Finding the place was the hardest part as we drove around the building nearly twice before we realized the deli must be accessed from inside. Once inside, we loved the natural light pouring in and the cleanliness and openness of the deli. We took a few minutes to go through the menu as they have a lot to offer- many standard and specialty sandwiches, soups, salads, burgers and more. The lady helping us at the counter was patient and amazing, helping us to customize our order with a smile the entire time. We each ordered a different sandwich- an italian sub, a cheesesteak, a hot ham and swiss and an El Cubano. We ordered combos complete with deli chips (bagged but yummy) and a fountain drink (Coke products!) Everybody enjoyed their sandwiches. The only minor complaint during the meal is the Italian Sub had too much bread, or could have used more meat to complement the bread. If Knickerbockers ever wanted to place a location in the Phoenix Metro area we'd love to have them!

At one hour, we finally got to the register and said, "If you haven't even started our food yet, we'd love a refund." We got a refund. Hallelujah. They were kind about that But that also means we had waited for our food for an entire hour and they still hadn't even started it or come out to explain- nothing. Not even an apology. What we did get was a quiet resignation. We felt really bad for the girl working the register. I rated the food 3 stars bc I know it's good in Ohio, but we didn't actually ever get any served to us. This local joint typically caters to the business folks in the office building that it's housed in. They also do catering (check out their menus). When my neighborhood was sharing local restaurants that were doing take-out during the statewide "stay at home" order, I was excited to hear about this one. They had a turkey platter dinner as one of their options and I was quick to jump on that. Ordering was very simple-just a quick text to Dan and coordination of a pick up time (they also deliver, but I prefer to get out of the house when I can.) The food came pre-cooked and refrigerated, so all I had to do was heat it up. I was taken aback by the large portions-I was told it would feed 4-6 people. I bet my family of three gets 3 or more meals each out of this, easily. Not only was the food abundant in size, but it tasted great, too!
