This will be my first review and will update it if anything changes. I saw this company of Yelp and then their ad in a magazine sent for new home owners. We watched the videos and thought the fireplace doors were beautiful. I submitted a request for quote. And then got sidetracked with other homeowner things. I finally got to call again and left a voicemail that I was interested in the fireplace insert special that was in the magazine. I received a text and responded. Asked if they could do the sweep and put in the log set. I asked if it included painting the firebox and the prep to put in the insert. Answer was yes. They were able to schedule me a few days out. I received phone call and text to do that. I was excited! The day of I got a call that they would not be able to do the logs but could do the sweep and the technician would talk with us and schedule a new date. COVID messed with shipments. Which I understand...to some degree. (I thought these would be on hand if the appointment was made.) After that call I received another that an appointment canceled and they could come earlier. I said ok. The technician came and did the sweep. He was in and out in about 30 minutes with his shop vac. He didn't even get on the roof to check the chimney. He told my husband that he (my husband) would need to seal the tiny crack in the brick and paint the firebox. They talked about the doors and got an estimate (which was part of why we called to start the relationship). They were given information to pay for the sweep service. Here's the deal. I wanted to get the logs and a sweep together and info on the doors. I don't know that I got a true sweep and it sounds like if I want the logs set up we have to prep and do the base set up...and wait for the logs to come in. We can't do the beautiful doors right now...that's on the horizon. Glad we have a quote to know what we need to plan for the job. At the end of the day--I'm disappointed that I don't even know where we are with getting the logs and if that's even on their books to do. And if we do and it's next year, will they honor the price? Guess this isn't something that they really make the money on---but it's what is advertised in the magazine--and what I was hoping to get a relationship started for more info on the doors. Please stop! Do not use this company. I was so excited about my screen door until I built a fire and tried to close the screen. When the air vent is opened, it will not close. After much effort to contact them so they could address the problem, I got a date for it to be repaired. The day comes, they cancelled. They took my payment and did not provide a quality product. Repairing the problem seems to be of no concern and of no urgency for them. read more

BEWARE Fireplace Door Guy!!! Their company's customer service is the WORST and after numerous calls, emails, and text messages got no response back on any of issues with the poor quality work. There advertisement of professional and quality work is an lie. Jake Vice after a $6,000 remodel job while we were away left us many gaps in the stone work and many places where the grout was not cleaned off the expensive stone which looks terrible. But the worst was they used our kitchen sink to pour down used sand and grout that ruined out garbage disposal, clogged up our drain pipes and flowed into and ruined our dishwasher. They left our home a absolutely mess with stone dust over our furniture and sofa. read more

I hired them to inspect our direct vent fireplace which is in need of repair. I verified before that this was within their scope of business and that they could do the repairs once it was determined what was needed. Jake came out and basically just "looked" at our unit and told us what we already knew. He offered to talk to his company and do some research on his own to try to figure out what we needed and how we could fix it. I paid $199 for him to come out and do a very limited "inspection" and now he, nor the main number will respond to my texts or calls. I would be weary hiring this company for an inspection. I feel like I was over promised and under-delivered and now am out $199--and have zero follow up from them. read more
