I love it when a vegan/vegetarian restaurant is so good, I do not miss meat. We stopped in for lunch and were very pleased with our decision. We all had the grilled "cheese" with avocado with a side salad and choice of dressing. I put the cheese in quotes because the cheese was a non-dairy product. In the past, I avoided non-dairy cheese because of the lack of flavor and oily tase. This was good. The sandwich was grilled to perfection and the avocado was perfectly ripe and was a great touch of richness to the sandwich. I opted for balsamic vinaigrette dressing on the salad of mixed greens. It was delicious. The service was good, but a bit unconventional. We were greeted and seated and given menus, but had to go to the counter to place our order. Not a really a quibble, just an observation. All the staff were very friendly and informative on the products they serve. Our glasses of flavored water were frequently replenished and our satisfaction with the meal was confirmed. I would definitely make a return visit when back in the area.

We love firefly so much!!! Great food and great folks that own it. We've been coming to firefly for five years and can't recommend the place enough. They helped our whole family transition from vegetarians to vegans with all their amazing options. I hope more people come out and experience their amazing food!!!! We love you firefly!!!!

Good little place, though their customer service could be better. The seitan tacos are really delicious. The salad that comes with it is super fresh and the homemade carrot ginger dressing is good. The staff also comes around and refills either cucumber or orange water, a really nice touch. The only thing I did not care for was the #2 smoothie, something with cherry, cacao nibs and coconut flakes. I've never had to chew a smoothie before, and the ingredients really did not work together as the cacao nibs don't emulsify and are very bitter. I really did not like it. When I mentioned that I did not care for it, they did not offer to change it out, only then told me that cacao nibs don't blend, so I will say I was not happy about that. I don't recommend that choice at all. It's the first time I ever had a smoothie I really didn't like, and that took it from a 5-star rating down to 3 for me. Now instead of remembering delicious food, I remember the bad experience about the smoothie. It's pricey as well. The seitan tacos, 2 smoothies and a bagel came to $40!

Just a superb addition to Boyertown and Berks County in general and very much needed -- my evidence: it was PACKED the entire time were there. We watched people be turned away (oh the sadness on their faces) and felt lucky to have grabbed a spot. It is a small space, and it was lunch hour, so try to visit in an off time. Firefly is all vegetarian, non-GMO, and organic, with about 80% of the menu vegan. They use the incredible, supergourmet artisan nut-based cheese from Miyoko's Kitchen, OMG! I have never seen that anywhere. (It is our mail-order splurge for birthdays and holidays.) Everything is made from scratch, but our wait was short and our food wonderful: berry smoothie, avocado toast, pulled pork sandwich made with BBQ jackfruit, and a spinach salad with aforementioned fancy cheese as well as a wonderful lemon-tahini-miso dressing. We will be back ASAP for the mac & cheese, which is a daily special as well as the panini, I think. Even their table water comes with hints of lemon and cucumber. Breakfast includes tofu scramble, eggless frittata, homemade granola, vegan mini-quiches, and a breakfast burrito. More lunch items: raw kale salad, veggie burger, and a portobello cheese steak. Hearty elegant healthy comfort food done right. Most dishes are around $10 each. Right off the main square in a former jewelry store, Firefly is artful without being hippie, giving off a warm vintage earthy vibe. There is only room for a few tables, but there's also a bar (not the alcoholic kind, not sure if they are BYOB). Best seats are in the windows with the pillows. You can see right into the kitchen. Service was sweet and enthusiastic, despite how incredibly busy they were. Order at the counter, and they bring it to you. Credit cards are accepted of course, and there is free wifi. I predict they will expand quickly. They are not open in the evenings but how I would love that. The demand is great, and all ages of people were packed in the day we were there. Simply a delight. Visit soon!

It was basically a restaurant with a huge gift shop, a toy store and restaurant that was so popular you'd have to wait an hour to get in. As a kid I loved it and I've develped a fondness for these touristy restaurants. Not tourist traps because those are usually overpriced and not good. Millers Falls into that category for me. It's a gigantic restaurant with several adjacent stores and lots of branded items. But the attraction of course is the smorgasbord. Yes, that's essentially a buffet if you're reading this from one of my home towns on the west coast or Southwest. The place is huge and you'd think it might be slow to get or confusing but it's extremely well run. There are multiple stations such as Salads, Local Favorites, Appetizers and the ubiquitous carving station. I'd say stay away from the carving station; the roast beef was dried and a little tough. But everything else was great and very fresh. Some highlights included brown butter noodles, chicken pot pie (sortof a dumpling) Cabbage bake and ham balls. All the regional PA specialties are really delicious. The pickled eggs, pickled beats and spicy gardinera were yummy too. A gooey oatmeal pie was a delightful and delicious desert, but there were dozens of deserts to choose from as well. The wait staff were friendly and super efficient. If you're visiting the Lancaster area it's well worth the visit.

Having…read morenever attended one of these buffets, I wasn't aware of all the idiosyncrasies connected with participation. When we sat down we were immediately approached by a very pleasant smiling server. Her first question was whether or not we had ever frequented Miller's before? We said that this was our first time. Question #2 -What can I get you to drink? She then rattled off all kinds of soft drinks. We asked for a raspberry tea and an unsweetened tea. She kept our glasses full throughout our lunch. I was surprised to see a charge of $3.99 per drink added to our bill. Now I don't consider myself cheap. BUT, please say "would you care to order some beverages? Since this is your first time drinks are not included" The food was possibly a step above a college cafeteria. When i asked one of the food attendants "where's the beef"? he replied only on weekends. If you like pork and ham you're in good hands- they had what looked like a compressed turkey breast as well. The potato soup was very good and the fried chicken acceptable. So i was looking forward to the desserts. I love cherry pie so i took a piece and a piece of yellow cake with chocolate frosting.. You have to understand they cut 10-12 pieces out of a pie, small servings. After one bite of each as i pushed them both aside my wife had a stunned look. Knowing they are my favorites she was shocked i wasn't eating them. They were absolutely not worth the calories. BTW the coffee was lukewarm and the cup size was 4oz. at best. I'm glad i got the Amish Country buffet out of my system and hope I saved you a trip and the $80+ we paid with the tip.

We visit Jim Thorpe annually and were excited to try this place given its vegan options. When we entered the restaurant, the set-up was a little confusing. They did seat us pretty quickly though, and the service was probably the only positive to this experience. My husband and I both ordered cocktails; he had the Manhattan while I had a special vodka drink they were offering that day. Our drinks were overall fine but not anything special. My husband's Manhattan was very basic tasting. The menu and the food were the worst parts. The menu is unnecessarily long and phony sounding, like they are trying to be quirky but just come across as fake and condescending. There's extra, unnecessary description of the food that makes the menu difficult and frankly annoying to review. We ordered the bread teaser as well as the hummus. The pesto and the hummus were basic store level quality. The bread was definitely undercooked. For our entrees, we ordered the Cleopatra salad and a pasta dish. The salad tasted fine enough but it was basically just romaine lettuce with a very light dusting of nutritional yeast, vegan cheese, and a very low amount of chickpeas/protein. The pasta was an absolute travesty. It was extremely oily, flavorless, and bland. To top it all off, the food is extremely expensive! They have absolutely no business charging that much. The interior of the place is also a waste of space. It doesn't make any sense that it calls itself a pub. There's also stupid decor everywhere, including a sign that says "no" leading out to an employee-only location. I guess that's supposed to be funny but just comes across as condescending. It's a shame that this place has such a good location with Jim Thorpe and apparently can make a pretty penny serving subpar food and weird vibes. Don't waste your money.
