Have dined here many times and always had good service and food until: Yesterday, something was wrong. Service was scattered between numerous servers. There was lack of communication between these servers. No bread or biscuit served with salads. Wife had the same salad as most times. It came out as a half order instead of a full order. She ask about whether the menu had been changed. Server checked and advised that cook had made a mistake. They would prepare the rest of the salad and bring it out. Wife ask that it be placed in a to go container. Salad came out on a plate via a different server. Wife ask that the salad be placed in a to go container again. When the salad came back it had been dumped into a cardboard box. No plastic, just a cardboard box. Myself and another person had the buffet. As we emptied our plates and returned for more food, the dirty plates remained on our table. No one offered to take them away. read more

The food is good but the service is what will stop me from coming back. I've been here three times because it is close to work and the three times the service was lacking. The first time we just sat there unnoticed for 20 minutes before the bartender admitted they forgot about us. The second time my food came out wrong and didn't get my correct dish till others were getting their checks. Then the last time we sat there with empty drinks the whole meal. We would've waved them down but they weren't even in it part of the building for it being so empty on the restaurant. The food is average/fine but the service will ruin everything else. read more

We went for brunch and I thought the food was great! I had the buffet which I thought had a really good variety and was delicious. A few of my friends ordered off the menu and they really liked it. I also had a Bloody Mary and they were only $5! It was so good! The service was just okay. She was nice but there were stretches of 15 minutes where she wasn't around. Went twice in the last month and ordered the same thing both times. First time was GREAT! Yummy pizza and inexpensive draft. Second time was nothing but problems. Pizza was not as good, tasted different, had different & far less toppings. Drafts were more expensive for some of us but not for all of us (This was corrected.) And a 20% gratuity was added to each bill not once but twice (also corrected). These are management issues; when management goes down so does the quality of the experience. read more

This brunch was terrible. You have to pay extra for an omelet. I'm not accustomed to that so that took away one star. Also the buffet items were not refreshed and were not tasty. I was pleasantly surprised tonight by this new restaurant. They had a nice acoustic band playing and the service was great. I also tried an appetizer along with their pizza and it was tasty! great menu! I was also surprised by all the TVs DVD was told they total of 34 TV. How bad can it be. Two steaks both went bad as they tasted off and gritty, they switched to hamburgers which were OK. The potato skins came out with burnt cheese and were sent back, 5 minutes later they came back out. The service was very slow and not professional, however sweet our female server attempted to be. For a Friday in August, we expected more people to be there. The food was great, the service was horrible. Our waitress disappeared after delivering our food to the table. After eating, and about 20-30 minutes waiting for her, the manager came up to see how we were doing. We asked for our checks, and he asked if we wanted refills too... It took them 4 tries to get a Coke right (root beer, sprite, the check, and finally a Coke). Then after another 20-30 minute wait, I flagged the manager down to take the check. I ordered a margarita pizza expecting to have tomatoes fresh basil and cheese on my pizza. When my pizza came there wasn't any fresh basil however I did see a speck of green only to realize it was probably mold. Stopped in for lunch this week and I liked the décor and industrial atmosphere. We both ordered the 12 hour smoked brisket sandwich and it was very good. The brisket was sliced thick as it should be, and it had a minimum of fat (a little fat is to be expected with Brisket). The sandwich came with some home made potato chips, which were great and over salted. There was no additional BBQ sauce with the sandwich but the waitress brought some when we asked for it. The server was very nice and attentive and kept our Ice Tea glasses full. it was an all round good experience and I will come back when I am in the area. read more

Visited Fire Pit Grill for the first time today at lunch. I was surprised that it was as empty as it was, I think there were only a couple other tables but they were on the opposite side of the restaurant so I can't be sure. The ambiance has really changed since Chowder's, I'm impressed with the renovations and decor. The menu boasted a small variety burgers, sandwiches, chicken chunks, and appetizers. I ordered the Black and Blue Burger and my dining companions order the chicken chunks and a chicken gyro. We all enjoyed our food, especially the gyro, the burger, and the potato chips. The chips tasted homemade, and were exceptional. Our service was average, not slow, but since we only get a short lunch break not as fast as we would have preferred. But we were in and out in less than 45 minutes so not much room to complain. I will definitely be back to the Fire Pit, both for food and beverages. It looks like an ideal place to have a few drinks after work. I look forward to the opening of the patio once it's not zero degrees! read more

Food: GFS/Sysco - tier. Most everything ordered looked as if it was prepared ahead of time and reheated. I ordered the ribs, and the bones were much hotter than the meat, indicating that they were microwaved shortly before being brought out. The pizza was almost certainly cooked from frozen. As with most mid to upper level restaurants in the Toledo area - FirePit could benefit greatly from reducing their menu by about 90%, and cooking the remaining 10% of items well. Service: The waitress messed up our appetizer order and ended up not getting the appetizers until after our main courses. Even then we got the wrong appetizers. The manager comped up for all of the appetizers and corrected the order. It was the waitress's first night so the mistake is understandable, but instead of taking responsibility for the mistake, she blamed it on the kitchen, which we discovered to be a lie when the manager explained that she had put in the wrong order. Facility: Generic, big-box feeling. Lots of space. It felt like we were eating in someone's finished garage. Generally clean. read more

Have been to this place 4 times in last 3 months as we live in area, every time the service has been absolute terrible.....food decent but service always a problem. Today we went in and sat for lunch at inside bar...we had work shirts on hoping they would notice we were on a lunch breaks and needed to be in and out. About 20 mins after walking in a so called manager approaches me to ask if anyone has waited on me and I responded no....so she says someone will be with you shortly and walked away and about 10 mins later someone else comes up and says "I'm not your server but can I get you a drink, your server is busy but will be with you shortly"...(You would have thought manager would have asked that but no)....story continues... So we ordered waters and wait another 10 before our real waitress comes over and takes order without an apology for the 35 min wait....anyways we order and receive our food 15 mins later which at this point I'm already late however the food looked pretty good so sat and ate anyways. After that we didn't see our waitress the entire time we ate and once we were finished I stood up with that look of disbelief and that "want" look as I needed to get my check and leave for work but nobody even attempted to notice us.....finally got check and left. We also went on Sunday and a party of 40 was on patio so we walked in and went to patio bar which was empty....we had party of 8 who all sat at bar. Not one person acknowledged us at all and it took us having to ask for service before anyone would wait in us! Not good at all if they want what all businesses need to survive (repeat customers)! The Point: place looks cool, has great potential but service and whoever runs this place needs to step it up! They have huge potential with access to neighboring residential areas matter of fact one practically in their back yard! Locals who would love to spend money here but the atmosphere absolutely sucks and so does service! Place needs some good local live music or any entertainment for that matter would have been nice as we have been on several weekends now with nothing! Also place needs a lot more staff before who are well trained before I will go back. Heads up Firepit, if you didn't notice you have one of the largest and nicest patios around and your not capitalizing...you should feature this with some live music and drink specials every night of the week! Went there Friday 4/29/16 with a large party. Food was terrible and wrong. Service was even worse. Everything took forever(food, drinks and bills). Bills were messed up and never corrected. Managers were clueless and not helpful. There are too many good restaurants in Toledo that have GREAT service and EXCELLENT food so we won't be back! read more

It feels like this place is finally starting to get a groove going. I had previously criticized some of the pricing, those may have been adjusted. food was good, service was great-beautiful patio. My new favorite place to watch the Tigers! Beer selection is improving-Maumee Bay IPA is always a solid choice. would like to still see more craft beers and maybe time to look at some decent wines, but overall, really pleased with the evolution. Ate here about a month ago. I've been hearing so-so and poor things of late, with alot of staff jumping ship to get out. The place was virtually empty when we arrived, and was literally empty when we left. The food was pedestrian at best. My girlfriend had a chicken sandwich which was fine, and I had a pizza. I don't think the pizza was made from scratch, probably a frozen crust. I've had better from the freezer section of the grocery store. The decor and ambiance was nice, but that alone isn't going to save a place that's got poor food, wishy washy service, and is on the edge of civilization. Lots of traffic on Airport Highway, but it's mostly driving by. If you just want a beer, cool, go here. If you want a "nice" dinner go somewhere else. read more

This place is awesome! I was in town for 14 days & came here 3 times! Once for drinks, other times for food. This place has great atmosphere, but the reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I felt the service could use some real help. The servers seemed very inexperienced, inefficient and uninformed when menus were changed etc. the bartender one time didn't seem to give a hoot about servicing me or not. Very unprofessional. I went to Fire Pit Grille for Sunday brunch after learning that they served brunch. It seems everyone in Toledo is yearning for a good brunch spot, and yet none are readily available. The seating was open, and a guitar player and jazz singer were swooning at the perfect volume during our meal. The food was excellent - in fact, two people at our table thought their blueberry pancakes were the best they had ever had, and truly, they were - fresh, plump blueberries with an excellently crafted pancake. The bloody mary I tried was also top-notch. The service was slow and lacked the attentiveness that would be expected at such a high-quality restaurant, and only for that reason does this meal rate four stars instead of five. With time, I'm sure the service will improve as well, but the food was definitely a wonderfully positive experience. read more

NOT RECOMMENDED, FOOD: got a house salad, ribs and onion rings. Salad was better then most, ribs were good reminded me of Damon's, onion rings were right out of the freezer. Had to order extra sauce for ribs. No extras i.e. corn bread, rolls etc. up-charge for onion rings as one side and salad was extra. 15 to 20 beers on tap. DO NOT GET DESSERT. ATMOSPHERE: sports bar like and clean no firepit that I could see. Plenty of people waiting to sit but we got right to the bar to eat. SERVICE: was terrible, slow and way under staffed. We were there Friday, 4.1.2016 around 5:30pm. I ordered Sous Vide Sirloin, recommend by our waiter. I couldn't even cut it with a steak knife. I tried to chew it but ended up spitting in into a disposal napkin. I was told it was cooked in a immersion cooker, I think it was someone's shoe. So naturally I sent it back. It took 14 minutes before our waiter returned and asked if I would like to order something else. So, I ordered the French Dip. The Au Jus was so salty it actually blistered my tounge. Needless to say, it too was inedible. My husband had the ribs, mediocre at best. We received a bill for $42.00, no apology from the manager or waiter. Left hungry and will never go back! read more
