I saw that Frecon Farms had a booth at the Bryn Mawr Saturday farmers market and it was such a cute set up. A nice guy helped us pick some items to purchase. We ended up getting a chicken pot pit, cinnamon buns, and some peach cider. Everything was delicious and it makes me want to take a trip out to the farm when it gets warm!!

Incredible food and drinks, awesome country style store, gave me a free tea on the house because my allergies prevented me from getting a smoothie :D my grandmother loved her smoothie too

Absolutely loved my time at Frecon farms. Went with a group so everything was already taken care of. Wonderful variety of ciders to taste- cherry was my favorite by far. Apples were ready, beautiful, and ripe for picking in late October. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had vegan pizza as an option among other snacks. The vegan pizza was delicious and I ended up bringing a whole pie home. Loved the atmosphere, the flavors, and overall experience. Great place for a family day.

Adorable local grocer/cafe. Peach apple cider, squash salad, and lemon cruffin were all fantastic! Very friendly staff as well. I would come here all the time if I lived in the area.

PSA: we brought out own paper straws and mini pumpkins to decorate our ciders***

A little far from Philadelphia? Yes. But worth the drive DOUBLE YES!! I had mentioned to a coworker that my friend and I wanted to go apple picking, but wanted to go somewhere different this year and he suggested Frecon; I looked them up online (both their website and through Instagram geotag search) and was sold! I'll admit Frecon's website is a little lackluster, and if it wasn't for customer photos on Instagram I may have been a little hesitant to make the drive, but thank goodness for Instagram and Yelp! The actual farm store location and the orchards are at two different addresses which is a little bit confusing, but everyone within the store is more than willing to give you directions (only about 5 minutes down the road) and the trip between the two is quick and painless. Once you arrive at the orchard they have cashier lanes with staff to explain your options for picking or visiting, but I found most interesting that even if you were interesting in picking some form of fruit (be that apples or pears) you were allowed an "orchard pass" for $5.00 which included one drink at the concessions stand! I thought that was a super fair way to make sure that every visitor bought something without it seeming unfair. Is $5.00 extremely reasonable to come to a place just to take a couple fall photos? Absolutely. Is it even nicer of them to include a drink, EVEN MORE YES. Fecon had several of their own hard cider varieties both on top in the orchard as well as in cans in the farmer stand. Overall this Frecon was a super cool place for family as well as adult fun. I always like finding places that cater to families, but also cater to those that don't have children (are we the majority these days, hahah). We like fall fun too!!

Love this place! Apple picking, pumpkins, shopping, fun to be had all day! Take a hay ride. Had brick oven pizza, fresh cut fries, hard cider, and many other treats. Store has doughnuts, cakes and so many goodies. We come every year.

I do not live in Pennsylvania, but have family connections and whenvever I am in the neck of the woods, I make multiple trips to Frecon Farms. Genuine, authentic and simple food but totally made there on the premisis. The crowning glory is the baked goods. Great selection of breads, buns, cookies...oh lordy...the cookies. So good. Fresh, and totaly wholesome. I love the choccolate ones, the chocolate peanutbutter. Not a fan of the oatmeal or the smores. (Yes. I tried them all). They have a barista who can knock together a decent iced latte. Just remember if you are hipster....they like their coffee dark roast around here. Live with it. It is still pretty good to chase down those cookies. Oh did I leave out the pies? I did so on purpose. More for me. The apple pie. I dare you to find one better. So good you can take one to a party and say your momma made it and noone would be the wiser. I neglected the vegetables. Fresh, right there. Seasonal delights from tomatos to Cauliflowers. And there is a cold case with perogis and other things...sauces, etc. They manage to pack a lot of good things in a small space. Absolutely first rate. p.s. Cider. Apple cider, Hard Cider too.

Chocolates, coffees, teas, hard cider, wines oh my !

I have never once been disappointed here. the food is incredible! It's hard to find a really good latte and cappuccino in the area and this place nails it. The espresso is fresh and I love my latte with oat milk The staff are very friendly and the frecon name stands by the quality of their products. When I first moved to Pennsylvania from California this farm store won my heart and my taste buds over. It's been a gift to watch this local family owned business grow. When you support local you support families. Don't let a couple reviews deter you from experience this place. They have so much to offer. Where else can you find locally sourced fruits, kombucha, chocolates, wines, cheeses, speciality items as well as made in house baked goods and breads ? If you get a sandwich have them Toast it for you. The Italian sand-which toasted is my go to on any day. I hope you enjoy your visit when you go.

    My bounty for today!

Frecon Farms is my happy place! From adorable succulents, to fresh fruits and veggies, to freshly made sides, salads and sandwiches...and I haven't even gotten started on the bakery section! Best cinnamon rolls anywhere, and their cookies and pies are amazing too. To top it off, they just started doing a Smoothie and an Espresso bar as well! It seems like they make changes and additions almost monthly and I love it all. I see people complaining about the prices but honestly, for the quality of the food it's totally worth it! Fresh and delicious.

So I googled other farms with a big corn maze and Wilcox came up. I called the number and they said you can come whenever you didn't need to have tickets ahead of time, Yay! It was a good drive like about 45 minutes to an hour away. They have a smaller maze for kids and a bigger one for adults. They had someone explaining how the big maze worked before you went in. It is 25 acres and 8 miles long altogether. It is divided up into 3 different mazes in 1. We really enjoyed it, it took us about an hour and half to get through all the sections of the maze. They all have different number stations you're supposed to check off throughout the maze. The one even has a murder mystery game where you check off different characters at each station, that was really fun. The price was reasonable too , $8 for the maze. We went to the market afterwards. It was kind of small they didn't have too much there. I got a cider but they were out of the gallons, but I got a quart. Luckily I didn't buy a gallon, it wasn't one of the best ciders I have had, it was a little watery. I also bought some solar lights for my yard which were only $4 each. My husband hates when I buy them and he has to fix them though. We had a fun day , and we would return to this maze sometime !

This is a somewhat ramshackle road market surrounded by corn fields in the middle of nowhere. It was also loads of fun! First, they have in the fall two corn mazes ' the 'big maze' which is 8 miles long and in a different pattern each year, and the 'little maze', shorter and meant for Young 'Uns. There's also a play area with swings, slides and stacked tractor tires to climb on. Our older Young 'Un wanted to go on the big maze but agreed to take the younger through the smaller maze. There is also a pneumatic Corn Cannon, where you shoot ears of dried corn at targets. This was a monster hit. The produce stand at this time of year had a healthy selection of pumpkins, some really beautiful squash and gourds. Also dried multi-color corn bundles and dried bundled corn stalks for decorating with. Lastly, they still had some beautiful produce, honestly the prettiest bell peppers I think I've ever seen and some zucchini in the "Ron Jeremy" size. Inside the "stand" there is both a very good (REAL) ice cream parlor, which served ice cream in pretty traditional and delicious flavors. Vanilla, chocolate, fudge ripple, coffee, peanut butter cup, moose trails, etc. Very good quality, creamy and rich. Then they have an area that you could at best call an indoor "treasure" hunt - lots of mixed items sold by various people (the tag tells them whose piece something is) laid out on tables. It's like a giant unmanned swap meet. You can find everything from VCR tapes (New! Sealed!) to mugs to a vintage meat grinder and everything in between. SCFG and I had a blast digging through the tables and boxes, finding cool treasures - my favorite was the Holy Family ornament that looked kinda like what it might be if the Planet of the Apes had a Holy Family. I will have to take a picture of this to show it. The staff is very unobtrusive and friendly, even at the end of a long day full of Little Dears who drive people nuts. The prices for everything were reasonable and the boys had a great time running around the maze, climbing, shooting corn, digging for treasure and eating ice cream. We'll be back.

Living Hope CSA is great because they have a close drop off location to my house, and I like supporting local farms which provide us weekly fresh organic produce free of fertilizers and pesticides. The vegetables (and fruit such as tomatoes) are DELICIOUS, but I think other CSAs give more produce each week. (We compared what we got to what our friends get from other CSAs that also do 6 items for a small share.) At one point during the summer, Living Hope CSA did email all its members to say sorry about the quality of vegetables since the weather has been hot, but I think it would have been nice if they offered credit back or a discount for future farm shares. One thing I like about this CSA is that you can pick from a list of what you will be receiving each week. (The other CSA I am comparing to does not let you pick each week.) Unfortunately, by giving the option of choice, sometimes they run out of the popular items and you get a random item instead. That's okay, but sometimes you will receive out of season vegetables. For example, I received potatoes in the middle of summer (tiny potatoes in a tiny portion). I did order potatoes later in the fall though, and they were great. Save the cool season vegetables for the cool season!
