I met a few friends at Firefly Winery. They have a large parking area which was my first impression. Upon entering, it is a nice cozy place. Definitely energetic. I opted for a sweet wine which was a peach flavor. It was very refreshing. The wine slushie was also very good. We each had a sandwich which were all quite tasty ~ they were the turkey and cheese, ham and cheese and lastly the salami and cheese. We also enjoyed a charcuterie board. Even if you are not into wine, there is a little something here for everyone. I was so impressed with the good food and the fantastic service. Michelle could not have been nicer. She was really knowledgable about the menu and even brought us tasters of the wine slushie! In addition to wine, they have a few cocktails and draft beer selections. They have happy hour on Wednesdays and Thursdays 4-6 pm. We tried several of the appetizers and they were all winners. I do think they could have been more generous with the crackers/bread to dip ratio, but maybe I was just hungry. The caesar salad was a large portion and really fresh. They have a beautiful patio and a nice open air window section into the main dining area. It was nice to have a little breeze coming through. This is a beautiful addition to Old Hilliard. My family had brunch on the patio last Sunday. We had wine and appetizers. When you make reservations on their site, you can choose either the main room or the sunroom. There is a pergola over the seating, so we did feel the light drops of rain, but it didn't last long. A few people went inside until it stopped. There is also patio seating on the outside of the sunroom, as well as bar seating inside. Our server Alana was wonderful, as was the rest of the staff. I met a group of friends here for happy hour on a Thursday. Thankfully one member of our group was able to get there at 4pm and ordered happy hour specials and got us a table inside. Came here because we just wanted to go to a winery. We aren't from Columbus so it was a day trip from Cleveland. This winery had high marks so let's try! First off parking lot is huge. Lots of parking. The area appears up and coming so lots of restaurants and fun things to do. Next time we will have to check everything out. So we went to the winery to drink. We did not eat the food. It smelled great. Looked good. But we just drank. We tried the sweet duck cider and the red blackberry wine. The red blackberry wine was fruity and sweet.. just what I like, really good. We bought a bottle to go. The winery itself is sharp. Very contemporary and open. They sat us right away. We loved the wine slushies. Tonight's feature was peach blueberry. Excellent. The wines are made in house. Our friends tried a sampler of the fruit based wines. They enjoyed the peach and blackberry but the strawberry, blueberry and red blend were not great. The craft beer menu was heavy on IPAs and Much Ultra. We tried a variety of foods. A 4 meat/ 4 cheese charcuterie board for $33 was disappointingly small with bland cheese, fatty meats. Bruschetta, bread and dip, nuts, cheesecake. The food was 100% meh and pricey. We were invited to meet up with other family members here. Party of six. Chose to sit outside as it was a nice day and the inside tables were close. Ordered Caesar salad and firefly salad. Good. Pretty good selection of wine but my waitress didn't seem that knowledgeable about wine- she was more like people like this wine and the one that I ordered was fine just not my favorite. I wished that I could've sampled it, and later I noticed that I could have done a wine flight and maybe I would've found something instead that I liked. We got a three cheeseboard that was pretty tasty, but it had some things on it that we weren't sure what they were and no one told us and my friend got the Burrata, which was really tasty. We have wanted two try this since they opened. I tried several starters for the table first was the Hummus which also had pistachios in it and was severed with rainbow carrots, celery flatbed crackers. This was very good and everyone enjoyed. The Raclette potatoes were so good I could have eaten a entire plate of these, but did share. These were on the smaller size to share I would suggest two orders for the table. Their spin on a Muffuletta was interesting, however it was delicious and loaded with meats and cheese and a cover of olive spread. We tried several flights of wine, all were pretty good. One that was different was the holiday Glitter, see the picture below. It contained edible glitter in the wine.The restaurant was very clean and extremely bust a reservation is recommended. Yay! Finally great wine in Hilliard. My mom went opening night. Yes, the line was long and we waited over an hour or more. Finally , I told my mom to go outside and grab a spot to sit if she could. She did! I finally got up to the bar and ordered a bottle of Cab, (was not going to stand in that line again) lol. Wine was very good. We talked to the manager, who was very nice and was seen helping out with all the servers. Cleaning table, taking food out. I will say all the servers/bartenders did an amazing job. Place is great, for surely need reservations. I was so hungry though I plowed through the mushroom bruschetta like I was going to starve. Place is very large, very loud and very open. They served charcuterie boards, breads, cheeses, small bites, dips and other goodies, including a variety of red wines, white wines, blends, ciders, cocktails and iced wine slushies were available. On another note, Firefly winery also has a walk up service window and is part of the downtown DORA (Designated outdoor refreshment area). What a great new place! Hilliard is growing and this is the perfect place to grab a wine and a little bit to eat and chat the night away with friends! We participated in DORA after grabbing our wines here and walked around town a little bit. The service was FANTASTIC- and I knew everyone was so new, so I was willing to be forgiving, but they knew their stuff. Back story, we podded up with two families in hilliard during the pandemic and if there ever was an instant connection, this is it. We do everything together. My parents and I visited Firefly Winery on a Sunday evening and were seated right away, no wait. My mom and I got wine slushies and we enjoyed both that we tried. They were refreshing, and not overly sweet or sour. My dad got a glass of Cabernet and had no complaints. I enjoyed the asparagus, as it was fresh and the sauce gave it a nice, slightly spicy flavor. My parents got a turkey sandwich and charcuterie board and liked everything, but wished both portions were a little bigger. Lastly, we got the pumpkin pie dip and thought it was delicious. The only thing that would've made it better was if it were served warm. The only complaint we had was that the inside is very loud. It was very difficult to hear each other at the table.
