I would have killed for a park like this when I was a kid! The play equipment is awesome with lots of fun things to do and everything is so brightly colored. Even on a gloomy and a little rainy morning like the one we visited on, this park is vibrant and fun. There are lots of grassy areas to run and play, artistic benches and fountains, the bathrooms are nice and clean, the parks workers blow out all the leaves and take good care of the grounds and did I mention the multiple really cool playground areas and toys? Plus they have Mama Rosa which is the cherry on top! This park made me wish I was a kid again, or that I had young kids again so I could come here and play. If you're in the area, definitely give this spot a stop!

**July 2025: Weekday Afternoon Visit** This is a new park in Tosa and I came here specifically to see the new Mama Rosa Troll Statue. She's majestic and a perfect addition to this community. The area is very clean, well maintained, and is a great hang to enjoy the sun for all ages. There's a playground for kids, lots of green grass to run around in and if I lived here I'd be a regular for sure!

Great little park and impressive work by Wauwatosa and all of the employees that made it happen. They worked around the clock, especially at the end, to get it ready for the public. Not a fan of the people who visit here and walk in the street or chat in the intersections and expect those living in the area to wait for them. This is still a neighborhood and a lot of the neighbors have been frustrated by the influx of visitors. That being said, it's got a great loop to walk around with bustling wildlife and amazing solar powered lights and benches. On Fridays, they have live music and food trucks. I look forward to the time that things calm down and the newness of the park wears off. Great place for a stroll.

This feels like the park made out of 'the pit' from Parks & Rec - it used to be a fenced off unused space and now it's very cute. Friday night was PACKED - there were 2 food trucks, beer, wine, charcuterie boards. The regulars know to bring picnic blankets- we shared one of the very few picnic tables in the shelter and made friends. There is a skate/bike loop/ramp area (I don't know what it's called) and of course the giant wooden troll who is adorable. Great place to hang out while the kids run around.

Our kids are grown up now but we loved walking around the paved paths and checking out the whimsical touches - the unique, artist-designed benches scattered throughout the park, the living birch hut, and of course Mama Rosa and her damaged light posts. People of all ages were gathered and enjoying the space. Such a great addition to the Tosa area!

We visited Firefly Grove Park for the first time this week, and it truly took our breath away. As a parent, it's rare to find a place that blends creativity, nature, and family fun so beautifully--but this park does it all, and then some. The kids ran straight for the play areas, completely enchanted by the living willow hut and the climbing structures. The Greek-style amphitheater and little hidden trails make it feel like you've stepped into a storybook. And then... we turned the corner and saw Mama Rosa. What a magical surprise! She's towering, gentle, and absolutely stunning--made from recycled materials and holding a bouquet of lights like she's watching over the park with love. My child was in awe, and honestly, so was I. She's the perfect symbol of warmth, imagination, and sustainability. Everything feels intentional here: the nature-inspired design, the accessibility, the quiet corners for reflection, the joyful spaces for movement. Even the Greek fries at the food truck event nearby felt like part of the charm (yes, we got lucky!). Clean, safe, and welcoming--this isn't just a park. It's a gift to the community. Thank you, Wauwatosa, for creating a place where families can slow down, play freely, and make lasting memories. We will be back again and again.

This is a brand new park that just opened on May 28, 2025. I was so excited to go because they had a Mama Rosa Troll made by the wood artist Thomas Dambo. This statue is so cute and people travel all over to see these trolls and there's now one in Wisconsin which is super impressive. This park is so clean and really cute. They have a great playground and a bike ramp and also a really nice trail to walk on with a great hill which will be nice in the winter to sled down. I'm sure they are going to add more things down the road but right now this is a great small park.

Firefly Grove Park is a beautiful new park in the Wauwatosa area that features creative design into play, whimsy, nature, and exploration. The new park offers dedicated paved multi-use paths amidst bioswale and natural landscapes. Firefly Grove also has a neat playground area with a variety of climbing and playing elements for kiddos. In another nook of the park, there's a pump park for skate and play. The biggest draw, in my opinion, is the larger than life sized Mama Rosa Troll by the artist Thomas Dambo! His trolls are so unique and are located all over the globe (look him up and visit his Troll Map for more adventures). Overall, this is a really neat new, inclusive park you should definitely check out! Great for gatherings with friends, solo walks, leashed pup adventures, or fun with the whole family. The website says it features: Accessible play areas Nature play spaces One of the region's only bicycle pump tracks Living willow hut Wisconsin's first Thomas Dambo troll sculpture Sledding hill Pavilion with picnic benches Walking paths Solar arrays Stormwater management features Custom benches by five local and regional artists

This is a brand new park to me and I found it through YELP, seeing everybodys pictures of Mama Rosa, the troll statue. There is more to this park than meets the eye, it has playground equipment, bmx and skateboard area, hiking trails, indoor bathrooms and bubblers. The easiest way I found to get there is to take North Ave to 116th St turn south and its about a block down. Lots of street parking available

Lots of families out on a warm summer Sunday afternoon were at this very nice park/playground with many play options that appeared to be new. Didn't explore closely or think to take pics because we were there to see Mama Rosa, Thomas Dambo's newest sculpture made from recycled wood. And she is a beauty. There may have been a parking lot but we saw people parked on both sides of the residential street and it wasn't difficult to find a spot (be aware some people have signs saying no parking in front of mailboxes). One word of caution: the restrooms were clean but out of toilet paper when we were there.

I came here just to see the Thomas Damboo Troll that was acquired at a cost of $365,000. The artist is well know for his sustainable art. This piece of art is not meant to last forever based on the materials used, so see it when you can. The troll thinks that the lamp posts are flowers thus she is holding & smelling them. The lamp posts are also recycled & sustainable. This is a brand new park.

I visited the park to see Mama Rosa with friends recently. It's very well done. The paths are excellent. The facilities are all well done and honor the art in feel and style. This is a pleasant space to spend some time and ideal for families. I could see parking being a challenge, as this is a popular new sight and it's a limited street.

Nature is used well in the park

This new park is easily found in a cute neighborhood of Tosa. We originally went to see Mama Rosa, the newest art installation by Thomas Dambo, but ended up finding a fantastic park for all ages and abilities. Mama Rosa stands over 25' tall, and to see her in person is amazing. She has been created with reclaimed and recycled materials found in the town, including lamp posts that are representative of fireflies. But also notice the various lamp posts around the park; they are damaged and represent Mama Rosa's walk into the area and the damage a lady of her size can cause. Take the time to appreciate the entire area as you walk through. The park is incredibly well designed; there are action areas for all ages and abilities. We watched several children with disabilities enjoy the equipment fully. There is a pump track for bikes and skate boards and this includes a bike repair station for any mishaps that may occur. I have included many photos of the areas because there are too many to list. There is astro turf in several areas also for ease of use, no mud and wheelchair access. There is a bathroom conveniently located, and benches for parents to use as the kids blow off lots of energy. Sight lines are wide open so watching the kids play is easy and safe. Parking is another story. I actually feel sorry for the neighbors who live in this neighborhood, as the cars are parked everywhere! Be kind and avoid driveways and don't leave trash. There is no designated parking lot. There are two handicapped parking spots that are great for vans with mobility ramps right at the park entrance.
