Chicken Kabob, Mojadara Rice, Mediterranean Salad, Naan - so much food and so tasty
    Gabriel G.

I have some go to food when I am at the North Market, but thought I would give this place a try the other day and I am SO glad I did! It was delicious! The staff was super friendly, and the place smelled amazing. The chicken kabobs were crazy tender and super flavorful. The Mojadara rice was really nice and not nearly as salty as other places I have been which was a huge plus for me. The salad that came with it was fairly standard but fresh, tasty and pretty significant in size. Only the naan was truly weak, but honestly I didn't even need it. It was a ton of food! This place is definitely now one of my North Market staples

Another great option at the north market! It's a competition for the senses at north market & Firdous won me over with their assortment of offerings. It was minutes after opening & I was the second customer of the day which entitled me to the first slice of the Musaka along with a small Greek salad & heaping helping of Algerian spicy rice. Everything was delicious & complex. I had never had musaka before & would describe it as a richer more decadent pseudo lasagna. Rice was stellar & I want more of it in my life. Service was great & helpful with my selections. Add to your list If coming here as they had a lot of different dishes to choose from.

Located in the historic North Market, this is one of my go to spots in downtown Columbus for lunch. I love the Veggie Combo. The also have salads and other entrees to choose from. Food is always fresh and reasonably priced. Service is quick and courteous. You can also stroll thru the market to visit one of the many other vendors. Well worth the visit.

Fake menu prices. To be prices are much higher.

Watch out? Bait and switch menu pricing. Saw the entrees just under $10 on website. I ordered Chicken Schwarna entree they wanted to charge $14. I walked away.

This was some of the tastiest and most tender chicken breast I've ever had! So delicious and full of flavor, juicy and opposite of dry. Also a great value for the portion size of the meals they have, I got a chicken kebab meal that comes with rice and salad for about $15. I added hummus, pita, and water, and I was still around $20. The workers were working very hard and were organized, like a well oiled machine. Highly highly recommend!

For my first visit to North Market, my sister and I decided to get some Mediterranean for lunch. Boy, are we glad we did. We got a shawarma plate with gyro meat. It came with pita, hummus, and salad. The salad was chock-full of toppings and had a delicious dressing. The hummus was very tasty. The pita was a bit thinner than I prefer, it was still good for holding meat and hummus to make a tasty bite. While we didn't try any of the other salads, I'll definitely be back to sample them in the future because everything on their bar looked delicious.

The musaka was nice, hot, and cheesy. The honey mustard was an odd duck in the lineup but although soupy had good flavor. It was $6.50 which is too much to pay for such a small container. The tabbouleh has no bulgur which isn't tabbouleh.

Decided to try something new when I went to North Market and I was pleasantly surprised. The people explained the menu well and all the food looked really good. You got a side of rice, salad and pita with the entree. I had the musaka which I had never heard of but I thought it was like a Greek lasagna. It was very good and I got a side of hummus that I thought was normal hummus!

I have been coming to Firdous for years with my dad whenever we come to north market. It seriously does not disappoint! Now, the salmon portions have gotten smaller over the years (used to be 2 filets), but the deliciousness has only gotten better. The salmon is very zesty and seasoned, so if you like a lemon salmon, this is for you!!! (The fact that my phone didn't eat first in the photo is my tell tale sign of how good this place is. Oops.. but it's so good I couldn't wait to dig in!) For $15, this is a huge portion that comes with salad and rice and will be sure to keep you full. The people who work there are kind and remember us as customers which makes us feel valued! There's a reason why we keep coming back for years and years.

Veggie rice, pita, chicken kabob, and veggies

Firdous Express has a really nice set-up with their tasty, colorful food easy to view through the glass. They have a large selection of dips, proteins, salads and veggies, pita sandwiches, and several veggie options, including falafel. We couldn't resist the chicken kabob - we spotted it early on our visit to the North Market and circled back for it at lunch! The kabob was loaded with huge pieces of flavorful, seasoned chicken and some veggies. It comes with a choice of rice, of which there were four options. We went with a veggie rice. There was a choice of Greek salad or a veggie blend (green beans, asparagus, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli), and we went with the veggie blend. It was topped off with a couple pieces of pita. The box was packed with the generous portions. The food was tasty, especially the tender and flavorful chicken. We would love to try some more options in the future. The staff was very friendly.

Fast casual Mediterranean food in North Market. Lots of options for quick Mediterranean or Greek food type kick. Was really craving a gyro and some shawarma! This place did the trick. Ordered gyro and combo meal. The hummus was out of this world good, a nice creamy hummus with good amount of tahini. Rice was okay but though the shawarma hit the spot it was a little plain and greasy. Also got the baklava and that was exceptional! Would love to order more next time. Overall a good amount of food for under $10. I would order again but the lamb shawarma could be better. Chicken shawarma was good though!

We arrived fairly close to closing, which can sometimes be risky--some restaurants start cutting corners as the night winds down. Not here. Everything was incredibly fresh, and each bite took our palates on a culinary adventure that had us feeling like champions for choosing Brassica for dinner. The ingredients, flavors, and execution were all outstanding. If you haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and go. Brassica continues to prove why it's one of our favorite places to eat whenever we're in town.

I started with the Cauliflower Tahini Soup, followed by a build-your-own salad bowl, a Chocolate Chip Cookie, and a Minty Pink Lemonade. The soup had a rich, creamy texture, though I found it a little too salty for my taste. Not knowing exactly what to expect, I loaded up my salad bowl with lentils and rice, mixed greens, hummus, baba ghanoush, crispy onions, pita bread, chicken shawarma, brisket, sweet beets, pickled cucumbers, pickled radish, pickled cabbage, cauliflower tabbouleh, marinated eggplant, and finished it with Brassica's roasted garlic sauce and tahini. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and full of contrasting textures. The combination of crisp vegetables, savory proteins, and creamy spreads made for a hearty, satisfying meal that kept me full long after lunch. The Chocolate Chip Cookie was exactly how I like it--crispy around the edges with a slightly well-done finish and plenty of chocolate in every bite. To wash it all down, the Minty Pink Lemonade was the perfect balance of sweet, tart, and refreshing, complementing the bold Mediterranean flavors beautifully. Overall, Brassica is a great option for a quick, customizable meal made with fresh ingredients. While the soup wasn't my favorite, I'd happily return to build another salad and try more items from the menu.

All utensils and plates and water are serve-yourself near the door. At lunchtime on a warm Saturday in spring they had a steady trickle of guests coming in. The person who took our order thanked us for supporting them. Food was quick and very fresh. I had 1/2 tabbouleh salad and za'atar French fries. The tabbouleh is more heavy on the greens than the grain which was a refreshing change to me. It was dressed in a bright, fresh lemony dressing. More than I could eat in one sitting. The French fries are maybe dipped in batter and fried. I'm not sure. But they are super crispy on the outside and fluffy inside - delicious. The ambiance is casual with various TV screens showing different shows and Middle Eastern music playing on the speakers. The interior is simple but warm and inviting with minimal but fun decor. While the prices are a bit higher than I would have expected, I could see myself returning for dinner.
