    SBC - Coffee Blonde

This was the second time going. The first time was 217 burger week and the Cajun burger was good. It had perfectly cooked and seasoned shrimp and andouille sausage. The burger was suppose to be medium but it was closer to well done. Overall it was a great experience. My wife had the chicken bacon ranch wrap and loved it. The fries were fresh out of the fryer. This time we started w jalapeño popper dip which was awesome especially w the combo of toasted bread and chips. I ordered the shrimp po'boy which again the shrimp were great but there weren't enough. There were 5 shrimp and a giant bun and not enough of the suace. My wife ordered the Buffalo chicken pizza which was good but would have been better with the thicker crust. There were only 4 beers on tap which sucked but I get things happen to equipment. Our service was slower but our waitress had a lot of tables. The place looks great and there were a lot of people there.

I had a spinach and artichoke calzone. It was delicious. Service was good. Only complaint would be flimsy silverware.

As a bar it appeared to be a neighborhood hangout and is probably pretty good. As a BBQ restaurant, not so good. The service was OK, she was fast and attentive. The sides (cole slaw and potato salad) were right out of food service tubs. The French fries were OK. But you come to a BBQ restaurant for what . . . BBQ. The Brisket was probably cooked days ago and kept in the refrig. The waitress said that they slice it and throw it on the flat top to heat it up. Yea, it also dries it out and gives it a hard crust. The smoke ring and taste was OK, you just had to drown it in sauce to soften it up. My wife had smoked turkey and it was exactly the same, good smoke ring, interesting taste, but dry and hard from the flat top. The only thing interesting was the sausage made out of burnt ends that was really good after I fished it out from under all the cheese sauce the drowned it with. Who puts cheese sauce on smoked sausage? Ball park franks maybe, not smoked sausage! The only reason for even two stars was the service and the sausage.

I completely agree with Yelper Al D.'s 'meh' description of their food. I literally |do|not|understand| how my build-your-own (extra cheese, jalapeños, sausage) had NO flavor. I doused it in red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese they brought to the table and still nothing. My wings were fried and tossed in buffalo sauce and served with blue cheese. From the picture I added to Yelp, you'd think they were pretty solid...but my taste buds were equally dismissive. And I also agree with Yelper Angela S. I tried hopping tables to find one that wasn't wobbly before I gave up and stuffed some napkins under one of the legs. As I lifted my head I noticed how many nearby tables had attempted the same thing. IMHO, if you're looking for a venue to watch a game, have a cold, yeasty beverage with friends, and snacks, Draft Sports Bar & Grill will suffice. If you're looking for anything else, best keep driving.

Biggest disappointment was that the fries were lukewarm and soggy. They were clearly not fried long enough or temp up correctly. They were also out of the sliced beef tenderloin sandwich, something we came to try. Lots of TVs and seating, large bar area with gaming stations and cool bathroom sinks. They have horseshoes and lots of other good items on the menu that I'd like to come back to and give them another chance to increase their stars.

They were fine. Menu says house made ranch but it was ok. Didn't really taste like homemade / house made. Wings were good size. Got the garlic parm. Tasted like most other places. My complaint is that they tasted a little under cooked. There wasn't any pink but it was border line. Then tried the traditional "hotshots famous " wing sauce. But.. I got them "trashed". Which is double dipped and fried. I really wanted to like these but they just didn't taste like traditional buffalo sauce (franks hot sauce, butter and vinegar). But the biggest issue was the up-charge. The menu says for trashed, it's "$2 extra" but.... I was charge $2/wing! I hope mgmt fixes that. With all that said, I'd like to try again but maybe a burger next time.
