I had lunch today from the food truck they have set up outside. Really good pulled pork sandwich and baked beans. Just wish they set up some picnic tables so I didn't have to eat in my car. read more

Sad update. Had late lunch on Saturday March 15. So very disappointed! My beloved candy bacon had no cayenne kick to it anymore! Just very sweet. The bacon itself was good & thick but taste was lacking the kick. On to my equally beloved fried chicken. No taste in the batter! None. Still hot and juicy but bland as all get out. Tried the stuffing-tasted like bread pudding waaaayyyy too much cinnamon, so sweet. Why sweet stuffing? Maybe a little but seriously it was like a cinnamon roll. My husband liked it though but not as stuffing. Saving grace the red beans and rice-delish but...lukewarm. Husband had bar-b-que and loved it. But I was bummed. The waiter was great-gave me only the thighs and wings that I wanted (yes I am a dark meat person), he also paid attention to the fact that I mentioned I would be taking home some of my sides (I was speaking with experience since I knew it was be so much food) and I had asked him to keep the sides separate and he did. I ended up bringing home most of the chicken. I gave it one more shot at home thinking maybe I was too full from the bacon. Nope-still tasteless. Maybe different cook? I wouldn't have believed that a little bit of cayenne would make so much difference in the candy bacon but wow did it! Please Firefly's go back to your old recipes. read more

Went there for the 1st time last night to hear the band FLASHBACK, the food was fantastic, ribs were perfect. Great place, the band was incredible. Great night, lots of dancing. Hope they have them back. read more

We stopped in Firefly's for our first time and LOVED it! Our waitress was extremely helpful with helping us decide between dishes & drinks! - although all staff was exceptional as well! Some of the best bbq I've ever had and we WILL be back for more!! :) read more

Sooo good! I'm from Texas so finding a great BBQ place in the NE has been tough. I drove just over 30 minutes to find this place and it felt like home. I only tried a couple things but first place I see fried pickles, chicken and waffles and ole' smoked BBQ - that was by far the biggest highlight. I'll be back and I'm sure any southerner will be happy when they try it. read more

Went there for brunch and all it seemed to be was leftovers from the previous day. Server was good, but food was unimpressive. One star is for server, who took the curse off lousy buffet. read more

Great food, huge portions, and always friendly staff. Some mighty tasty BBQ, one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Prices are average, but then again, you can't eat this food every week anyhow! Great selection of their own, homemade BBQ sauces as well as a wide variety of bottled hot sauces. The sweet potato pudding is a large serving of amazingness. read more

Our 1 experience with Fireflies goes waaaay back when they were in Quincy. Now we make a longer drive out to Marlboro. We went twice in 1 week this summer. We go mostly for the smoked chicken wings. The wings are whole with tips and are HUGE. We prefer their St Louis ribs over the baby backs. Oh... get the burnt ends appetizer if they still have it. We liked that more than the brisket we've had in the past. We've always had decent service and never waited long for a table. Be prepared to share or bring home tons of leftovers. YUM read more

We have fallen in love!!!! Firefly's BBQ was top notch from beginning to end. The little touches that make you feel welcome start from the minute you walk in the door. We were greeted warmly by not only our hostess but other servers who happen to be nearby. There had been a mix up with an open table reservation but we seated immediately anyway. The guy who showed us to our table explained all of the extra touches like the extra sauces and the condiment bar. When we were seated our server appeared immediately with a complimentary dish of cucumber salad (yum). Time was taken to explain the menu and specials and take our drink order. If you like barbecue this is the place to go! Both our meals were perfectly done. Hubs had This little piggy which was ribs, pork belly and sausage. I had pulled pork. All dinners come with two sides and cornbread! All was phenomenal. The owner, Steve, stopped by to ask how we were doing. He suggested we try the chocolate beignets. We were stuffed but could not resist his description. They were to die for. Warm, flaky and chocolates. Our only regret? We live 90 minutes away! But we will go back. read more

Food was great. Service excellent. Would have given 5 stars except no smoked turkey for the combo meal.

I love the food there, but I just had a bad experience with the hostess that needs to be shared. I walker in to inquire how long the wait was for a table. I had to wait 5 minutes for her to show up at the stand. When she told me 30 minutes, I thanked her and turned to leave. She gave me a LOOK and said, "It's Saturday night!" in a "duh" tone of voice. And I didn't even complain about the wait! read more

I love bbq, so I was excited to go here. Started with the fried pickles. Now, I love fried pickles... and these were just bad. Way too salty to eat and I did not care for the cornmeal batter. They were not busy, but the service was slow. We ordered drinks, they were out of Corona (and according to our waitress, they are always out of something). The beer I did receive was room temperature. I ordered the Beef Brisket, red beans and rice, and collard greens. The beef was VERY fatty. The waitress said the chef noticed so they gave me double portions, which was appreciated. The meat was tender and tasty. The red beans and rice was dry and flavorless. The collard greens were OK. The cornbread was moist, probably the best I've had in a long time. I was impressed by the mixed drinks and bbq sauce varieties. Their sauce really is very good. Overall, I'd say the experience was so-so. read more

i have gone back to this establishment numerous times over the years at the behest of my friends. i have given this place many, many chances to redeem itself, but it never has. food has been overcooked and forgetable, also service has been lousy. although i usually try not to complain. 1st time (2007): ribs and a virgin strawberry daquiri. sauce had good flavor, but ribs were way overcooked, even burnt, and had very little meat. i was legitimately shocked after all the good things i heard. drink tasted like it was a storebought, ready-made, very unappetizing. 2nd time (2008): went for dessert. host never told the waitress we were there. we waited with no service for about a half hour. she was very apologetic, but it was still off-putting. it was a slow night. my dessert was forgettable, in fact i can't remember what it was, but i notice its no longer on the menu. 3rd time (2010): ordered a country chicken plate (no longer on menu). flavors were decent, but it was a little dry. i asked for a very specific martini, just the way i like it. she came back with an olive in it instead of a twist. unfortunately, i hate olives, can't stand the taste. i politely said, i'm sorry but i really don't like the taste of olives, and i thought i ordered it with a twist. she sharply retorted, "No! You didn't!" My mouth dropped and she walked away and brought me another drink. She later apologized, but still that reaction just ruined my experience and meal. the only other two times i've been there have been for billiards and a drink that you can't mess up. i've been told by staff that it really depends on who is working in order to get the best experience. there are some really nice people there, but i've had too many bad experiences to ever recommend it for anything other than billiards and a well drink. read more

I had known about Fireflys for several years but somehow had never managed to actually GET there!! Finally, on the evening of March 15,2015 ,after my daughters' baton competition, we made it !! There were 6 of us in our party and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dinners. The cucumber salad was really good ,a very new thing to try. My future son-in-law was born in Louisiana, and he declared it was the best BBQ he had ever had. Our server was very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. As fellow servers, both my daughter and I were impressed with her manner. I feel badly that I do no recall her name.:( The only bad thing about our visit was that Steve was not in that evening. :( I would have loved the chance to catch up. read more

I finally made my way to Firefly's for and evening of BBQ. Why did it take me so long to go there is what I keep asking myself. This place is beyond great. I can't do it justice but I'll try. The wait staff was incredible our server knew everything about the food, she had a personality that was perfect for a real BBQ place. Sweet and spicy. The owner Steve stopped by our table more than once to see how our experience was and he has a great personality as well. The food was beyond Great. The brisket was so delicious and tender you can leave your teeth at home for this. The St. Louis ribs were so good and I had the Beef Ribs OMG so good I can't wait to go back. Drinks were also great, Voodo juice is a winner. We had appetizers too, chili mac and cheese, jumbo wings, burnt ends and glazed bacon. I needed a wheel chair to get out after dinner, lol. But instead we waddled into Dante's the attached night club for a Fools show, they were as good as ever. What a great night. Food, and atmosphere are worth a little drive, came from Salem NH and will keep going back. Keep up the great work because your knocking it out of the park. read more

Phenomenal and consistent. Chicken and waffles is the bomb. And they have the best cucumber salad!! The staff is really friendly and great about having young children there. read more

Went for the first time. Ribs were good and loved the cucumber salad. Corn bread was a little dry. I was there for a function and had Olivia and Sara as our waitresses. Sara was pleasant and made sure every one had what the needed. Olivia went beyond expected. We had a gluten free allergy and she was careful to make sure the plate was made separately. She even went as far as to bring us the ingredients listed on one of the products she was unsure of. These girls rock! read more

My friend & I ate here 2 weeks ago & it was so good that we returned this past Saturday. The BBQ is the best around & the service is always friendly & fast. The owner has been in the dining room on each visit asking every table how their meal is. The food is delicious & the portions are very generous. We are definitely coming back again! read more

Fantastic! Great food, drinks and a friendly staff! The wall of hot sauces is always fun too

The food was good but the service was lacking. Our waitress was very nice but it took 3 attempts to get the correct orders to the table. We were comped a meal but only after 2 of our 4 people needed to leave after 75 minutes without eating. We were forced to valet our car upon arrival and when we came out of the restaurant the attendant was no where in sight. The box with keys was open and unattended; anyone could have taken any key and taken off. Very disappointed. Would only consider getting take out in the future. read more

I do not understand the big deal with Fireflies. I'd use the quality over quantity argument. The food is ok, but not out-of-this-world good. I ordered a combo meal with 4 baby back ribs with a sauce the waitress suggested with cornbread, kale and mac and cheese for sides: Lot 'o food! The condiment bar was refreshing: it included pickles, pickled veggies, banana jalapenos. Although I was leery about the hot sauce shelf where one has to sign a waiver form to taste a sauce. I probably will not return... unless there is some form of taste "overhaul." read more

Really enjoy the food and the staff! Went with my husband last week and they had a live band. Great atmosphere. Strongly recommend!

I love this place and their food is awesome. I came on a Sunday and sat on the patio and it was getting really busy. The poor guy behind the bar had every table, 8 to be exact, and the bar on top of it. Kudos to his service, but management should be helping him out. read more

Firefly's has great food and drinks but also is a really fun place to hang out! If you haven't been you need to check it out. Trust me you won't regret it! read more

i have been coming here since I was 12. The turkey is amazing, my sister loves the Ribs and everyone loves it here, its a great spot for family. I LOVE ALL THE HOT SAUCE. this review is for catering only... i had wanted to go to firefly for a while, but i never find myself in that area. we had an event for about 80 people, and they wanted bbq. everything went great, they delivered and setup the food perfectly. by far my favorite food items were the cornbread and the mac and cheese, but also the pulled pork and beef brisket and ribs were great. we would definitley order from them again! read more

I've been to Firefly's probably a dozen times, but haven't taken the time to review until today. Between my husband and I, we have tried quite a few items on the menu and everything has been delicious. We have never had a bad meal here. Not only are the traditional BBQ items fantastic (pulled pork, ribs, brisket etc) but the menu includes plenty of non-BBQ fair as well so you are bound to find something you'll like. The menu is overwhelming in a good way with so many options it's tough to choose. I had a trio of southern tacos last night with pulled pork, steak and jerk chicken and I'm not exaggerating, they were the best tacos I've ever had. The Thanksgiving platter with roasted turkey is also a fave as are the steak tips. I also love the sides-sweet potato casserole, homemade mac and cheese, jalapeño corn bread, yum! I can never decide! I also love that they give you popcorn and cucumber salad to pick on when you sit down, a nice touch and something a bit different than your standard bread basket. They also have a bar of cold salads that you can help yourself to as well. Again, a bit different and a nice touch. Drink menu is also unique and varied so plenty to choose from. Overall, Firefly's is definitely a favorite of my family for a casual meal. Prices are reasonable too and the portions are huge! Definitely recommended! read more

This place has gone downhill. My family has been going for years, and we love many things on the menu, but everything served to us for dinner yesterday was mediocre. I got the two meat combo- the ribs were tasty, but the sweet potato pudding (usually my favorite) was dry and flavorless, the coleslaw was bland, and the fried chicken was also dry and bland. My husband's salmon didn't have its usual flavor, and his caesar salad was soggy and limp. My son's grilled cheese was soggy. Even my sweet tea was lukewarm and not sweet enough. I'm giving it 3 stars because it may have just been a bad night. Also, we like the pool room and live music at Dante's, which is a plus...we will certainly be back to hear a band, but probably not for the food. read more

We recently used Firefly's to cater a party at my home. We went with the self serve option where they drop off the food. The woman who delivered the food was on time (actually 10 min early), brought extra corn bread, more than enough plates/napkins/plasticware and there was PLENTY of food. We could have used more mac and cheese but we had leftover ribs, chicken, pulled pork. And I thought I had "under ordered". Everyone at the party loved the food, I'd definitely use Firefly's for catering again. read more

My parents wanted to take me out for my birthday, and I didn't want to go to the same old place, so we hit up Firefly's. We had their BBQ at the Bolton Fair this summer, and it was pretty darn good for Fair food. The restaurant experience did not disappoint. First off, the place is nothing fancy. It's loud and the decor is hokey, but whatever, it's a BBQ joint. It was hopping on a Saturday night, but the guy at the front door was really on top of things and tables were turned quickly. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, our food came out quickly, and boy was it good. My 2 year old loved the mac n cheese kids meal (she a Kraft snob, but this one met her discerning standards), but the real star here was the BBQ. My pulled chicken was amazing (I added some spicy Memphis sauce to it... yum!!). My parents and husband enjoyed their meals as well, tons of food for a reasonable price. We'll definitely be back. read more

My husband and I love Bbq joints and seek them out everywhere we travel. To us the key to a great bbq experience is not only perfectly smoked, tender and juicy meats but also quality, authentic, decadently delicious sides and condiments to enhance and a variety of sauces to satisfy every taste and mood. Fireflies delivers on all counts! Their baked beans are homemade and perfectly prepared with a balance of smokey pork and tangy sauce. The collard greens are addictive, as is the delicious Mac and cheese and the sweet potato pecan pudding is to die for! I could go on and on- all of their sides that we have tried have been delicious! I especially like their cole slaw because I like it on my bbq and their's is really tasty! We always start out with their hot and crispy sweet onion straws! The best ever! They also have a nice "condiment bar" with a variety of additions such as bean salad, a variety of pickles and pickled veggies, Vidalia onions, beets, olives etc. We have had their brisket, ribs, chicken and sandwiches and all are mouth watering yummy! We have lived in the Boston area for many years and have tried the other popular bbq places many times for variety and when hungry and we happen to be in their vicinity. We always end up saying, "well, that was pretty good, but not as good as Fireflies. Let's go there soon!" (Because now we are in the mood for really great bbq!) The service is great- fast, efficient, friendly, and great about checking in and being available. So, when our goal is to go to the best bbq restaurant in the Boston area we always head to Fireflies! We agree that, hands down, Fireflies is the best bbq restaurant around. read more

Favorite! Fabulous! Wish you were in New Hampshire to save us from bland, boring and benign pretend-BBQ.

When the cravings come this is the best place in Metrowest to get barbecue. Extensive menu and the baby back ribs fall off the bone. Small condiment bar with peppers and pickles. There are hot sauces available of all varieties but they are always empty or close. This should be rectified. Most of the waitresses can be a bit brash/annoying, but Jimmy was an awesome waiter who really went above and beyond and made the evening. He made the difference between 3 and 4 stars! read more

Usually get to Firefly's 2x/year. Every time I'm pleased. Good food, good service.
