I had Jason Brendlinger come over to do an estimate. I had problems with my older gas fireplaces and was interested in buying an additional wood stove. His visit I had hoped to simply figure out where it made the most sense to place it. Before we even got to the stove I wanted to buy and have him install he helped me understand what was wrong with my gas fireplaces that weren't putting out heat. He then thoroughly went into details about the options for where to install the stove I wanted to buy. Instead of encouraging me to install it where my older gas fireplace was he explained how that location would be much more expensive and not as efficient. The key here is he wasn't simply trying to sell me something or rush through an estimate. He paid attention to my needs. I had been to three different Fireplace showrooms over the years to speak with their experts about the issues with my current fireplace. Every single time they pushed me to go a route that would have ultimately cost twice as much (or more!). They simply wanted to sell me a unit and not help me understand what made the most sense for my situation. That is why I never bothered to actually buy anything until now. read more

My husband and I moved into a house with a damaged fireplace/chimney stack. We didn't know this until we had someone out to inspect and clean the chimney. We decided we would replace the entire fireplace for safety reasons. We stopped by ROCKY MOUNTAIN STOVE & FIREPLACE, where Matt was kind enough to show us several options. We found the modern wood stove we were looking for, and Matt then referred us to FIREPLACE & GRILL EXPERTS. We were able to schedule an appointment, at our house with Jason, to get accurate measurements and a quote on the removal of the old fireplace, and the install of a new wood burning stove. Nick, Lito, Jim and Mike had the horrible task of taking out the old fireplace, and preparing/installing materials for the new fireplace. They were very skilled and were able to accomplish this within a couple days, making sure to care for our carpets and furniture. Caesar and Steve then arrived to install the drywall, mantle, hearth and all the stones. It was obvious they were very experienced, and with Jason's accurate measurements, we had the right amount of stones, which we purchased from FOOTHILLS STONE SUPPLY (Brendon). The prices for the stove and install seemed fair, and as of today, we have a beautiful new stone fireplace. All of the personnel were very friendly and accommodating. They worked extremely hard, and their cleanup was so good that you wouldn't know any work took place. We couldn't be more pleased with the AWESOME outcome! Kudos to all of the companies and their staffs for making this a super, successful project! read more

We had a gas fireplace installed a few years ago bought from Rocky Mountain Stove on Simms, and after replacing the batteries in the remote and receiver, it would not light. A call to Rocky said, call the installer - Fireplace and Grill - to get a service call. Great dispatcher lady there told me they're booked into early December but she'd check for any cancellations, so nice. She found one for us for the next day! But it was the big new snow day, I got a call from they saying, could they come the next day - sure. And then about 2 hours before that appointment, Fireplace calls to say their tech is running early, could he come sooner, sure. Mike arrived and what a great guy. Covid mask, tools, a vacuum, took off his shoes entering the house and saw the problem (user error - me) but did a thorough cleaning, apparently it's good to service the pilot light for built up crud, cleaned the whole inside of the unit and the glass. Works better than ever. Highly recommend. When these guys did the install they were super professional as well, installing the gas line, a lot of work and they were all real professionals. read more

Yesterday Don the technician for Fireplace and Grill Experts came out to service and make sure our grill was in working order. We couldn't be HAPPIER! There was a 2 week time once we set the appointment. Our grill is a Webber Genesis. It needed servicing and when done looked NEW! No parts. $150. I will recommend them to everyone! 5 stars! I wish i would have seen the review before i hired these guys. I scheduled the appt with them to get a new gas fireplace insert. The owner JAson came out and was very nice and professional. HE advised me on 2 units to choose from and where to purchase the unit. He said he would send over all measurements so that the place we buy the stove fromwill have it all. I specifically asked him about the existing opening and he said the surround would cover it. The only optional added piece would be for the bottom because it was a 3 sided surround on the fireplace. Which would be additional$250. Long story short, when the install happend 3-4 weeks later the unit left a 2-3 inch gap on the existing opening! Thats the way the installers left it. No call, no follow up. WE were very unhappy. We had to pull the unit out ourselves and spend another $300 to raise the unit up with a custom hearth. Fireplace and grill non- experts blamed us some how for the error. How, i still cant understand. They had several excuses. Not one of which was, "Sorry we messed up" I hired them for their expertise, which we didnt get. They certainly wanted their full $540 installlation fee, even though they basically stuck it in, and left us with it to be completely re done. read more

We were referred to this company by the company who sold us our insert. Scheduling and getting information is quite a challenge given the person who answers the phone cannot answer any questions. She often has to get the owner and say they'll call us back. That didn't happen, I always had to call back - several times. The work performed was great and the two guys were quick and tidy. They did a good job opening up our old masonry fireplace to place the new fireplace insert. No problems to date and were very happy with the installation and our new lower heating bill. read more

This is review of 3 service calls over the past 2 years. 1. Our gas fireplace was "acting up". It did not always start correctly. The tech came in and fixed it. And, told us how to keep it working correctly so we would not have to call again. 2. Our Vermont Castings grill had some parts die. I might have have the cause of one of them as I left a cover on over lit burner. Might. Maybe. No confessions from me. The tech made 2 visits. One for diagnosis and cleaning. Excellent. Today (03MAR2011) he came and repaired our grill. It works perfectly. In all cases, they call and confirm the appointment and they show up at the appointed hour. read more

The gas line on our Sedona Lynx gas grill caught fire. Don came out and quickly diagnosed cause. He replaced the flex line and routed it to prevent a recurrence. I called to get my gas fireplace repaired. We just purchased the home but knew the existing fireplace was missing several important parts and was not safe. After scheduling the appointment with Nate I sent him several pictures to try and help the tech Frank see the issue before coming out. When Frank arrived he looked at the fireplace for 10 seconds before he told me that it was completely unsafe and needed to be replaced. When I asked him about installing the missing parts he told me there was no way there are parts available for the 20 year old unit and called the office who told him the same. I asked why he couldn't just see this from the pictures I sent and save us both the time. Frank told me he never saw the pictures I sent which I got confirmation from Nate for receiving them. At this point I told him I didn't think paying him the $100 service visit was fair. After hearing this he called the office again and this time they said they could probably track down the parts but of course, I needed to pay the $100 first before they could look. After a couple of days I talked with Nate again who told me that he couldn't find the parts and that I needed to replace the unit which would cost between 7k and 9k. Ultimately I ended up going with Fireplace Solutions and Service who did a great job. The owner Steve told me that he could find the parts and fix the unit within a couple of weeks after I sent him the same pictures and the model information he requested. read more

After Nate found and ordered the parts for my old Weber gas grill, I scheduled them to come out to fix both my grill and my old gas log fireplace, on the same service call. I didn't think my gas fireplace would work that well or look that good ever again, but it's like brand new! Will call them again whenever I need to service these two appliances. The guy who is responsible for scheduling is not helpful and doesn't care if a customer has a big problem - not his problem. This was the second time that the dealer referred me to Fireplace and Grill Experts. In both cases, they were a month or longer out. This time, the gas fireplace that heats half of our home wasn't working. I couldn't wait for them, so I contacted the manufacturer in Canada and the problem was easily solved in about 5 minutes. The Fireplace and Grill Experts service manager told me that he couldn't provide support to solve the problem. I don't understand why Colorado Hearth and Home uses them. Really disappointing and really, really rude. read more

Over the last three years, I have had three different fireplace repair companies "fix" my gas fireplace. Fireplace & Grill Experts were the only company that really FIXED the problem. If you have a gas fireplace problem, this is the ONLY company you want to use. My home has built-in gas fireplaces that are now over 15 years old. When I turned the fireplace switch on, the fire would light, but shortly afterward the fire would switch off, then on, then off, etc. The problem has gotten much worse this year. Fireplace & Grill Experts was the only company to really FIX the problem. The fireplace works beautifully now, and Fireplace & Grill Experts have earned my repeat business because they have significantly higher expertise than the other two companies. read more

We called Fireplace and Grill Experts as we thought we wanted to put a wood burning insert in our old fireplace. Jason came and looked the situation over, assessed my expectations and our living room and was very honest in recommending we don't put in an insert. Instead he showed us how to get better use from our existing fireplace by insulating in places we hadn't thought of. Jason is a "breath of fresh air" in this crazy world as he could easily have sold us what we thought we wanted but he was sure we wouldn't have liked the results. Called these people to come fix a gas fireplace that kept going out on us, Tech don comes and cleans it and watches the flame get smaller and smaller, and tells well there is nothing else he can do. So I called back to the office and talked to Nate, who say there are parts that can be replaced on this unit, Tech Don comes out again and watches the flame lose strength , so he replaced the coupling and the flame is so low now, and before he did that the flame was a decent height.
