For a change up we decided to get the turkey with stuffing burger. What we got was a note scrawled on the container they were out of the stuffing for it. We got a mediocre frozen turkey patty with gravy and bacon and a soggy awful mess. I'm calling them tomorrow to get a refund or a comp for next time because this was truly a disaster and just plain gross. The only thing any good were the sweet potatoes fries, I always order them and the best I've ever had from a restaurant. But tonight will be a pepto bismol night. Just terrible and a waste of 50.00 plus taxes and delivery.

The owner came over and mentioned that the sauce for Yang Nyum burger is his own recipe which tasted good, but it's not the traditional Korean sweet and spicy flavour, though it had great heat to it. The chicken itself was hand beated which made it taste tender, but oh man, the fries were so crispy and addicting. The chicken wings were quite large and battered well. Definitely very saucy which I like, but did taste a bit saltier than I like. Service was super friendly and the food was brought to us. We elected for take out as we knew we weren't going to finish. The owner came over a few times to ask us how the food was and we had a nice conversation. Overall I really enjoyed the food and the place was comfortable to dine in. For some reason they made his item, let it sit 10 minutes and then made mine. During this time we were treated to the counter girl (short, with a light brown pony tail) loudly laughing and making fun of a customer who had called in a complaint about their order. Way to go on professionalism. We got home and I opened my sub which I had asked for no lettuce on. I didn't notice anything off at first due to the tzatziki having a lot of garlic. Took my first bite and IMMEDIATELY spit it out. I can deal with an order request being overlooked, but there was an easily identifiable and totally overwhelming taste of rot. I pulled the sub apart to figure out where it was coming from. When I found the lettuce (that I had told them not to put on), the overpowering rotten smell matched that of what I had just tasted. So basically, if you want to wait for a long time for hot food that is left out for long periods of time on a cold counter to cool (doesn't the health board have something to say on that topic?) only to finally receive food that smells and tastes rotten this is the perfect place for you to go. The rude staff floor show does help with passing the wait time though, I will say that for them.

(A particularly fond memory is sitting in the car with my brother after we had ordered through the car hop service at the former Granville House, listening to Dr. Bundolo's Pandemonium Medicine Show on CBC, and seeing the tray swaying up and down because we were laughing so hard the car was shaking.) That is, until I moved to Ontario, because White Spot is a B.C.-only kind of place. Since then, they have spun out Triple O's. You can find them in Alberta, Ontario, and even Hong Kong. Triple O's is a kind of mini-White Spot, but it's actually sort of the "best of" from the White Spot I remember: burgers, fish and chips, and shakes (minus the "Chicken Pick'ns", which, sadly, have also disappeared from White Spot's menu). White Spot still offers those dishes, plus a bunch of more upscale fare, and dining at White Spot is no longer affordable. Now, it's the kind of place you go for special occasions (unless money is no object). And, sadly, Triple O's is also at the top end of pricing for fast food joints. But still, for this homesick B.C. boy, chowing down on a Legendary burger took me back. It's still as good as I remember. But, to be fair to those who didn't grow up with White Spot, it may just come across as good, but overpriced.

I seems like some people haven't had a good nashville hot chicken sammy. It had spice, yes. But was there that nashville balanced blend of sweetness and cayenne, no. It didnt even have the look of a good nashville. It just looked like your typical deep fried chicken sandwich except it tasted like the fish sandwich because they probably use the same oil to fry it in. The chicken was a little rubbery. I dont know if thats from undercooking or buying it from walmart but it was less than enjoyable. Anyone who wants a good Nashville Hot should be eating or taking lessons from Christos in Sarnia. Trust me. Anyways. Their WTF sauce was really good and their waffle cut fries were top tier. I'll be getting a burger next, tho
