Great place to grab a drink and a snack! Service is always great and the workers have always greeted us with a smile. They have indoor seating and a patio. The inside is decorated in a cute and cozy way - there's a limited number of tables and a bar. Personally, I haven't been there when it's super packed but I can image the noise level could get loud on a busy night. I am pretty indecisive so I love that they have wine flight options so you can pick a variety of wines to try. They also sell bottles for you to take home if you'd like. I have been coming to downtown Powell, ever since my parents moved to powell six years ago, craziness and as of recently, this winery is my new spot!! It is so adorable and refreshing inside! It gives off more quaint vibes for a winery and definitely more chill and relaxing!! It is smaller, so maybe head there with a smaller group or just a couple people! The parking is easy, they have their own parking lot right behind the building and a patio I cannot wait to sit at this Spring, when they open it up!! The prices are a bit pricey, but worth it for the wine!! Such fun, good tasting wine!! Lovely little place. It has great outdoor seating. We were pleasantly greeted with live music. They have a really nice line up for November. The musician was very talented and it really made for a fun experience! There was a lot of seats though many of them do not have backs. Just keep that in mind when you go. I kept slipping and sliding off the stool. We actually left due to how uncomfortable the seats were. Everything else was great. We got a nice bottle a Cabernet Syrah combination and some of their signature bread and dipping oils a Tuscan and a spicy one. The bread was fresh piping hot and the oil was a perfect compliment. They have quite a few white and red options and let us sample before deciding. The margherita pizza was delicious. The cutest wine bar I've ever seen!! They are closed on Sunday's, but available for private events and we rented the place for my Sister-In-Law's Bridal shower. It's the perfect size for 30-40 people and there's a patio as well. They provided all the food and wine for the party. We had the BEST time and on a Tuesday night of all nights. Great food, affordable prices, prime service and the WINE . Chef's kiss. The Christmas decor was up and was so warm and inviting, but the lights and warm atmosphere remains all year. Would be a lovely date spot, engagement party or happy hour venue, or even just a casual cozy night out as we did. They do orders online and I would recommend the Malbec. My boyfriend and I went to this place when the wine tasting we were supposed to go to fell through when it was cancelled.I was looking around for another alternative and saw this place. I was absolutely amazed. They have wine for everyone. Dry, reds, white, and sweet. My favorite to go to is the sweet wines. I pretty much with my boyfriend got two flights of wines. Flights of wines are four different wines which I got all sweet. I loved all the sweet wines the bartender gave me. It was fantastic. The bartender gave great suggestions for wines to try. I even bought the bottle of the strawberry wine because it was so delicious. He was super chill and fun to just talk to and gave great service overall. The girl bartender was super nice talked about her cows. Also did I tell you their flatbread was really good too. I was impressed because I needed something to help me from getting to dunk too quick. I don't get to make my way to Powell often - it's a bit of a haul from Grove City but finally made the excuse to hit some cute spots including this one. Powell Village winery is an award winning urban craft winery owned by such a cute couple, Dana and Ken Waldron. Wine is produced by Jeff Kirby (the original owner) and produced in Shawnee Hills, Ohio so it's a local wine. The wine is produced and aged in stainless steel and oak barrels. It is kept on site of the Shawnee Hills production site. Once aged, it's transferred into a wine tap system that you see along the wall in the winery. They have some the absolutely coolest names for wine EVER. Names like Big Spender, Call me a Cab, High Maintenance, My place or Yours, Sugar Daddy and more. Their Bordeaux is the best selling red wine and has been since they day the opened. Alongside their wines, they have some yummy small plates. To pair with the wines we had, we ordered the Cheese Plate which included a Bellavitano Merlot Cheese and a wedge of double cream brie with an orange marmalade. Both cheeses were SO YUMMY!!!! And for those that are gluten free - they offer gluten free crackers #winning! The second plate we ordered was The butcher block which had grapes, fresh mozzarella with a balsamic glaze and fresh sliced pepperoni. Small, upscale place in a very nice, upscale town. Great atmosphere. We didn't eat, just had a couple of glasses of wine. But I wish we would have eaten because the smell of the flat bread baking was to die for. The owner waited on us- very friendly- great guy. Love, love, love this place! For the Mister's birthday, we wanted to plan a little trip out of the city, and we really wanted a wine tasting to be a part of the party caravan. Naturally, I turned to Yelp to look for a wine-tasting venue outside of 270, and that's how I stumbled upon the Powell Village Winery & Tasting Room. (Wow, that's a mouthful. How about from now on I refer to it as PVWTR. Hmm, that's not much better. Oh well.) I'm more of a city guy, and I don't really like most locally-crafted wines (sorry, Camelot), so I honestly wasn't expecting much from a winery in Powell. Boy was I wrong. This place is incredibly adorable with loads of character and charm - especially for a new building. And the owner was insanely helpful and accommodating to our birthday party. Here's how it goes down: 1. Have a seat at any of the numerous tables. There's even a big one that's perfect for a larger group. 2. Decide if you want to do a wine tasting or enjoy wine flights. I totally recommend the wine tasting. 3. For a wine tasting, you'll each get a card with all the different wines listed - from driest to sweetest. You just check off all the ones you want to try, and they'll start bringing the wine! 4. When they bring each sample, they'll tell you a bit about the wine. 5. When you're all set, walk on over to the shelves and choose any bottles you want to buy. 6. Go to the register to pay. Don't worry, this place is totally reasonable. I tried eight samples for about $11. And the bottles range from about $10 to $25. I really can't say enough great things about PVWTR: really tasty wine, great, knowledgeable service, and an all-around fun time. I would totally make the drive to Powell again just to come back here. Tip: Try the Venom. It's not on the tasting menu, but it's the best wine they have! read more

I am so happy I decided to try Powell Village Winery! My first visit was on a Thursday night for their $20 flatbread and flight night. My husband enjoys wines on the dry side, more so reds, so he ordered Fixation, Guido Mario, High Maintenance and Call Me A Cab. His favorite was Guido Mario. I enjoy a little bit of everything, so my choices were Soulmate, Gina Maria, Just Peachy and Strawberry Fields. The only notes I made about mine was that the Peach was perfect when you want something sweet on a hot day, and that the Strawberry was not as fruity as I was anticipating so it was just so-so. I forget which flatbreads we ordered but they were both delicious! The interior of the wine shop was really neat and I enjoyed the coziness of it! Staff members were super friendly and helpful in describing the wines. We were there early but by time we left they were starting to get busy. My second visit was this past Saturday. I met a friend there right when they opened and they got busy very quickly. My friend had never been so we did a few tasting to try to find the perfect one for the beautiful day. My friend is a little pickier with the wines than I am so I was thrilled to hear that she enjoyed the reds that she tried! I tried the newly released Sangria, which was very good but a little too Cranberry/tart for what I wanted that day, so I ended up with a glass of my peach. Which ended up being the same thing that my friend ordered as well. We sat on the patio which was warm and breezy and both enjoyed a cheese appetizer. It's in the back part of 50 South Liberty street, turn into the drive at the arching overhang near the ice cream parlor. It is not on the street so if you look for it you may think the address listed is wrong; it's back off the parking lot, in a tuscan looking house. With cozy, wooden decor and sensual setting, Powell Village Winery Tasting Room is a primo destination in this affluent village. All their wine is made here, at a facility down the street. The service is superb, well trained, knowledgeable, and can guide you through the small menu of tasty wines. As with all wine bars flights are key for newcomers. Sans a Yelp event, this was my first patronage of this place and I brought a friend. We tried flights, easy to order by the paper menu listing wines from white to red and sweet to dry. It was Thursday so flights were 15% off on special equaling $12.71 in price ($14.95 regular for those that can't do the math.) This is a great deal since flights are half glasses, the wine quality high, and the flavors creative. My flights were Flawless Riesling, Sweet Leaves Moscato, Buckeye Nation Blackberry, and Just Peachy Peach. (Yes, I like my wine on sweeter side.) As with the samples at last years wine/girl scout cookie soirée, I loved each wine. Although the Riesling was a bit too dry ( Riesling's can be that way by rule) the apricot taste gave it a flowery fun. The Buckeye Blackberry was near I-phone in quality, thick with juicy intensity that circled the mouth. The Peach product was as advertised, like biting into a fresh ripe peach. My favorite was the moscato, I am peeved with myself I didn't buy a bottle; It was so sweet and flavorful; it was what all good moscato should be. Glass is are from five to eight dollars, tastings are a buck, and bottles are from $12.95 to around $23. They also sell teeshirts and other items. Food is on the menu: flatbeards, crackers, and cheeses among other appetizers. They sell some bottled beer and have specials on week nights. You can get a wine flight of four half glasses for $14.95 or some full single glasses for $4.95 to $7.95. They give you this list of their wines with the names (OMG! those names are funny like Sugar Daddy, High Maintenance and Curtain Call) showing whites, reds, sweets, and ice and the level of each one. I tried the Sugar Daddy (a sweet white cranberry wine) and was very pleased. They also offer single tastings and small snacks (bread, oil, cheeses, etc.) to go with it. Went to the winery by suggestion of other reviews and was so glad I did! We drove by 7ish in a Friday night and weren't sure if it was our particular scene. Boy, was I wrong! The staff at this winery are so friendly, outgoing, and knowledgable. The owner makes the wines himself and enjoyed conversing with us as guests about the process. Do not get intimidated by the "winery" persona, it is a very relaxed atmosphere and really felt like having drinks with friends. The seating is plentiful, long bar and multiple tables yet still very intimate. The wine list was very impressive, lots of variety from dry to sweet, desert and ice wines. We each enjoyed a paddle flight (4 half glass pours!) Do not be intimidated by this place- appetizer, 2 sets of flights- still less then dinner out! Around $35 for us.
