Pulled up and could already tell the girl inside was over it. She and the other employee were talking, clearly irritated that customers had the nerve to show up. We walked in and got hit with, "the dining room's closed." Really? There's no sign, nothing online, and still a whole hour before closing. So I guess they just make up their own hours now?? I usually love Firehouse. However I ordered a sandwich today. I asked regular mustard, Mayonnaise, and tomato's and NO onions. There were opinions on my sandwich. No mayo and no tomatoes. Staff was super friendly and even made suggestions. I feel like the staff sometimes has the inside info. Like yo, stay away from the meatballs. Who would I be to argue? Place was clean everywhere. I came towards the end of the night and they were cleaning up. Helps them close and go home faster, but makes my dining experience better. Ordered 2 sandwiches. Brisket Beef and Cheddar. Fabulous. The sweet BBQ sauce hit the spot. The wheat bread is always so soft. Somehow they know how to toast it and it's still soft. Why can't the subs place know how to do that? I love Firehouse, and this is the closest location to my place. I love it because it's never busy, and the employees are always nice. I appreciate their calorie calculator (save yourself a couple hundred calories and get your mayo on the side). The Hook & Ladder is the way to go if you've never visited Firehouse. Download their app and get points for your purchases. Bonus: do the survey on your receipt for a free drink on your next visit. All kinds of ways to work that perk system. The meat at Firehouse is the best. It's deli thin, steamed, and so, so good. I never feel like I get gypped (like at the really large sandwich chain with circle shaped lunch meat and smelly bread). I love that they give you a pickle spear too. I sometimes forget how much I like pickles. Then Firehouse reminds me. If you haven't been to Firehouse, I'd recommend a visit pretty quickly. This place makes me not miss Quizno's so much. read more

I got a Veggie sandwich, which is supposed to be sauteed bell peppers, sauteed mushrooms, sauteed and raw onions, lettuce, tomato, mayo, deli mustard, Italian dressing, provolone, cheddar, and Monterey Jack. All of the ingredients were fine, except for the single piece of bacon that was included for some reason. Luckily, I saw it before I bit into the sandwich. It could be an honest mistake, I suppose. Sitting in the parking lot after ordering, taking the subs home and then taking a bite to find out one was wrong... then driving back to get the right sub made. Staff was cold, rude and unapologetic of the error. No offer to make up for the error or time I wasted, put the sub in the bag and said here's your receipt. First experience at any Firehouse and will encourage people to avoid it! Would rather eat at Subway (which is still the worst subs on earth), at least they make an effort to rectify their mistakes. I decided today to give this firehouse subs another try. I went for lunch today around noon (Saturday). I expected this place to be packed. There was maybe 2-3 tables occupied when I walked in. The cashier greeted me with a warm "welcome to firehouse!" I placed my order: Medium hook and ladder on white with no lettuce: The sandwich came out quick and hot. The sandwich was completely covered in mayo and mustard (overtook the flavor of the rest of the sandwich). They skimped a bit on the meat and cheese. It was $1.50 Extra for a small bag of chips. This sub is great when dipped in the house made bbq sauce (see pic). Medium turkey bacon ranch on white with no lettuce: This sub had great flavor! Although, the ranch sauce was a little odd when it was mixed with the mayonnaise. They also skimped on the meat and cheese for this sub. It was $1.50 extra for a small bag of chips. Overall this was still a 3 star experience again. A bit on the spendy side but worth a solid sandwich if you're in the area. I will be back due to the convenience of this location (close to home). Tried this new sub shop in Sandy on a whim! None of our party of four had been in yet, so we thought we'd belly up and try a Firehouse sub. We were all very pleased we did! This is a well-thought-out theme for a sub shop. Very well put together in keeping with the firehouse motif, they have dalmation spotted tables, and hot sauce they sell in the shape of a fire hydrant. So cute! Speaking of hot sauce - it's a true passion of mine - I had to check out their hot sauce "bar" - it's not really a bar, more like an area. But it's impressive, and I'm sorry I didn't snap a separate photo of it to include. They have at least 36-45 different hot sauce choices, from fruity blends to Dave's Insanity and the like. Their own firehouse hot sauce is more like a spicy BBQ, but still very good. We ordered the Hook & Ladder, the Steak and Cheese, a turkey-swiss combo, and the NY Steamer (brisket/pastrami combo). The only semi-disappointment was the Steak and Cheese. And for no other reason than the grilled onions and peppers depicted on the sign were barely detectable. But all were delicious, nonetheless. I particularly enjoyed my Hook & Ladder; smoked turkey, honey ham, and melted jack, served hot and "Fully Involved." Really nice compatible flavors going on there. So tasty! AND - drum roll - they offer white or wheat bread options. C'mon...that's awesome. At Firehouse, the term fully involved is worthy of a small tee-hee, and means "with everything." Most subs, hot or cold, come loaded with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a dill pickle spear on the side. None of us actually received the pickle spear, but then again, none of us like dill pickles, so we weren't disappointed. They have a great selection of subs in 8" or 12" sizes, and we had a hard time deciding with which to pop our Firehouse cherries. Hubby now wants to go back to try something other than the Steak and Cheese; and I don't blame him. The rest were better. Bottom line: Really good hot subs, price is decent unless you upgrade. I like the theme of Firehouse Subs... the names of the sandwiches are cool, and they are really quite tasty. The fault for me is the price of the meal... by the time you upgrade to a 12" sub, make it a combo, you are over $10. And maybe the prices are similar to other sub shops, but while I really like the quality and care that coes into these subs, I think they just give you less for your money. Atmosphere is nice, they scream out "welcome to firehouse" when you walk in, and the staff is very friendly. If you are not that hungry, and you just want a good sub (regular size) the price is right. I had a BBQ Brisket with Cheddar, and it was really good. the bread is fresh, and the meat is very tender, and I did not see them nicrowaving the meat like some other sub shops. I will be back to Firehouse again, but depending on the day, and my pocketbook, the next visit will be a harder choice when you can go to Subway and get a $5 footlong any day of the week. $23 bucks for me and my kid is just too steep for my blood to do on a regular basis. I've been to this location four times, and the Daybreak location twice. Even though it's the same menu, same chain, for some reason this location's sandwiches just taste better. More flavorful sauces or a more appropriate amount per sandwich, I'm just not certain. I've tried the hook and ladder which is good. I wasn't impressed with their New York steamer. They currently have a $5 offer for their medium turkey, ham, or roast beef. I think the roast beef is a great buy, and have gotten it a few times. The ham was good, however the turkey was my least favorite. If you like a savory hot sub sandwich, the roast beef or hook and ladder are good options. read more

My new favorite sandwich place. It just tasted fresher than your traditional Subway or Quiznos sandwiches. It's very similar to Jimmy John's except a bit slower, and maybe that extra time had something to do with why it tasted so much better! The firehouse theme is pretty fun and several kids were giggling and commenting on the fire hydrant and other themed decor. It wasn't particularly busy when we arrived on a Friday night around 8pm, but I've driven by several times during the day and it always seems to be busy (a good sign that they sell quality food!). They also didn't yell very loudly as some other reviewers complained about, but perhaps it was because it was near the end of the night and they weren't as "gusto" about their work (understandably). And for those people that complain about them yelling, many other restaurants (Jimmy John's, Cafe Rio) do similar annoying things. I suppose it's supposed to add to the "fun" atmosphere and maybe that's a good thing for serious business meetings. I started at the top of the menu and ordered a #1 in a combo, the Hook and Ladder sub, which is Smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, and melted Monterey Jack served on a wheat 8-inch sub. Wow. That was one of the best subs I've ever had. They have a table full of available sauces to add to your sandwich, but I'm not sure why you would want to change the flavors at all. I am so happy they put one of these close to my house. We use to have them in Dallas and would eat there occasional and it is nice to see some new stuff coming to the area. Solid 3 stars from me. Nothing too memorable besides the company. It reminds me of how Quizno's used to be before they went to crap. I had the New York Steamer (isn't that from Urban Dictionary??) which consisted of pastrami and corned beef with mustard, mayo (mayo on corned beef?!? I had them hold the mayo rather than risk being haunted by my Jewish grandmother's ghost), and italian dressing. The bread was nice and soft, the meat was moist and pretty good, but really nothing special. If you're in the area, its worth a stop for lunch. An 8" sub, medium drink and a bag of chips for $8 and change was a good amount of food. The 12" would have been too much for me for lunch. read more

The trade off for a better sandwich is a bit higher price and not the "fast-food" speed. For my very first time I couldn't have been more disappointed. I used the online ordering which was a catastrophe. I asked to split the check and she just swiped for the whole order and said she didn't know how to split checks. I asked if there was anyway to reverse it and I was told no, sorry and to try ordering separate next time..
