Wow, what happened to this place? My family and I go to this place a fair amount of time in the winter and a few times during the summer. In the past I have accepted that this place is within a resort and restaurant things are going to be a bit pricey but there are limits. I ordered a personal pizza to go, very expensive for what I got. Paid with my credit card and gave her a few bucks cash as a tip, normally I don't tip on to-go orders. When I came back to pick up my pizza I ordered a Coke to go, $5.15 for a 10oz, soft drink which I paid for in cash. The kicker here is that I gave her $6 in cash and she just kept the change. I thought this to be a bit odd but let it go. A few days later I was looking at the receipt and I noticed that I was charged a "Service Charge" for the pizza. Really, a service charge for a to-go order that I didn't even authorize?! Nice. This has become a hard pass for me in the future. Good luck! read more

You can't beat the location at Palisades. You are surrounded by beauty all year round. My friends and I ate inside to enjoy the cool AC, but they had outside seating. A huge party of 10 sat down before us so we were a little slow to get our drinks and order our food, which was fine. Sometimes that happens when there are big parties. Our food was delicious! The garlic parmesan fries were perfection! I highly recommend them as an appetizer. I got the personal chicken bacon pizza. The white sauce made this pizza for me. The chicken was cooked well and the crust was thin and crispy. One friend ordered the spaghetti bolognese, the other a Greek salad, and the other got the wings. My bite of the spaghetti was flavorful. The sauce was delicious. My wing was excellent and cooked well! I loved the side of buffalo so I could control how much sauce I wanted. The Greek salad had just the right amount of dressing. The server was great about asking if we wanted separate checks, but accidentally charged a couple of our cards with other tickets. Really good pizza! They have a nice variety of options and they load up on the toppings. The house salad is fresh tasting and had a good amount of dressing where it wasn't soggy or dry. My parents and I came here on an off season day. We like getting pizza while on vacation and we saw this place. People were enjoying eating outside since the weather was nice. We ordered to go. The service was nice. They asked for my number so we can walk around and they'll text when the pizza is ready. They gave us Parmesan cheese, chili flakes, disposable plates and ranch for our to-go pizza. Considering the price ($30), for a medium Hawaiian pizza, sub the Canadian bacon for chicken, it wasn't worth it. But it wasn't bad. The pizza did have an ok cheese pull, but still seemed not that hot considering that it should've been fresh out of the oven. The sauce was okay.. but a little salty. Another 5 star experience at Fireside. It's a must foist now for us on our annual Tahoe trips now. So much so that our kids instead that we head out our first day here. Had many of the same items, margherita pizza, bbq chicken, I tried a new one in pear and gorgonzola. That was good, but I think I liked the Thai one the best. Also had the garlic chips and artichoke dip, delish! Server Peej was nice and attentive. Another staff member quite diplomatically handled some folks who were smoking but weren't from CA/USA and aware that it is largely prohibited here. He did a great job quickly making them aware and resolving the issue with no one being left out of sorts. Sitting out on the patio was nice. We stuck three tables together to get 2 umbrellas to get all of us some shade. Only thing I was sad to miss was the heirloom salad which was not on the menu anymore All in all a great spot to visit and a must when we visit Tahoe. read more

The gluten free pizza, artichoke dip and hot wings were delicious! We substituted the pita bread for a baked gluten free crust to go with the humus dish we also ordered and the GF crust by itself was so tasty and flavorful. I would highly recommend the GF pizza crust, even our friends who don't eat GF liked it better too than the regular crust. The outdoor patio area was great for people watching and listening to the jazz festival that was going on that night. I would definitely recommend this place. The GF pizza is almost on bar with Basecamps GF Italian pizza in South Lake Tahoe which is also delicious! read more

I was looking for a place to grab dinner quickly while I was at Palisades Tahoe. Service was quick, friendly, and the pizza was pretty good - I got a Thai curry chicken personal pie. The environment is chaos but the food is good! We came here at the end of a very very snowy day. Timing was not great because the runs had all just closed for the day and Olympic Village was emptying out, so the few places still open were brimming with people. Oh, did I mention it was ski week? Lol, so busy. But thankfully we didn't have to wait long for a table. We were just grabbing a bite before heading back to the EB, and I am glad we stopped here because the artichoke dip- THE ARTICHOKE DIP. So good. We stopped by Fireside after a day on the slopes, and we were pretty disappointed by the quality of the food, especially given the price point & the fact that the restaurant advertises themselves as the best in the area. For food, we ordered the shrimp pasta and a pear + gorgonzola pizza. The pasta was incredibly bland and had virtually no flavor. We had to salt, pepper, and flavor our pasta ourselves with the condiments at the table, which is not a good look for something that is a 'Signature Dish'. The pizza also tasted off, and the flavors were not balanced - we thought it was missing the sweet component that would have made this more enjoyable. For drinks, we got a pitcher of 805 which was super refreshing. The one thing I'll note here is - with the way they priced things, getting your own individual beer glasses is probably more economical, which was strange. Overall, this was a convenient place to eat and grab a drink after a long day on the slopes, but the food quality was subpar during this visit and definitely not worth the prices they charge. read more

Good pizza spot and convenient for us since it was so close to where we stayed. It was pretty packed on a Saturday summer night but we managed to grab a four top on the patio with our dog. We were on the side so we had plenty of space for our pup. I did a glass of the Pinot noir and went with the personal size of the fire side pizza! House specialty with sausage, peppers and shrooms. It was pretty good with lots of thick cheese. The rest of the group got medium size pizzas each with the firemountain (piles of meats) or the bbq. The perfect place to go after a day in the slopes... probably one of our favorites here in Squaw. Huge dining room & we were lucky enough to get seated before the dinner crowd started rolling in. Great for families with kids as well. We got a large cesar salad (generously tossed in delicious dressing & shaved parmesan & some croutons), a dozen buffalo wings (buffalo sauce on the side & that gorgonzola dip is so good), parmesan truffle fries (yes), & a medium Fireside pizza (their most ordered one - more on the thin crust side, they don't skimp on the toppings, and surprisingly not as heavy). They serve water in very cute mason jars. Workers seem to enjoy their jobs here. They even celebrated their boss' bday while we were there and brought him a cake. Service was great. Fireside Pizza makes some surprisingly good pies! Their dough, which is the essential component for exceptional pizza, isn't soggy and it's neither too thick or too thin; it's got a good chew with just the right amount of char. The sauce they use is sweet with a subtle kick to it, and their toppings are obviously premium quality :-) So far, my favorite pie here is the pear and gorgonzola, but the pepperoni pizza is pretty darn good too! There's lots of convenient parking to be found in the Squaw Valley Village lots; service is good, even when the place gets busy. Be forewarned during peak times the noise level here can be high, so if what you're interested in is a quiet, tete-a-tete dinner then this probably isn't the place to come ;-) While the pizzas here are excellent, if you or someone in your party is interested in something other than pizza than there are many other items to be found on the menu. Available indoor seating includes both the bar area and a number of tables and booths where you can watch sports on their TVs. This place is a hidden gem in the squaw valley village. It's a great spot to grab lunch during a long day on the mountain. The large Caesar is good to split between 4 people, otherwise get the small! The fireside pizza was super tasty and the medium size was perfect to split between two people. When in Olympic Valley, Fireside Pizza is my go to pizza place. The pizza is delicious, and so is their salad and beer. We normally go with a classic pepperoni, or a vegetarian. Both are super good. To wash this down, I recommend a hazy IPA. As for seating, you can sit inside or outside. Often times, they have live music outside. First, I'd like to say, the food was delicious. Although we waited for our pizza for an hour, and ended up taking it home in a box. The salad came out after 15 minutes, and was also good. The service was terrible. After sitting at the table with empty water glasses for about 20 minutes, after our salad was done, the bus person came by and asked if he could take away our plates. We told him we hadn't gotten our pizza yet. Then the server came by with what looked like the bill, and again we told her our pizza never came. She then said she'd look into it, but never came back. The manager came after that and told us the pizza had just gone in, and he would comp the pizza. When it came out, we took it home in a box, about 75 minutes after we sat down. Very disappointing after having been there several times before. The manager also ended up filling up our water glasses. read more
