Rice and Peas and cabbage Oxtail. All gross.
    Starr R.

They deleted my comment but kept the picture of that nasty food I posted so here's a re-upload. $25 For a large plate of NO! I ordered the oxtails with rice and peas and cabbage. Not only were they gross, it didn't have that authentic stew taste at all, it was so bland like a white person made it. The rice has a kick but no Jamaican flavor no coconut nothing, just a spice, that's it. They put so much sauce that it was annoying only because it was soupy and not very tasty. There wasn't any butter beans or authentic ingredients in the oxtails and again I got 5 pieces well 3 and 2 bullshit small bones for $25. I'm from NYC, a large is $19 or $20 and it's an actual LARGE. The Oxtails here do NOT have that brown stew taste like a real Caribbean made it, I'm legit fed up with the Caribbean places over east they make me miss NYC ODEEEE. The coco bread wasn't very ashy nor did it have a fresh slightly sweet taste...it tastes like a huge roll that was in the fridge maybe a day too long. I'm serious about food so if I can help people avoid ordering from here and getting their hopes up then trust me save that coin and pay attention to reviews. I'm new here so I hope one day I can try a place that's ACTUALLY HITTIN b/c right now I wish I was back home. I heard over west has better Caribbean food and I definitely can't wait to try it. I wish I could give less than one star. Oh and the cabbage was very hard and again FLAVORLESS. Flavorless Cuisine should be the name.b

Fireside is a new restaurant just across the street from Northeast Market. It's a great addition to the neighborhood, featuring curry and jerk dishes, fried chicken, seafood, pork and beef ribs, and several types of soup. Drinks include sodas, fruit juices and ginger beer/ginger and sorrel. The portions are good, the space is very clean, and the owner is very friendly and interested in engaging with customers. They aren't going to have every single thing on the menu every day to start out, so if there's something you really want give them a call first to see if they have it ready. I got take out (there is not a lot of seating inside yet anyways), and had the goat curry with rice and peas, which also came with a steamed or stewed cabbage and some fried plantains. I'm a sucker for plantains for sure, so those were awesome. Cabbage was still a little crisp, not totally soggy, so I liked that too. The goat was tender and tasty, and cooked with carrots, and maybe some peas too but it was hard for me to tell. The rice and peas were also good and one thing I didn't expect was that it wasn't too salty. So I liked that too. None of it was spicy hot to me, so if that's what you expect maybe see if they can put some fire into it for you when you order. I'm definitely coming back - gotta try the goat head soup, red peas soup, and the kingfish for sure. Then I'm getting the jerk chicken, yum!

The food is horrible! Whoever made the so-called Rasta Chicken Pasta should stay home from work and don't return. It was horrible!

    Rasta Pasta with Shrimp

Sooo I ordered from here from Uber eats and should've looked at Yelp first smh. I ordered Rasta Pasta with shrimp. Those of you who are familiar with Rasta Pasta know damn well it doesn't look like this better yet it didn't even taste like it!!!! Never will I order from this place again.

The Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes were the star of the meal--packed with large pieces of sweet crab meat, lightly seasoned, and cooked to perfection with very little filler. The Haddock was fresh, flaky, and perfectly fried with a light, crispy coating. We also ordered the Pot Boil with crabs, shrimp, and snow crab legs, and it did not disappoint. The seafood was fresh, generously portioned, and seasoned just right, making it a fun and satisfying meal to share. What made the experience even better was the outstanding staff. Everyone was incredibly attentive, friendly, and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed and taking the time to answer our questions with a smile. Their excellent service truly elevated the entire dining experience. If you're visiting Baltimore and love fresh seafood, Faidley's at the new Lexington Market is a must-visit.

Worth the hype. On my last visit last month, I went and got a Catfish Filet and Medium Tea. The Catfish is what took this review from a 5 Star to 4. I was very unsatisfied and disappointed in the Catfish. The breading was icky. Too much, not tasty, and funny looking. The tea was ok. I will skip that as well on my next visit. I will try the Shrimp Platter upon my next visit. I would like to end this review on a better note. Customer Service was very pleasant and the atmosphere, seats, and the tabletops were clean. Ok, that's it.

We went on a Friday afternoon, and it was definitely busy, which is always a good sign. Even with the crowd, the service was fast and everyone was so friendly. I also loved that you can choose to sit inside or outside, and they have plenty of seating either way. Of course, I had to order an espresso martini. If you're an espresso martini lover, you already know they're either amazing or disappointing, there's really no in-between. I had mine made with Baileys (just a heads up, it's a small upcharge), and it was so worth it! It was smooth, rich, perfectly balanced, and definitely had a nice kick. One of the better espresso martinis I've had in a while. We ordered the seafood platter to split, and honestly, it was the perfect amount of food for two people. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and came out hot. Our waitress, Kay, was amazing! She was so sweet, patient, and happy to answer all of our questions about the menu. She recommended the espresso martini and the mac and cheese. She was spot-on about the martini! The mac and cheese was good, but it was a little on the dry side and could've used a little more seasoning. That was probably the only thing we'd change. Overall, we had a really great experience. Great food, delicious drinks, awesome service, and a fun atmosphere, it checked all the boxes. If you're nearby, definitely stop in. And if you're not, I'd honestly say it's worth making the drive. We'll definitely be back! Ratings: Food: 8/10 Drinks: 8.5/10 Ambiance: 9.5/10 Customer Service: 9.5/10 Overall: 9/10

There were some larger parties waiting, but luckily the hostess had a picnic table for 2 available outside of the bar area. The live band was good but we are old and thus were happy not to be seated so close that we had to shout to hear each other. They had signs posted saying they were out of steamed crabs, so it may be good to call before going there if that's what you're aiming for. We ordered the Brussel sprout appetizer, crab dip, and chicken Chesapeake sandwich. All three were very good. My only critique was that there was a bit too much salt on top of the crab dip. I also got a non alcoholic lemon basil fizz. I did not taste any of the basil and for $11 I would skip this next time. Overall we were happy with the experience and would gladly come back.

The waitress made a bunch of mistakes that she never apologized for like not bringing a bottle of wine we ordered until an hour after we sat down, accidentally ordering an additional seafood platter and not removing it from the check, not including fries with a dish that came with them, then charging us extra for them when we asked her to please bring them. In total lunch took over 3 hours when it should have been half that at most. Good help is hard to find these days it seems.
