We have becoming to performance auto for several years, truly felt this was a friendly, reasonable, fair, honest place. We were so happy to find it an d work with the staff. They were always professional and offered great education when working on our cars. It is our understanding that the facility has gone through several management changes. We recently brought our car in, and I have never been so disappointed in car service before. I felt we were not explained what was being done on our car, and when we returned 2 days later to discussed we were talked down too, with a car tech literally 3 inches from my husbands face. Listening to him explain what he did do on our car vs what were told by the service tech were not the same, and it began to literally turn into a "pissing match" of who said what, and who was there. None of this is our fault, if you service techs can't explain properly what the mechanic reports, why as the customer are we at fault. It was explained to us that we had a hole in our compressor, cost would be $1200 - which is ridiculous and this was our first hint at how much this place has changed for the worst- a new compressor is $485- 4 hour job- are you really charging $175 for labor? The service tech reported he could patch the whole, this would give us anywhere from a week to 6 months- we agreed to do this why we did our own research. When we picked our car up and paid the $200 fee for diagnostic and patch, the car still blew warm air. We brought the car back up to the shop 2 days later and spoke to the mechanic, that is when we were told that it is impossible to patch a compressor and he never said he would, and of course the service tech we talked to was not available. It was like we were being called liars, and we know nothing about compressors (now we do) but why would we make up something knowing nothing about the parts. I informed everyone we were dealing with that I didn't not appreciate how they were doing business or approaching us (3 inches away from my husbands face- what do you have to prove- we are customers). The mechanic informed us he would not refund us our money but take $200 off our next repair or work that needs to be done on any car in the next 30 days. We left. my husband decided to take them up on there offer and called regarding getting wheel balance and some other minor repairs/ maintenance on his car he was told NO we would have to pay for it. We are so frustrated in this place and really wish we knew where the original manager went, when asked we were told they wouldn't tell us. Finding a good car place that is trustworthy, reliable, and ethical is like finding a new family member. We are trusting you to treat us fair and with respect, we are trusting you to work on our cars which transport our family. We feel so betrayed. I use to tell all my friends to go to performance auto because of how trustworthy and reasonable they were, but now I will make appoint to go back to all those friends and social media to inform them and protect others from going through this experience, I do not want my name associated with referring someone here. read more
