I happily joined to live vicariously through her life successes. And damn! I was blown away by how many beautiful fixtures there are! There was so much that was beyond my imagination. There were modern, vintage, mid-century, and luxury lights. Our style is mid-century modern, and we picked out a few that fit that aesthetic. Though, I would say there were just a few lights in the style. They were also somewhat limited on lighted overhead fan choices. But the best part was the customer service. We were able to build a "wish list" with an associate, where every item that piqued our interested was populated under her new account. There, you can review all of the details and customizations (like color, type of lighting, finish etc). There also seemed to be a lot on sale which was a treat!

I have been working with Carly from Studio M who is coordinating the design side of the project. To address the previous reviewers complaint about Mingle not taking small jobs, there is something this reviewer is leaving out. Studio M will not contribute design help until you sign a contract for their time as they are a separate but complimentary entity that provides extra design services for Mingle clients. It would be absurd to expect a design firm to provide free services without a contract. Also, it would be absurd to expect a company to place an order with their supplier without a deposit. So, it is possible the communication from the previous reviewer was a bit poor. But, back to my review. First of all, our project was well under 50K. I would estimate it around 20-25K. And I have to admit that Mingle's opulent showroom initially intimidated me so much, I went through the doors with a great deal of skepticism. However, I am happy to have been proven very wrong about the perception that they would only work with big jobs. I was very upfront with them about the size of our new home and they remained unflinchingly helpful. Love love love working with Carly and Mike. We came to Mingle in a panic after realizing the cabinet supplier the builder was using just wasn't providing the service we needed. After losing weeks with the previous supplier, we were up against a wall, and Mike worked quickly with my husband to put together drawings and a quote. Then, Carly and I tweeked the layout and wood selection. It was an extremely quick process that went smoothly because of Mike and Carly's the high levels of experience, expertise and professionalism. Because Carly is an independent designer, I am able to bring items, swatches, and ideas from outside of Mingle, while utilizing the amazing selection Mingle offers. The process Studio M offers is really very fluid and flexible and helped me immensely in getting design decisions made and move our project along quickly. I am not a designer and I have never liked the selection process, but working with Carly has been extremely enjoyable because of her ability to assess and offer up reasonable options that fit my needs. Our meetings have been at Mingle, on-site and at a tile shop so far, but I look forward to using Carly's services throughout this design selection process and so appreciate her ability to help set priorities in the design and building process.

Go elsewhere and don't waste your time with them. Here is our experience: We dropped in on a weekend to discuss a remodeling project for our Maple Grove home. We were hoping for guidance on how their services work and to get started on our own remodel project, but we were told that they cannot talk about our project until we sign a contract and agree to work with them. At this point in our project we were still trying to determine if the remodel we wanted was physically possible (i.e., could we knock out certain walls and move laundry machines, etc.). They said we can bring in pictures and they can look at it - but I was more comfortable having a contractor actually see the space in person to make that determination. Again, I was told that I would need to sign a contract before any of that could happen. I asked if we could at least speak with a contractor first to determine if it was feasible; I wasn't about to commit to a project and provide a retainer fee when we didn't know if it would even be possible. They reluctantly agreed to send me a few names of contractors so I could reach out to them. I gave my phone number & email to the Mingle representative, but we never heard back from her. I later followed up with an email to her and she never responded. A royal brush off and great way to do business, Mingle. Not impressed in the least. We thought we'd give them another chance, however. Maybe we just got the wrong person and would have better luck next time. My husband called and got directed to the appropriate person - but had to leave a message. That message - left at least 2 weeks ago - remains unreturned and I have no confidence that they will ever call. Another fumble for team Mingle! They will, however, see me one more time - when I triumphantly return to Pretty Woman them with the receipts from my completed project. Maybe that will encourage them to pay more attention to customers in the future; I'm not sure how they can manage to run their business otherwise. Good luck to them.

They have a lot of items to sift through and look at, I was getting excited by all their vintage floor grates but didn't see one that was in my house (probably a good thing since their prices are high, but I get it kinda). They also have a ton of clawfoot tubs in varying states of quality for $400-500 that I could see. Always been a dream of mine so interesting that I could source one if I want to make it a reality! I didn't see any staff people around and the place was freezing (there's no controlled air).

I had a terrible experience with Farmhouse Style Furniture millworker shop…read more The owner required my full up front payment of a high end purchase that they said they could do, then sent me a scant invoice with virtually no details of my order on it and said it would be ready in "about a month". It didn't give me great confidence, but I'd read good reviews of them so I went ahead with it. After about a month I emailed several times to get a status update and wasn't getting a response, so I called and left a message. Then I got an email reply a couple days later, saying they were sorry, that they have the wood and will send photos next week for my approval. Discovering it hadn't started assembly and was already overdue by a couple weeks was a real downer, and now emailing me photos of wood sitting in their shop would take a week? I waited more than a week and emailed again asking for an update. Silence. So I drove back to their shop and an employee showed me the wood he said was for my order. I sent a follow-up email after my visit pleading for them to begin assembly on it as soon as possible. Forget sending the photos to me (I was worried they didn't know how to send an email with photos by that point, and it would only slow them down another two weeks). No response. Several days later I called, at my wits end about the 'email black hole' that seemed to tragically envelop their shop and their inability or unwillingness to update me. I left a voicemail. A couple days later I received an email reply to my phone call saying that not all of my wood was there and it would take too long to get the rest so he was canceling the order. Unreal. This was the worst experience I've received communicating with a business in a long time. A lack of updates and follow through left me in a bind, and I now must start all over again after 8 weeks waiting like a fool on a piece of news I should've got after 48 hours.

Imagine the joys of having to explain to anybody who caught glimpse of my bare mattress that, "I swear it wasn't me! It was a cat I used to have!" Fun times. Needless to say, it was time. We moved out west recently and drive by North Star Mattress every single day. The window claims low prices and Minnesota made. Our kind of place. So we packed up the nuggets and went in to check them out. Their show room is small and cozy, but effective. You're there for one thing and one thing only: to find something comfortable to spend approximately 1/3 of your life laying on. We found their selection to be PERFECT (they have everything from standard mattresses to memory foam and those self-cooling iMattresses) and their prices even better. We had previously shopped at Macy's - avoid this tactic. $8k for a king mattress at Macy's, no thanks. North Star has several models with several firmness options. It was incredibly easy to find a mattress we both liked and, furthermore, we got our son his first true (full size) Big Boy Bed, too. We couldn't pass up the deal. We paid less than $1300 (including tax) for a king mattress and a full mattress/box spring set... and a couple of nice mattress covers. And here's the real thing: I HAVEN'T SLEPT THIS GOOD MY ENTIRE LIFE. They deliver quickly and efficiently and hauled away our pee-stained old king mattress and box spring for, I believe, $30. I reassured the guys that it was "10 year old cat urine, I swear it's not me, I swear I have bladder control, I'm too old to wet the bed but not THAT old to wet the bed. Please believe me. Guys. Please. Plz guise. PLZZZ." They believed me. They are pretty conveniently located on the south side of Hwy 55 JUST west of Plymouth. Can't miss the place. The owner was in the shop and both he and the other guy working were incredibly friendly and very knowledgable. This is the way businesses should be run. I promise you that I will buy mattresses only from this place as long as they are around and I'd strongly encourage you to do the same!

There's a sucker born every day and I fell for the pitch. There is no such warranty....they "sold" the factory 2 years later in 2011 apparently, or so I'm told. Don't get sucked into the hard sell. My mattress is now junk. The New factory should honor the warranties clearly built into the price of the mattresses. All of these glowing reviews were me in 2009. Buyer beware!!
