I order here pretty often. They usually forget the Captain Sorensen sauce. It makes the sandwich. It's why I go. The sandwich does not exist without the captain sauce. They forgot it again. I got home and it wasn't there. It wasn't busy. It's just annoying. The subs are so good though. If there's plenty of mayo and mustard it doesn't really matter.

This Firehouse Subs location on Montague Avenue in North Charleston is a great place to go for a well made sandwich. I like all of the ingredients that they have here and the sandwiches always seem fresh and well prepared. The cookies here are really good too as I usually get more than one. This is a good lunch stop when you want a quality meal and do not want to wait a long time.

Jamaican Jerk Turkey sub!

I'm a loyal Jersey Mike's supporter but something about the Jamaican Jerk Turkey sub has been calling my name since I first heard about it. MY GOODNESS I'll continue to cheat on Jersey Mike's! This sub is soooooooooooooooo good. The jerk seasoning has a nice sweet and spicy kick to it.

Steamed subs are tasty

I wanted to try this place because of the positive reviews and because I love mediterranean food…read more I thought maybe it would be one of those hole in the wall surprises... but, it was disappointing. I got the Chicken Shawarma Platter since that's what I saw mentioned the most in reviews. The chicken with dry, the "garlic sauce" was basically mayo, the rice was also dry and wasn't necessarily a flavor I would pick. There was one dolmas (even though the menu says 2), and it was good (to be fair, I didn't say anything about it). I imagine their greek salad would be good because the small side salad on the plate was good. For $16 though, it was pretty disappointing. When I think platter, I think more like sharing size, but this was pretty comparable to most places one person meal. I didn't finish it, but mostly because it was really dry and didn't taste great. We also got fried pickles (okay, but pretty greasy and they could really use some kind of dipping sauce), the hubs got the Ribeye Philly, he said it needed some kind of sauce and that he didn't feel the need to come back, so... nothing noteworthy. The kids got chicken fingers and fries. They polished off the fries (they were good!) but left most of the chicken fingers, I didn't try them, so... and lastly, the ambiance... if I had to pick between here and somewhere like Kairos, I'd pick Kairos... it's cleaner, they have music going, and my kids like to watch the videos of people making the kairos food. Med Diner has no music, the vibe is a bit weird (like someone cut out the middle back of all the chairs with like a saw or something), it feels a little thrown together and sad. I saw a handful of people go through the drive through while we were there, so maybe there's just something else they are better known for and we hit an off day. Just not my vibe.

Burgers are a bit "smashed" and had a nice, crisp sear to them and good flavor. Pickles were a gourmet, fresh style and the sauce was like a savory Russian dressing with strong dill flavor. I wish the bun wasn't so buttered but that's a personal preference. The fries though? Top tier. Super crispy but creamy and smooth on the inside, just enough Cajun seasoning and salt to make me want to shovel them into my mouth forever. And the price? An outstanding value for downtown Charleston. $60 before tip for 3 burgers and fries and a drink. Even less if you get there at happy hour. I keep passing by Big Gun and remembering I want to try it when I have already eaten... don't make the same mistake, get in there and give it a shot. Order at the bar, food came out fast, and bartender was super super friendly and clearly proud of his job and where he worked. J.Ja
