I finally went to a Firehouse Subs...and I didn't really like it. It wasn't bad. My kids meal, meatball sub tasted like a meatball sub, but it wasn't anything to call home about. I was looking forward to trying these subs. I got the pastrami. Disappointing. Nit much flavor and the bread was tough and tasteless. There was nothing in the sandwich except cheese. The mustard? Couldn't taste it. No fixings? Peppers? Anything? The store was ok but the staff was unhelpful and no customer service. The cashier actually turned and yelled at an employee in the middle of my order. I don't know if his store is typical or if I just wandered into a bad one but I won't be going back. As a frequent diner at Firehouse, I would like management to know about my recent experience. I would normally be giving 5 stars all the way around, however, my experience with service today has made me feel like this deserves less than perfect. I was picking up an online order (fabulous idea btw, expedited service), and apparently the cashier behind the counter was new. His trainer was less than cooperative and did not exemplify what I call to be hospitable service whatsoever. I understand we all have long days, but in the service industry we are forced to keep our feelings to ourselves. Sorry Jill J, I do not care to know that you "hate training" or that you've "had a long day". As a food and beverage manager at a 5 star hotel in downtown, I would be appalled at the fact that you were my employee. It's called teamwork for a reason. Your trainee is only going to do as well as you do. Take your time to shine and run with it. The first time I had a sandwich from this chain in Jacksonville I was impressed, so I was grateful that someone decided to finally franchise a location in the Houston area. I have been to this location about ten times and the sandwich has been consistently great. They have a number of specialty subs which are steamed rather than baked, using high quality ingredients. The end product is a juicy, flavorful sandwich, which beats Subway and Quizno's combined. read more

Firehouse subs is my favorite place to get my subs. After eating here, subway was blown out. The brisket sub is simply amazing. The whole footlong plus chips and drink( the soda machine is awesome, it has so many different choices and so many mixes) came to about 11.30. It's worth every penny. The service is friendly, they welcome you when you walk in. It's very clean inside and they have so many choices of sauces. So today was my first time going to fire house sub's the second you walk in you are welcomed by the staff welcome to fire house!! Service is pretty slow. The hook and ladder is a great sub but i get sick 1/3 of the time i eat there. I think they probably dont clean the meat slicer good enuff and the bacteria contaminates the food. If i didnt get sick from eating the food and was a little faster service 5 stars. read more

Love this place! The employees are very friendly. The cashier Cici, calls me by my name, and knows my usual order, the brisket sandwich (#10), which is one of my favorite sandwiches ever! I tried the italian salad with chicken and salami today, since I had earned a free one through their rewards program and it was good as well, tons of meat all through it and the cubes of chicken tasted nice and smoky. After 4 grueling hours of studying for a midterm at Starbucks, I decided to treat myself to something new that I had never tried before. I remembered that there was a Fire House Subs across the highway that I'd wanted to try for some time. Upon entering, I was greeted by all of the three friendly employees. This is not typical for young high school kids working at fast food restaurants, so I knew I was at an establishment that ensures that its staff treats the customers well. Since I had never been there, the employees happily answered all questions I had about the different sandwiches. I finally decided on the Club, which was tasty. They have a large selection of hot sauces to choose from that range from mild to super duper hot, so of course this helped win me over (I love hot sauces). The sub was a little better than average, so had the great service and cleanliness of the place not been there, I would have rated 3 stars. I will definitely be back to try all of those hot sauces. read more

My experience here was a very lopsided one. On one hand, the restaurant is clean and the food is good. On the other, the staff was not friendly and brought down my whole experience. Except for one, Beautiful shining star in the darkness. A young handsome man named Luis.
