked. The server was almost nowhere to be found and we had to flag her down a few times. We finished our meal and we were there for about a hour or so after we finished to hopefully have some drinks, but soon after we finished our meal the server brought us our bill, we paid, and then we never saw her again. We for sure would have had at least $50.00 more in drinks, which is all lost revenue for this place, but we did not want to have to keep on flagging down the server for every little thing we needed. We may go back again, hoping that the server was just new, or something. The only thing that I did not like (and Fireside cannot really control this) was all the hockey brats playing outside getting in everyones way and standing in the parking lot, preventing people from driving. read more

My wife Sue and I stopped in for dinner at your establishment on Saturday 11/30. We were greeted right away and the hostess asked us if we had a seating preference. We said the dining room and she sat us right in front of one of your fireplaces. What a great choice. We were very comfortable. Your wait staff could not be better. It was pretty busy that evening. We made it in time for happy hour which my wife was real excited about. You have a very good selection of house wines. The food came fast, fresh, and hot. It was very delicious. We ordered the buffalo chicken salad and a chicken wrap. The atmosphere was very comfortable and the decor is spot on. I will let be back soon. read more

This was our second time at the restaurant. The first time we went the food was good, not excellent but good. The second time we decided to try the pizza. They claim they have "award winning pizza". We ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and it was awful. It looked like a frozen pizza and tasted like a frozen pizza. It even had the piece of carton in between the pizza and the metal tray. I really like the idea of having a bar connected to a hockey rink. It makes for good entertainment while you are enjoying a cocktail. I just wish I didn't feel like I was paying for drinks at an actual hockey arena. Didn't try the food but it looked like they had some great daily specials. If you like hunting for cougars I think this is a place you would love! Might be a fun place during actual hockey season. read more

Place is ok , slow service and only 20 people inside . Food was nothing special -Denny's , Perkins level . Don't plan on using the restroom . Shared with "The Pond" ice rink next door . Full of 10 year old hockey players. No soap, no towels , plumbing for urinal was ripped out of the wall and missing . WOW read more

Went there and had breakfast last week. We had a coupon for half off a breakfast. Place was pretty crowded but service was exceptional. All the food was really good and I think we would go back again. If breakfast was that good I can't imagine how good lunch is. They have a full-blown hockey rink inside the restaurant. The atmosphere was really fun - there seemed to be good energy with everyone seeming to be having a good time. I thought the food was good and our service was great. There were 4 of us in our party and we had not gotten together in a while so we spent a lot of time catching up with no pressure to order. Once we were ready our waitress took our order and our food was delivered in a very timely manner. Our waitress was always checking in on us and making sure our drinks were taken care of and once our food was delivered she made sure to check on us to see if we needed anything else. The atmosphere is hockey themed next to a hockey rink and you can see players playing on the ice. If you are a hockey fan a very cool place to get something to eat. My girlfriend and I really liked this place and the food was great. I had the Fireside burger with hand cut fries and a sweet tea. The burger was good and the fries are good but, eat them when they are hot they will get soggy. My girlfriend had the Tilapia sandwich (which I had half) with sweet potato fries. The sandwich had lots of seasoning and the fries were sweet which were very good. All and all the service was great and I will be going back again sometime soon. read more

I've had nothing but great service and great food here. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The most awful service you will get at any restaurant, anywhere. I live in Rosemount, and really liked the idea of this place. Pizza and some pretty standard menu items, at a locally owned establishment that is NOT Applebees or another Carbones. The ice rink connected to it makes it a great place to congregate with your hockey-parent friends. The food is decent bar & grill fare. It's not going to win any culinary awards, but that's not exactly what the place was created for. The problem is, the service is horrid. I brought a group of my friends here once, my suggestion. None of the rest of the group had been there before. We were operating on separate checks, which I know is a PITA for servers. But she apparently didn't know how to operate the POS system, as our separate checks were also entered as separate parties. Everyone's food came at haphazard times. One friend's pasta was delivered... then the server returned to say it would be at least 10 minutes before any other food was ready, so she wanted to take my friend's food. The server was like, "We can put it under a heat lamp lady." On no less than three separate occasions, she tried to take my friend's pasta away. Finally all but one of the rest of us received our food. Unfortunately, several of us had to send our food back to be heated the rest of the way. The last person in our party received her food 30 minutes after the rest of us. I was completely embarrassed as I was the one who recommended this place to the group. I "boycotted" Fireside for a while after that visit, just returning for bar or dessert visits. The service was middling at best - they were offering prefab desserts that just needed a little nuking, so a dessert trip shouldn't have been 40 minutes - but it wasn't as terrible as my expectations had. And then I made a return dining trip with my family. We placed our orders (2 kids, 2 adults), then didn't see our server again for 40 minutes (40 minutes!) and it wasn't to deliver our food. It was to inform us that three of the meals would be ready in 10 minutes, but that one entree was now out of stock and I needed to order something new. We had just waited 40 minutes for that lovely piece of information. We opted to just take those 3 remaining meals to go (our children were pretty much pumpkins by this point, and ready to go home), and the restaurant only offered a measly 10% discount off our order. Pathetic. We take our family's Rosemount restaurant business to Las Tortillas, Rudy's, Giuseppe's, Carbone's, Topps, and, heck, even Applebees before we would consider setting foot back in Fireside. read more

We have gone to this restaurant a few times and now have had two very bad experiences that will make it so we don't go back again. Both times we put our name on the list and were passed over or our name was crossed off. this last time was last night it was not extremely busy but put out name down for three of us was given a buzzer thing and it never went off after people that just came in door were seated I went up to find my name crossed off again. We had sat there for a good 45 min to be seated this should never happen when there are three to four people at the reception area I work in customer service and from what other review I have read they really need to get a grip on this problem. Very good food. I had the Philly Cheesesteak, my wife had the "hat trick" burger, and my 1 year old daughter had the chicken tenders. We we all very happy with the quality of the food and the level of service. The restaurant was very busy but still got seated immediately and our meal was served within 15-20 minutes from ordering. We rented the "Warming House" private party room at the Fireside. They were wonderful in letting us decorate & choose the layout, The dinner options, the bar options and all the other details were exactly what they said they'd be. Working with Kim to plan everything was wonderful. He gave us plenty of options & helped us through every step of the decision making process. I've been to Fireside Warming House multiple times. During my last visit, the Half Roasted Chicken was not as flavorful compared to other meals that I've had in the past. I wouldn't suggest the Roasted Chicken, but the Walleye and Prime Dip Sandwich are very tasty. The drink specials are a good deal with two for one drinks before 7:00. read more

I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The decor of the restaurant is tasteful. It is a pleasant mix of sports memorabilia with an upscale north woods feel. We sat next to the fireplace, which was just what I needed on a blustery day. The fireplace also provides a nice buffer between the bar and dining area. Food is awful... I've tried this place 4 different times and always have been disappointed. All 4 times I told staff that I didn't care for the meal and didn't eat it and still charged me full price for it. The last time i was there for drinks and the bar tender spilled the whole drink on my lap and just made me another one. !st time we ate here was two weeks ago. Stuck in the back room, food was OK, service poor. Last night, our second visit. Seated in front room, waitress couldn't answer any of our questions (not even what type of fish for the Friday Fish). Our beers were served 10 minutes after order and waitress never offered another. Unable to find our waitress several times, so we stopped other waiters and they helped us with reorders. Food was extremely oversalted and we requested new fries and fish (who salts fish fry?!). Reorder rrived about 10 minutes after ordered. The fish was "chewy" - not sure why, but was not appealing. Shrimp was good and unsalted. Very poor service, except the table next to us seemed to have all the waiters talking to them for most of our visit. If a manager was on duty, I'm disappointed. Many things took place that should have been noticed. I'm disappointed because we like to patronize neighborhood cafes, but I think we're done with this one. Oh yes, also - the music was so loud we heard several people complaining. Not conducive to eating. read more

3 of us retired couples met there for a lunch at l2:00 this past Monday. The restaurant may have been 20% full and yet our lunch took 2 hours. I don't know if I have every experienced such slow service with so many excuses as I did there. (My husband and I average eating out 3-4 times a week.) We waited at least 15 minutes for each step of the process, being acknowledged, bringing water, taking orders, serving drinks, bringing food then checks. The worst part, was asking for a soup spoon for my thick soup, the waitress responded that "all they had were teaspoons, as all the soup spoons were dirty and she would have to wash one". Also, no refills on coffee as the cups were all dirty, then they had to make more coffee and did I want her to do that. Duh? After complaining to the manager, I did get a soup spoon, but he never came back to check on us and no acknowledgement for the POOR service. The food was good, but who cares with such terrible service. read more
