Refrigerator was functional before service except for a bad display. Technician diagnosed a control board issue. I declined repair and asked for reassembly. After reassembly, the refrigerator no longer worked. Management refused to refund the diagnostic fee or remediate. Appliance ultimately had to be replaced. I was not happy with the service at all. The first time no one called to let us know what time they were coming out. Once the guy was here, he never told us what was wrong with the stove, just that he needed to order a part so I had to ask what was wrong with it. Once it was repaired, one of the eyes would not ignite and they were supposed to come back out but no one ever called or showed up. I called again and they came and were about to leave with the problem in question and as only half fixed. Very disappointing. read more

The single worst appliance repair experience of my families life. My brother in law hired them to diagnose the problem with his refrigerator. It wasn't staying cool. The tech showed up, brought in no tools, looked behind the fridge and declared the compressor was dead. A dead compressor on a five year old GE fridge? He went outside to call his boss, came back in and quoted 1500 to repair it. Of course, nobody fixes a 1500 part when they could just buy a new fridge for that. I suspect that's the scam. He took his 125 dollar trip charge and left. No tests. No diagnostic anything. He didn't even use the self check and look for "codes" from the front panel. As it turns out, the compressor coils were just jammed and very dirty. The compressor couldn't breathe not transfer heat. It's a very obvious issue that was right next to the compressor. The tech didn't even mention it. Took his money and ran. We vacuumed and cleans the coils and fridge works just fine and it back doing its job. The tech didn't even try. This was easiest fix there is for a fridge. Dirty coils. On the photo I attached, you can see the coils were completely fouled. The clean part is where I touched them. That's how dirty they were. They have a horrible history for this same scam with the BBB and currently have an F rating. Scam, scam, scam, scam. Stay away. read more

Bad Business Alert! @Action Appliance in Aurora, Colorado is a complete scam and horrible business. Please be aware. If anyone else has been scammed by them, please reach out for a small claims law suit. Several weeks ago my Refridgerator / Freezer started getting warmer. Action Appliance advertised same day repair. I didn't want to lose everything in my freezer and refrigerator because it was pretty packed so I asked for the same day service. I should have guessed there was already issues when they said they could come out the same day and then ended up calling back saying they would need to come out the next day. The next day they sent out a very nice technician named Isaac who spent hours and hours looking and trying to find the issues and finally determined that it was a control board and some water lines costing $1400 to repair. Although that seemed very expensive I had them get the parts and Isaac was out a few days later. He spent hours and hours on the refrigerator and kept saying things like he had never seen a refrigerator like this and that his app didn't match the refriderator. He also said that he was newer and had only been trained on old refrigerators and nothing like the new one that I had which was an LG. He basically took the entire thing apart over hours. After he left not only did the refrigerator not work correctly but we now had a big leak. This time we called Action Appliance and asked if they would please send a different technician because the refrigerator wasn't working or the freezer and they sent someone who came out and immediately said it had nothing to do with what Issac had changed and that it was a compressor issue. After several calls to explain the issue was not fixed, they asked for $50 more dollars to change the compressor and at this point we were desperate so we did pay it. They came out and changed the compressor and a day later we realized the refrigerator and freezer were still not as cold as they should be and they had to come out again and add coolant to the compressor. During this time we kept mentioning that we had a leak caused from the first technician so yet another technician came out and changed out some parts that did not stop the leak whatsoever. Not to mention by the time all of this happened we had lost all of the food in our refrigerator and freezer. When yet another technician came out on yet another day they said we had a cracked filter and would need to pay $200 to change the part. At this point I reached out to Action Appliance several times explaining to them that we did not have a leak until the first technician came out. After several calls I was told that there is no proof that the technician caused the leak and it would need to pay $200 to have it fixed. I explained the entire situation to Alyssa the manager who said they wouldn't fix the leak if we didn't pay for the part they broke when they first came out. My original call was for the refrigerator and freezer not cooling off and had nothing to do with a leak and after two visits with the first technician we had a large leak which is proof enough that it was caused by the technician. After doing lots of research I've discovered that this company has horrible Better Business Bureau reviews that sound exactly like my story along with a 1.4 star rating on Yelp with many more stories just like mine. Control boards being changed out that never needed to be changed out and work not getting done correctly and never getting fixed. Please mark this company name - Action Appliance as a bad company and tell others so that you never have to go through something like this. I'll be reporting to them to the Better Business Bureau, on social media, contacting Dave Logan and other consumer complaint groups, and looking to see what it would take to sue them in small claims court. He explained the issue and I had to wait a day for delivery of a part. However, he returned the next day and installed the parts. This company is an absolute disaster. I've never encountered such a lack of competence and professionalism. They sent a technician out three separate times for a simple dishwasher repair, and with each visit, the price mysteriously inflated by hundreds of dollars. Their "craftsmen" are clearly clueless. First, they installed a completely unnecessary part. When that didn't work, they decided it must be a different component--a second mistake that only added to the bill. To top it all off, they refused to give me a final quote until the day the technician showed up, at which point the price jumped another $150. After all that, I tried to get answers from their main office. I was hung up on multiple times, and the service manager outright refused to speak with me. In the end, I paid more for their botched repairs than it would've cost to just buy a new dishwasher. They are dishonest, incompetent, and completely untrustworthy. I'm rating ACTION at 1-star, because there is no lower rating. THEY DO NOT TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. Action Appliance replaced a control board on my refrigerator. My icemaker stopped working once that happened. When I called them back, they sent a technician who claimed that the icemaker needed to be replaced, although there was a non-zero chance that the board was defective. His management refused to replace the board under the 90-day warranty period, suggesting that there was a possibility that the icemaker failed *after* the board replacement, even though they didn't VERIFY icemaker performance AFTER the board replacement. When I called, they said that they would send another technician but that I would be on the hook for $150. The owner refused to speak to me, and the customer service reps had no power to solve my problem. read more

This company is awful. Came to my home to look at my broken dishwasher. The tech was not able to give me a clear diagnosis. He told me that he "thinks" its the mother board or the drain pump but wasn't sure. The parts he suggested to fix the disherwasher were about $800 total. I was not comfortable purchasing parts for a job where he was not exactly sure what the problem was. If I had ordered them, and it didn't turn out to be his "so called guess of the problem" I would have been stuck with the parts. So he never was able to make a true diagnosis and told me to just buy a new dishwasher. Later that evening my husband was able to do a hard reset and drain the standing water at the base of the dishwasher and get it working temporarily. At that point, I realized that the tech could have helped me out in the moment and simply drained the water during his visit to help me get the washer working again. I called to discuss with the manager later on; he refused to acknowledge any of this. Plus I'm out the $155 for the "visit" in which absolutely nothing helpful was done. I then looked at reviews for this company, and almost all the recent reviews and the same complaints and 1 star reviews. Guess I should have done my search ahead of time. They have same-day service that's the only good thing I can tell you about this service. I paid $500 for new springs to fix my washing machine only to have the exact same problem. They sent out another tech and he quoted me an additional $750 for a new transmission . I called to speak with the manager she told me they would sell it to me for 250. I requested my money back and told them I would give the springs back that they put in, that didn't make a difference at all. They said they couldn't undo what has been done. They wouldn't work with me and I am out $500 and a broken washing machine . read more

Called them for a dryer repair. I have used them for years and been VERY happy until now. The tech told me that I needed a $475 dryer maintenance kit and a $200 vent cleaning. I wasn't overly happy about the $475 to repair the dryer; but, it was less than replacing. After paying, he scheduled the vent cleaning. I did not thoroughly review the paperwork (never needed to before as they were very honest and ethical); however, the fact that the tech did not show me any of the electronic paperwork on his iPad should have raised a red flag for me. Today, the vent cleaning took place -- the cost? $250. That's right, $50 MORE than the quote. I complained and was told that they needed to talk to yesterday's tech. The tech lied about the quote he gave me. I was also told that since I signed yesterday (and they hid the $250 from me in the electronic paperwork), I was going to pay $250. This company used to be good, honest, and ethical. Now they have descended into lies and deception to extort higher fees out of the customer. After using them for about 20 years, I cannot recommend them any more. Furthermore, I will never use them again. Beware of this company. read more

Our refrig was not cooling down. I was gone, my husband called I guess the 1st co in the yellow pages and the tech came the same day. Very nice. Diagnosed we needed a new fan. Replacement cost was $714. i asked for the cost of the fan. Tech said the office just charge for your order, nothing itemized. About 3 hrs later I canc it and called abt 8am the next morning and a very cherrful lady named Kelsey answered. She got so angry when I said we wanted to canc , decided to buy a new one. She was angry said there was a 25% canc fee. We agreed to pay the 25% on the $700 or the $159 svc call. I said no, we would pay one or the other. She billed our cc $332 canc fee on a $700 job. Of course we are disputing that. The refrig started back working & we didn't have to buy 1. After 2 wks, the problem returned. I called Appliance Expert, LLC, referred by Bell Plumbing, . His shop in Wheatridge. he came the same day, put the $69 fan in & charged us $229 for the trip & service. total bill was $304. Awful customer service. Came to fix a locked door on my washer. Took 2 days and charged $500+. Then that tech made an incorrect diagnosis. Told me my drain was clogged. 3rd party drain service verified the drain was not clogged. Another $100. First attempt to use the washer after they said it was fixed, I find that now the door wouldn't stay shut. Third Action tech came out and agreed they probably broke it since that's what they worked on. Called service again. They promised to call back. 2 days later no call. Finally I reached them today and they want to charge me to repair what they broke then refused service altogether because I wouldn't pay them in advance. I would steer clear of these guys. This is the worst service company I have ever used. We have had them "working" on our dishwasher for five months now. We have invested $1000 in repairs. Yes, I know we could have had a new one by now. It's a long story of ordering parts and having their poor techs tell us time and again that this should be the fix. The people in the office, once and if you get past the receptionist, are horribly rude. We had them scheduled today, they cancelled last minute and tried to push us to Tuesday. They refuse to connect you to a manager, and claim they have no owner to contact. This company appears to be a complete sham. Should have read their more recent reviews.... If I could give zero stars, I would. This company is not considerate of customers time, or finances. The THIRD technician who came to fix our dishwasher, after it was misdiagnosed on Friday and couldn't be repaired on Saturday by them, was hostile when we told him that what we were quoted on Saturday was over $100 less than what he quoted. He said that there was a misprint on their end, but we would still need to pay for the extra money. I told him how money is really tight right now and I needed to call my husband. He got pretty hostile on the phone with my husband while I was alone with him and my newborn, snapping at my husband saying how he wouldn't fix it and had no problem walking out. He said that my husband could call customer service, so he did. For 20 minutes we waited and my husband later told me how he was hung up on. We ended up paying the extra $100+, putting us at around $650... after the guy finished "fixing" the dishwasher, he said how they really do value customer satisfaction and asked for a google review... so there it is. Now, one day after it was supposedly fixed by him, our dishwasher is not working once again.... The incompetence, and lack of customer service is astounding. read more

Once the technician arrived he was unable to replicate it but said if it did it again to let him know. It did and i was quoted 522 which is astronomical for a sensor repair. Other companies are half that. When I called to cancel the repair a very rude man refused and told me that he had different information about the repair. He also said that there is a 25% cancellation fee from some contract that I allegedly signed even though i was never told or sent this information. Now i am out 260 and no repair. I specifically asked the technician to check the control board, but he insisted it was just the ice maker part and charged me $160 for that "diagnosis." I bought and installed the part he told me to order--same result, no ice. When I called back, they said I'd have to pay another $160 just to have him check the control board. One representative I spoke with was kind but never called me back, and another was rude and condescending. I finally called a different company, who quickly confirmed the actual problem was the control board. Because of Action Appliance's refusal to properly diagnose the issue, I wasted over $500 on unnecessary parts and fees. I requested service for our Decor 6 burners cook top, Technician showed up, I showed him the problem with the burner, he told me he needed to order a tool. He showed up a week or so later, with the tool, and it was the wrong tool. They order another tool. Weeks went by, I finally called them to see. They dispatched the technician and the new tool broke, while taking the hold down rings, he broke and striped a hold down ring from another burner. I asked if he had a service manual for this unit, his answer was I think I can get one. He had no idea in how to disassemble the unit. I paid them $229.00 a poor diagnostic. Later the supervisor said that is standard procedures to cut the hold down rings. I would not recommend this company. read more

If I could choose zero stars for this review, I would. We asked Action Appliance to repair our Samsung glass stove top. They told us we needed two new boards and asked for full payment ($1300) before they ordered them. After 6 weeks and many, many phone calls, we were told the parts had "not yet come in." We called another repair company and they fixed it in 2 days for about $500. We filed a claim in Adams County Small Claims Court and paid the Adams County Sheriff to serve the court notice. Action Appliance refuses to accept the court notice, so we cannot recover our $1300 or place a lien on their company without serving them. Beware of Action Appliance - they are scam artists. We had a "no heat" issue with our furnace, which was less than a year old. Tech was scheduled for between 2 - 4Pm and arrived after 6PM. The furnace worked for 2 days and then stopped heating again. Since it was Saturday after 6PM, we were unable to reach anyone at the office. They aren't open Sunday, have no after hours or emergency number and do not even have voice mail setup on their phones. We called Monday and got a tech scheduled for between 2 - 4Pm and again he arrived after 6PM. In a period of a week, we had 2 separate no heat problems, the tech was late for both appointments and we were unable to reach anyone until the next business day. I don't expect them to be open 7 days a week but for a company that installs furnaces, you would expect an after hours number at the least. Customer service is severely lacking. read more

I called them to fix my refrigerator, which should have been a straightforward repair. They quoted me $3,000 "by job" -- their words -- to fix everything wrong with it. I figured, for that much money, it should be running like brand new. Fast forward: they've been to my house THREE times, and guess what? The refrigerator still doesn't work. Now they have the audacity to tell me there are "additional issues" and want to charge me another $500 to "fix it correctly." Let me be clear: $3,000 should have covered everything. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Any appointment is going to be a four hour window. For me they told me 12-4 hour window and when I called at 3:30 to ask if they were still coming I was told that I had a 2-6 hour window. Kelsey claimed that while she had told me 12-4 that at the end of the call she told me it would actually need to be 2-6, I never heard that if that even was true. So when re-scheduling Isabel told me that they try to make it during the 4 hour window but there isn't even a guarantee of that. I asked to speak to a supervisor but there isn't one available, so I asked for one to call when available Isabel said one might not be able to call me. I asked for a discount for the inconvenience of making myself available for four hours and then having to reschedule for another 4 hour window. They wouldn't even offer one dollar off, zero zip, zilch, nada. For the next four hour window, I asked if they knew where I was on the order for the day, don't know she says, I asked if they knew if the person with my part had even started working for the day to get some kind of an idea, no she says we don't have that info. I HATE the fact that I'm having to write this review, simply because I grew up with the family who owns this business. But I have to. On Friday, I called Action Appliance due to my oven not heating properly and I was told they would arrive between 1-4. At 3:30 I called back because I hadn't heard anything and was told they were running late due to a previous call. No worries - I understand that. The technician arrives and tells me that the heating element needed to be replaced - the oven would not work without it and I had 14 people coming over on Saturday for our Christmas dinner. When I asked the cost, we were told that it was going to be almost $450.00!!!! What??!!! However, I was bent over a barrel because I had 14 people coming over the next day for our Christmas gathering. So after lots of grumbling and stating that we were being price gauged - the part was installed. I started calling the office on Monday morning to request an itemized invoice. They refused to give me one stating that they "have to many customers who can't undersand an itemized invoice so they don't offer that". I left a total of 3 messages to have Kimball (the owner) call me so that I could talk to him about his fees and the service done. He never called me back. Never. I finally today got a hold of another office lady who was so incredibly rude - that I even said she was making this review much easier to write. She was horrible. We looked up the part to be replaced - it is $60.00. So they charged me $345.00 for a 45 minute service call. She said that was their normal service fee. This company is a fraud in every sense. They totally overcharge, their office representatives are rude and Kimball the owner has zero respect for his customers. Which is a shame because as I mentioned, we've known each other since high school. Did I expect a discount? Absolutely NOT. But I did expect fair pricing and what we were charged was completely irrational and should be illegal. I would NOT recommend this business at all. read more

I typically have a high tolerance for injustice; however, I would like to make everyone aware what I experienced so that it will NOT happen to you. I had just moved and the refrigerators' ice maker stopped working [was intermittent]. A technician came out, determined that I needed a new one [@ $635], which I authorized and it was installed. About a week or so later it was intermittent again. Another technician came out and advised me that I now needed ANOTHER PART for another $400+. Since my original ice maker installed had a 90 day warranty I asked them to replace the part they installed just to be sure that was not the problem. The technician said that was not going to be possible [WHAT?]. I then called them and they - again - said they would need to sent out a technician [which was the same one as the 2nd time]. I sent several messages [through website, etc.] and it has now been 2+ weeks and NO RESPONSE. In my opinion, this is very unprofessional so I felt it was my duty to warn others. Allen, the technician arrived on time, and my dog gave the approval to allow him into the house. :) Allen did tests on my dishwasher and unfortunately was not able to have the same error code come up. He also put the disposal hose up the way it was suppossed to be in the very beginning.
