It took about 5 minutes for us to be greeted by anyone working; there were two employees working behind the counter, both were busy making sandwiches. Eventually one let us know it was going to be a few more minutes before they could take our order, to which I didn't mind - I recognize it takes time to make sandwiches. We waited for a bit (probably ~10 minutes), and then decided to place an order with them online and continue walking around while we waited. It took about 15 minutes for our order to be ready, so maybe this is the best way to go about ordering so you're not just standing around. To clarify, I didn't mind waiting but it also made sense to place the order and then walk around while waiting. I ordered the North of I70 Italian sandwich, and indicated that I wanted mayo, mustard and oil + vinegar. My wife ordered the sweet baby turkey, and also asked for mayo and salt + pepper. Neither of our sandwiches had any condiments on them (pic included). Each sandwich cost $20, and while I realize that the price of good deli meat has gone up, it was definitely a bummer to not have exactly what we ordered on a sandwich that costs so much - $40+ for 2 standard size sandwiches. The other thing to note is that the mushrooms are not fresh - also included a pic of the mushrooms which I assume come from a can/jar. Had I known the mushrooms were not fresh, I would not have ordered them. I was really rooting for this place to be good, but was overall disappointed in the experience and outcome of our order.

Even though I'm trying to keep my carb intake in check--I'm fully capable of for example enjoying a whole loaf of challah in one sitting if inspired but this wheat loaf did not inspire those kind of urges. As for the rest of the sandwich, it could have really used more curry aioli or something because I don't think I tasted that at all. If was ever forced to eat this same sandwich again I might ask for a side of vinaigrette, giardiniera, avocado. Something. The people were right: this was a dry sandwich. The reason I was even in Golden is because I wanted to test the feasibility of taking the W line to the Golden government center that is 2 miles from downtown and then riding my bike to have a picnic by Clear Creek. Turns out that yes, this is great with the understanding that the bike ride back to the light rail is way more intense when heading back to Denver. All uphill on my single speed! Without the Aspen Buddha, since it was 95 degrees or so I might have died had I not eaten/rehydrated. I am thankful for that. Also thankful for the life lesson about bringing my own picnic so I only have myself to complain to next time.

I ordered a Reuben on marble rye, which was superb, and a matcha latte, which was alright. I also got a small yogurt parfait with granola as a side. The deli is in a large modern building with excellent bathrooms and plenty of parking, and it also has outdoor seating. Happy to return next time I'm in town.

We liked that combination. The french fried were nice and crispy rippled ones. The employee also offered to let us try two kinds of ranch sauces, one individually pre-packaged and one they had poured into a cup. There's a water dispenser that you can get your own water. They also have a free video game that is fun to play while you're waiting for the wings to come out.
