This dealership used to be the best. Between our relatives, friends, and ourselves over 20 cars have been purchased and serviced here. However, this is no longer "that dealer" any longer as they have been bought out by a much larger company. I am hearing more and more stories from people in our circle about the business practices and changes at this dealership. Several people took their car in for oil changes and the dealer recommended replacing parts that were new/recently replaced (brakes rotors, etc.) . As such, I would avoid having this dealership do work on your car. If they recommend replacing a new part, this means they have not even looked at it and are just trying to increase parts/service sales. All of the old sales staff have also changed. The new sales people seem pretty nice, but I will find out soon if they have the same customer focus and flexibility as in the past or if this is just another "get every dollar I can" dealership. read more

I've purchased at least thirty five brand new cars in my lifetime, I will say Firelands Toyota of Wooster was by far the most honest people I've ever done business with. The salesman Isaac, Sean the sales manager, Mike another manager and Brent in finance are great people to deal with. While driving from Cleveland to Columbus, we ran into car trouble and found this dealership as the nearest option. Five malfunction lights came on, so we called ahead, and Sarah was incredibly helpful in getting us in for a diagnostic scan immediately. Our mechanic, Austin, had the car in for about an hour and determined that the issue was related to the rear left speed sensor, though he didn't have the time to fully diagnose or repair it. He said the car was likely safe to drive back to Cleveland, but Sarah and Austin couldn't confirm whether another Toyota dealership would continue the diagnostics without an additional fee. Understanding our situation, they kindly waived the $200 diagnostic fee, which was a big relief. Despite the unfortunate situation, this experience restored my faith in humanity. Sarah and Austin were amazingly kind, empathetic and professional. This dealership has some great employees, and I hope they're recognized for their great service. This is an edit update to the review that I had sent in earlier. I have to expand on how much patience Paul Shirley and Sean Klemincic had in dealing with customers' demands. This story goes all the way back to May 2024. I decided I wanted a 2024 Rav 4 Prime. I was told By Sean that they may still be producing new vehicles. Sean turned me over to Paul Shirley to help me. An order was put in but by June it still was not acknowledged by Toyota. I was informed that I could possibly get a Rav4 xle hybrid and that they would look at the internet to see if they could find one with the specs that I wanted, they found a few but not exactly what I was looking for. So, in Nov I decided I would wait and order a 2025 Rav4 Xle Premium. In Dec Paul called me and advised that an order was put in with the exact specs I was looking for. and that production would begin around Dec 20 and be completed by end of Dec, first week of Jan. and true to his word the car was completed by the end of Dec. Paul informed me that the car was delivered on Jan 7, my birthday. I ordered a few factory accessories, and they all came in and that they were waiting for some plates so that the running boards could installed. On Jan 9th Paul informed that the vehicle was ready to be picked up. When I got there, it was everything they said it would be. Paul and Sean took their time and explained everything to me to my satisfaction. Paul took over an hour to go over everything in the vehicle and answered my question, so I understood them. I left there with the feeling that customers matter to them. Toyota should be proud of these two salespeople for taking that much time to make sure their customers leave their satisfied and that they got the best deal. Had an appt for service at Fireland Toyota Wooster on Friday, Jan 24, 2025 at 10am... arrived about 15 minutes late.... my RAV4 was due for 120,000 mile service, tire rotation, oil change and TPMS light on.... I also took after market warranty info for the TPMS repair... I was well aware this 120,000 service was a 4 hours job as it was quoted me several times prior to the appt.... I chose to wait for my car as I didn't have someone to drop me off... I waited patiently and quietly with my large dog while my car was being serviced.... after about 6 hours of waiting I walked by the service guy and was FINALLY acknowledged by him I was still there!!! Not once during the previous 6 hours did he come and see how I was doing or to give me an update on when my vehicle would be ready.... when it was time to check out 6 1/2 hours later and while having a conversation about my car, I learned that the TMPS HAD NOT BEEN REPLACED as I had asked when I brought the car in!!!!!! so I sat there quietly and patiently for 6 1/2 hours to not have my car fixed!!!! Needless to say I lost my temper in my view i had every reason to!!! I WILL NOT GO BACK AS THIS WAS MY FIRST EVER EXPERIENCE AT THIS DEALERSHIP!!!! I have been dealing with Toyota since 2016 when I bought my RAV4 new but over the past year or two and having experienced several different Toyota dealerships, what happened to me today is not new for Toyota and I will no longer deal with any Toyota dealer.... I will find a local garage and have them service my vehicle from now on!!! An example, I bought a couple Toyota after market parts one being a remote start, had it shipped to a different Toyota dealer (as I bought it online on Black Friday 2024. As I learned not every dealer does online sales). When I called the dealership I had it shipped to, to schedule an install. I was told they DO NOT install remote starts!!! So I called 2 other Toyota dealerships to have it installed they ALL told me they don't have someone who can install it!!!! So how can Toyota sell OEM parts for their vehicles yet have NOT one person to install it??? Dealing with a Toyota dealership is a JOKE!!! Good luck as I was very detailed in what I needed/wanted done and it was still a train wreck in dealing with them!!! read more

In October I was looking at buying a truck for use with my horse activities - I ultimately decided to wait on purchasing due to budgetary reasons, but my experience in looking at a nice truck with Firelands was nothing but positive. I'd never interacted with a dealership before but had heard all the horror stories, so I was hesitant, but they had a very nice deal on a 2021 Tundra that I was interested in, so I called and put a deposit down to see it (I live in NC). The entire process from putting the deposit down to seeing and test driving it was easy thanks to Matt (salesman) and James (manager). They were even able to offer me an interest rate 2% cheaper than the credit unions offer. I was very pleased with how they were in being flexible with my coming to visit, yet ultimately pleasant about my not going through with the purchase. At a certain point I'll need to replace my car, and if I decide to go with a Camry I would 100% fly back up to purchase from them! read more

AVOID this shady business unless you want to fork over your hard-earned money and be treated like dirt! Their mission statement is as follows: "To provide customers with unsurpassed service and reliability. To be responsive in meeting the customers' needs with services that surpass the industry's highest standards. Above all, to be honest and trustworthy with all daily business activities." This is straight off of their business card. To say that they failed to uphold their mission statement would be an understatement. This place sold a car to my 80-year-old mother-in-law for more than it's worth (based on the condition of the vehicle/blue book price range) and were unable to provide her with the title for months. The price was the least of our concerns, though we do feel she was taken advantage of as she made the mistake of purchasing it alone and not attempting to negotiate the sticker price. If we had lived in the state at this time we would have advised her to look elsewhere or to negotiate a lower price, but I'm sure they saw her coming a mile away. As it turned out, they sold the car to her without ever having owned the title, which I believe is against the law based on what I've researched. They denied that this was an issue or inconvenience for my MIL and treated her as if she was a nuisance to them when she checked in frequently to ask what was going on, as she could not register the car without having the title. Apparently they could not obtain the title from the previous owner and as a result, they gave her the runaround for months. She had purchased a car from them in the past and was happy with the process, but under the new ownership she was treated poorly and is regretful that she trusted the new owner. I stepped in and contacted the owner, Dave Hill, myself. I had hoped to come to a resolution that would help my MIL to feel that something had been done for her after she spent months worrying about the title and registration. To my great disappointment, Dave was condescending, childish and rude. For example, when I attempted to interject while he was giving a longwinded and unacceptable explanation that I'd heard several times before from his staff, he then refused to discuss the matter further, claiming I "wouldn't let him speak." In reality I had politely interrupted him to say that I had already been given all of this information from his staff, but that I wished to discuss what he would be doing to remedy the huge inconvenience and amount of stress he had caused my MIL. He flatly refused to do anything to show her that her business was appreciated and blamed me for "not letting him speak." I told him I would love for him to speak but that I didn't have time to go over what had already been discussed with his staff several times. He called me my mother-in-law's name at one point, which told me that after months of battling with his staff and then assuring us that the owner was aware of the situation, he didn't have the courtesy to differentiate me from her. My car sat in their parking lot for 5 days waiting for an estimate. Every time I called, the guy was never there. I left messages, and he never called me back. Finally, I went in there to talk to the guy, and he says that the estimate still isn't done. Then he has the nerve to tell me "why should I waste 2 hours of my time writing an estimate unless you commit to having it fixed here?" I said that depends on how much it's going to cost! How can I decide whether or not to have it fixed there until you give me the price? Talk about stupid and unprofessional! This place is just a big waste of time. It's a wonder how they even stay in business. read more

Want to buy a Toyota? I recommend a visit to this dealer. The sales people, especially Tim, are honest and understanding. Steve will work hard to get you the best deal and Ellen in finance has always gotten me excellent financing options. I have shopped other Toyota dealers and have aways gotten a better deal plus a pleasant buying experience from this dealer. I have a new Toyota that developed a problem that Toyota was only partially aware of. I explained the problem to Doug in their service department. He researched the issue and found a suggested repair from Toyota. When that didn't resolve the issue entirely, he and the technician worked out an excellent way to resolve it. It is not my policy to rate a business from a one time visit. It is important to give the benefit of the doubt; ie. could've been a bad day, etc. We leased a vehicle from Toyota and every 5000 miles bring it in for regular maintenance. This would be our 4th visit. The first visit was great. Was in and out of there in 35 min. with exceptional customer service. The last 3 times has been an hour and a half wait with less than adequate service. One of those hour and a half waits was to snap a panel on in the front interior. Today was just as bad as I was the only one in the waiting room for an hour and a half for an oil change. Think twice about this location. Very disappointed. read more

On 05MAR16 bought a battery for Prius key fob; on 07MAR16 took car in for new brakes, and a 2nd battery for 2nd key fob-- the 2nd battery had a 12% mark up! I asked who determined the prices of parts--the parts manager does...who has a personal vendetta against me... On 13APR16 took my Prius in for an oil change--went to pick it up after work, and found it running...I told the service manager, Doug, that it was still running & he said the car wash guy had not shut it off...It ran for OVER THREE HOURS!!! I asked for compensation (use of gas & wear & tear on that expensive electric battery) & I was offered $15 off my next repair...UGH! How about a gas gift card and a FREE oil change. read more

Lost it's way. Prices higher than competitors, sales team is only around FOR the sale, not after. After not being able to work a trade on a lease I went to Polotta Ford who gave me a great deal and 5 star service. We proudly now own no Toyotas and will keep it that way forever more. read more

Don't take your vehicle here for body work unless you are planning on having it thoroughly expected afterwards for any damage introduced by an improperly done repair. We had a leak in the back of our car after the body shop repaired it, and we didn't know it because of where it was. When we discovered it and approached them, which was a year later, they hid behind a 12-month, 12,000-mile warranty nobody had told us about. We took the car there to be properly repaired after we had gotten rear-ended, and instead we had to pay an extra $140 for damage they caused. They were the only ones who worked on the rear of the car, and our shop showed us a picture. No offer to even reimburse us for part of it. read more

Service Department has went downhill. Not a friendly group of people. You can rarely deal in Wooster. Better to look in other larger markets for deals. Not what it once was. read more
