My kids loved getting to pick and choose every single element of their meal, which kept everyone super happy (and full!). Us adults enjoyed our meal as well. I'm very curious about how their dinner is, so I already have an excuse for a repeat visit.

Multiple staff members provided me with restaurant recommendations. There is a shuttle that takes you anywhere within a 2 mile radius at no additional charge-- early morning until 10pm at night. Definitely sets this location a part from other hotels. Loved the property, nice well kept gym (cold water dispenser inside), with a nice indoor pool no hot tub and nice setting area if you don't come in the winter. In terms of the hotel rooms, they were quite small gave upscale hostel vibes. Reminds me of the size hotel room when I travel outside of the US.

Yuminess: 10/10 Allergy Safety: 10/10…read morePrice: 9/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Overall: LOVE Postino! The food is over the moon delicious with plenty of options and reasonable serving sizes. Even with the slightly high price point, it is well worth every penny. And they take allergies SO seriously! Literally went through a bunch of ingredients to find what would and wouldn't be dairy-allergy safe. Atmosphere is fun but cozy, too. 100% recommend! In-depth: Postino has quickly become one of my favorite places in the CLT area after my 10/10 experience here. To start, the food. My word, it's amazing! Everything my friend and I tried was delicious. The bruschetta is 100% worth trying (the spinach artichoke one is my favorite), and the west coaster panini + romaine salad was tasty at every bite. Their wine is also good quality, with a decent-sized portion poured. Allergy safety is a major thing for them, too. Our server (Lee = the best waitress!) and her manager looked through their bread and ingredients for about 30 minutes to confirm what was and wasn't dairy safe (I asked how dairy allergies are handled for when I bring my husband next time). They also had quite a few gluten-free options, too. The manager explained that she wants people to be able to just come in and relax for a few hours without worrying if they'll get sick, which I truly, truly appreciate. Lee shared a similar sentiment, which was amazing. Now price... Yes, it is a *bit* pricey, but it is well worth it. Nothing felt lacking as far as flavor goes, and the allergy safety is a huge thing. This is one of the few places I felt my sandwich and salad were worth every penny, even if it was $17. Also, their rewards program is great. I got a free bruschetta board, and they offer several other perks. Make sure to sign up before or while dining there to get some good deals! In addition to their sincere care for allergy safety, the service is fantastic all around. They do group service, meaning you'll have several servers, and they encourage you to grab anyone if you have questions. This takes the pressure off of waiting for one server to walk by and really helped me relax. And the atmosphere? I could stay there all day! It's a really fun vibe, but the lighting and seating are very cozy. Overall, I've already recommended this place to 5+ people and will be returning soon

It currently offers free parking for 3 hours and incremental of 1- 2 hours paid parking after. My wife and I came here on a date night. While her original visit left more than be desired management invited us to give them a second try and I'm so glad we did. We had an amazing time from start to finish. The staff was amazing and I was astounded by their dedication to their craft. The best part was the food. We started with the chefs board which had an array of cheeses and spreads. The most memorable was the whipped feta. OMG. The Ambiance was the only thing I feel could use some tuning as there's not enough sound deadening to make the music out? It sounds like a heart beat and makes it hard to make out conversations. Major shout out to Leigh for taking care of us all night and making it a memorable night. Also big thanks to Odhie for the tickets to the concert. This was definitely a night to remember. Thank you Postinos Staff!

I cannot say enough good things about The Ballantyne!…read more The property itself is absolutely beautiful, with plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces to relax, unwind, and enjoy the surroundings. The staff was consistently friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout my stay. They were quick to assist with any questions or requests, which made the experience even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was the Gallery Restaurant. The breakfast served there each morning was phenomenal! The outdoor pool was also a highlight as it was relaxing, comfortable, and very well maintained. The service staff frequently checked in with guests, ensuring everyone had what they needed without being intrusive. My only real criticism is the parking fee. The hotel charges $20 per night for parking, which feels unnecessary given the already high nightly room rates. I believe parking should be included as part of the stay, especially at a property of this caliber. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would gladly return.

Not planning on returning unless for tea or brunch at gallery. I've now stayed here twice within 10 months. Both times I've found the staff quite kind and helpful. The rooms clean and as depicted. Hotel and grounds very well maintained. Love the walkability to restaurants and bars. Room Beds are not up to a luxury hotel standards. I found both beds to be a springy mattress with a worn out pillow top. Quite literally a pain on the back. Bedding is Frette and quite soft and cozy. Bathroom has Molton Brown products. Super bougie brand so I think that is on par with the hotel being luxury. I bring my own shampoo and conditioner because of my 3A curly hair doesn't get along with the shampoo and conditioner. Both the water pressure and hot levels are exceptional. I was not lacking warm water and did actually turn it a bit cooler than my usual setting at home. So I've a bit of a bone to pick on the minibar. There is a listed price for all the items. Great! Was a bit surprised on the bill to find the $3 can of soda and $18 container of dark sea salt chocolates to be listed as $3.99 and $22.41. That's more than the sales tax in Mecklenburg. Upon reading the fine print on the minibar there is a 24% service fee on top of the 8.25% sales tax. Given that the minibar is stocked and no one is running this items to the room like room service, I'm a bit confused on the service charge as anything but a small additional little money grab. Little sneaky and tacky vibes about it. Gallery restaurant I have written a separate 5 star review and very much so like the restaurant. Afternoon tea Afternoon tea I absolutely love and greatly enjoy. Lovely tea and tiered plate selections. This is a must for me, absolutely love it. I've attended with my partner as well as solo. Solo I sat and read a book it was great! Even if traveling solo still a lovely nice experience! Parking I think the price of parking has changed. It is now $20 to self park and $30 to valet. This is all clear on the app and website before booking. Spouse was understandably less than thrilled when he walked out to the car with all our luggage, loaded the car and began to drive to the hotel to pick me up only to be locked into the parking lot. The room key card that opens this parking was deactivated apparently at check out time. Well no one wants to be schlepping around in muggy hot weather at noon to come back to the hotel and find out why it isn't working. He had to have the card reactivated, then walk back to the car, then bring the car up. Waste of time and irritation. Hotel common space I found all common and public spaces clean and tidy. Both elevators have been working, in good service and clean. There is a complimentary coffee and tea station in the bar space in the morning. They also have some grab and go items for purchase. I made tea and drank it on the veranda. None of the grab and go items spoke to me so I went to the gallery restaurant. Spa I've been to the spa last trip and enjoyed my facial and massage. Mani pedi was ok... women's spa space has a sauna and steam room. A quiet waiting area with teas and water. Showers, restrooms and a locker space. Indoor pool Love that they have an indoor and outdoor pool. Super easy for me to get burned so I use the indoor ones. The interior space is quite lovely at the interior pool. A few notes of items needing attention. The rectangular hot tub has quite a thick layer of scrum on the tiles above the water level. Requested additional pillows when checking in ahead of time on the app. Those were not in the room and I had to request them. If you want a tea kettle in room you've to request that and tea. Wish it was easier in app or pre check in to do. I am not sure that we will be back anytime soon as I don't find their beds comfy and relaxing. Hotel, amenities, afternoon tea and brunch overall I like. I wish they would join other properties that had a memory foam type bed with a more firm supportive with slats. Rather than springy mattress on a box spring.

Prime rib now available seven days a week. Was just offered on weekends. Really wanted to have a…read morenice slab of it, so wife and I went. Were early, so got seated and Ashley was our wait person. Nice wine list, a bit high for a glass, but we both had the Cline Old Vine Zin ($13 each glass) and it was excellent. Split (at an additional $13.75) their wonderful BLT salad ($14.75) with ranch, which was two wonderfuls for the evening. I ordered the prime rib medium, which was a big mistake. The first slab offered was very raw, so raw that the server said, "there is still a lot of moo in this one." For me, it was a horror story as I like my meat more cooked than medium rare. In fact, in South America I order my steaks "tres quartos, sin sangre" or three quarters without blood. The server gave it another shot and it was slightly more cooked than the precious. I was terribly disappointed. Ashley came by and I tried again and ate around the edges. She explained that the vast majority of clientele order rare or medium rare, so that is what is prepared to be served. OK...I got it and was very disappointed. And was rude to the duty manager on the way out. I APOLOGIZE FOR MY RUDENESS. IT WAS UNCALLED FOR AND YOU (THE MANAGER) DID NOT DESERVE TO HEAR IT. I AM SO SORRY. And really sorry I am, as the duty manager took the charge off of our bill because I did not get what I wanted. Gracious, for sure. I mention this as Firebirds is an excellent restaurant across the board. Food, service, bar, everything is great. But the lesson I learned is that the prime rib comes rare or medium rare. The do will with steaks, but the prime rib is a separate case. We are heading out to their third location in Fort Mill tonight with neighbors. I will order steak, medium, not prime rib. Thanks, Firebirds.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a very long time…read more This was, without exaggeration, the worst prime rib I have ever been served. I genuinely did not know it was possible to ruin prime rib this badly, but apparently it is. I wish I had taken a lap around the restaurant before ordering, because nearly every prime rib I saw coming out of the kitchen looked like something a 1 star Burger King would serve. The Parmesan mashed potatoes were equally depressing. They did not taste or look like real mashed potatoes. They had the texture and appearance of those 99-cent packets of powdered instant potatoes you add hot water. Then came the filet mignon. I have never had a filet that tough in my life. It was so chewy that I genuinely questioned whether this was even a filet mignon cut. "Leather boot" would be a more accurate description of the texture. The cheesesteak egg roll appetizer somehow managed to be both flavorless and weirdly artificial tasting. It reminded me of something you'd get tricked into buying from the frozen aisle at a supermarket, take two bites of, and immediately throw in the trash. And then there is the restaurant itself. A huge portion of the place is under construction, with visible construction mess and what appeared to be paint/construction dust around the restaurant. How you create that kind of environment and continue operating like everything is normal is beyond me. The bathroom had no soap. Meanwhile, instead of management walking around looking miserable and unfriendly, maybe someone could walk across the street to Harris Teeter and buy a bottle of hand soap. I honestly cannot understand the glowing reviews for this place. Between the awful prime rib, instant-potato-quality mashed potatoes, absurdly tough "filet," frozen-food-quality appetizers, construction mess, and a bathroom without soap, this meal was almost impressive in how consistently bad it was. Calling this place comparable to Applebee's would be unfair to Applebee's. This was a notch below chain-restaurant mediocrity, at chain-restaurant mediocrity, at steakhouse prices.
