a close up of a sub sandwich

Absolutely terrible. Huge amount of large fruit flies everywhere. Brisket sandwich was Absolutely slimy and sour. The worst part was he cut the Brisket sandwich with a marinara covered knife and thumb printed all over it. Complete lack of care for no reason. I guess if you don't tip 60% they give you garbage. Worst experience ever had and the only customer in there.

Food was amazing and the service was even better! Facilites were clean and my kids loved the firefighter theme and hats.

I thought that was a cool way of ensuring everyone gets what they want. The guy came up and helped me and explained to me how I could get my sandwich. I ordered the kitchen sink but substituted the ham for chicken breast. I got the full and it was way too big. Should have stuck with the half. Sandwich was made real quick and tasted great. I sat down inside to eat and the whole dinning area looked really clean. The 2 things that I thought could have EIN proved was when I cashed out the guy who was going to make my sandwich handled my money with the same gloves he was using to cook the food. Fortunately someone else made my sandwich and I saw her put in new gloves. In not sure if he changed them or not but when he left the register I didn't see him try to take them off as walked away. That grossed me out. The other thing was when I walked in and left I was watched but never greeted. That little extra welcome or hello could make customers feel seen and valued walking in to eat and leaving. Overall the sandwich was delicious!

It was full of retro, lighting, booths, and decor. And asking the girl at the front for the best sandwich or the most popular one and she recommended the turkey bacon avocado. I ended up getting an 8 inch of that with some miscellaneous toppings with a drink and a snickerdoodle cookie. I was impressed by the amount of toppings such as bacon and avocado that were put on the sandwich, in a good way. In the end was actually pretty good. I do realize that at these kind of places the sandwich being good depends on what you put on it but nonetheless, I enjoyed my sandwich and cookie while reading a book in the corner. While comparison to Subway still stands it is more pricey, the combo with the eight inch sandwich ran me about $18, so wow good is not the front runner in terms of value. Another plus is that they do have farrs ice cream that you can get as well. All in all, a good sandwich shop and somewhere local to support! 3.75/5

So, the process took some time. Think, basically the opposite process of Jimmy John's, but more entertaining. The sandwich itself (turkey bacon avocado) was pretty good- half an avocado was scooped out right onto my sandwich, and the bacon was fried up right then. And the pricing is very reasonable. I wouldn't recommend the combo, because the cookies are comically tiny/not good and made me want to visit Cutler's right after.

You guys! I'm bummed I am posting this because we recently moved to the area and I want to do…read moreeverything I can to support locally but unfortunately we didn't have a great experience at Janet's. Let me share what I did like first: We enjoyed the vibe inside, everyone felt like they knew each other and knew the staff and that's exactly what we love about Mom + Pop Shops. We ate in the morning and the light was shining pretty gnarly into the glass windows, I appreciated that they had a make shift covering that they put up to help with the amount of sun that is let in. Anything is better than nothing for sure! Also, I really liked the hashbrowns- that's where this place gets a star for me because I hateeee when breakfast/brunch places do the home style potatoes instead of these yummy shredded hashbrowns. I asked for extra crispy and I felt that they delivered. Now let's get into why I am sad to leave this review- but I have to be honest if we had a choice between this place and Penny Ann's it's going to be Penny Ann's no contest. This establishment is very small (about 8 tables) and not well kept. There is dirt, dust, and cobwebs everywhere and if the dining area is not well kept- it makes me very nervous about what it looks like where my food is being cooked. Also as a heads up- the French Toast I'm almost 100% sure is sourdough. We did not know that and there was no writing saying that was the case so it was unfortunately an unpleasant surprise. Also while I was eating I bit into this hard wire/string thing and that immediately met my last straw and unfortunately we decided to ask for the check and our family left. Unsatisfied and unsure why this restaurant had such high ratings. Super bummed- I honestly don't think we will come back until I hear that they've made improvements on the cleanliness of the establishment.
