I just started nannying for a family with 4 boys, and have gained a huge appreciation for cheap, fun activities appropriate for various age groups.
Decided to check out this park bc it had a free splash pad for the kids to play in and what looked like a nice playground.
The playground is very nice, the park appears to be well-kept and the park even offers free toys to play with in the sandbox.
When we arrived around 10am, there were a few families there, all with children around the same age. The kids played very nicely and even shared very well. As the morning progressed though, the climate really changed. Several groups showed up with a load of children and only a few adults (I assume daycares). This, in and of itself was fine except that a number of the kids that arrived were quite aggressive and impolite. After the kids I nanny for were pushed off of the playground equipment and rudely addressed multiple times, we decided to leave before the splashpad even opened.
I think it's great that the park serves as a resource for its surrounding community. I just wish that the kids could have gotten along and played together nicely. read more
