We couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue. The gardens and flowers were in full bloom, giving us gorgeous photo spots everywhere we turned -- our guests were blown away by how beautiful the space was. Dave's menu was phenomenal, and Dawn kept the entire day running flawlessly. They handled every detail, even the ones we never would've thought of, and made our wedding feel effortless and joyful. We truly could not have had a better experience with Fireseed! From the beginning of our two-plus-year planning process through our wedding day, the entire team was incredible to work with. They were kind, helpful, experienced, organized, and genuinely cared about making our wedding weekend perfect. One of the biggest benefits was being able to rent the venue for the entire weekend. Having Friday to decorate and Sunday to pick up our personal items made our wedding day on Saturday completely stress-free and allowed us to actually enjoy the day. The day-of coordination was also SO helpful - having their team there to keep everything moving and handle all the little details behind the scenes took so much off our plate. The venue itself is absolutely GORGEOUS, and the food was incredible. We had guests raving about it all night and even afterward! More than anything, the people are what make Fireseed so special. It's a family-owned business with the nicest staff and genuinely wonderful people behind it. The value they provided far exceeded the price in every category - the venue, food, coordination, service, and entire weekend experience. After working with them for over two years, we truly couldn't imagine having had our wedding anywhere else. 10/10 recommend Fireseed! read more

We got married at Fireseed in June and it was truly the greatest wedding experience I could've asked for! Dave and Dawn were incredible from our first contact to the wedding day to wishing us a happy first anniversary. The venue is absolutely stunning and the food was so incredibly good, I don't think words can do it justice! I can't recommend them enough. Perfection from our first inquiries and interactions to the actual wedding day. Dawn and Dave have created a beautiful space perfect for celebrating those special moments in your life. This venue is absolutely amazing. I have been to many weddings on would be Island, but my wedding venue was my favorite (and not just because it was MY wedding!) The staff are professional, friendly, low-key and you barely know they are there. Dave met with us to tour the property, did a private tasting for my fiancé and I and met subsequent times after to tweek wedding plans due to Covid. Our wedding was BEAUTIFUL and one of the first large gatherings post shut down. They couldn't have done anything better! Thank you, Dave and Dawn!!! read more

We were so lucky to find Fireseed for our wedding. Dave and Dawn were both amazing--Dave would reach out to confirm details and would respond right away whenever I asked questions. Dawn served as our day of coordinator and made the day run so smoothly that I never felt stressed about little details. The venue itself is stunning and the food was absolutely the best wedding food I've had. Would HIGHLY recommend Fireseed!! read more

Dave and Dawn and the whole Fireseed team helped us bring our dream wedding to life. I can't imagine having worked with a more responsive, accommodating, and reassuring team when we had to delay our wedding by a year due to COVID. From coordinating rentals, vendors, and the day of run of show, Fireseed does an amazing job to make planning a wedding with them seamless and fun. On our actual wedding day, they handled all of the details so all we had to do was enjoy our day. There are so many things that make Fireseed special, but here are a few things that really stand out: 1. The venue itself is STUNNING. The grounds are covered in flower and vegetable gardens. If you want to show off PNW beauty, this is your place. Our guests had so much fun exploring. The barn where we held the reception is also gorgeous, and we really like that it had a separate lounge and bar area where our guests could sit and chat away from the dancing. I really cannot emphasize enough just how beautiful Fireseed is. 2. You will not find better food than at Fireseed. Dave and Dawn are professionally trained chefs, and everything from the passed hor d'oeuvres to pies were to die for. Most of the produce is grown locally on site, so everything is super fresh. Do not miss out on the ice cream sandwiches! 3. The staff provided outstanding service. Our day of coordinator Anna was so on top of every detail and made us feel so special. They took all of the stress out of the day so that we could just enjoy ourselves and take it all in. 4. Dave and Dawn! They are so easy and fun to work with. All of our vendors also love working with them and were very excited to be able to return for our wedding. They helped keep us organized and on track with planning and went out of their way accommodate last minute changes. We truly cannot thank them enough for helping us pull off a dream wedding we thought might never happen due to COVID. Fireseed is a truly special place, and we are now on a mission to convince all of our friends to get married there so we have an excuse to go back! read more

From start to finish, Fireseed was a dream venue. The setting is idyllic, pictures truly don't do it justice. We initially toured in the winter, and even without the garden in bloom the grounds were beautiful. Dave was so helpful throughout the planning process and his responses were consistently clear and prompt. And the FOOD. Don't even get me started. Dave made the best salmon I have tasted in my entire life, and our late night chicken sliders were a hit. Our guests are still talking about how spectacular this venue was. If more people in the city knew about this place, the waitlist would be a mile long. read more

Almost two years later, and our friends keep talking about how our wedding was the best they have ever attended. Each time our wedding gets brought up, they are sure to mention how enchanting and wonderfully otherworldly Fireseed is. Not only are Dave and Dawn incredible and so very detail-oriented, Anna (the day-of life saver and coordinator) kept us on track for time and helped manage guest's experience. I was terribly worried I would not have fun on my own wedding day as I would be stressed about the little things like set-up and DJ and such. That was not the case at all. The Fireseed team had perviously worked with the few vendors for services the venue does not provide (DJ, flowers, photographer/videographer) and everything was set up and perfect upon our arrival. I had nothing to worry about. From the gardens to the adorable miniature horses to the service, our guests were awestruck the entire event. If you are considering having your day at Fireseed, just go for it. You will not regret it, and it truly will be the magical, best-day-ever all couples dream of having. P.S -- the food Fireseed Catering provided was something you might get at a fine dining restaurant. The venue also hosted and provided dinner for our rehearsal, and everything was delicious. Our guests were thrilled at the cake, at the bartenders professionalism, and at the passed apps and specialty drinks right after the ceremony ended. Seriously right after. My husband and I went to a private room (where they had our specialty drink and passed apps ready for us so we might eat and take a breather as we signed our wedding cert!!) and the servers walked directly onto the lawn to pass out drinks and apps. A glass was never empty as servers walked around during dinner as well. Seriously, I can't get over how perfect our wedding experience was. Sorry for the long, rambling review, but long story short: Get married here if you want your special day to feel like a fairytale :) read more

Dave and Dawn are absolutely incredible to work with! Due to Covid, we changed our date ... too many times. They were extremely helpful, flexible and understanding. I am so thankful we got to have our big day at Fireseed! Every detail was perfect and stress free. Our guests are still raving about the amazing food and cake! Honestly, the best experience ever. I used to plan weddings for a living and they have this all DIALED down. Dawn, Dave and Anna blew my mind away with their professionalism and attention to detail. I have never had so many people rave about a wedding as much as my guests did. The food was out of this world good, and the service was top notch. My husband and I had the best experience with our dream wedding at Fireseed Catering! Dave and Dawn are great communicators, coordinators, and creators. Fireseed Catering is an absolute dream venue and staff to work with! Our wedding was everything we wanted and more- the grounds are gorgeous (we heard it described as a 'fairytale' over and over), Dave is so responsive and helpful during planning, Anna and Dawn run the day-of perfectly, and the food was the best I've had at any wedding! It's amazing that you get the venue for the whole weekend too- it makes it so easy to decorate on Friday, have everything you need at the venue on Saturday (hair and makeup, photography, etc), and then clean up only your own items on Sunday. This quaint little spot nestled in the woods of Whidbey surprised the heck out of me last summer! (A little back story- I'm the "always a bridesmaid never a bride" girl, who is also the wannabe wedding planner/designer who wants her own show on TLC). Now that we've got that out of the way... I had the honor of being in one of my best friends wedding and also helping her coordinate all of her day of needs with her vendors. The scenery is beautiful, the gardens are meticulous and manicured, the barn with exposed wooden beams and concrete floor is rustic and beautiful, and the grounds are private, secluded and overall romantically whimsical. The day before the ceremony we were able to do a rehearsal walk through as well as decorate as much as we wanted. I wanted the bridal party to be able to practice walking with music and the Bride had a special song for her entrance, so the owner (I believe Dave?) got on the ipod, hooked it into their sound system and played the songs with transitions just so we could practice. So awesome of him! (And of course the DJ did the music on the day of the wedding). The ceremony took place on the grass with the lake and flowers in the background. The summer sun shining through the tall trees was just dreamy. Of course I cried like a baby when my bestie came walking down. Following the ceremony there was a cocktail hour with apps. being offered by servers, as well as a signature cocktail at the outdoor patio bar. I cannot for the life of me figure out why the photographer trucked the Bride with her cathedral length veil and 5'' heels and whole bridal party through the gravel and trees out to the middle of the woods to do photos. The saving grace was the servers following us with trays of food and wine, bless their hearts. The reception included a fresh fare prepared by the owner /Chef including local products. The buffet was colorful, well thought out, did I say fresh?, yummy, and light (like plentiful vegetables and salmon- light, not like skimpy light. because if it was skimpy light I wouldn't have been able to go back for 2nds and 3rds! ok and maybe 4ths. what? I like food!). There was of course cake, and some other spread of desserts to include chocolate dipped goodies and ice cream! ICE CREAM, PEOPLE. The end of the night concluded with a dance off, conversing on the patio, exploring the grounds, and regretting I didn't pack the bug spray. Those damn mosquitoes get me every time! For a somewhat Seattle destination wedding, I would totes recommend this spot! One of the ONLY cons- ferry lines in the summer getting out to any island is horrendous. Sometimes hours of waiting. But this place- so worth the ferry wait! read more

When we got engaged, we knew that we wanted a venue that felt comfortable to us. Neither of us are fancy people and neither of us have ever dreamt of the big white wedding, so we wanted some place that we could hold our down-to-earth, small, casual wedding and not be judged. On a whim, I did a Google search for wedding venues on any of the islands and landed on Fireseed. We set up a date to meet with Dave and take a look at the place - granted, this was back in November, so the gardens were hitting their "winter sleep" look, so our first impression was...winter-y. That aside, we liked Dave right away and we liked the feel of the place right away. We loved the fact that the venue was ours for the full weekend - something we didn't really feel was important to us until we looked at a second venue, which cost much more and which only gave us the space for a total of five hours. Fireseed hosts one event per weekend, so you basically have a run of the land for your weekend. Dave was super flexible in scheduling tastings (we had to cancel and reschedule due to illnesses) and took care of all of the details with rentals, servers, bartenders, and food. Oh, the food. The food was incredible. Dave gave us a sampling of small bites and based food options on what we liked as well as what would be available locally and in-season at the time of the wedding. We couldn't have been happier with the menu we wound up with. Fireseed is also well-connected to several other vendors - photographers, florists, etc. We went through them to find a florist and an officiant and were thrilled with who we worked with. The staff brought in for the actual wedding were incredible - friendly, knowledgable, and pleasant to work with. It was a perfect day, absolutely perfect - the grounds were in full-bloom for our end-of-April wedding and the ceremony was witnessed by two bald eagles circling overhead - and if I could do it all over again, I'd go straight back to Fireseed. We received so many compliments on the venue, the food, and the staff and were so happy to pass that along. (We also got compliments on the beautiful weather, but we can't really take credit for that one...) I can't recommend Fireseed enough, but take note - they do book up fast. I heard they're basically booked into October now, so GO EARLY! read more

We had our wedding at Fireseed in 2007. Contrary to the 1-star review by an event planner who didn't even work with them(!), I found the Fireseed owners to be extremely easy to work with, thorough in their planning and event management, completely accommodating of every one of our requests (and I'm ridiculously picky!), and generally just wonderful. For our first meeting, Dave set up a tasting for us and asked numerous questions about details I hadn't even thought of. He is quite experienced, but at the same time totally willing to do things in ways they've never done before. (We set up our wedding ceremony in a spot that no one had ever used before.) One excellent detail was that we got the grounds for the whole weekend. We were completely un-rushed, had our rehearsal in place, had the use of the facility for the whole wedding day. And here's the really convincing fact: Fireseed does NOT advertise. At all. And they're always booked. There's a reason for that. In addition to the wonderful qualities of the owners and the staff that they hired to help serve food, the Fireseed grounds themselves are simply beautiful. The main garden area is wired with hidden speakers, so we plugged in our iPod and had music outside all afternoon. The food was absolutely perfect, and the day was wonderfully relaxed. Fireseed comes HIGHLY recommended from this happy bride. ------------------------- [ETA: My review was not requested by Fireseed. I signed up for a Yelp account a couple of weeks ago and wanted to review local businesses that I love and recommend to lots of people. I started writing my review before the event planner's review was up.] read more

My mom researched rustic, romantic, unique wedding venues in Washington state for months before determining her favorite by far was Fireseed. Our first visit and we FELL IN LOVE. From the rustic, outdoor wooden bar made of tree trunks, to the artfully designed garden nooks and sprawling fields and ponds in the background, to the way the light danced between the tall trees after the ceremony during the outdoor appetizers/drinks. Our mostly Seattle guests were completely in awe. Fireseed is truly a hidden gem. No photo can do this venue justice as it is overwhelmingly lovely when you are there in person. You have to go there to see it!! Dave and Dawn the owners and chefs were incredible. Not many in the wedding industry are as down to earth, kind, very patient with our intensely organized detailed 200+ person wedding. Not to mention they are the most responsive people in all of Whidbey, very quick to answer any questions we have. We didn't have a professional planner/organizer so they helped mom and I through each step of the process and it turned out PERFECT. If you are the type that enjoys having more control of the details of your wedding, from choosing rentals, to decorating, Fireseed is the perfect blank canvas. It is beautiful on it's own and you can adorn it with your own style which was important to us. We didn't want to be restricted into a generic hotel wedding, but we wanted to create our own event that was "truly us". Plus Dave and Dawn can cook anything!! We wanted a unique menu, and they made a home-made buttermilk fried chicken and sweet potato mash that my guests are still talking about nearly a month later. And their pies.... we ate their pie for breakfast the next morning we couldn't get enough. Dave and Dawn at Fireseed connected us with Marty's Place, the most INCREDIBLE rental house ever created for a wedding weekend, and the florist from heaven Tracy Huffman with Farmhouse Flowers in Langley who we ADORED. The day of staff were so kind and welcoming to the guests. The day progressed flawlessly, you wouldn't even see the staff transition the chairs etc. from ceremony to reception. Very elegant yet comfortable in every way. By far the best decision for the wedding I made besides choosing my husband was choosing Fireseed as my venue. read more

Dave & Dawn are fantastic! After looking for a wedding venue and driving all over Washington from Snohomish, Camano Island, Seattle, and beyond, we found the perfect venue in Langley. When turning down the drive to the facilities we felt a calm and knew it was the perfect venue for us. The food was amazing! Everyone at our wedding was impressed by the food, the atmosphere, location, and how smoothly everything was run. They even grow many of the fresh vegetables used. The grounds are beautiful, flowers, green, and such manicured lawns. We were blessed to have a beautiful, sunny, warm day in March! We moved our ceremony from inside the Fireseed hall to the lawn outside. Before the ceremony our guests were watching Eagles fly overhead. The daffodils are in bloom and created the perfect backdrop. Dave was awesome in coordinating all of the rentals, providing a full wait and bar staff. We felt like we had our wedding at a 5 star restaurant with the quality of the service. We were waited on all night by attentive staff and they provided everything to our expectations. I would highly recommend Dave & Dawn at the Fireseed to anyone who is looking for a wedding venue in the greater Seattle area. Every guest at our wedding commented on the amazing food, beautiful location, and how easy it was to get there. Do yourself a favor and checkout the Fireseed before booking any other venue! read more

Should You Get Married Here?: Hell Yes. VENUE: Many guests have told us that it was one of, if not the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. The venue at Fireseed is unparalleled. As a nature/PNW loving, adventurous couple we knew we had to have our wedding here and toured it during the winter of 2015. It was still beautiful even then. What a shock it was to see all the gardens and flowers in full bloom on the wedding day! It was so beautiful. It was like a dream. I couldn't believe it. There is so much to do at Fireseed. The grounds are expansive - they have wooded areas, outdoor games, gardens, a large field, and a boardwalk that sits on a pond. We loved giving guests the freedom to roam and explore, as we wanted them to make their day their own as well. I can't say enough how beautiful the venue is in the summer. The flowers were so spectacular. We decided not to have an arch because the backdrop was too beautiful to cover up. The reception hall is spacious and beautiful. It has a classic, rustic charm with tasteful materials and decor. Perfect. SERVICE: Everyone got their food promptly during the reception, and during cocktail hour the drinks and food kept coming. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Again, Dawn and David are awesome. Dawn helped coordinate on the day of the wedding to kept things running smoothly. Huge weight off my shoulders. FOOD: Some guests have said it was the most delicious food they have ever had at a wedding. Personally, this is definitely true for myself and my family. It was so good. Everything from the cocktail drinks, to the main course, to dessert. I honestly wish I had eaten more. COMMUNICATION: We just had our wedding here last weekend and it was incredible. Dawn and Dave are just amazing. From the beginning Dave has answered every single question we've had and has never made us feel that anything we asked was unimportant. They made us feel like we were their only clients even if they probably were juggling a boatload of other e-mails. They have been extremely thorough and thoughtful in their communicate to us which was a big stress relief. In CLOSING: Fireseed is an incredible venue with so much to offer and within very reasonable price. The service is impeccable and the inclusiveness of the venue/food/dessert/rentals/day of coordinating helps SO much with planning. I've heard many vendors now say that Fireseed is their favorite place to go. I am so thankful and feel so lucky we were able to get married here. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding day. Everything ran so smoothly and felt like a fairy tale. Thank you Dawn and David. read more

My husband and I were married at Fireseed in late September, and we couldn't be happier with our decision! We chose Fireseed because it is incredibly beautiful and has a casual, intimate feel. Leading up to the wedding, Dave was so easy to work with and he always responded quickly to my emails. He worked with us to make sure that we felt comfortable with all the event details and to make sure that everything was exactly as we wanted. The weekend of the wedding was surprisingly stress free--and being able to set up on Friday and tear down on Sunday was a huge factor in that. We never felt rushed, and we had plenty of time to set everything up according to my vision. The space is so naturally beautiful that we could have had no decorations and been perfectly fine. Dave and Dawn made sure that the day of the wedding flowed smoothly and naturally. Everything went off without a hitch, and we got nothing but rave reviews on the location! The venue set up allows for a gorgeous outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour at the rustic outdoor bar, dinner and dancing in the barn, and plenty of trails and benches for guests to sit and wander. The rustic grounds are filled with trees and colorful flowers which were the perfect backdrop for our wedding photos. Oh, and the food was AMAZING! The dinner was delicious, and the pies and Whidbey ice cream were to die for. Suggestion: Don't forget to test the mic. It kept cutting in and out during our ceremony. We have nothing but great things to say about Fireseed. Recommend it without any hesitations! read more

Where do I begin?! The grounds are AMAZING, the food was absolutely perfect and Dave & Dawn were the epitome of masterful hosts while being phenomenal culinary professionals. As soon as we set foot on the property we knew it was the place we wanted to have our wedding. Everything was so well kept, well laid out and incredibly inviting. They even have a perfectly placed little playground (with a zip-line) for the kiddos! Dave is one of the most laid back people you'll meet and does a wonderful job helping keep you on track throughout your planning process - he takes care of soooo much of the work for you - so you can enjoy some of the more fun parts of wedding planning. I seriously don't know how I would have pulled this all off if it weren't for him. Being able to have the venue for 3 days was so great and really helped keep the level of stress at a minimum. Not having to arrange the rentals = wonderful! Not having to set up, break down or clean up was a godsend. Having the option of holding the ceremony inside their beautiful barn was a fantastic plan B in case it rained. Dawn is absolutely incredible. She is basically the wedding weekend Choreographer - this wonderful human being knows exactly how a wedding ceremony goes down and she is on top of it all. Our 3 year old son was part of our wedding, was completely out of his element, operating on half a nap and in desperate need of food - Dawn fixed that in no time ordering cheese, bread, apples and water for our little guy without us even having to ask her - she has a keen eye for making things run smoothly. When we were doing our rehearsal I'd mentioned in an offhanded comment to one of my Bridesmaids how nice it would be to have a drink waiting for us after walking down the aisle, well Dawn heard that and said, "We can do that. Just say the word!" I said that would be great and sure enough we had our post ceremony spirits waiting for us and it was wonderful! She also made sure I had anything I needed at all times even making sure my dress was bustled - I felt quite special all day! Oh and while were saying our vows an Osprey and an Eagle decided they need to call each other out while flying overhead all the while Hummingbirds were zipping around the gardens delighting all of our guests. It was really magical as cheesy as that sounds - it's true. Our guests raved about how wonderful everything was and how it's one of, if not thee, best wedding they'd ever been to! We had a blast! I could go on and on and on but I think I got the cliff notes for all of the awesomeness of this venue and the amazing Dave and Dawn Noble. read more

My wife and I were married at Fireseed in August 2014 and it was incredible. I could not possibly give Dave and Dawn a more enthusiastic review. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, both the outdoor garden spaces and the indoor reception hall. The food that Dave prepared was delicious, and Dawn baked us phenomenal pies using local berries. Dave was so patient and helpful as he worked with us to plan the whole event, and offered tons of useful advice but was also listened to our own ideas, and helped us have the perfect wedding *for us*. The Fireseed team has an amazing attention to detail -- I'll never forget how there was a brief but intense thundershower 5 minutes before our ceremony was going to start, but the whole Fireseed staff suddenly fanned out with umbrellas to shelter the guests, then wiped down all the seats dry to make sure everyone was comfortable. It was a small (but big) gesture that made a big difference. In any case, I could go on and on, but basically Dave and Dawn are wonderful people, and they've built Fireseed into an absolutely gorgeous space which they fill with delicious food and relaxed, happy, attentive vibes. If you have the chance, definitely get married there :) read more

We had the best experience working with Fireseed. It is such a hidden gem! I feel like if all Seattleites knew this place existed, it would be booked for years out. We had to postpone our wedding due to COVID by one year. Fireseed was so accommodating and was able to get us rescheduled right away with no added expense. Dave was so great at checking-in and handling all the small details related to planning, that it made it easier for us to coordinate and work through the process. We were in a situation of "we don't know what we don't know", but Dave helped us figure it all out. Dawn handled all of the day-of coordination and was so professional and organized. Working with both of them was like having a built-in wedding planner without the added expense. They took care of set-up, take-down, rentals, etc. Since they only host one wedding per weekend, we were their sole focus and it gave us a lot of breathing room (we could bring stuff the day before and pick stuff up the day after). We didn't even have to think of all of it and it helped the whole weekend feel less stressful. The food was amazing and anytime I mention the wedding to any of our guests, all they say is "that cake was amazing! can we get more?" The property itself was so so beautiful. We got so many amazing pictures, people on social media have been flabbergasted by how nice the property is and the pictures. There are lots of opportunities here. Finally, the price was so incredibly reasonable. While it is customized for the type of food you want, we felt really satisfied with the pricing. Would 100% recommend for everyone! This is an exceptional venue with an exceptional team to help you have the most perfect wedding day!! We could not be any happier with our choice to have our wedding at Fireseed! The grounds are absolutely stunning, and I will never forget how I felt as I was about to walk down the aisle and looked around. My eyes teared up as I took in how beautiful and absolutely perfect it was! Both our out-of-town and Seattle guests were blown away by by the gorgeous, quintessential PNW setting. The property offers so much variety for stunning photo opportunities, and there are also lots of options for how you set up your ceremony and cocktail hour. They also have an attractive indoor option, and they are extremely flexible on making a last minutes call for moving indoors if the weather is feeling unpredictable. And in the event that you stay outside and the rain comes, the massive umbrella collection they have is comforting. We got extremely lucky with the weather, but it was nice knowing that we had those back up options. Dawn and Dave are really amazing to work with. We met Dave when we first toured the property, and we loved how he came across as just a normal down-to-earth guy vs some of the other overly enthusiastic, salesy wedding event people we had encountered. He was our point person throughout the planning and was always responsive, straightforward, and helpful. We used Dawn and Dave's "Resource" page on their website for selecting vendors, and are very happy with our choices. They were also helpful in helping us organize the weekend for our guests-- from securing a bar that would stay open for us in Langley Friday night to providing a catered brunch for Sunday. Dawn helped organize us at the rehearsal and made the wedding day go extremely smoothly. I was particularly interested in starting the ceremony on time, and she made sure that happened. :-) She was also particularly awesome in helping deal with a small snafu from the florist and easing my stress along the way. We are particularly passionate about good food, which was one of the additional selling points for going with Fireseed. They did not disappoint! Everything was fantastic, and our guests are still talking about it...especially the fried chicken! We decided to go with a family style meal where we brought in elements from both the east and west coast given my southern east coast and my husband's west coast heritages. Dave and Dawn helped us pick some things that made sense-- east vs west coast cheese, blue vs dungeness crab hors d'oeurves, and fried chicken vs salmon. The late night snack of homemade tortilla chips, guacamole, and salsa was also a big hit! The quality of the food is so much better than any other wedding venue I've ever experienced, and the prices are quite reasonable. Attaching some photos from our late April wedding. A BIG thank you again to Dave and Dawn for enabling such a perfect day!!!! read more

Fireseed was absolutely the right choice for our wedding, and Dave and Dawn were so helpful in preparing everything. We loved the natural beauty of the area, all the guests loved the venue, and the food was outstanding. It was wonderful to have Dave's help in reserving all of the rental items and taking care of coordinating such a big part of the work. Everything went perfectly on the day of the wedding, thanks to the smooth operation of their team. We loved our experience, and cannot recommend Fireseed enough to others. read more

Fireseed is truly a magical place. My husband and I recently shared our wedding there and it was as special of a day as everyone hypes it up to be. Firstly being on south Whidbey with all your loved ones is a charming and peaceful experience. But then being able to share this little slice of heaven, that is Fireseed, was a true highlight of the weekend. When we dreamt up a wedding location we wanted a vibrant garden, trees, water, indoor/outdoor, amazing food, and a laid back vibe and you get all of that with Fireseed. I almost struggle to write this review because I want to keep this sacred place in our hearts, but I also want to give the owners Dave and Dawn and their incredible team of people all the props. They are passionate, on point, detailed, fun-loving people who genuinely want to delight their guests and give them a special memory. They did just that. I was in tears the next day when I went to say goodbye to Dave and thank him. You can just feel the love that's put into the food they serve and the property they share. It was nothing short of an honor to get married there. Thank you Fireseed team! I hope to come back to visit one day. Also shout out to Anna who is a part of the day of coordinating, she was a calming and joyful presence. We really felt taken care of by her. Killing it Anna! read more

What a beautiful setting for a wedding! When you want the feel and taste of the Pacific Northwest look no further! Dave and Dawn are amazing and so accommodating and their venue is incredible. Our wedding was June 4th and the day was perfect. The food was the best ever, farm to table and the best thing is you get the venue for the weekend- yes, Friday through Sunday. Amazing photo opportunities galore with beautifully done bridal suite and groom's room. You must get married here!! read more

I literally can't say enough about Fireseed Catering (and the owners Dave and Dawn). To summarize... today I spoke with my mother... and she said it was the best wedding she had ever been to. My husband and I chose Fireseed Catering because we had gotten a recommendation from my friend (whose sister got married there, and had a fantastic experience), and whoa, am I glad she mentioned it to us! From the very start, even when touring the venue, Dave was there to answer all of our questions, and describe how they make each and every wedding personalized to the bride and groom - depending on how they want. After that visit - we knew it was an easy choice! We booked it - and with one contract - the beautiful venue, the food, the desserts, the staff, the rentals, AND the day-of coordination were all taken care of. I can't stress enough how much stress having all of this in one place saved us. Then, in the year leading up to planning the details, Dawn and Dave would respond quickly (within 24 hours) to any question I had. They also kindly reminded me of details I should book, provided vendor recommendations when needing it. Finally, in the weeks leading up to the wedding, they continued to answer any question I had, connected with my vendors, and ensured everything was set up to go smoothly. The weekend was incredibly magical. They were there during setup on Friday to help with any question... they then ran the entire show on Saturday... and our guests kept raving about the food, the decor, and most of all - how ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL the venue was. One guest clarified that it "felt like a casual outdoor garden party with all of the people we loved." Sunday cleanup was a breeze after the Fireseed staff had cleaned up everything on Saturday night. Again, I cannot stress how stress-free and stunning, beautiful Fireseed Catering was. I'd recommend it again and again. read more

As the groom I did not expect to write a review. Dave and Dawn at Fireseed are amazing. When planning a wedding things can get stressful, Dave is calm, collected, super responsive and very helpful with any questions you might have. Dawn helped during the rehearsal and day of the wedding, she helped us look polished and stay organized without being overbearing. The FOOD is amazing, as a big food family we loved their cuisine. The venue is gorgeous. As a business owner myself I can't say enough about this venue and the couple that run it. read more

This place was fantastic for my friends wedding! They had the best wedding food we have eaten so far. The property is wonderful. The owners did an excellent job of making the experience easy for the bride and groom. The venue has unparalleled value. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a beautiful barn style wedding. read more

A friend in the wedding industry highly recommended Fireseed to us, so combined with the reviews we read online, my husband and I couldn't wait to see it in person. We remember one online review in particular which basically said, "book Fireseed now and don't think twice!". So, we took the ferry over to Whidbey Island and made a reservation as soon as we could! Fireseed is a gorgeous venue surrounded by Evergreen trees with a lawn overlooking a lake and breathtaking gardens. The care they put into their gardens is evident during all seasons. This setting made for some beautiful fall photos. They offer a renovated (and heated) barn to host your reception or ceremony depending on the weather. The barn includes a separate bridal suite and groomsmen area as well as a large bar with lounge. There is another outdoor bar and plenty of seating areas outside, including an area for lawn games. But the owners, Dave and Dawn, offer so much more than a venue! We were initially a little hesitant to pick a venue that required us to use their food, but the food at Fireseed was absolutely delicious and we ended up paying quite a bit less than we would have for a separate venue and catering. Another benefit we found was that we could bring in our own alcohol. Dave and Dawn are a husband and wife team and are both wonderful to work with. Dave, helped us decide on a Pacific Northwest menu with some German flair (spaetzle) mixed in for our German guests. Well before the wedding, we were invited to meet with him to taste appetizers and finalize the menu, which was a fun experience. A lot of the ingredients from their menu came from their own vegetable garden, which is right on their property. Dave was extremely helpful throughout the whole planning process. He emailed back and forth with us to decide the schedule of events, offered input on our decoration ideas and questions, and reserved the rentals for us. We were so impressed with not only how helpful he was, but how quick he was to respond to our emails. The day of, their staff set up all of our tables and chairs. And Dawn, along with baking our delicious wedding cake, acted as a day-of coordinator making sure everything ran smoothly. Our pastor even remarked that he had never been to a wedding where the ceremony started on time. Dawn made sure that the ceremony started right when she said it would. We had a little bit of wind and drizzle the morning of the wedding and at one point thought we'd need to resort to an indoor ceremony. Preferring an outdoor experience, Dawn and Dave were dedicated to making that happen for us if they could. They asked their staff to wait until right before the ceremony to set up the chairs, wiping them down for guests before the ceremony began and provided all the guests umbrellas. Fortunately, the drizzle stopped right as the ceremony began and we were able to get our photos outside as we said our vows. During the cocktail hour and dinner, their staff was so helpful. We didn't have to worry about a thing and were able to relax and take in the entire afternoon and evening. We are so pleased we chose this unique and gorgeous venue! read more

Fireseed Catering was everything we could have asked for and more! From our first tour of the property with Dawn we were impressed by incredible attention to detail, in the property and day-of preparation. On the grey February day of our venue tour, Dawn described the different types of flowers blooming at each time of year, and told us exactly how she envisioned details, down to our entrance into the reception. The gardens were in full bloom for our wedding in August and our guests enjoyed touring the flower beds and on-site vegetable garden. The barn where the reception was held is the perfect blank slate for any decorations - the word "barn" really doesn't do the building justice. Coordination of food and vendors with Dave was a great experience. Our only complaint with the food is that there were too many amazing sounding options and it was hard to choose what to have on our wedding day! Dave gave us a list of ideas and then flexed with us to fit exactly what we were looking for. We were looking for a "tropical northwest" menu and Dave delivered. Our guests enjoyed soy glazed short ribs and salmon with beurre blanc, buttery potatoes and a perfectly cooked side vegetables. My husband requested fried chicken sliders as an appetizer and they were delicious. Our dessert was house-made ice cream sandwiches with homemade cookies. There was more than enough food on the family-style platters and refills just kept coming. Many people had told me that I would forget to eat on my wedding day, but I ended up eating some of everything and going back for seconds! My recommendation for anyone who books Fireseed is to use the Resource page on the Fireseed website. We did a lot of vendor research and each time we found a vendor we loved we saw that it was already listed on the Fireseed website. Dave and Dawn know good vendors when they see them and work very well with anyone onsite. I could go on and on about what a smooth, stress free experience we had working with Dave and Dawn. Our guests raved about the venue, the food, and how relaxed they felt as soon as they stepped onto the property - Fireseed really captures the laid back energy of Whidbey Island, but without a single detail missed. read more

This review is long overdue! We had our amazing wedding there last May. The venue, staff and hosts Dave and Dawn were fantastic. We literally had zero to worry about when it came to planning the big day with them. From the first time you make contact with Dave you are given plenty of room for creativity for your wedding. Dave is in contact with you as often as you need and Dawn heads all the day of timeline and does a great job of co collaborating with your wedding planner. The venue is just out of this world gorgeous. If you want to work with an easy going and super friendly husband/wife team, have a beautiful outdoor and secluded wedding on Whidbey Island, this is your spot!!! Not to mention, Dawn and Dave whip up all the yummy food and desserts per your request, (no set menu...so just about anything goes!). Trust me, you are in good hands with Fireseed Catering! read more
