Review 100 woohoo! I've really been on a chalk paint/vintage/rustic shop visiting spree lately and…read morethe Mama's Happy in Independence is one of my favorites! Always so charming and cute with well styled displays of chalk paint furniture and upcycled decor. The prices are very reasonable for a boutiquey kind of shop and I love that it supports this amazing group of hard working mamas who enjoy crafting. I've purchased a distressed craft table, a vintage bookshelf and a re-upholstered chair here. The ladies that run the place are always so nice and truly happy. Annie Sloan chalk paint, waxes, and brushes for sale as well. This is an occasional shop so it's only open about once a month (look on Their website for dates). Their other shops in St Paul, St. Louis Park, and Stillwater are open 7 days a week. Every time I come here there are constantly changing and exciting treasures to look at and find. Many times they offer complimentary wine or refreshing beverage to sip on while you peruse the store- how fun! On my most recent visit they had an open house of the "Makers Cottage" next door- a beautifully custom designed home with several rooms and an inviting deck available to rent for events or overnights or what have you. They also host an annual vintage market at the end of the summer in the backyard/field with many other vendors. Very limited parking in the driveway of the building mostly for loading items into your car. Just plan to park on the street unless you come close to closing time. I absolutely love the creativity and beautiful shop, it's a special place and worth the drive!

This is by far the best occasional shop I have been to. They have a large selection of unique finds…read moreand the prices are very reasonable. Many of the items have been "upcycled" and bring a fresh look to used or antique finds. The prices are very reasonable. I have been to many similar shops and traveled far for them, but this one is worth the drive everytime! I was delighted to find out that they opened a store on Grand Ave in Saint Paul. The size of that store is much smaller, but great for quick stop-ins. They also offer furniture painting classes at both locations.

The empty nest offers a variety of goodies from estates and auctions…read more It offers rare finds and antiques that become stand out pieces inside your home. Be prepared to be wooed when you visit. It is relaxing walking around looking at the items until you find your favorite piece.

I wish I could give a 3.5 rating, since overall it was a good experience…read more So here's the deal. - lack of large signage on the exterior, makes it easy to miss being it blends in with the other businesses along the strip. -upon entering you may be given a strip of SOLD stickers. If not, you can find them by the registers. They're for tagging larger items you want to buy. You put the sticker on, and take it's product/price tag to the cashier for check-out. -the store is packed with items and people, which makes moving around not so easy. I don't think it's ideal for walkers, wheelchairs, or strollers. If you have mobility challenges, navigating may be tough. -some items don't have a price tag, like the pillow I bought. I asked the cashier how the price is determined, and was advised they assign what they think is a fair price at check-out. My pillow was valued at $4. -i got there at 10:07am, 7 mins after they opened and there were people everywhere. That said, if you're a serious shopper arrive early to see the goods before the super-early birds snatch it all up. -again, it's filled with stuff; mainly furniture, home decor, dinnerware, kitchen goods, some shoes, books, and I even saw cute scarves and bags. It didn't seem like a destination for clothes. Now that I'v summed that up, I do believe it's a nice option for thrifting and would definitely recommend it.

I live in California and have a rental property in St. Michael , MN. that required a new water softener. Helen helped me get Home Depot Credit Card, place an order for my requirement and arranged for an installer. This is a 5-star service done all on the phone. Thank you Helen for all that you did for me. Imtiaz Khan Oceanside CA

I had home Depot in Maple Grove replace my kitchen with new cabinets. The kitchen was cleaned and…read moretotally ready for their install. They assured me they could handle everything except for the hood installation which I had done by another professional that had to come back multiple times because of Home Depot's errors. I have been involved in dozens of kitchen remodels and I can tell you Home Depot and they're vendors failed multiple times on everything single thing they coordinated and were responsible for. Here's a small list of what went wrong: cabinet finish and size specifications, hardware workability and specifications, multiple site measurements, cabinet install, countertop install, plumbing install (flooding the room below because they didn't turn off the water line), trying to fix said flooding, backsplash install, caulking, electrical outlet moving multiple times, cabinet orders, multiple wrong material deliveries, multiple material retrieval and pickup without freight lists, door and drawer alignment, broken appliances, misalignment of cabinets, counters, and drawer pulls, ordering delays, cabinet parts still in my garage, multiple sets of cabinets filling up my house for months without picking up the extras, and weeks and months to return calls. It's now been over a year and it is not only still not corrected, they are not responding to my inquiries. I had to pay to eat out every meal for months because of their delays. Oh and by the way, the credit card with their name and logo on it, they claim no responsibility or control. Their incompetence cost me significantly and now they just won't even respond. I would never buy another install of anything from Home Depot, ever. This was the easiest of projects and they couldn't even handle that. Just say no to Home Depot.
