Before entering…read morethe building, we were greeted with a bald eagle, his handler and another staff member introducing us with an abundance of interesting facts about the eagle. All of the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and clearly have a passion and love for their roles at the nature center. The Wingspan and Wine event had a variety of wines to try, along with charcuteries, veggies, fruit and some desserts to munch on throughout the evening. The stars of the evening were the many different raptors we got to see up close and hear all about, all of which are clearly cared for and loved by all of the staff. The property itself is gorgeous and spacious. Visiting the Schlitz Audubon Center has been on my list for years and I'm so glad I was finally able to visit - now I can't wait to go back for more exploring and to see more of what they have to offer!

The space is has the vibe of a rustic lodge and would be great for weddings or larger parties. I'll be back to take advantage of the 6+ miles of outdoor trails. The water here is clean and fit for swimming, and tgere is usually always a lifeguard in the summer which is great! You can get down to the beach by either using the stairs or the trails to the side. The only negative part about this park is that it is currently undergoing construction which limits parking. Other than that, it is a place I would highly recommend everyone to visit in Milwaukee.

Here you'll find lots of tennis courts to use at your leisure, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and most importantly for us: two lovely playgrounds! One of them is pretty large and keeps the older kids busy (though my toddler loves to try to keep up). Bunch of climbing options, various slides, swings, and monkey bars. Down the path, you'll find a smaller play-set more suitable for the young kiddos, along with a cute home-made style jeep, merry-go-round, and even more swings. The creek here runs through park and there are plenty of paths to explore. You'll also find people picnicking, or just hanging out to read on a shady bench. We're big fans of this relaxing outdoor space!

There is plenty of open space between the play areas for kids to run around, and the benches and picnic tables offer a chance to sit and share a snack or lunch. If you visit the park during the day, don't forget your sunscreen as there are no trees to provide shade. This is a great addition to the Glendale community, and as a resident, I'm looking forward to going more often to enjoy music, the beer garden, and, of course, more time with family.

The park is situated by the parking lot although it is still a distance away but it would be super nice to have the assurance that once you're in your kiddos can't run away. There is little to no shade- there is also just a couple of benches by the actual playground area. Some scattered picnic tables serve as seating to watch the kiddos from afar but not quite enough especially if it's a busy day. Overall it's a fun park to visit and I would definitely recommend checking it out- bring sunscreen and maybe even a chair/blanket in case there isn't seating available.

It was a quiet spot and a decent beach. Couple issues the parking at the top of the hill is only 1 hour so we had to park a street over. Also there is a lot of horseflies so that kind of sucks and the beach is super rocky so not the most fun to walk. Overall if you just want to read and lay out this is the prefect place but maybe bring a fly swatter.

Although it is just off of the ever busy Lake Drive, it feels very secluded and much more relaxing than other nearby parks. It is a great place to take the dog for a walk, bring a picnic, or just relax and enjoy the scenery. Things to keep in mind: the beach is rocky, no life guards so swim at your own risk, and no toilet facility. My dog loves snuffling up and down the trail, highly recommend for the outdoorsy-type canine companion.

It's also across from the middle school which has it's own play structure. There are tennis courts, baseball diamond, and soccer goals. It is a perfect place to hang out with friends due to it being in the middle of a neighborhood and the recessed center makes it private. They appear to be used as a run off for storm water judging by some of the drains in the area. A pavilion has some nice shade and can be rented out for activities by residents. It's small and there are only a few short trails, but it's as serene and lovely as can be. Fall is a perfect time to check it out, but wear shoes that can handle mud and slippery leaves. Be sure to head all the way down to the water. The beach is minimal, but the kids will entertain themselves for hours climbing on fallen trees, looking for the perfect rock and perhaps building a shelter out of branches. One last tip: On your way down the steep hill, borrow a walking stick that you'll find on the left hand side near the entrance. Just be sure to return it for the next explorer to use.

There are…read moreseveral short hiking loops through the woods and a steep entry trail that goes straight down to the water. There is less beach than there used to be; perhaps it's an erosion issue. If you hike along the water, the beach opens up in a few places. It's very secluded! If you take the trails off to the north of the main one, you should stumble upon a bunch of old wooden benches, which are remnants of a long-gone outdoor church. High schoolers frequent this place to, well, do the things that high schoolers do. Don't worry though, they're more scared of you than you are of them. This is a wonderful place to get close to nature. It's generally very quiet. I've seen deer, bats, lots of interesting mushrooms, and many varieties of wildflower. The trail can be overgrown, but it is still quite clear. It's not possible to get lost, as the park is rather small, and all the trails are loops. Just be careful about wandering onto private property. No one seems to care too much, but there are "no trespassing" signs by the fences. If you want better beach, you might have to ignore the warnings, but you didn't hear it from me. Also, be careful along the shore here-- it can be tricky to traverse.

There was basically no signage outside so we just followed the GPS into what looked like private property and through the gates. Inside there was a parking lot and in the short distance a house. We entered the house and really didn't gather any information there. The guy working kinda just wanted to be on his computer. No gift shop, it was kind of bleak. I think they could do more here to promote the place and make money (I assume money couldn't hurt!) There are no walking paths, just grass. You are left to wander aimlessly as you choose through the property so we did. Lots of space between the sculptures so if walking is an issue, this place is not for you. My 13 year old really enjoyed the pond and wildlife. We saw a lot of frogs and a few turtles. I have to say, it's very pretty. But I do wish I had some more information to take home with me about the garden.
